CARL L. SIBENHORN (d. 1978) cemetery #89A Carl Sibenhorn, 89, formerly if 2922 Memorial Dr., Two Rivers, died Friday morning in Lutheran Manor, Milwaukee, where he had resided the past nine years. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. The Rev. Richard Bidwell will officiate and burial will be in Pioneers Rest Cemetery, Two Rivers. Mr. Sibenhorn was born Jan. 19, 1889, in Milwaukee, son of the late Carl and Hedwig Backus Sibernhorn. He moved with his family to Two Rivers as a child where he attended St. John Parochial School. He had been employed with Economy Lamp Company of Sturgeon Bay, Northern Gases of Manitowoc and also with The Metal Ware Corp. of Two Rivers for 15 years. His wife, the former Anne Bode, preceded him in death in 1967. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Sverre (Louise) Torseth of Milwaukee; a brother, Daniel of Two Rivers; four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Beduhn of Manitowoc and Mrs. Hattie Nischke, Mrs. Martha Boprey and Mrs. Louis (Cora) Dufano of Two Rivers; a granddaughter, (private) of Wauwatosa and two great grandchildren. Sibenhorn, 71, of 1520-26th St., Two Rivers, retired superintendent of Mirro Aluminum Co., Plant No. 4 and a leader in Elks activities, died at 10 a.m. Sunday at home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers, The Rev. Ralph Backman officiating. Burial will be in Pioneers' Rest Cemetery, Two Rivers. Mr. Sibenhorn was born Dec. 15, 1899, a son of the late Carl and Edwig Backus Sibenhorn. When he was a young man he began employment at the old Standard Aluminum Co., later Plant No. 4 of the Mirro firm. He learned the tool and die making trade there and later became superintendent of the plant, serving from 1945 until his retirement in 1966. He was a past exalted ruler of the Two Rivers Elks Lodge No. 1380 and had been its chaplain since. He was also a grand lodge officer. An early member of the former Meitersinger Guild Male Chorus, he was its president in the 1930s. He had been a longtime member of Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church. He married Nora Rudebeck at Milwaukee Dec. 10, 1921. She survives him with a daughter, a son, five sisters, Mrs. Margaret Beduhn, Mrs. Martha Boprey, Mrs. Arthur (Hattie) Nischke, Mrs. Anna Caldwell and Mrs. Louis (Cora) Dufano, of Two Rivers; two brothers, Carl, of Milwaukee and Daniel, of Two Rivers; and six grandchildren. ERWIN SICKINGER cemetery #7 Erwin Sickinger, 70, of 1869 N. Cambridge Ave., Milwaukee, a former Whitelaw resident, died Saturday at St. Mary Hospital, Milwaukee. Funeral services will be at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. The Rev. Richard Heymen will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Sickinger was born Nov. 4, 1900, at Two Rivers, son of the late Phillip and Anna Grimm Sickinger. HOWARD F. SIEBENBORN cemetery #44 Two Soldiers Die; County War Toll Reaches 100 Mark Manitowoc county's war casualty toll mumbered 100 today, nearly double that of World War One, with the announcement that T/5 Howard Francis Siebenborn, 31, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Siebenborn, Maribel, has lost his life in Luxembourg on Jan. 9, and Cyl. Norbert H. Kowalski, 22-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Theophil Kowalski, route 2, Two Rivers, died of injuries on Jan. 2 in a parachute jump. Parents of the two soldiers learned their deaths from the War department Wednesday. The casualty figure in the First World war was 59. (Photo of T/5 Siebenborn) In Siebenborn's memory a requiem mass will be offered by the Rev. Frank Svatek at St. Joseph Catholic church, Kellnersville, at 9 a.m. Saturday. Siebenborn was born May 10, 1913 at Maribel, and after attending the graded school of the district, went to Denmark high school. He was associated in the sheetmetal, plumbing and heating business with his father from the time of his graduation until his enlistment into service in June, 1941. He was sent to Fort Lewis, Wash., remaining there until he went overseas in January, 1944. With a tank battalion in Gen. Patton's Third Army, the soldier had been stationed in England and France. His division had received the presidential citation. Married in 1942 In June, 1942, he was united in marriage with Miss Temperance Aragon of Alameda, Calif., at Tacoma, Wash. Besides his parents and wife, he is survived by six sisters, PFC. Evelyn Siebenborn of Women's Army corps in the Philippines, Mrs. C.G. ADDIE SIEBERT cemetery #45 Mrs. Richard (Addie) Siebert, 82, of Route 1, Whitelaw, died unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, March 16, at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hutterer of Branch, with whom she had been living since Jan. 31. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville. The Rev. Paul Blaufuss will officiate and burial will be in Branch Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Siebert, a lifelong resident of the Town of Franklin, was born Feb. 18, 1898, daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Swagel Preston. She was married to Richard Siebert June 28, 1916, the couple then farmed in the Town of Franklin. Mr. Siebert preceded her in death February, 1970. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Verienna and Paul Hutterer of Branch; two sons and daughters-in-law, Alvin and Agnes Siebert of Francis Creek and Raymond and Veronica Siebert of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Julia Reindl of Manitowoc; seven grandchildren, 20 great grand- children and three great great grandchildren. CHARLOTTE SIEBERT cemetery #44 ANOTHER OLD RESIDENT GONE. Mrs. Charlotta Siebert Succumbs To Paralysis This Morning. Mrs. Charlotta Siebert, wife of Wm. C. Siebert, passed away at an early hour this morning at her home on Twentythird (sic) street. The deceased was over 70 years of age and had been a resident of Manitowoc for a number of years. She was born in Germany in 1828 and when quite young came to this country. Death was directly due to paralysis. The husband and one son survive. SYLVIA 0. (BARTA) SIEHR cemetery #16 Sylvia 0. (Barta) Siehr, age 98, who was born in Algoma on Dec. 5, 1903, died Dec. 21, 2001 in Seattle, Wash., of complications from recurrent colon cancer. She had many chapters in her long and fruitful life. In 1925 she married Joseph F. Barta and raised four children. In 1975, seven years after Joe's death, she married Clarence Siehr of Larabee, and enjoyed being grandma to grandchildren of both families. Clarence's death in 1996 brought Sylvia to Seattle where she lived with her daughter. She is survived by her daughter, step-daughter, stepsons and their spouses, and daughters-in-law, a niece, also 10 nieces and nephews, 23 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister: Leah of Casco; and brothers: Hilmore Jacobosky of Two Rivers; and Evan Jaco- bosky of Algoma; and by her three sons: Joseph and James, both of Two Rivers; and Dale of Green Bay. VIOLA SIEHR cemetery #44 Mrs. Leo Siehr Dies At Hospital At Age 20 Mrs. Leo Siehr, 20, of 1312 South Eighth street, died at Holy Family hospital early today. Her maiden name was Viola Dueno. She was born in Manitowoc Dec. 1, 1912. She was married four years ago and the couple have a 3-year-old son, (private). Survivors are the widower, the son, her mother, Mrs. Emil Dueno of this city, three brothers, Earl and Oscar of this city and Edwin of Detroit and one sister, Edna, of this city. The body was removed to the residence of Mrs. Dueno, 1015 Division street, from the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home this afternoon. MARY SIEHRS cemetery #60 MEEME WOMAN DEAD AT AGE OF 96 YEARS Mrs. Mary Seers(sic), a pioneer resident of the town of Meeme and whose life spanned nearly a century of years, is dead at her home there. Mrs. Seers was in her ninety sixth year and up to recently had been in fair health. She was the widow of the late Arnold Seers and is survived by five sons, two of whom reside at Meeme. CHRISTIAN SIEKER cemetery #44 From Der Nord Westen, 07 July 1904: A heart attack Sun. morning took the life of Christian Sieker, an elderly and well known resident of our city. Mr. Sieker had gotten up very early and busied him self for a while in the garden, and as he came back into the house and was sitting down for breakfast, he was stricken. Mrs. Sieker found her husband lying unconscious on the floor. Medical help was quickly summoned but there was nothing more to be done. Christian Sieker came from his Bavarian home to Manitowoc in 1850 and has lived here since. He worked for many years as a ship’s carpenter until advancing age made it no longer possible. JOSEPHINE MARIE SIEKER Miss Josephine M. Sieker, 98, formerly of 1220 S. 11th St., Manitowoc, died Sunday at Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Phipps Memorial Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Gervase Zanotti will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Miss Sieker was born July 23, 1873, at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Christian and Louisa Moessner Sieker. She attended schools in Manitowoc and was a graduate of the old West Side High School. She taught school in Shawano and later returned to Manitowoc where she taught Fourth Grade at West Side