JOSEPH THALHAMMER cemetery #44 Funeral services were held today for the late Joseph Tahlheimer(sic), a pioneer resident of the county who died at his home near English Lake. Mr. Tahlheimer was 82 years of age and a native of Austria, coming here when a young man. Mr. Tahlheimer is survived by one son, Charles, and a daughter, Miss Augusta. ARCHIE W. THAYER cemetery #44 ARCHIE THAYER, FOR YEARS WELL KNOWN ENGINEER OF LAKES, DIES AFTER ILLNESS OF TWO MONTHS Resident of City Since 1896 and for Fifteen Years Served as Engineer for Reiss Co. at Lake Front Docks, Was in Hotel Business Archie Watson Thayer, for many years well known as an engineer of the lakes, later engineer at the Reiss docks and for several years past engaged in the hotel business in the city, died at his home at Tenth and Buffalo streets early today. Death was due to heart failure, though for two months Mr. Thayer had been ill and under care of physicians. Mr. Thayer was born at Racine Oct. 12, 1857 being 60 years of age at his death. For years he was employed on the lakes and for fifteen years after retiring from that service was engineer at the lake front docks of the city. He had resided in the city with his family since 1896. A widow and seven children survive Mr. Thayer, the children being Mrs. B.T. Murk, Mrs. William Robertson, Mrs. Roy Cunningham, Miss Pearl, Archie, Jr., and Miss Vera of this city and Mrs. Robert Harper of Junction City, Ore. EMMA C. THAYER cemetery #44 Mrs. Emma C. Thayer, 76, wife of the late Captain Chan Thayer, died Saturday afternon at the Holy Family hospital following a lingering illness. In recent years she had made her home with a sister, Mrs. John Clorn of 1518 South 12th street. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Frazier mortuary chapel, Dr. C.H. Phipps of the First Presbyterian church officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Born Emma Buritz in New York City in 1871, she was married to Captain Thayer in 1895. Forty years ago they located in this city. Captain Thayer died 24 years ago. Survivors are two brothers, Louis Buritz of this city and Joseph Buritz of Detroit; two sister, Mrs. Clorn and Mrs. Arthur Schuetze of this city. GOLDIE E. THAYER cemetery #44 MESSAGE BRINGS NEWS OF DEATH OF MISS GOLDIE THAYER Sad Death of Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Thayer, Former Residents, at Chicago - Body to be Brought Here Friends in the city were shocked today by receipt of messages from Chicago announcing the death in that city of Miss Goldie Thayer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chan. Thayer, former residents of this city. Though advised of the illness of Miss Thayer, friends here had not known that her condition was critical and the news of her death was a shock. Funeral arrangements have not been completed but the body will be brought to this city for burial. Miss Thayer was an only child and was but twenty-four years of age at the time of her death. She was born in this city October 20, 1892 and had made her home here up to five years ago and had made frequent visits here since. Miss Thayer was a graduate of the old North Side high school and later attended Lawrence college at Appleton and then the University of Chicago from which instituation she graduated. Following her graduation Miss Thayer was engaged as a member of the faculty of the ?????? High School but was forced to give up her position by failing health and for ????? time had been at the home of her parents at Chicago. She was an active member of Parkside M.E. church and of the Epworth League in Chicago. The death of Miss Thayer has prostrated her parents. Mrs. Thayer is seriously ill. Miss Thayer was a grand daughter of Mrs. Anna Buritz, this city and the body will be taken to the Buritz home at 713 York street upon arrival from Chicago. BERNICE THEDE cemetery #82 Mrs. James Thede, 69, of Kiel, died October 16 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton, where she had been a patient for three weeks. The former Bernice Drake was born August 14, 1906 in Milwaukee a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Drake. She received her education in Wauwatosa Schools. On May 21, 1935 she was married to Mr. Thede in Sheboygan. The couple lived in New Holstein for 30 years and three years near Campbellsport before moving to Kiel. Mr. Thede operated a small engine repair shop at New Holstein and Kiel, and presently is a radio operator at the New Holstein Police Department Survivors include her husband; a niece and a nephew. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, with Reverend John F. Baumann, pastor of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was in the Kiel Cemetery.


