CARL SEIFERT cemetery #14 From Der Nord Westen, 22 Oct. 1908: Carl Seifert of Centerville has died in a Sheboygan hospital from a bladder condition. The deceased, who was born 22 August 1828 in Germany, came to Centerville in the early 70’s where he operated a farm. He is survived by his widow, 2 sons and a daughter.

GEORGE SEIFERT cemetery #86 George Seifert Dies Tuesday Evening George Seifert, age 67, died at Memorial hospital in Sheboygan late Tuesday evening after suffering a heart attack earlier in the day at his home. He resided in the Town of Meeme and was a retired farmer. Mr. Seifert was born February 15, 1893 in Milwaukee, the son of Casper and Theresa Seifert. He moved to Sheboygan with his parents when a young boy. July 31, 1915 he married Ida Rades, Town of Meeme and the couple resided on the Rades homestead farm. Mrs. Seifert died in 1957. He was a member of the Bethel United Church of Christ in Town Herman. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Edgar Rotsted, Sheboygan Falls, Mrs. Fred Hemb, Jr., School Hill, four sons, Raymond of Sheboygan, Lester of St. Nazianz, Willard of New Holstein and Melvin of Meeme; 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two brothers, John and Frank, Sheboygan; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Ourada, and Mrs. Arthur Handrow, Sheboygan. Funeral servies will be held Saturday at 1:30 at the Bethel United Church of Christ, Town Herman with Rev. Carl Freid officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the Meiselwitz funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday. ************ George Seifert, 67, retired Town of Meeme farmer, died Tuesday evening at Memorial Hospital, Sheboygan, after a heart attack earlier in the day. Mr. Seifert was born Feb. 15, 1893, at Milwaukee, son of the late Casper and Theresa Seifert. When he was a boy, his parents moved to Sheboygan where he attended a parochial school. He married Ida Rades July 31, 1915, in the Town of Meeme and they operated the Rades homestead farm there. His wife preceded him in death in February, 1957. Also preceding him in death were a sister, a brother and a grandchild. Survivors include four sons, Raymond of Sheboygan, Willard of New Holstein, Lester of St. Nazianz and Melvin of the Town of Meeme; two daughter, Mrs. Edgar Rotsted of Sheboygan Falls and Mrs. Frederick Hemb Jr. of School Hill; two brothers, John and Frank of Sheboygan; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Ouradu and Mrs. Arthur Handrow of Sheboygan; 21 grandchildren and one great grandchild. LESTER HARRY SEIFERT cemetery #86 Lester H. Seifert, 55, of R.R.1, Sheboygan Falls, formerly of Kiel, died Wednesday afternoon, January 24, 1990 at St. Michaels Hospital, Milwaukee. He was born on February 27, 1934 in the Town of Meeme, son of the late George and Ida Rades Seifert. He graduated from Kiel High School in 1951 and also attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison. On May 31, 1952, he married Bonney Thomas. He owned and operated the former Seifert Manufacturing Company, in Kiel, for many years. He currently was self-employed with Seifert Business Associates. Bonney died July 23, 1989. Survivors include his children, their spouses and his grandchildren, two brothers, Willard (Betty) Seifert, New Holstein; Melvin (Violet) Seifert, R.R. Kiel; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Rotsted, R.R. Sheboygan Falls and Mrs. Roma Hemb, School Hill. (Survivors edited for privacy) He was preceded in death by one brother, Ray. He was a self-made man with a dream and determination to make it happen. HAROLD C. SEILER cemetery #44 EX-SERVICE MAN DIES AS RESULT OF OPERATION Harold Seiler, aged 26, ex-service man of the world war, and son of Mr. and Mrs. John Seiler, N. Eighteenth street, died at the hospital Sunday after an operation for appendicitis, an acute attack of which he suffered earlier in the day, making the operation futil. Decedent was born here Sept. 27, 1894 and had always made his home in the city. He served for a year with the U.S. troops in France. Besides his parents he is survived by two brothers Erwin and Clifford, this city and a sister Mrs. Joseph Mortimer, of Appleton. HAROLD F. SEILER cemetery #44 Harold