School for 10 years. She later was employed at the Manitowoc Post Office for 32 years retiring in 1933. Miss Sieker was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Ladies Society and former Lois Society of the church, a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star No. 196 of which she was past treasurer and member of the Eastern Star Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club of which she was a charter member, served as secretary and was voted Outstanding Business Women of the Year. Miss Sieker was a charter member of the Wisconsin Ornithology Society, a member of the Homemakers Club, the National Association of Retired Social Service Employes, past secretary and member of the advisory board of The Salvation Army and past president and secretary of the Library Board. Survivors include an adopted daughter, Mrs. Walter (Jane) Pitkin, of Manitowoc, three grandchildren, a great grandson, nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. LILLIAN "LALLA" SIEKER Miss Lillian C. Sieker, 77, former Manitowoc resident and a retired principal in the Milwaukee school system died Sunday at Milwaukee. Funeral services will be at ? p.m. Wednesday at Philip J. Weiss Inc., Funeral Home, 1901 N. Farwell at E. Kane Place, Milwaukee and burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Miss Sieker was born at Manitowoc in 1883, daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Croll Sieker, and after entering the education field accepted work at Milwaukee. She taught for 43 years in the 31st Street School at Whitefish Bay, where she subseqently became the school principal. She retired in June, 1953, and was honored in a ceremony by the Whitefish Bay Parent Teachers Assn. ANTON GUNTHER SIELING cemetery #82 Kiel – Anton Sieling had hardly passed away to the Grand Army in his 86th year when two other old-timers followed him. Andreas Greve, who lived a mile from Kiel on a farm, suffered a stroke and passed away this morning. The deceased had reached the seldom age of 90 years. Besides his old age he left a number of earthly friends. John Rades also had a stroke on the same day and died this morning. He reached the age of 82 years. ELISA SIELING cemetery #82 Mrs. William Sieling, nee Eliza Gerkins passed away on Friday morning at 6:30 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Riess. Mrs. Sieling had been ill for the past nine months. The deceased was born September 16, 1855 at Thiensville, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Gerkins. When she was a child, the family moved to the town of Chilton, where she was married July 22, 1877, to William Sieling, who preceded her in death May 2, 1919. The couple resided on a farm near Kiel until 1893, when they became residents of the city of Kiel and operated the Sieling Grocery store there, which now is owned and operated by their son, Fred of Kiel. For the past five and one-half years the deceased has been residing with her daughter here. Besides her daughter, Mrs. William Riess of here, Mrs. Sieling is survived by a son, Fred of Kiel, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Thiel of Chilton, and Mrs. Ernestine Rohn of Pierce, Neb., and a brother, August Gerkins of Randolph, Neb. Funeral services were held on Monday at 2 p.m. at the C. J. Meiselwitz Funeral Home at Kiel, with the Rev. E. L. Worthman of the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church of that city officiating. FRED SIELING cemetery #82 Fred Sieling, 55, well-known operator of the Riverside grocery at Kiel, passed away suddenly Wednesday noon following a heart attack. Although he had been in ill health for one year, the news of his death came as a shock to a wide circle of friends. Mr. Sieling was born in Kiel on July 28, 1895, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Sieling. He attended public school and high school in Kiel, graduating in 1913. He served in the First World War and later became a member of the American Legion and Manitowoc tribe No. 49 of the Improved Order of Redmen. He was married to Margaret Eigenberger Sperb in Manitowoc in September 1922. They resided in Manitowoc where Mr. Sieling was employed by the Quality Fruit Company before returning to Kiel to take over the grocery business previously conducted by his mother. His wife died in September 1946. The survivors include a son, Frederick, of San Francisco; two daughters, Mrs. Lowell (Edith) Freis and Mrs. Willard (Delores) Bahr, both of Kiel, and four grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Minnie Riess of New Holstein, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at the Meiselwitz Funeral home in Kiel, with Prof E. MARGARET SIELING cemetery #82 Kiel—Mrs. Fred Sieling, 55, of 604 First Street, passed away at her home today, following a protracted illness. Daughter of Andrew and Barbara Palenger Eichenberger, the deceased was born Jan. 12, 1891, at Reedsville, Manitowoc County, and was married to Fred Sieling of Kiel on Oct. 6, 1922. The couple resided at Manitowoc for several years before moving to Kiel 25 years ago, where they have since made their home. Mr. and Mrs. Sieling operated the Riverside Grocery store in Kiel for approximately 20 years. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Willard (Deloris) Bahr, and Mrs. Lowell (Edythe) Freis, Kiel; and one son, Fred, Jr., also of Kiel; three grandchildren; six brothers, Louis, William and Fred Eichenberger, Elkhart Lake; Edward, Plymouth; John, Sheboygan, and Joseph of Milwaukee. One sister and a brother preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at the Meiselwitz Funeral home and at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church. The Rev. F. X. WILLIAM SIELING cemetery #82 On Friday, at 8 o’clock a.m. Wm. Sieling, one of the old-time residents of Kiel, died at his home after several years’ illness due to a complication of diseases. The deceased was born in Rothenkirchen, Oldenburg, Germany, October 3, 1844, coming to America in 1870 and settling in Kiel. He was united in marriage in 1877 to Elisa Gerkins, the couple making their home in this village, where they have since resided. He leaves his wife and two children, Mrs. Wm. Riess of New Holstein and Fred at home. One brother and two sisters also survive him. He reached the age of 84 years, 6 months and 29 days. The funeral was held Monday afternoon, from the home, Rev. Mrs. Sielski, nee Elizabeth Powalisz, was born June 16, 1889, at Filer City, Mich., daughter of the late John and Antonia Suida Powalisz. She was married to Michael Sielski in 1912 at Manistee, Mich. Her husband preceded her in death in June of 1960. Mrs. Sielski was a member of the Rosary and Altar Society of St. Mary Church. LILLIE SIEMANN cemetery #82 Mrs. Lillie Siemann, 77, of 406 Sixth Street, Kiel, widow of Charles, died Sunday at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital after a long illness. The former Lillie Ziemer was born in Aigoma on April 2, 1894, the daughter of the late Herman and Henrietta Sparling Ziemer. The family moved to Medford where she received her education. She was married to Mr. Siemann in 1917 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Medford. The couple lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and St. Paul, Minnesota. She moved to Kiel four years ago. Her husband died in 1962. Mrs. Siemann was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel, and its Ladies Aid Society. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Stanley Zielanis, Kiel. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel, the Rev. C. L Reiter, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Kiel Cemetery.
EDWARD SIEMERS cemetery #90 Edward F. Siemers, 66, well-known town of Meeme farmer died Thursday evening at his home after a lingering illness. He was born in 1879, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Siemers, Meeme. He attended the district school and then attended the Sheboygan Business college. At the age of 16 his father died and he left school to assume the farm duties. He later took an agricultural short course at Madison. He was a lifelong member of the evangelical church, being active in the Sunday school, choir and a member of the church board for 26 years. He served as a member of the district school board for 21 years. He was also active and interested in several farm organizations. He married Miss Caroline Prange of Sheboygan Falls and shortly after their marriage the couple moved to their present home. Besides the wife those who survive are; three sons, Walter at the homestead; Edward of Manitowoc; William of Darlington; six daughters, Mrs. Elwood Cadwell of Rising Sun, Ind.; Mrs. Martin Thomas of Delavan, Wis.; Mrs. Alfred Kazmierski of Milwaukee; Miss Caroline of Milwaukee; Miss Gladys of Phoenix, Ariz.; and Miss Dorothy of Phoenix. Three sisters and two brothers survive with eight grandchildren. They are Mrs. Bertha Bierbaum of Evansville, Ind.; Mrs. Emil Wenderoth of Minier, Ill.; Mrs. Henry Fervert of Minier; Walter of Spokane, Wash.; and Fred of Sheboygan. A daughter, Ruth, preceded him in death in 1913. Funeral services will be held at the homestead and at the St. John’s Evangelical Church. The Rev. IDA SIEMERS cemetery #90 Funeral services will be held Wednesday from the home of a son in Cleveland, Wis., and from the St. John’s Evangelical Church, Herman, Sheboygan County, for Mrs. Ida Siemers, 82, who died Christmas Day at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Emma Biermaum, Minier, Ill. Mrs. Siemers, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Ochs, was born at Herman in 1855 and in 1876 was married to Fred a. Siemers. The couple moved to a farm in Meeme, this county. Mr. Siemers died in 1896. In 1913, Mrs. Siemers went to Illinois to reside with her daughter. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Bierbaum and Mrs. Henry Frevert, Minier Ill., Mrs. Daniel Bierbaum, Edwardsville, Ind,; two sons, Fred of Cleveland, Edward of Meeme. PAULINE SIEMERS cemetery #90 Mrs. Pauline Siemers, 74, wife of Fred Siemers, former farm resident of town Meeme, died today at St. Nicholas Hospital, after a lengthy illness. She was born Sept. 21, 1883, in town Sheboygan Falls on the farm home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Ebenreiter. She attended the district school there and was confirmed at Salem Reformed Church, near Plymouth. On Aug. 23, 1908, she was married to Fred Siemers at Salem Church by the late Rev. F. W. Beisser and the couple resided on a farm in town Meeme until 1942. Then they came to Sheboygan and lived here about 10 years. For the past four years they had been residing in Millersville. Mrs. Siemers was a member of St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church at Schwartzwald. Survivors are her husband; one son, Harvey Siemers of Franklin; two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Erna) Krueger, Sheboygan, Mrs. George (Pauline) Sixel, Rt. 2, Sheboygan; four grandchildren; and two brothers, Otto Ebenreiter, Tampa, Fla., and Charles Ebenreiter, Sheboygan. Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church at Schwartzwald. The Rev. E. L. Hennig will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. ALMA SIEVERT cemetery #85 Mrs. Alma Sievert, 74, Town of Schleswig, widow of Edmund, died at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton, Saturday, after a lengthy illness. The former Alma Brocker, she was born July 20, 1897 in the Town of Eaton, the daughter of the late Paul and Lena Kurtz Brocker. She attended district schools. On November 6, 1923, she was married to Mr. Sievert of the Town of Schleswig. The couple lived on the Sievert Homestead farm in Schleswig after marriage. He died in April, 1935. Survivors are two sisters, Miss Bertha Brocker and Mrs. William Koepp, both of Route 4, Chilton. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Meiselwitz Funeral home. The Reverend John F. Baumann, pastor of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ officiated. Burial was in Ucker Road Cemetery, Town of Schleswig.

She was married Nov. 23, 1908, at Two Rivers to Stanley Sievert, who died July 20, 1960. The couple observed its golden wedding anniversary in 1958. She was a member of the Altar Society of Sacred Heart church. The deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Sievert, and was born in the town of Schleswig, July 19, 1898. On November 6, 1923, he was married to Miss Alma Brocker of the town of Eaton, and the couple located on the old Sievert homestead in the town of Schleswig, where they have resided up to the present time. Survivors are his wife, his aged mother, and one brother, George, also at home. SIEVERT 1st husband NEUMANN 2nd husband cemetery #85 Mrs. George Neumann Dies After Operation Following a goiter operation at a Sheboygan hospital Friday, Mrs. Emma Neumann, nee Rades, died Saturday, at the age of 37 years and ten months. The deceased was born September 22, 1889, in the town of Schleswig. At the age of twelve, when her mother died, she began to keep house for her father, fulfilling her duties faithfully until 1907, when she married Edgar Sievert. The couple lived on the Ludwig Sievert farm in Schleswig, and later moved to Kiel, where they lived with Mr. Sievert’s parents. Her husband died June 27, 1919. Her father had passed away four weeks previous to her husband’s death. For 18 months, she was employed as a clerk in the Kiel Mercantile store, resigning in December, 1924, when she took a several months’ trip to California. She returned in February, 1925, and in April of that year was married to George W. Neumann, town of Rhine. She is survived, besides her husband, by one brother, William Rades, Eaton; three sisters, Mrs. Mich. Grasser, Marinette; Mrs. William Paul of near School Hill, and Mrs. Carl Koeser, near Plymouth; Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig Sievert, parents of