CARL NEUSER cemetery #46 CELEBRATE GOLDEN WEDDING ON FARM THEY SPENT HONEYMOON Mr. and Mrs. Charles Neuser, Sr., Wedded 50 Years Ago Yesterday, Observe Happy Anniversary Day On the farm where fifty years ago they spent their honeymoon and where they resided for 45 years, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Neuser, Sr., well known pioneer residents, yesterday observed their golden wedding anniversary and the day was one golden in memories of long companionship and happy married life. Seven children of the couple were present to add to the enjoyment of the celebrants. A family reunion and dinner at which many friends were entertained made the day a most pleasant one and Mr. and Mrs. Neuser were showered with well wishes for many more years of happiness. Mr. and Mrs. Neuser were married at Cato June 25, 1867, and took up their home on a farm at Rapids. The property was an 80-acre tract in that day ? land and the couple passed through the experiences of the early day settlers in clearing the land and by dint of industry, cleared the farm and made it one of the best in the county. In 1902 Mr. Neuser retired and the farm was given to his son, Charles, Jr., who owns and conducts it. In 1912 Mr. and Mrs. Neuser removed to the city and three years later, owing to ill health of Mrs. Neuser, were forced to give up their home and have since made their residence at the hospital. Both are 73 years of age and Mr. Neuser enjoys excellent health and Mrs. Neuser, while not robust, is in fair health. Mr. and Mrs. Neuser are the parents of seven children, two sons and five daughters. The sons are Frank, who is engaged in the meat market business at Green Bay and Charles who resides on the old homestead. The five daughters are all sisters at the convent, having dedicated their lives to ministering to the suffering, one of the sisters having been a nurse at the hospital here since the institution was opened. Mr. and Mrs. Neuser are well known in the county and are held in esteem by all who are acquainted with them and will receive congratulations. Manitowoc Daily Herald, Tuesday, June 26, 1917, Page 1