JAMES THEDE cemetery #82 James L. Thede, 79, formerly of Kiel, died Friday morning, October 5, at Calumet Homestead, New Holstein where he was a resident since July. He was born January 11, 1911, at Chilton, son of the late Jack and Magdalyn Smith Thede. On May 21, 1935, he married Bernice Drake in Sheboygan. The couple lived in New Holstein for 39 years and three years near Campbellsport before moving to Kiel. Jim operated a small engine repair shop in New Holstein and Kiel and was also a police dispatcher for the New Holstein Police Department. His wife, Bernice, preceded him in death on October 16, 1975. Survivors include three sisters, Lucille (Ernest) Wampler of Florida; Mabel (Jerald) Graves of New Holstein; Madeline (Donald) Oakley of Chilton; numerous nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, (private) of Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral services were held Sunday at Mieselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, with the Rev. Thomas Leannah, pastor of Ss. WILLIAM THEEL RITES HELD MONDAY Funeral services for Mrs. William Theel, 82, were held Monday afternoon from the Zion Lutheran church at Louis Corners. Mrs. Theel died Friday, at the New Holstein home of her daughter, Mrs. Armie Voigt. She was born Anna Voss in Schleswig in 1867 and was married to Mr. Theel in 1888. They located on a farm in Schleswig and in 1916 moved to Kiel. Mr. Theel died in 1945 since which time Mrs. Theel resided at New Holstein. She was a member of the Zion church at Louis Corners and the Ladies Aid society of the congregation. Survivors are two sons, John of Louis Corners and William of Wauwatosa; six daughters, Mrs. Armie Voigt of New Holstein, Mrs. H.W. LaButzke of Milwaukee, Mrs. H.L. Tolksdorf and Mrs. Ida Koepp of Grafton, Mrs. Walter Gruett of Thiensville and Mrs. Herman Bolle of Sheboygan; sister, Mrs. Minnie Meyer of Thorp, two brothers, Fred of Sheboygan, and Charles of Newton; 24 granchildren and 24 great grandchildren. JOHN W. THEEL cemetery #86 Funeral services were held Monday for John W. Theel, 73, a retired Town of Schleswig farmer, who died Friday morning at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Theel, Route 2, Elkhart Lake, where he had been visiting since Thursday. The services took place at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home with the Rev. LuVerna Bauer, pastor of Unity Christian Fellowship Church in Sheboygan officiating. Burial was made in Union Cemetery, Town of Schleswig. Born on January 7, 1890, in the Town of Schleswig on the Theel homestead farm, he was a son of the late William and Anna Theel. He received his education in the district school at Louis Corners and married the former Lilli Markward of the Town of Schleswig at Zion Lutheran Church at Louis Corners on December 2, 1914. The couple settled on the Theel farm which they operated until 1946 when they moved to the present home in the Town of Schleswig. His wife died in May of this year. He was a member of Unity Church in Sheboygan. Survivors are three sons, Eldon of rural Fond du Lac, Elroy of rural Elkhart Lake, Harvey of rural Kiel; 13 grandchildren, and six sisters, Mrs. Armie Voigt of rural New Holstein, Mrs. Stanley Webster of Milwaukee, Mrs. Gustave Possin of Waupun, Mrs. Herbert Toldsdorf of Grafton, Mrs. Walter Gruett of Thiensville, and Mrs. Herman Bolle of Sheboygan. LILLIE THEEL cemetery #86 Mrs. John W. Theel, 67, of R. 2, Kiel, died early today at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient two weeks. The former Lillie Markwardt, she was born in Two Rivers, Aug. 2, 1895, a daughter of the late Henry and Minnie Markwardt. As a child she moved with her family to a farm in the Louis Corners area east of Kiel. She attended school at Louis Corners and was married to Mr. Theel, Dec. 2, 1914, in Zion Lutheran Church there. The couple operated the Theel home farm east of Kiel until retiring in 1946. Mrs. Theel was a member of Unity Christian Fellowship Church in Sheboygan. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three sons, Eldon of Fond du Lac, Elroy of Elkhart Lake, and Harvey of Rural Kiel; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Melvin, Sturgeon Bay, and a sister, Mrs. Waldo Graf, Rural Kiel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel, with the Rev. LaVerna Bauers, pastor of Unity Church, officiating. The deceased was born in Germany on November 6, 1862, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Theel. He came to this country in 1868 with his parents, and they immediately settled on a farm near Louis Corners, the place which is now owned by John Theel. He was married to Miss Anna Voss on November 22, 1888, and they settled on the Theel homestead, where they resided until 1915, when they moved to this city. Survivors are his wife and eight children: William and Mrs. Herbert (Erna) Tolksdorf of Milwaukee; John of Louis Corners; Mrs. Armie (Frieda) Voigt of the town of Schleswig; Mrs. Henry (Amanda) LaButzke and Mrs. Herman (Annie) Bolle of Sheboygan; Mrs. Ida Koeppe of Waupun, and Mrs. Walter (Hattie) Gruett of Thiensville. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Ernestina Reseburg, resides in California. Funeral services were held this Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, and at 2 o'clock at the Trinity Lutheran church, with the Rev. H. O. Grunwald officiating. Burial was made in the Union cemetery near Louis Corners.

AMBROSE THEIS cemetery #63 Ambrose (Abee) Theis, 60, of the Village of Mishicot, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lambert Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. The Rev. Earl Brouchoud will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Theis was born Sept. 23, 1912, at Birnamwood, son of the late George and Amanda Opper Theis. He married Mary Sexton in 1936 at Shawano. He was a truck driver for the former Western Condensing Co. for 15 years. He operated the Theis Shell Oil Co., Mishicot. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society of the church. Wera, was born Aug. 18, 1898, at Chicago, daughter of the late John and Lucille Napientek Wera. She was married to William J. Theisen Nov. 4, 1919, at Hatley, Wis. He preceded her in death Dec. 28, 1958. She had been employed at Schuette Bros. Co., of Manitowoc until her retirement in 1963. She was a member of Manitowoc Senior Citizens and Christian Mothers Altar Society of Holy Innocents Parish. PETER THEISEN (d. 1917) cemetery #39 DEATH CLAIMS AGED KOSSUTH PIONEER, AGED 79 Peter Theisen, Father of Leo Theisen, this City, Passes Away Peter Theisen, pioneer resident of Kossuth, for years engaged in farming, is dead at his home there at age of 79 years. Mr. Thiesen’s death occurred yesterday, following an illness of several weeks. Mr. Thiesen was born in Germany, March 27, 1838, and came to Manitowoc county at the age of 17 years and has since made his home here. Decedent is survived by his widow and eight children, twenty grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The children are Charles of Antigo, John of Rockwood, Anton of Branch, Mrs. M. Degenhardt of St. Louis, Mrs. D. McCormick of Sterling, Ill.; Lee, this city; Thomas, Reifs Mills and William of Milwaukee. JOHN THEOBALD cemetery #83 John J. Theobald, 58, of 716 Milwaukee street, Kiel, passed away at his home last night. He retired in good health but was found dead in bed by his wife at 3:45 a.m. today. He was born at Stacyville, Iowa, on July 23, 1889, the son of Joseph and Anna Blunion Theobald. He came to Wisconsin about 37 years ago and on October 7, 1913, was married to Miss Elizabeth Schoenborn at Marytown. The couple resided in Town New Holstein until the fall of 1922 when they moved to Kiel. At Kiel the deceased