She has two death records: From Manitowoc county death records: Bertha Gaca nee Domagalski (v.6 p.22) Wife of Frank Gaca Birth date left blank Died Oct. 9, 1897 at age 22 years and 5 months Daughter of Anton Domagalski with mother unknown Died from "post partem hemorrhage -was without medical attendance, viewed corpse after death" Died at Town of Two Rivers Buried at "Polish Cemetery, Milwaukee, Wis." ****** From Manitowoc county death records: Bertha Gaca nee Domagalski (v.6 p.68) Wife of Frank Gaca Died at age 22 years and 5 months Daughter of Andrew [Anton] Domagalski with mother unknown (both born Poland) Born Poland [actually Milwaukee] Died from "post purthena hemorrhage, 6 hours" Buried at City of Two Rivers Cemetery -undertaker Frank Gaca I have never been able to find a Bertha Gaca in any cemetery records in Manitowoc County. She was likely buried in Milwaukee County. I also have not found a death record for Frank Gaca or his second wife Barbara Monka. It also seems the baby of Frank and Bertha died on Oct. 9, 1897 (the same day as born).

GAUGER: August m: Louise Schroeder From Der Nord Westen, 06 May 1909: On the same farm, in the same house and in the same room where they were married 02 May 1859, Mr. and Mrs. August Gauger in Cooperstown celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary last Sunday. Mr. Gauger is 72 and his wife, the former Louise Schroeder, is 68. He came directly to Cooperstown from Germany 52 years ago and bought a piece of land for 60˘ an acre. That was certainly a bargain, but it required a great deal of time and effort as well as sweat of the brow to make a farm of that wild land. Only people like this can testify to the joys and sorrows of what pioneer life had cost. Two years after his arrival our friend married Miss Louise Schroeder who has stood by him all these years. They had a number of children of whom 9 are still living. Due to the age of the couple the farm was turned over to their son Heinrich, however the elderly couple continues to make their home there. They were the first couple to have been married in the Lutheran Church there Attending were the couples children, 19 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. The Rev. John Guse of Austin, Minnesota, one of the grandchildren, led a worship service in their residence. In all, over 100 relatives, neighbors and friends participated in the celebration. The children of the couple are Mrs. F. Guse in Manitowoc, Mrs. L. Heise in Cooperstown, Hermann Gauger in De Pere, Mrs. M. Radue and Mrs. Bertha Radue in Luxemburg, Kewaunee County, Mrs. A. Heinrich in Morrison, Heinrich Gauger, who lives on the old homestead in Cooperstown, August Gauger in Manitowoc Rapids, and Mrs. Wm. Krueger in Gibson.

Tomorrow there will be a dinner at Sacred Heart school hall at noon, and open house during the afternoon at the Geigel home at 731 North 5th street. After their marriage at St. Nazianz, the couple lived at Clarks Mills and St. Nazianz before moving to Manitowoc.