F. Seiler, 48, of 111 N. Fifth St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Dale Tutje will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Seiler was born July 8, 1926, at Manitowoc, the son of the late Clifford Seiler and Eleanor Seiler Paulson. He attended Manitowoc schools and was a Manitowoc resident all of his life. He married Lillian Lindauer Sept. 29, 1947, at Waukegan, IL. He had been employed at Mirro Aluminum Co., Manitowoc, since 1964. EDNA SEITZ cemetery #44 Mrs. John (Edna L.) Seitz, age 90, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, formerly of 3614 Forest Circle, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center. Edna was born on March 16, 1918, at Forest Junction. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Anna (Loefer) Stanelle. She graduated from high school in 1935. In previous years Edna was employed with Mirro Aluminum. On June 20, 1941, she married John D. Seitz at Crown Point, Ind. Edna bowled in the Women's Business and Professional League for many years. She was a lifelong member of the Senior Center and also was a lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 67 years: Jack; one son, one daughter, two granddaughters, five great grandsons, one sister. one sister-in-law, one niece and nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Elmer Stanelle; and one daughter-in-law: Sally (Burger) Seitz. EMMA SEITZ cemetery #44 DEATH CLAIMS MRS. E. SEITZ, ILL FOR MONTHS End Came at the Family Home at ten Last Night In failing health for several months and during the past three months or more confined to her home, death came to the relief of Mrs. Emil Seitz last night and she passed away at the family home, 1220 Washington street, at 10 o'clock, her death being quiet and peaceful. News of her demise was received with regret by a large circle of friends. Mrs. Seitz, nee Emma Dobbert, was born in this city August 2, 1864, and was married February 26, 1889. Her husband and two sons, Harold, of Detroit and Delmar, this city, survive. An aged mother, Mrs. Hilda Dobbert, two brothers, William, this city and Charles of Milwaukee, and one sister, Mrs. Hattie Hoyer, also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon from the late home under the auspices of the Rebekah lodge of which she was a charter member. Mrs. Seitz was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Boys club and had been active in the work of both organizations. EMIL SEITZ cemetery #44 Emil Seitz, 75, retired business man, died this noon at the home of his son, Del, of 926 South 13th street. He had been confined to his bed for some time and was inactive for years. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Leschke funeral home under auspices of the Odd Fellows lodge. Edward L. Kohls, funeral director will be in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Seitz was born here in 1864. When a young man he took over the management of the Addison House on South Water street, which he operated for 20 years. He went to Chicago where for three years he was an operative for the Pinkerton detective agency. Returning to Manitowoc Mr. Seitz opened a grocery store on Washington street and a few years later disposed of this to open the "Ax Billy" tavern at Washington and 13th street. He took an active interest in municipal politics 35 years ago and was one of the orginal supporters of the late Henry Stolze, Jr., the city's first Socialist mayor. His tavern became the political headquarters of numerous ward groups. He married Miss Emma Dobbert 50 years ago. At her death 25 years ago he retired from active business. His sons took over the Soltz interests after that time. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and the Royal Arcanum. Survivors are two sons, Del and Harold, both of this city; two brothers, Alex of Minneapolis, and Albert of Millbank. S.D. THERESIA SEITZ cemetery #43 From Der Nord Westen, 02 Apr. 1896: Death Fri., after a year long illness, of Mrs. Ignatz Seitz of Manitowoc. A few years ago she had suffered a stroke that left her quite lamed. On Fri. she suffered another stroke and this time brought her end. On Sun. the deceased, who was in her late 40’s, was laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery.