was employed by the A.A. Laun Furniture company for 10 years and for the past 15 years had served as a foreman at the Kiel Mill Works. He was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic church. The survivors are: his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Helmuth (Marie) Lechler of Kiel, Mrs. Norbert (Helen) Janty of Elkhart Lake and Mrs. Robert (Lydia) Bunge of Kiel; two grandsons; his step-mother, Mrs. Anna Miller of Stacyville, Iowa; a half-brother, Peter Theobald, and a half-sister, Mrs. Joseph Mayer of Osage, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the Meiselwitz Funeral home in Kiel and at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic church. The Rev. Frank X. Kheil will officiate and burial will be made in the church cemetery. Members of the Holy Name society of the church will recite the rosary at the church at 7:30 p.m. on Monday for their deceased member. ROSE THEYERL cemetery #43 Mrs. Rose A. Theyerl, 76, of Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc, died Thursday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Very Rev. Clement Kern will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mrs. Theyerl, nee Rose A. Rott, was born Sept. 26, 1893, at Jericho, Wis., daughter of the late Anton and Anna Wettstein Rott. She was married to Mathew Theyerl at Chilton in 1914 and he died in 1963. She had been employed for 23 years by Mirro Aluminum co., and was a member of the Christian Mothers and Senior Citizens. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Rudolph (Pearl) Stockinger Jr., and Mrs. John (Alice) Pekarske of Manitowoc; a brother, Vernon, of Francis Creek; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Hoffman, of Charlesburg; 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. WALTER P. THEYS cemetery #43 Walter P. Theys, age 70, of 2823 12th St., Two Rivers, died on Sunday morning, Dec. 14, 2008, at his residence. Walter was born on July 7, 1938, in the town of Montpelier, Kewaunee County, son of the late John and Laura (Jadin) Theys. He was a graduate of Kewaunee High School, class of 1956. On Oct. 8, 1960, he married Judy Ann Dhuey at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Algoma. Walter grew up in Kewaunee, and later moved to Two Rivers. He was an Automatic Press Operator for 40 years with Mirro Company, retiring in 2002. Walter was a former member of the Holy Name Society. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) Walter was preceded in death by his father-in-law: Eugene (Jim) Dhuey; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Hubert and Mary Ann Theys, and Louis Theys; and an infant sister: Jenny Theys. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William O'Brien, with entombment at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc. CHESTER A. THIEDE CEMETERY #89D Chester A. Thiede, 61, of 3142 Memorial Dr., Two Rivers, died Thursday night at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital. He had been ill a week. Mr. Thiede was born at Two Rivers March 6, 1910, son of the late August and Gertrude Staudt Thiede. He was graduated from the old Roosevelt Grade School and attended Two Rivers High School. For a number of years he was associated with his father in the production of fish oil. Since 1941 he was an employee of Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., Manitowoc. Besides his wife, the former Edna Taddy, whom he married at Two Rivers Sept. 1, 1925, he leaves three daughters, six sons, a sister, Mrs. Dewey Bendt of Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother, Ralph, Medford, Wis., and 21 grandchildren. He was a veteran of the Civil War, for which service he drew a pension. His well-attended funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the Evangelical Church. He is survived by a widow and several grown children in good circumstances.


