Feb. 1903/same father/same mother ******** ROMANCE CULMINATES IN MARRIAGE. Faithful Childhood Lovers Reap Fruit of Constency. A happy culmination to the childhood romance of Miss Anna Sohn and August Mach, well known young people of Mapel Grove, was witnessed by friendsMonday in the marriage of the two which took place at the home of the groom's parents and which was the occasion of a most joyful celebration. Mach and his bride have exemplified the old adage "that love will find away" and in effecting the release of his sweetheart from the Industrial school the young man attained the success that was his reward. After a visit with friends in the county the young people will take up their residence at Colitic, Ind., where Mach holds a responsible position and is prospering as a result of combined energey and ability. The past faithfulness of the birde and groom augurs well for a future of contentment and happiness. Manitowoc Daily Herald, Tuesday, January 14, 1902 P. 1

HERALD EDITOR BECOMES A BENEDICT The marriage of Edward W. Mackey and Miss Lynda Gerpheide was celebrated at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Gerpheide, Clark street, on Wednesday of last week. The marriage took place under a special dispensation granted by County Judge Chloupek. The couple were unattended and only near relatives of the contracting parties witnessed the ceremony, the event being a quiet, pretty home wedding. The marriage was solemnized in the parlor, which was handsomely decorated for the occasion. Mrs. John Mackey, Monroe, and Mrs. E.S. Stealy of Freeport, mother and sister of the groom, were present. The ceremony was followed by a reception, after which a wedding dinner was served. The young couple departed on the 9:50 limited train for Appleton, whence they left for Chicago and other points for a ten days' honeymoon trip. Upon their return they will take up their home at 1122 South Fourteenth street. The bride is a popular young lady. She is a graduate of the Third ward high school and is an accomplished musician. The groom came here seven years ago, shortly after the Manitowoc Daily Herald was founded, and he has been editor of that paper since, with the exception of a few months, during which time he was editor of The PILOT. Editor Mackey is a progressive young man and a rising journalist. The couple will have the well wishes of a large circle of friends, including The PILOT. MANSAU: Adolph m: 11 Apr. 1852 by Wm. Herritt, Minister wit: J.N. Fisher and Dan'l Smith of Mishicot to: Margaret Fry DIED: At his farm home in the town of Ashwaubenon, Brown County, near De Pere, on the 10th day of March, 1893, of paralysis, Adolph Manseau, age 66 years, 9 months and 14 days. He was born at St. Francis Province of Quebec, Canada, on May 26th 1826, was married to Margaret Fry of Mishicott, Wis. on April 11th 1852. A wife and three children survive his loss: Two sons and one daughter, F.E. Manseau of Two Rivers, Wis., Florence B. Fraiken of Minneapolis, Minn., and Homer D. Manseau who resided with his father. Adolph Manseau came to Manitowoc Wis. about the year 1844 and was engaged principally in the lumber business until August 1876, when he removed to his present home in Brown County and engaged in farming. Like the history of most men, it can be written on a page and is very similar to that of others who lived clean lives, and may be summed up from the cradle to the grave about as follows: He was a good neighbor, kind father, husband and friend, and he loved, labored and suffered, and died square with the world. No record can say more for any man or make his death a source of more sincere sorrow to those who knew him. Manitowoc Pilot, Thursday, March 16, 1893 P. 3
