The Barnes Bros. Co composed of Calvin C; James C; and John W. Barnes purchased $9,353.37 worth of hardware from Plntfs to stock their hardware store. They issued notes in payment. When one of the notes came due C.C. Jenks of Chicago, agent for Pltfs, presented it for payment at the bank. Calvin Barnes, president of the bank issued a check which he then traded for a certificate of deposit. When the certificate was presented for payment it was refused. Plntf is suing for fraudulent use of the bank by its officers. James C Barnes is the cashier of the bank.
