JAMES W. REA James W. Rea, 84, formerly of Milwaukee, died early Thursday morning at Park Lawn Nursing Home, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Schneider-Mittnacht Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. William Kuhrs will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Military graveside rites will be accorded Mr. Rea by American Legion Drews-Bleser Post No. 88. Mr. Rea was born Dec. 30, 1888, at Meron, Wis., son of the late Orin and Minnie Jenson Rea. By occupation, he was an operating engineer. He served in the United States armed forces in France from 1917 to 1919. He married Susan Holsen of the Town of Kossuth Oct. 12, 1920, at Francis Creek. He was a member of the Operating Engineers and American Legion of Milwaukee and former member of St. Augustine Catholic Church of Milwaukee and the Holy Name Society of the church. ALICE M. REARDON cemetery #44 Mrs. William R. Reardon, 84, of 511 S. 32nd St., Manitowoc, died noon Thursday, Nov. 29 at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Philip Hoffmann will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mrs. Reardon, nee Alice Margaret Sullivan, was born March 14, 1895, at Milwaukee, daughter of the late Daniel and Bridget Egan Sullivan. She was married to William R. Reardon in 1922 at Michigan, moving to Manitowoc following their marriage, residing here since. She attended Milwaukee County Normal from which she received her teacher's certificate. For many years she taught in the Manitowoc Public School System and later as a teacher at St. Boniface Parochial School. BURTON E. REARDON cemetery #44 Burton (Bill) Reardon, 48, of 1404 Hillcrest Drive, Manitowoc, died Tuesday morning at home. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Leo Schmitt will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Reardon was born March 9, 1923, at Manitowoc, son of Pritchard and Irene Schaden Reardon. He had been employed at Manitowoc Engineering Co. He was a member of Local 516 International Association of Machinists, the Manitowoc Gun Club and also a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy from 1941 to 1947. EMMA REARDON cemetery #44 Mrs. William J. Reardon 79, died Thursday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cornelius Tack in Wyandotte, Mich. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Monday at the Pfeffer funeral home, Manitowoc, the Rev. F. C. St. Clair, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery, Manitowoc. Mrs. Reardon, nee Emma Etersky, was born in Boldt in 1872. She came to Manitowoc at the age of 18, and was married in 1893 to William Reardon. He died in 1941 and Mrs. Reardon moved to Michigan four years ago. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Tack; two sons, William R. and Pritchard J. of Manitowoc; brother, Joseph, of Maribel; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. IRENE REARDON cemetery #44 Mrs. Pritchard Reardon, 71, of 1404 Hillcrest Dr., Manitowoc, died Friday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. She moved to Two Rivers with her parents as a child. She was married to Pritchard Reardon July 25, 1922, at Manitowoc. The Reardons celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in July of 1972. PRITCHARD J. REARDON cemetery #44 Pritchard J. Reardon, 73, of 1404 Hillcrest Dr., Manitowoc, died early Thursday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Richard Verhasselt will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Reardon was born July 25, 1902, at Manitowoc, son of the late William and Emma Etersky Reardon. He resided at Manitowoc all his life. He married Irene Schaden July 25, 1922. She preceded him in death Dec. 8, 1972. Prior to his retirement five years ago, he was employed at Manitowoc Engineering Co, for a period of 52 years, where he held the position of assembly foreman. He was a 25-year member of Masonic Lodge No. 65, F & AM, and was also affiliated with several other Masonic lodges. Survivors include four daughters, a brother, William, and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Tack, of Manitowoc; 16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A son, Burton, preceded him in death in 1971. WILLIAM J. REARDON cemetery #44 William J. Reardon, 73, for 49 years chief steward for the Goodrich Transit Company and several restaurant chains, died at 5 o'clock this morning at his home, 1126 S. 11th Street, after a brief illness. Mr. Reardon was born in London, England, in 1869 and came to the United States as a boy. Forty-seven