her first husband; an uncle, Frank Rades, near School Hill, and an aunt, Mrs. Henry Peters, of Black Creek. She is mourned for by numerous relatives and friends. Among her many friends, Mrs. Neumann was highly thought of for her happy disposition, and her readiness in helping others. SIEVERT DIES ON MONDAY AFTER ILLNESS Mrs. Fredericka(sic) Sievert, aged 85, passed away late Monday afternoon at her home at 1020-7th st., after a long illness, and a light stroke suffered only recently. Until 10:30 o’clock Thursday morning the body could be veiwed at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, and from 11 to 2 o’clock Thursday at the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church, at which time funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. L. Worthman. Burial took place in the Ucker Road cemetery. During the services a double quartette rendered the following selections: “Safe in the Arms of Jesus,” “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” and “0 Where Is the Haven of Rest?” The deceased was born in the town of Schleswig Feb. 27, 1861, the daughter of Otto and Fredericka Paul Schulz. She was married to Ludwig Sievert on Dec. 21, 1883, and they farmed in the town of Schleswig until 32 years ago when they moved to the present home. Her husband died Sept. 18, 1932, and two sons, William and Edgar, passed away on Nov. 11, 1932, and June 27, 1919, respectively. Survivors are a son, Herman, with whom she made her home; 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. Henry Spettel and Mrs. Herman Steinberg of this city, and Mrs. Helena Reichert of Manitowoc. He was born in that town on July 26, 1855. The deceased is survived by his wife and two children and a sister, Mrs. Julius Ninmer. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon. Mr. Wm. H. HERMAN SIEVERT cemetery #20 Herman C Sievert, 90, a former Kiel resident and a resident of Chilton Village Nursing Home for the past 2 1/2 years, died Thursday morning at Calumet Memorial Hospital in Chilton, where he had been a patient for the past week. He was born May 8, 1891, in the Town of Schleswig, son of Ludwig and Fredericka Schultz Sievert. He attended district school. Mr. Sievert married the former Edna Brocker on May 8, 1915 at Zion Lutheran Church in Louis Corners. The couple lived in Kiel before moving to the Sievert homestead farm in the Town of Schleswig. They operated the farm until their retirement in 1941, when they moved back to Kiel. Mrs. Sievert died in 1980. Mr. Sievert was a member of St. Peter UCC in Kiel. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Orville (Leonra) Fluhr of Route 1, New Holstein; two sons, Earl and Clarence, both of Kiel; six grandchildren; and 10 great grand- children. LUDWIG SIEVERT cemetery #85 Ludwig Sievert Dies On Sunday Long Illness Fatal To Aged Resident; Rites Are Held Sept. 21 Ludwig Sievert, aged 71, passed away at his home at 1020 Seventh street here Sunday morning at 9:15. He had been in poor health for the past year, and this summer had taken treatments at a hospital at Hudson, Wisconsin for six weeks. The deceased was born, in Uckelmerg, Germany, Sept. 12, 1861. At the age of 4 years he came to this country with his parents, locating on a farm in the town of Schleswig. On Dec. 21, 1883, he was united in marriage to Miss Frederika Schultz of Schleswig, the couple making their home on the homestead farm. From the time of his marriage until the family moved to Kiel in 1914, the deceased had managed four different farms, selling the last to his son William in the fall of 1914. Three sons were born to the couple, of whom one, Edgar, died June 27, 1913. Surviving are his wife, two sons, William of Kiel, Herman of the towa of Schleswig; five grandchildren; a brother, Fred, of Schwamkow, Wis.; and one sister, Mrs. Fred Bratz, of Stanley. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and at 2 o'clock at the St. Peter Reformed church. The service was conducted by the Rev. E. L. Worthman. Burial was in the Ucker road cemetery, six miles northeast of Kiel. Intimate friends of the deceased acted as pallbearers. They were: John Asmus, Herman Wessell, Albert Lueloff, Gustave Duecker, Joseph H. Klein, and Louie F. Steinberg. - Sept. 22, 1932