Co. cabinet maker who died early Saturday morning at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital, were at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers, the Rev. Robert Rhyner officiating. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Mr. Sekadlo was born at Van's Harbor, Mich., April 20, 1899, son of the late Frank and Anna Mach Sekadlo. He married Emma Boushek at Casco Nov. 14, 1922, after which the couple moved to Two Rivers. Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, a son, two sisters, Mrs. Jacob Yagle, of Kewaunee and Mrs. Jacob Ledvina, of Stangelville; a brother, George, of Mishicot and seven grandchildren. ANN SEKORA cemetery #89D Ann Sekora, age 83, formerly of Two Rivers, passed away on Wednesday evening, Jan. 16, 2008, at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc. Ann was born on Sept. 9, 1924, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Wengrzyn) Butrymowicz. She was a graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers, class of 1942. After Ann graduated from high school, she was employed at Hamilton's as a secretary from 1942 until 1946, when she married. On Oct. 26, 1946, she married Ted Sekora at the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Ann was a member of the Ladies Organization at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years. She was a collector of cook books; her specialty was canning. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) Ann was preceded in death by three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law: Dorothy Butrymowicz; Evelyn and Warren Moldenhauer; and Frank and Lorraine Sekora. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. GOTTFRIED SELCH cemetery #43 DERANGED BY ATTACK, INFLUENZA, GOTTFRIED SELK JUMPS FROM ROOM AT HOSPITAL, RUNS TO POLICE STATION Mentally deranged, as a result of an attack of influenza, Gottfried Selk(sic), a shoemaker, who was confined at the Holy Family hospital, arose between 11 and 12 o’clock last night, broke the window of his room, which was on the first floor, jumped out, and, clad only in his underclothing, ran down town, and walked into the police station. The officers there removed him to the jail after bundling him up in warm blankets. It is not known whether Selk, who was recovering from the influenza, will suffer any ill effects from his hike in scanty attire from the hospital to the police station. Should pneumonia set in it would probably be fatal to Selk. Mr. Selk is a married man and has been employed at a South Eight street shoe store for years. ROSALIA SELCH cemetery #44 The remains of Mrs. Rosa Selch, a former resident of the city, who died in Chicago Saturday, were brought here for burial Monday, interment being had at Evergreen cemetery. Mrs. Selch had been in Chicago for an extended visit and was taken ill there. One son and three daughters survive her. ALEXANDER E. SELK cemetery #63 From Der Nord Westen, 24 Apr. 1879: Death by suicide of A.G. Selk, age 65, in Mishicott last Sun. evening by self inflicted gunshot. He had been ill for a long while. He was the father of local merchant Christian Selk. Burial was on Tues. with the funeral sermon delivered by Mr. Hubert Falge of Manitowoc.

CHRISTIAN SELK cemetery #44 DEATH CALLS A PIONEER. Christian Selk, for forty-seven years a highly respected resident of the city and well known throughout the county, passed to his final rest at the home of his son on South Ninth street Saturday evening. Mr. Selk's last illness has been of short duration, but for a number of years he has been a sufferer from rheumatism and the disease, affecting his heart, caused his death. The deceased, was a native of Germany and was born at Blanzo, Meckelburg Schwerin, July 10, 1827. He was married in 1852 to Sophia M. Juers and they came at once to this country, locating in Manitowoc. Eight children were born to them, six of whom still survive. Mr. Selk was an engineer by trade but had not followed the calling for a number of years. Up to within a few years of his death he was employed in various capacities, mostly in connection with city work. He was of a quiet disposition, kind, honorable and honest, he enjoyed the esteem and respect of all. One son resides at Two Rivers and one is employed in Chicato, the other children reside in this city and for a time the old gentleman had made his home with his son, Herman. The funeral will be held from the home at 1411 South Ninth street tomorrow at 2 o'clock, and the interment will be at Evergreen. SOPHIA SELK cemetery #44 Mrs. Christian Selk, for 55 years a resident of Manitowoc county and one whose life work covered a period of 72 years, died at her home, south Ninth street this city, at 4 o’clock this morning after an illness of but two days. Pneumonia proved an irresistible foe to the enfeebled constitution and death soon claimed the patient. Mrs. Selk was born in Germany and came to this city in early youth. She was a woman possessed of a kindly heart and was dearly beloved by her family and friends. Her husband died two years ago and six children are sole survivors. They are Mrs. Thos. CONSTANCE I. SELKE cemetery #43 Constance I. Selke, age 53, of 1210 Marshall St., Manitowoc, died Friday December 8, 2006 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. Constance was born on October 5, 1953 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, daughter of Kenneth Joseph and Irene (Dickman) Rhines. She was a graduate of Lightfoot School in Sheboygan Falls, class of 1972. On February 13, 1982 she married Robert K. Selke in Sheboygan. Constance was employed by Bemis Manufacturing Company in Sheboygan Falls before working in housekeeping at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. She was formerly a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc, and currently a member of St. Francis of Assisi- Grand Ave. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday December 18, 2006 at St. Francis Assisi on Grand Ave. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Daniel Felton. SELLE, 67, GETS SUMMONS Ill For 12 Years; Funeral Will Be Held On Tuesday Mrs. Julius Selle, 67, nee Anna Lulloff, died at her home, 1905 Franklin street, this morning following a lingering illness. Mrs. Selle had been ailing for almost 12 years. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 from the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home and, at 2 o'clock from the Liberty Lutheran church, town of Liberty. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Born Feb. 22, 1869, in the town of Schleswig, Anna Lulloff married Julius Selle 47 years ago. Until seven years ago the couple lived on a farm in the town of Liberty. They retired and moved to Manitowoc. Survivors include the widower, a son, Emil, on the homestead farm, a daughter, Mrs. Otto Leider of Manitowoc: three brothers, August of Vaiders. Fred of Quarry aud Albert of Kiel; two sisters, Mrs. Louis Kirchoff of Manitowoc and Mrs. Theodore Lulloff of Newton: three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. CARL SELLE cemetery #40 Carl Selle, a well known farmer of Liberty, died at his home there last night at the age of 57 years. Mr. Selle had been a sufferer from heart trouble for two years but his death was unexpected. He is survived by a widow and four children. EMIL SELLE cemetery #70 Emil W. Selle, 90, of Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc, formerly of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, died Thursday afternoon at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Newtonburg. The Rev. A.T. Degner will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Selle was born Jan. 23, 1882, in the Town of Newton, son of the late William and Marie Baryenbruch Selle. He farmed in the Town of Newton all his life. He married Frida Wegner May 11, 1907, at St. John Church, Newtonburg. His wife preceded him in death Aug. 1, 1938. Survivors include two sons, Edmund, of Valders and Alfred, of Rt. 1, Valders, a sister, Mrs. Bertha Vogt, of Manitowoc, six grandchildren and two great grand- children. FRIEDERICKE SELLE cemetery #40 Fredericke, widow of William Selle, pioneer resident of the town of Liberty passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Auguste Lemke, yesterday aged eight-four years, the inffirmities of age causing her death. She was born in Germany, April 7, 1836, and came to this country and county with her husband in 1866, locating in the town of Liberty. Besides Mrs. Lemke, one son, Julius Selle, survives her, also eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. JULIUS SELLE cemetery #40 JULIUS SELLE PASSES AWAY Heart Attack Proves Fatal To Retired Farmer Here Julius Selle, 70, retired farmer, died suddenly of a heart attack Monday afternoon at the home, 1905 Franklin street. Mr. Selle had been out for a walk during the afternoon. When he came home he sat down in a chair to rest and was stricken. His daughter, Mrs. Otto Leider, who was at the home, summoned a physician. Mr. Selle died in a few minutes. Funeral Thursday Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m., from the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home and at 2 o'clock from the Trinity Lutheran church, Liberty. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Selle was born in Germany, Jan. 1, 1860. While a child his family immigrated to America and located at Liberty. He took up farming, later assuming charge of the homestead farm which is now operated by a son, Emil. Forty-seven years ago Mr. Selle married Miss Anna Lulloff. Seven years ago Mr. and Mrs. Selle retired and moved to this city. Mrs. Selle died last July. Survivors are a son, Emil, Liberty; a daughter, Mrs. Otto Seiler(sic), city; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The body may be viewed at the funeral home. ANTON SELSEMEYER cemetery #44 From Der Nord Westen, 12 Mar. 1896: Death yesterday morning, quite suddenly, of the well-known cigar manufacturer, Anton Selsemeyer. The deceased was preparing to make an early trip into the country and asked his wife to make some coffee. When she went to tell him that the coffee was ready, she found that he was dead in bed, having suffered a heart attack. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 5 grown children from his first marriage. The funeral will take place Saturday.