years ago, he married Emma Etersky, who survivies, and they spent their entire married life in Manitowoc. For 27 years, Mr. Reardon was employed as chief steward for the Goodrich company which operated a fleet of lake steamers. He was employed as chief steward by the Thompson restaurant chain in Chicago for 12 years and in the same capacity by the Schaefer restaurant chain in Chicago for 10 years. He had been retired the last several years. Besides the widow, survivors are one daughter, Mrs. C. Tack of Wyandotte, Mich., two sons, William Jr., superintendent of the Municipal Sewage Treatment plant, and Pritchard Reardon, both of this city; and six grandchildren. The body will lie in state at the Shimek & Schwartz funeral parlors from Wednesday afternoon until the hour of the funeral. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Philip Hoffmann will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Reardon was born March 29, 1896, at Manitowoc, son of the late William J. and Emma Etersky Reardon. He was a Manitowoc resident all his life and married Alice M. Sullivan April 3, 1923, in Michigan. She preceded him in death Nov. 29, 1979. He had served in the Merchant Marine during World War I and was chief engineer on the M.V. Daniel McCool from 1935 to 1938. He also served on other Great Lakes ships. From June of 1948 he held the position of superintendent of Manitowoc Sewage Treatment Plant until his retirement in 1972. He was a 50 year member of Manitowoc Masonic Lodge No. 65, F and AM. RAYMOND REBARCHEK cemetery #89D Raymond Rebarchek, 60, of 2509-14th St., Two Rivers, died Monday morning at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital. Mr. Rebarchek was born April 27, 1911, at Two Rivers, son of the late George and Rose Schroeder Rebarchek. FRANK J. REBITZ cemetery #44 Frank Rebitz, 65, of 4011 Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc, died Saturday evening at his cottage at Sturgeon Bay, Wis. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church Chapel, Manitowoc. The Rev. George Knudson will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Rebitz was born July 11, 1904, at Stangelville, son of the late Wencil and Margaret Zima Rebitz. He attended schools at Stangelville and was a barber at Manitowoc Rapids for 21 years. He married Mildred Kugler Sept. 4, 1933, in Illinois. He was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Men's Brotherhood of the church. BLANCHE A. REDDIN cemetery #44 Mrs. Thomas E. Reddin, 79, of 806 Summit St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday morning at Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn., following surgery. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10am at St. Andrew Catholic church, Manitowoc. The Rev. D.L. Krembs will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Reddin, the former Blance A. O’Laughlin, was born Oct. 23, 1885, in the Town of Cato, daughter of the late John and Bridget Gleason O’Laughlin. She was graduated from Oshkosh Normal School and Marquette University Nursing School, Milwaukee. Mrs. Reddin was engaged in private nursing at Milwaukee and taught school at Chicago and Manitowoc. She was married to Thomas E. Reddin Aug. 22, 1922, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Green Bay, and the couple established residence at Cato until 1925, moving then to Manitowoc. She was an active member of The Manitowoc Apostolate and was a member and past president of the Catholic Woman’s Club and a member of St. Theresa Society of St. Andrew Church. Surviving are her husband, Thomas E. Reddin, a son, (private), and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Reddin was the last member of a family of 10 O’Laughlins. Mr. Reddin was born Dec. 19, 1914, at Alberdeen, S.D., son of the late Charles H. and Nell A. Pederson Reddin Sr. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, with the class of 1933. He was also a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, with the class of 1939. He was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He married Evelyn Catherine Augustine Dec. 26, 1942, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He served in the field artillery in France with the United States Army from 1942 to 1945. He was employed as assistant retail sales manager of Mirro Aluminum Co., Manitowoc, for 32 years. He was past president of Manitowoc City Council, a member of St. Paul parish and the Holy Name Society, the Knights of Columbus Council No. 710 and the Elks Lodge No. 687. CHARLES H. REDDIN SR. (d. 1942) cemetery #44 Charles H. Reddin (photo), 60, of 412 Park street, former alderman and retired salesman, died Thursday night at the home. He suffered a stroke two weeks ago. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m., from the Sacred Heart church, the Rev. Louis Schorn officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Reddin, son of John Reddin and Susan Cooney Reddin, was born at Cato, April 6, 1882. He attended school in this city and was graduated from the first ward high school. In 1909 he married Miss Nell A. Pederson of this city. From 1910 until 1919 he operated a men's clothing store at Aberdeen, S.D. He located in Milwaukee for two years and then returned to Manitowoc, where the family has since resided. Mr. Reddin was a salesman for a number of years until retiring a few years ago. In 1937 he served the second ward in the City Council. Survivors are the widow; daughter, Mary E. Reddin, a teacher at Wausatosa, Wis.; two sons, Charles N. Reddin, Jr., and Lieut. John N. Reddin of this city; mother, Mrs. John Reddin of Chicago; sister, Mrs. George Schumacher of Chicago; two brothers, Thomas E. and Harry J., both of Manitowoc. JOHN W. REDDIN John Reddin, Pioneer, Dies at 85 Sunday Retired Contractor and Farmer Lived in This County For 80 Years John W. Reddin, 85, carpenter, contractor and retired farmer, died at the home of his son Charles, 412 Park Street, Sunday morning. He had been in failing health for this past year. Mr. Reddin, who resided more than 80 years in Manitowoc County, came to this city ten year ago from Cato. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9am from the Sacred Heart Church with interment at Evergreen Cemetery. The deceased was born in Sullivan County, New York in 1850 and when a child of five years, his parents moved to Wisconsin. His father took up a farm in Franklin, this county. Early in life the deceased learned the carpenter trade and following his marriage to Miss Susan Cooney, Rockland in 1880 located at Cato and engaged in the contracting business. Also Farmed For years he followed this business and a large number of buildings in the central and western sections of this county were erected by Mr. Reddin. In later years he engaged in farming which he continued until ten years ago when he and his wife removed to this city. Survivors are his widow; three sons, Charles and Thomas of this city and Harry, Milwaukee; a daughter, Mrs. George Schumacher, Chicago; and eight grandchildren. Mr. Reddin was a member of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin and the Holy Name society of Sacred Heart Church. The body is at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and may be viewed there until the hour of the funeral. The Holy Name society will meet at the funeral home Tuesday at 7:30pm to pray the Rosary. It was in 1855 that Mr. Reddin came to the county as a child. As a young man he was known as a good carpenter contractor and later as a good farmer. At all times he had the record of being a good citizen. Many buildings in the central and western part of the county were erected by Mr. Reddin. Mr. Reddin's career was a long and active one and his influence and the stamp of his fine character have been placed indelibly upon the community. LUCILE (GERL) REDDIN cemetery #44 Mrs. John N. Reddin, 36, nee Lucille Gerl, former society editor of the Herald-Times, died in childbirth at Racine late Thursday afternoon, where the Reddins were residing. The baby daughter was born dead. Funeral services for Mrs. Reddin will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Pfeffer funeral home, and at 10 o'clock at the St. Boniface church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Mrs. Reddin was born in this city in 1910, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gerl of 1032 South Tenth street. She was graduated from Lincoln high school, attended St. Mary's college at Notre Dame, later enrolled at the University of Wisconsin and was graduated from St. Mary's. She was society editor of the Herald-Times for several years and in January, 1942, was married to Mr. Reddin, also a member of the paper's editorial staff. The latter entered the service shortly after and was commissioned an officer. Captain and Mrs. Reddin made their home at Omaha, Neb., near where the former was stationed and on his discharge they returned to Manitowoc. They lived here for several months when Mr. Reddin was again connected with the Herald-Times, and a few months ago when he took