METHA THIEDEMANN cemetery #85 Mrs. William Thiedemann, 65, died at her Town of Schlewig, Manitowoc County, farm home Saturday afternoon. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage following a stroke. The former Metha Sasse, she was born in Plymouth, Oct. 15, 1892, a daughter of the late Carl and Marie Kelch Sasse. Her marriage to Mr. Thiedemann took place in Milwaukee, July 15, 1914. The couple lived in Plymouth and later farmed in the Town of Rhine until moving to the Schleswig farm 27 years ago. Surviving are the husband; two daughters, Mrs. Melvin Dedering (Hertha), New Holstein, and Mrs. Eugene Johnson (Janet), Portland, Ore.; two sons, Alfred and Henry, Schleswig; and eight grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Homer Cruikshank, Milwaukee, and Mrs. John Magritz, Watertown. She was preceded in death by a son in infancy; a daughter, Mrs. Armin Dedering (Margaret), in 1954; three brothers, and one sister. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 1997, at 7 p.m. at the Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, Sister Marlene Greatens will officiate with burial in Michicot Public Cemetery. She was born June 2, 1913, in Francis Creek, daughter of the late Frank and Frances (Hutterer) Reif. She married Herman M. Meyer in 1935, and he preceded her in death September 25, 1952. She later married Harry D. Thielbar on July 7, 1954, and he preceded her in death November 27, 1966. She was employed by the Globe Laundry, Mishicot Cheese Factory and was engaged in farming for many years. She enjoyed baking bread and making pies, crocheting doilies and gardening. She enjoyed polka music and dancing, spending time with her cats, and watching Little House On The Prairie. Survivors include a daughter, two grandchildren, three sisters, one brother, and a brother-in-law. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Leo, Ervin, Raymond, Elmer, Frank Jr., and Richard; sisters, Doris Sutter and Agnes Post; and her special cat, Brandy. HENRY THIELBAR cemetery #63 From the Manitowoc Herald Times, Monday, June 10, 1957 Henry Thielbar, 76, of Rt. 1, Two Rivers, Town of Mishicot, prominent in church and cooperative circles for many years, died at 7 p.m. Sunday at his home after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mishicot, the Rev. Edward Zell officiating. Interment will be in the Mishicot Public Cemetery. Mr. Thielbar was born at Hoyer-Hagen, Germany, May 17, 1881, son of the late Dietrich and Marie Bulman Thielbar. When he was seven years old the family brought him to this country and settled on a farm in the town of Mishicot where he had resided since. On June 27, 1907, he married the former Alvina Blum, who survives him. For 42 years Mr. Thielbar had been a director of the Saxonburg Co-operative Cheese Factory, has served also for 27 years as the association's president. He also held the directorship of the Co-operative Oil Assn. and was also on the board of directors of the Twin Rivers Cooperative and its shipping association. For many years president of the Mishicot Public Cemetery Assn. he was also a trustee of St. Peter church for a period of years. Treasurer of the Pine Grove district school a number of years he also served as the town's road foreman for 22 years. Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, two sons, 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Side Woman is Called Found by neighbors ill in her home at 1007 Hamilton street Saturday and removed to the hospital for care, Mrs. Dorethea Thiele, one of the early settlers of the county, died early today, failing to rally from the attack which had seized her while she was alone in her home. Mrs. Thiele made her home alone for years and was stricken early Saturday morning, neighbors who visited the home, finding the aged woman critically ill. Mrs. Thiele who was 87 years of age, came to Manitowoc in 1847, from Buckenburg, Germany, her native home, being the first of her family, the Eberhardts to locate here. Mrs. Thiele is the last of her immediate family, her husband and children having preceded her in death some years ago. Four brothers, Henry, Ernst, August and William Eberhardt survive. H.C. THIELE, MD cemetery #44 From Der Nord Westen, 06 Dec. 1888: Sudden death in the evening of 29 Nov. of Dr. H.C. Thiele of a heart attack. He had just participated in Communion at the Methodist Church. Dr. Thiele was born 22 Apr. 1861 in Town Newton where his parents operated a farm. He helped his folks on that farm until he was 17, when he enrolled in Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. Upon graduation, he enrolled at Rush Medical College in Chicago to study medicine and did his residence at Cook County Hospital. For a while he practiced in Desplaines, but because of illness moved to the South, eventually coming back to his roots here in Manitowoc in April. JOHANN M. THIELECKE cemetery #87 John M. Thielecke, 81, retired town of Schleswig farmer, passed away at his home in the town of Schleswig Sunday afternoon. He