She was the wife of well-known resident Anton Selsemeyer. She and her husband came to America in 1852 and she leaves her husband with 5 grown children. The burial will take place tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the city cemetery.


ARWIN SEMPH cemetery #90 Arwin W. Semph, 54, forced by failing health to resign as treasurer of the Town of Herman about three weeks ago, died early today at the Plymouth Hospital following a lingering illness. Mr. Semph, who resided at Franklin, had also served the town previously as constable and tax assessor. He was born June 21, 1898, in Herman, a son of Mrs. Ida Schmidt Semph and the late Henry Semph. As a young man he worked on farms in the area and was married to the former Miss Vera Jaschob of the town of Rhine on April 3, 1917. The couple lived on a farm near Ada until 1947 when they moved to Franklin. Mrs. Semph died in 1949. During the time he operated the Town of Herman farm he was also employed as a field man for the Triple A, and was a member of the Redmen Lodge No. 49 of Kiel. Surviving are three sons, Leroy and Ralph of Ada, and Kenneth of Manitowoc; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Doris) Blackburn of Savannah, Ga., and Mrs. Daniel (Caroline) Boedeker of the Town of Sheboygan Falls; seven grand- children; his mother, Mrs. Ida Semph of Howards Grove; four sisters, Mrs. Robert Meyer and Mrs. Charles Stark of the Town of Meeme, Manitowoc County, Mrs. Otto Zastrow of Sheboygan and Miss Evelyn Semph of Chippewa Falls, and two brothers, Walter and Roland of Howards Grove. He was preceded in death by his father, two sisters and one brother, in addition to his wife. Services will be held at St. John Evangelical and Reformed church, Schwartzwald, with the Rev. PATRICIA SEMPH cemetery #90 Funeral services for Patrical Semph, 2-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Semph, Ada, were held at St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church at Schwartzwald. The Rev. E. L. Hennig, pastor, officiated. Burial was made in Church Cemetery in the town of Herman. Patricia was killed instantly late Friday afternoon when she was struck by a car while crossing Highway 32 near her home in Ada. During the services, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Stuckmann sang two selections, “There’ll Be No Dark Valley” and “When Little Children Pray.” The organ accompanist was Miss Rose Marie Ochs. VERA SEMPH cemetery #90 Mrs. Arwin Semph, 49, nee Vera Jaschob, passed away at the St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan early Saturday morning following a lingering illness. She was born in Kiel on Jan. 1, 1900, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Jaschob. She was confirmed by the Rev. W. Rech at Kiel in 1914 and in 1917 she was married to Arwin Semph. The couple operated a farm near Ada before moving to Franklin about two years ago. The survivors include her husband; three sons, Leroy and Ralph of Ada, and Kenneth of Manitowoc; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Doris) Blackburn of Savannah, Ga., and Carolyn; her father, Herman Jaschob, of Kiel; three sisters, Mrs. Emil Fischer of Sheboygan, Mrs. Calvin Arpke of Franklin and Mrs. Martin Mahloch of near Kiel; three brothers, Edward of Ada, William of Kiel and Alvin of Sheboygan and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1916 and a brother, Edgar in 1932. Funeral services will be held at the St. John Evangelical and Reformed church at Schwartzwald, where she was a member. OLGA SENGBUSCH cemetery #44 Mrs. August Sengbusch nee Olga Ebert,79, of 810 South 16th street, Manitowoc died of a heart attack friday at the Denmark Wis, home of Herman Bruegge, where she had been visiting the past three days. Mrs. Sengbusch was born in 1872 in the town of Maple Grove. For six years preceding her marriage in 1895 to Mr. Sengbusch, she was employed in Chicago. The couple lived on a farm in the town of Rockland 28 years and spent the last 28 years in Manitowoc. They celebrated their Golden wedding Anniversay in 1945. LOUIS C. SENGLAUB cemetery #44 Louis C. Senglaub, 66, a native of Sheboygan County, and former county clerk, city assessor and for years secretary of the county democratic committee of