Sievert Buried In Ucker Road Cemetery Monday Mrs. Marie Sievert, age 76, widow of the late Gustave Sievert, passed away at the family home in the town of Schleswig, 3-1/2 miles Northeast of Kiel, on Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock following a lengthy illness. Deceased nee Miss Marie Schmidt, daughter of the late Christian and Ernestine Meyer Schmidt was born in Braudenburg, Uckermark, Germany on June 15, 1864. At the age of 3-1/2 years, she came to this country with her parents, and the family located in the town of Schleswig where they have always resided. She was married to Gustave Sievert on January 23, 1884, and located on their present homestead. Her husband preceded her in death in 1920, and a son Edmund died in 1935. Funeral services were held on Monday at 2 p. m. at the family residence with burial in the family lot in the Ucker Road cemetery in the Town of Schleswig. The Rev. A. George Schmid of New Holstein officiated at the services. PAULINA SIEVERT cemetery #83 The requiem mass for Paulina Sievert, 74, of the Town of Schleswig (Manitowoc County), who died Tuesday morning of a lingering illness, will be celebrated by the Rev. F.X. Kheil at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel at 10 a.m. Friday. The mass will follow 9:30 a.m. family rites at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in Kiel from 2 p.m. Thursday. The Christian Mothers Society of the parish, of which she was a member, will recite the rosary at the funeral home at 8 p.m., Thursday. Mrs. Sievert, widow of William Sievert, was the former Paulina LaCroix, born at St. Anna (Calumet County), Dec. 10, 1833, a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Dickrell LaCroix. She attended St. Ann Catholic School and later moved with her parents to a Town of Schleswig farm. Her marriage to Mr. Sievert took place at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Nov. 13, 1906. Following marriage the couple operated the Sievert home farm in Schleswig until retiring in June, 1931 when they moved to Kiel. Mr. Sievert died in November, 1932, and she returned to the farm to live with her son, Edwin. Surviving are another son, Adolph, New Holstein; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Susan Johst, Kiel, Mrs. Henry Schram, St. Nazianz, and Mrs. John Schram, Two Rivers; and two brothers, Paul LaCroix, Kiel, and Edward, Glenbeulah. WILHELMINE SIEVERT cemetery #85 Thursday evening at the home of her son Ludwig where she had been staying, Mrs. Wilhelmine Sievert died after suffering a stroke at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 17 days. The deceased was born in Germany and was a long time resident of Town Schleswig. Her husband died twenty four years ago. Four sons and two daughters survive her. The burial took place on Sunday afternoon at the Fischer Cemetery with Pastor Denninger officiating. WILLIAM H. SIEVERT cemetery #83 Wm. Sievert, 48, Dies Thursday at Home Here. End Comes After Brief Illness; Funeral Services Held Monday After a brief illness of only four days, William H. Sievert, a resident of Kiel for only five months, passed away at the home of his mother, Mrs. Frederika Sievert, at 3:15 Thursday afternoon. His age was 48. Mr. Sievert was born on a farm in the town of Schleswig, six miles northeast of Kiel on September 20, 1884. On November 13, 1906, he was married to Miss Pauline LaCroix of St. Anna, after which the couple made their home on the farm where Mr. Sievert was born. There they resided until June 11 of this year, when the couple moved to Kiel to live with the parents of the deceased. His father passed away September 18 of this year. To the couple two children were born. They are Adolph of the town of Charlesburg and Edwin on the homestead farm. He is also survived by his wife, and one brother, Herman, of the town of Schleswig. One brother, Edgar died June 27, 1919. Funeral services were held at the house of Mrs. Frederika Sievert here Monday morning at 9:30, and at 10 o'clock at the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church, with the Rev. Joseph J. Esdepsky performing the last sad rites. Burial was in the church cemetery. The death toll today: ******* For the second time within a space of ten days influenza has brought death to the home of Constance Sievert, 911 South Fourteenth street. Mrs. Anna Muchowski Sievert, wife and mother, passing away last night, aged 48. Only a week ago Edward Sievart, a son, died. Mr. and Mrs. Sievart, formerly residents of Newton for seventeen years, removed to the city four years ago Mr. Sievart engaging in business here and erecting a new home on Fourteenth street. Less than a month ago, on January 14, Mr. and Mrs. Sievart celebrated their silver wedding anniversay. Mrs. Sievart is survived by her husband and three daughters, Emily, Marie and Clara, by her aged mother, Mrs. Mary Muchowski, four sisters, Mrs. Anton Simmet, Mrs. John Engelbrecht, this city, Mary and Rose Muchowski, Newton, and four brothers Matt, Joseph, John and Frank, also of Newton.