had broken a knee-cap in a fall a month ago and suffered a stroke last week. Born in Slinger, Wis., in March 1867, Mr. Thielecke came to the town of Schleswig with his mother as a youth and settled on the present farm. His father died while he was still a child. He was married in 1902 to Katherine Adolph of the town of Meeme. She died in 1933, and since that time Mr. Thielecke ahd been living on the farm with a nephew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Krueger. Mr. Thielecke is survived by 17 nieces the nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Zion Lutheran church at Louis Corners, the Rev. Besides her husband she is survived by two brothers, Anthony Adolph, Town Meeme and Peter Adolph, Clear Lake, South Dakota, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Scharenbrock, Sheboygan, and Mrs. John Scharenbrock, Willard, Wis. JULIUS THIELEKE cemetery #87 Julius Thieleke, aged 84, passed away at 7:45 p.m. Saturday at the family residence in the town of Schleswig, one mile west of School Hill, after having been ill for some time. Mr. Thieleke was born in Milwaukee, on December 6, 1851, and when three years old he moved with his parents to Slinger, Wisconsin and at the age of 14 years moved to Kankakee, Illinois, where he was employed for 14 years. On February 26, 1881, he was married to Elizabeth Schumacher in Howards Grove, the marriage being solemnized in the town of Mosel. Mr. and Mrs. Thieleke located on their present farm homestead which they later disposed of to their son, Walter and with whom they have continued to make their home. His wife preceded him in death on December 23, 1926. Four sons were born to the couple, all of whom are living. They are: Rudolph Thieleke of Sheboygan, Edwin of the town of Schleswig, Elmer of the town of Mosel, and Walter on the homestead. There are also 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, August of Erie, Pennsylvania, and John of the town of Schleswig. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 1 o’clock, from the family residence in the town of Schleswig, and at 2 o’clock services will be held at the Zion Ev. Lutheran church at Louis Corners, with the Rev. H. O. Grunwald officiating, and burial made in the adjoining church cemetery. - 1935

RALPH J. THIELEN cemetery #43 Ralph J. Thielen, age 94, formerly of 2000 Clark St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 29, 2006, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc. He was born Sept. 17, 1912, in Manitowoc, son of the late Henry and Katherine (Loef) Thielen. On May 27, 1940, he married the former LaVerne Kozlovsky at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death July 30, 1994. Ralph was a lifelong tavern keeper and was also employed with Brandt Bus Company, as a school bus driver for the local high schools for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and Eagles Aerie 706. Ralph was an active member of the Manitowoc Lincoln High Boosters Club, and enjoyed Lincoln and Roncalli sporting events. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law; two grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; and a sister-in-law. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Harold and Everett Thielen. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian burial will be the Rev. Dave Hoffman, with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Thielke, 47, Louis Corners, who died at home Tuesday morning, will be held Friday afternoon at 12:30 o’clock in the C. J. Meiselwitz Funeral home, Kiel, and at 1 o’clock in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran church, Louis Corners. The Rev. Harold O. Grunwald will officiate, with interment in the church cemetery. Mr. Thielke was born in Louis Corners, town of Schleswig, on the farm on which he spent his entire life, and he was the only child of Frank and Minnie Voigt Thielke. On June 3, 1916, he was married to Miss Meta Winkel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Winkel of Schleswig township, and they made their home on the Louis Corners Guernsey farm. In 1915 he went into partnership with his father, and for the past 15 years the Thielke family has operated a milk route in Kiel. Mr. Thielke was treasurer of the Zion Evangelical Cemetery association, and had been a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran church of Louis Corners for the past 26 years. Thielke, 47 Arthur Henry Thielke, aged 47, a resident of Louis Corners, and well-known Manitowoc county Guernsey breeder, passed away early Tuesday morning at his home after a lingering illness. The deceased was born on the homestead farm in Schleswig on November 8, 1894. His wife is the former Meta Winkel. As a young man he joined his father in operating the dairy farm, which comprised nearly 300 acres. In 1915 the elder Thielke took his son, Arthur into partnership with him and the name of the farm was registered, as one of the first in the county. The Thielkes also established a milk route in Kiel, which has many