Manitowoc died suddenly at his home in Manitowoc Monday morning. Mr. Senglaub was shoveling snow and the exertion necessitated by the big drifts, it is presumed, caused heart failure. His daughter assisted him into the house but before physicians arrived he had passed away. The Manitowoc News says: “The death of Mr. Senglaub marks the second death of men prominent in democratic politics of the county within a week, assemblyman Carl Hansen’s death last Wednesday proving a shock to the leaders of the party. “The late Louis C. Senglaub was for many years prominent in politics and was one of the leading democrats of this county, having held several town offices when he resided in Schleswig. He was later elected county clerk on the democratic ticket, which office he held for three consecutive terms. He was also assessor for the city several years and also secretary of the democratic county committee. “Mr. Senglaub was born in Sheboygan County on June 2, 1851, and after spending his youth there, moved to the town of Schleswig, in this county, where he erected a store and called the place Louis Corners, which name it still bears. After being elected county clerk 27 years ago he moved to this city to make his home and has lived here ever since. “Besides his widow, the deceased is survived by two sons, Otto of this city, and Rudolph of Chicago, and three daughters, Agnes, Helen and Viola, all of this city. VICTORIA SENGLAUB cemetery #44 Manitowoc—Mrs. Louis C. Senglaub, 80, 502 Chicago Street, died at her home, Thursday, during a heart attack. Mrs. Senglaub, formerly Victoria Stoll, was born at Schwartzwald, Sheboygan county, on April 14, 1851, and moved to Manitowoc when she was a young girl. Her first husband, Fred Strehlow, died several years after they were married, and in November 1873, she was married to Louis C. Senglaub. Mr. Senglaub died in 1918. Mrs. Senglaub is survived by three daughters, Agnes, Viola and Helen all at home; two sons, Otto H. Senglaub, president of the board of vocational education, Manitowoc, and Rudolph Senglaub, Chicago, and five grandsons. A son, Victor, died in 1907. JOSEPH SEPNAFSKI SR. cemetery #43 Joseph A. Sepnafski Sr., 66, of 1406 S. 20th St. Manitowoc, died Saturday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Thaddeus J. Koszarek will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Sepnafski was born April 5, 1905, at Manitowoc, son of the late Anton and Antoinette Budnik Sepnafski. He married Mable Woellert April 23, 1928, at St. Boniface Church, Manitowoc. He founded Sepnafski Meats located at 14th and Washington streets in 1939. In 1946 he constructed a market at 1521 Washington St. which he operated until his retirement in 1963. Mr. Sepnafski was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 706 of Manitowoc and the Holy Name Society of the church. He was also very active in bowling in Manitowoc. Survivors include his wife, two sons, William and Joseph Jr., of Manitowoc, two brothers, Thomas, of Manitowoc and Albert, of Muskegon, Mich., three sisters, Mrs. Albert Naus, of Random Lake, Miss Augusta Sepnafski, of Milwaukee and Mrs. Robert Knoble, of Menomonie, Wis., and eight grandchildren. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Eugene was born May 27, 1930 in the Town of Newton, Manitowoc County. He was the son of the late Anton and Barbara Frozena Sepnesky. Eugene was a long time employee with the City of Manitowoc at Evergreen Cemetery, from where he then retired in 1993. He then became faithful employed at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home for the next 12 years until poor health forced him to retire. Eugene was married to Elaine M. Fricke on Oct. 1, 1955, in Two Rivers. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi attending the Marshall site and was a member of the former St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Manitowoc Senior Center. ANNIE SEVERSON cemetery #41 DIES AT HOME NEAR VALDERS Services For Mrs. Anna Severson To Be Held Monday Mrs. Anna Severson, 80, lifelong resident of the county, died suddenly this morning at the homestead, four miles west of Valders on Highway 151. Mrs. Severson, although not in the best of health for several months, was up and around the house yesterday. She awoke as usual this morning and prepared to eat breakfast in bed. When members of the family brought the meal to her room a few minutes later they found her dead. Funeral Monday Funeral sevices will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. from the home and at 2 o'clock from the Valders West church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Severson, whose maiden name was Anna Marken, was born in Eaton in 1856. She was married to Swen Severson and they located on the homestead farm west of Valders. Mr. Severson died in 1931. Survivors are three sons, John, Nebish, Minn., Samuel and Albert, Eaton; five daughters, Mrs. Caroline Aubol, Mrs. Emma Klein, Mrs. Sophie Wagner, Mrs. Julia Wagner, Mrs. Stella Rusch, all of Eaton; 22 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. EDITH DENK SEVERSON cemetery #44 (with Denk) Edith Severson, age 79, a resident of St. Mary’s Home in Manitowoc since June 2005, previously of 3916 Madeline Lane, Manitowoc, passed away Monday evening, Oct. 10, 2005, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers. Memorial services will be held Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ with the Rev. Jim Klein officiating. Edith was born Dec. 31, 1925 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Florence Pierson Klingbiel. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1944. She married George Denk in 1947 in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death in 1983. She later married Martin Severson on Nov. 23, 1990 in Manitowoc. Edith was a lifetime member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Women’s Guild of St. John’s, friend of the Manitowoc Library, Rahr-West Art Museum, and the Maritime Museum along with volunteering her services over the years with various other local organizations. SAMUEL SEVERSON cemetery #41 SAM SEVERSON DIES Friday Operator of Milk Truck Route To Be Buried On Tuesday Samuel A. Severson, 45, operator of a milk truck route with his brother, Albert, and joint owner of a large farm three miles west of Valders on Highway 151, died Friday afternoon at 5 o'clock at Holy Family hospital after a week's illness. He underwent an operation. He was born Dec. 25, 1891 on the farm in the town of Eaton where he spent his entire life. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Swen Severson. His father died about 15 years ago and his mother two months ago. Survivors are two brothers, Albert, his business partner, and John of Nebisch, Minn., five sisters, Mrs. Caroline Aubol, Mrs. M. Kloein, Mrs. Adolph Wagner and Mrs. Leonard Rusch, all of Valders, and Mrs. Herman Wagner, and an uncle, Ed Severson, of Seymour, Wis. The body will be removed to the residence from the Berge funeral home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from the residence and at 2 o'clock at the Valders West Lutheran church. The Rev. E.A. SWEN SEVERSON cemetery #41 LAST RITES FOR SVEN (sic) SEVERSON TO BE TUESDAY Last rites for Sven Severson, a Manitowoc county resident for 81 years, will be held from the family home near Valders tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock and from the West Valders Lutheran church at 2:30 o'clock. Mr. Severson died on Thursday after he had been bedridden for several months following his suffering a paralytic stroke last fall. Born in Valders, Norway on May 6, 1849, Mr. Severson came to this country with his parents, Knut and Ingeborg Helgestatter Severson the same year and was only six days old when the family started on the voyage to America. The family settled near Valders the early part of September, 1849 and Mr. Severson spent his entire life in and around the vicinity of Valders. On Nov. 29, 1876 he married Annie Marken who with eight children, Mrs. Carl Anbol, Blaisdell, N. Dakota; Mrs. Michael Klein, Chicago; John Severson, Nebish, Minn.; Mrs. Herman Wagner, Mrs. Adolph Wagner and Mrs. Leonard Rusch, all living near Collins; Sam and Albert Severson, living on the family homestead; two brothers, Ole of Milwaukee and Edward of Seymour and 24 grandchildren survive him. Six children preceded him in death. He was a life-long member of the Lutheran church of Valders, being confirmed there at an early age. Rev. R.B.