an editorial position with the Milwaukee Journal, moved to Racine. Survivors are the husband; a son (private); parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerl of this city; and a brother, Richard of this city. The body may be viewed at the funeral home until the hour of services. Mrs. Reddin, the former Nell Azora Pedersen, was born July 15, 1879, at Manistee, Mich., daughter of the late Niels and Clara Newcomb Pedersen. She came to Manitowoc as a young girl and was graduated from old North Side High School. She had been employed at Schuette Bros. Store before she was married to Charles H. Reddin, Sr., in 1909. The couple lived at Minneapolis and Aberdeen, S.D., before returning to Manitowoc in 1918. Mrs. Reddin pursued genealogy as a hobby and April 4, 1944, was accepted into the National Society of Magna Carta Dames. Mr. Reddin died in 1942. Mrs. Reddin is survived by two sons, John H. of Milwaukee and Charles II, Jr., of Manitowoc, and a daughter, Dr. Mary E. Reddin, Ph.D., of Honolulu, Hawaii, and four grandchildren. SUSAN (COONEY) REDDIN cemetery #44 Mrs. John Reddin, 88, nee Susan Cooney, former Manitowoc resident, died Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Schumacher of 4325 N. Winchester avenue, in Chicago. She had resided with her daughter since the death of her husband eight years ago. The body will be brought from Chicago tonight and taken to the Pfeffer funeral home. Services will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home and at nine o'clock from the Sacred Heart church, the Rev. Louis Schorn officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Mrs. Reddin, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cooney, was born in Ohio in 1854 and when a child accompanied her parents to Wisconsin. The family settled at Rockland. She was married to John Reddin in 1880 and they located on a farm at Cato. In 1923 they moved to this city. Mr. Reddin died in 1935, since which time Mrs. Reddin has resided with her daughter in Chicago. Survivors are two sons, Thomas E., and Harry of this city; daughter, Mrs. Schumacher of Chicago and eight grandchildren. A son, Charles, of this city, died last August. Mrs. Reddin was a member of the Alter society and the Catholic Women's club of the Sacred Heart parish here. The Altar society will recite the rosary at the funeral home Friday evening at 7:30. THOMAS F. REDDIN (d. 1999) cemetery #44 Thomas F. Reddin, age 74, of 117 N. 9th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday afternoon, April 20, 1999, at Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 23, 1999 at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Gerald Foley with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. He was born November 4, 1924, in Manitowoc, son of the late Thomas and Blanche O’Loughlin Reddin. Tom was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, graduating with the class of 1943, and also attended St. Norbert College. On April 24, 1975, he married the former Alice Behnke at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. In 19?, Tom opened the Reddin Insurance Agency which he operated until his retirement. Prior to that, he was employed with Manitowoc Citizens and Loan Company for 12 years. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Manitowoc, of which he received the Paul Harris Award. Young Miss Hatty Redecker, 18, died in Chicago where she had gone 5 weeks ago. Her body was brought here and buried Sun. from the Lutheran Church. It was one of the largest quantity of flowers ever seen at a local funeral, which was conducted by funeral director A. Klein.


WILLIAM REDEKER cemetery #63 William Redeker (photo), prominent Mishicot citizen, who died Monday noon at the age of 79, had carried mail out of Mishicot and Francis Creek post offices for nearly 29 years prior to his retirement in December, 1934. Of recent years he had made his home in Mishicot with a son Arthur, where he died. Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Peter Lutheran church in Mishicot with the Rev. Edward Zell officiating. Burial will be in Mishicot public cemetery. Born on a town of Two Rivers farm in 1869, Mr. Redeker came to Mishicot 55 years ago. He began his rural mail carrying duties out of the Mishicot post office in February, 1916, continuing there until August, 1918, when he was transferred to a route out of Francis Creek. In July, 1920, he returned to Mishicot where he rounded out nearly 29 years of the postal service. Prior to becoming a mail carrier, Mr. Redeker had operated a dray line in Mishicot. The deceased was also active in community and church affairs, having been a trustee of the St. Peter congregation and of the Mishicot Public Cemetery association. In 1897 he married the former Bertha Blum of Mishicot and the couple celebrated its golden wedding anniversary September, 1947. Mrs. Redeker died in April, 1948. Surviving, in addition to the son, Arthur, are a daughter, Mrs. Norman Burt of Mishicot; two sisters, Mrs. George Johansen of Chicago and Mrs. Robert Lymann of Antigo; two brothers, Frank Redeker of Denver and Henry Redeker Sr., of the town of Mishicot; and two grandchildren. The body is at the Specht funeral home in Mishicot where it may be viewed this evening. CLARA REDEMANN cemetery #82 Mrs. Clara Redeman(sic) Dies At Home Sunday Morning Death came suddenly Sunday morning to Mrs. Clara Redeman, 83, at her home here. Her funeral was held yesterday afternoon, Wednesday from the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, with the Rev. Allen L. Bowe officiating. Mrs. Redeman was born September 29, 1872, in Kiel. She was the oldest daughter of the late William and Ernestine Reseburg. She was married to Charles Redeman of Green Bay June 21, 1890, and they purchased the Charles hotel from her father and operated it until her husband's death in 1905. She worked in Kiel for a number of years at the Arps Millinery and formed a business with Mrs. Ida Gerlach. Later she worked at the Rudolph Heins Millinery, all in Kiel. She was a charter member of the Kiel City Frauenverein which was organized in the living room of her hotel. She was also active in other civic projects and was a member of the First Presbyterian church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Arno Aggen, Aberdeen, South Dakota, and Mrs. Thomas Caldwell, Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren, a sister, Miss Hulda Reseburg, Kiel; two brothers, Walter of Seattle, Washington, and William of Wittenberg. - 1956

He married Mary Theresa Rank Oct. 4, 1922, at Peoria, Ill. She died April 12, 1954. He was graduated from Bradley Polytechnic Institute, Peoria, and pursued the jeweler trade from 1921 to 1925 at Milwaukee, then moving to Manitowoc. He was a veteran of World War I, serving as a private first class with the 4th U.S. Infantry of the 3rd Division in the St. Miheil and Argonne, France operations and also nine months with the Army of Occupation in Germany. His demise being due to the infirmities incident to advanced age. Born in County Claire (sic), Ireland, Mr. Reedy had reached the advanced age of 86 years, fifty-five of which had been spent as a well to do farmer of this vicinity. Until recently Mr. Reedy had enjoyed excellent health, his last illness dating back only two weeks. He had a wide acquaintance and despite his advanced age, evinced, to the last an interest in current affairs. Mr. Reedy is survived by one son, Mr. James Reedy, at home, and three daughters, Mrs. Charles Johnson, Mrs. Thomas Hogan, and Mrs. Frank Mott, all of whom reside in Red Lodge, Montana. The funeral was held at 10 o'clock from St. James church in Cooperstown, with interment in adjoining cemetery. JAMES REEDY JR. cemetery #16 "Dies on farm where he spent his life" James Reedy, one of the best known farmers in Manitowoc county, died at 7:30 last evening at the family home at Maribel after an illness of three months, the death occurring on the same farm where he was born and had made home all of his life. The funeral will be held Monday morning with a solemn high mass service at St. James Catholic church at Cooperstown at 10:30. Father Jacobs officiating. Born March 17, St. Patrick's day, 1860, Mr. Reedy was sixty-four at his last birthday. He was married forty years ago at Green Bay to Miss Catherine Hickey, the widow who with seven children survives to mourn his death. The children are John, Peter, Martin, Michael, and Miss Anna, all of Maribel, Mrs. Gustav Ceaglske of this city, and Mrs. Joseph J. Wotruba of Maribel. Two sisters, Mrs. Mary Johnson of Red Lodge and Mrs. Kate Mott of Billings, Montana also survive him. Mr. Reedy took a great pride in his farm which was recognized as one of the best kept in the county. He was active in his community and a member of the Holy Name Society. Essentially a home man, Mr. Reedy nevertheless made a wide circle of friends in the county to whom news of his death will come as a shock as his condition was not generally known. Mr. Reedy was born March 9, 1894, at Maribel, son of the late James and Catherine Hickey Reedy. He never married. Mr. Reedy was a member of Johnson-Hershman Post No. 363, American Legion, Denmark. During World War I he served with Company H, 3d Battalion, 1st Gas Regiment. ANNA REHAK cemetery #66 Mrs. Anna Rehak, 87, of near Tisch Mills, died shortly before noon Sunday at Maple Crest Sanatorium, Whitelaw, where she had been a patient 10 months. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Mrs. Rehak, nee Anna Podhronikovia. She was married in 1895 in Czechosloviakia to Alois Rehak. In 1913, the family immigrated to this country and resided in the east a number of years before settling in the Tisch Mills area. Her husband died in 1953. She was a member of the Rosary Society of St. Mary parish. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Mary Marken, Mrs. Frances Swejkar and Mrs. Betty Gilbert of Two Rivers and Mrs. Anna Wessler of Chicago; four sons, Louis of Chersea, Iowa, Henry of Kewaunee, Albert of Star Route, Denmark, and Joseph on the home farm; a sister and a brother in Czechoslovakia, 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. JOSEPH A. REHAK cemetery #66 Joseph A. Rehak, age 88, former Tisch Mills resident, entered into eternal life early on Thursday morning, Jan. 31, 2008, at the Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc. Joseph was born on July 31, 1919, to the late Alois and Anna (Podhronikovia) Rehak, and has been a lifelong area resident. He married the former Martha Tolksdorf on Oct. 28, 1950, at St. Lukes Catholic Church in Two Rivers. She preceded him in death on Nov. 12, 1985. He and his wife owned and operated the family farm in Tisch Mills for many years. Joseph was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church-Tisch Mills Site for many years. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Dennis Drury officiating, with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call after 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at St. Isidore the Farmer, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Tisch Mills Site. Mr. Rehbein was born 16 Dec. 1813 in Pomerania, thus reaching the age of 89 yrs. 1 day. He came to America in 1851 and settled in Town Newton where he has lived ever since. He is survived by 4 sons and 5 daughters, his wife having predeceased him 5 yrs. ago. The funeral was held Sun. at the local city cemetery.


JOHN REHBEIN cemetery #28 From Der Nord Westen, 03 Mar. 1904: Death Tues. last week of farmer John F. Rehbein, a resident of Town Gibson, at age 78. The deceased came to Manitowoc County from Germany in the 50's and has lived here ever since. He leaves a widow and one son. The funeral was Sunday.

WILHELMINE REHBEIN cemetery #63 Mrs. Charles Rehbein passed away at her home on Friday, Sept. 20, after a several months’ illness. The deceased was 60 years of age. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and eleven children. The funeral services were held at the St. John’s Lutheran church and the burial took place at Mishicot cemetery. ANNIE REHM cemetery #82 Mrs. L. C. Rehm of Kiel Called to Rest Today Kiel – Mrs. L. O. Rehm, 52, passed away at her home, 431 Broadway, at 5 a.m. today. Mrs. Rehm, nee Anna Katherine Jugenheimer, was born June 7, 1880, on a farm in Town Rhine. Her marriage to Louis O. Rehm of Town Rhine took place Dec. 12, 1903. The couple resided at Sheboygan Falls for one year, at Millhome for three years, in Town Herman for three years and since 1910 at Kiel. Mr. Rehm, a cheesemaker by trade, is the owner and operator of the Kiel Cheese Bandage factory. Besides her husband, Mrs. Rehm is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Arno Balz, and a grandson, Frederick; five brothers, Jacob, John, Henry, Philip and Peter Jugenheimer, all of Kiel, and two sisters, Mrs. Julius Bornefeldt, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Joseph Menne, Kiel. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the Rehm home, 431 Broadway, and at 1:30 o’clock at St. Peter Reformed church. The Rev. E. L. Worthman will officiate and burial will be made in the Kiel cemetery. Members of the Beaver and Royal Neighbor Lodges of which Mrs. Rehm was a member, will attend the services in a body. LOUIS O. REHM cemetery #82 Louis O. Rehm, Prominent Kiel Businessman, Summoned Louis O. Rehm, 65, prominent business and civic leader in Kiel for the past 40 years, died at 7 a.m. today at his home following a lengthy illness. At the time of his death he was president of the Kiel Bandage company, a cheese bandage firm he had founded in 1910. He was a supervisor form the First ward in Kiel and a member of the Manitowoc county board for 28 years. Mr. Rehm also served on the Manitowoc County Fair board for 20 years and served many years as president of that board. Among his many affiliations were the Kiel Fire department, Redmen lodge, Modern Woodmen, Beavers, Eagles, Sherman league, and the Kiel Chamber of Commerce. He was born in the town of Herman, Sheboygan county, on May 24, 1884, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Rehm. He was married to Katherine Jugenheimer of the town of Rhine in 1903, and for the next seven years operated cheese factories in both the Herman and Rhine townships. In 1910 he moved to Kiel where he founded his bandage company. His wife passed away in 1933, and in 1937 he married Mrs. Cora Koerner of Sheboygan. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Arno (Sylvia) Balz of Kiel; a son, Robert, at home; two grandsons; and two brothers, Rueben of Plymouth, and Leslie of Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at St. Peter’s Evangelical and Reformed church at Kiel. The Rev. E. L. Worthman will officiate and burial will be made in the Kiel cemetery. HEINRICH REHME cemetery #73 From Der Nord Westen, 26 Sept. 1895: Heinrich Rehm, a former resident of Town Newton, who has lived for some time in Sheboygan, died there on 19 Sept. of typhus. He was a son-in-law of John S. Luckow of Newton, and had been born in Newton. He reached the age of 28 yrs. and a few months. The deceased was brought to Newton on the 22nd and buried in the Dutch Reformed Cemetery by Pastor Vriesen. He is survived by a young widow and 2 small children.


PAMELA M. REHME cemetery #33 Pamela M. Rehme, age 57, of Manitowoc, died Sunday evening, April 9, 2006, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Kim Henning with burial of the cremated remains in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Highway 310, Manitowoc. Pamela was born Feb. 24, 1949, in Two Rivers, daughter of Caroline Nischke Diedrich and the late Gerhardt Diedrich. She graduated from Washington High School, Two Rivers, with the class of 1967. On Dec. 16, 1967, she married Clarence Rehme. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: two granddaughters, her mother, three sisters, three brothers, She is further survived by two brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law, a very special friend, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Clarence Rehme, her father: Gerhardt Diedrich and a sister: Nancy Diedrich. ELIZABETH REHRAUER cemetery #63 Miss Elizabeth Rehrauer, 67, of Rt. 1, Two Rivers, Town of Mishicot, died on the homestead farm where she resided her entire life, at 12:30 p.m. Monday after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Specht Funeral Home, Mishicot, and at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot, the Rev. George Beth officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Miss Rehrauer was born on May 9, 1888, daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret Silbersack Rehrauer. For more than 25 years she was employed as a saleslady in a Two Rivers merchantile establishment, retiring about 22 years ago. She was a member of the Altar Society of Holy Cross church for many years. Surviving Miss Rehrauer are three sisters, Miss Flora Rehrauer and Mrs. Julius Reis of Milwaukee, and Miss Amanda Rehrauer at home; and four brothers, Emil, Peter and Alvin Rehrauer at home and Rudolph Rehrauer of Rt. 1, Mishicot. She had been treated for a heart condition. She attended St. Luke Parochial School and was married 48 years ago an Aloysius J. Rehrauer, Two Rivers painting contractor. He preceeded her in death 13 years ago. She was a member of the St. Luke Altar Society and the Third Order of St. Francis. Surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Agnes Rau and the Misses Claire and Delia of Two Rivers. Joseph Rehrauer, who has had a throat illness for a long time and recently has been unable to speak, has also died. Most recently he had placed himself in the care of Manitowoc Hospital, but they were unable to help him there. He was buried Friday from the Catholic Church. Rehrauer worked at the Eggers factory…, was 50 years old and leaves a widow and several children.

The young man has been ill ever since the family moved back here from Hilbert, where they had made their home for six years. Besides the parents the deceased is survived by two brothers, Richard and Donald, and two sisters, Judithand Florence.