patrons. Survivors are his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Henry (Evelyn) Weinberger at home, the Misses Gladys and Elaine Thielke of Chicago, and the Misses Carol and Jeanne at home; and his father, F.F. Thielke. His mother, the former Minnie Voigt, passed away March 15, 1940. Funeral arrangements have been made for Friday, 12:30 at the Meiselwitz Fuenral Home, and 1 o'clock services will be conducted at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran church in Louis Corners, with the Rev. BERTHA THIELKE cemetery #82 Kiel—(Special—Mrs. Carl Thielke 78, died at her home, 919 N. Sixth Street, Tuesday. She had been ill six months. Nee Bertha Figge, daughter of Henry and Fredericka Figge, she was born in Plymouth on May 22, 1863. Her father died when she was 10 months old and her mother married Anton Klemme of town Schleswig two years later. She was better known as Bertha Klemme. On January 11, 1885, she married Mr. Thielke on the old Carl Thielke homestead, five miles east of Kiel, in town Schleswig, the Rev. Martin Denninger, then pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Louis Corners, performing the ceremony. The couple lived on the homestead for 33 years and in November 1917, sold it and moved to the present residence. Mrs. Thielke was the last surviving member of a family of eight children. Only survivor is an adopted daughter, Mrs. Emma Milkert, formerly of ‘Chicago, who had been taking care of her mother. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran church, of which both Mrs. Thielke and her husband were faithful members, the Rev. Harold O. Grunwald officiating, with burial in Kiel cemetery. Thielke Of Kiel Is Summoned After An Illness Frank F. Thielke, 82, died Sunday morning at the home of his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Meta Thielke, 1331 N. Fifth street, Sheboygan, after an illness of three months. Born in the town of Schleswig on Dec. 30, 1864, the deceased was married to Minnie Voigt on Nov. 24, 1889. Following the marriage, Mr. Thielke operated a cheese factory at Louis Corners and for 45 years, in partnership with his son, the late Arthur H. Thielke, operated the Louis Corners Guernsey farm. He was a member of the Manitowoc County Guernsey Breeders association. He also followed the mason trade. Survivors include the daughter-in-law; five grandchildren; one great grandchild, and a sister, Mrs. Henry Klemme, Kiel. His wife died March 15, 1940, and his only son, Arthur, preceded him in death in September, 1942. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Zion Lutheran Church at Louis Corners. The Rev. Harold Grunwald, pastor, will officiate, and burial will be made on the family lot in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Meiselwitz Funeral home from Tuesday afternoon until 10 a.m. Wednesday, when the body will be taken to the church. MINNIE THIELKE cemetery #87 Mrs. Frank F. Thielke Passes Away Suddenly on Friday Death suddenly claimed Mrs. Frank F. Thielke, aged 71, at 3:45 a.m. Friday, following a very brief illness since Wednesday evening of last week. The many relatives, neighbors and friends were shocked when news of her death spread through the vicinity. Mr. and Mrs. Thielke on November 24, 1939 had celebrated their golden anniversary with a service at the Louis Corners church, and a dinner, where many folks gathered to wish them many more years of happily married life, never realizing that death would follow that occasion so soon. Mrs. Thielke, nee Minnie Anna Voigt, was born the daughter of Frederick and Dorothea Voigt of the town of Schleswig on September 30, 1868. On December 26 of the same year she was baptized. The Rev. Martin Denninger confirmed the deceased on May 14, 1883, and also officiated at her marriage to Frank F. Thielke of Louis Corners on November 24, 1889. Following their marriage, the couple operated a cheese factory in Louis Corners for 11 years, and in 1901 they purchased their present farm home in Louis Corners, where she passed away. She had always enjoyed good health, until the past Wednesday evening. Survivors are the widower; and only son, Arthur, who with his family resides with his parents; five granddaughters; five brothers, Louis T. Voigt of Collins, Theodore and Armie Voigt of Louis Corners, William Voigt of Cleveland, and August of Valders, and one sister, Mrs. Henry Schmidt of Louis Corners. One brother, Arthur Voigt preceded her in death. Mrs. Thielke was a charter member of the Frauenverein, and a member of the Louis Corners Evangelical Lutheran church of Louis Corners. Mr. Thielke is one of the founders of the church. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the Meiselwitz Funeral Home and at 2 o'clock services were conducted at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran church in Louis Corners, with the Rev. Harold O. Grunwald officiating. Burial was made in the adjoining church cemetery. The church choir rendered the following two hymns: "Fass Meine Hand" and "Dein, Wille Herr Gesehe."
