ALBERT LAACK cemetery #82 Albert Laack Instantly Killed Near Plymouth Farmer’s Jacket Caught in Flywheel While He Operated Saw Rig Northeast of City Plymouth – (Special) – Albert J. H. Laack, 46, was instantly killed shortly after 2 o’clock Friday afternoon when his overall jacket was caught in the flywheel of a saw rig on his farm northeast of here. Mr. Laack was sawing when the back of his jacket became caught in the flywheel of the four-wheeled rig. He was unable to help himself as the jacket wound up on the axel and pulled him against the wheel. He was then whirled around bodily by the powerful engine and his head struck a heavy bar, fracturing his skull. Coroner H.H. Heiden said today that death was instantaneous. Mr. Laack was popular in the community in which he lived and his death was a severe shock to all who knew him. Born Near Plymouth He was born Aug. 8, 1892, in town Plymouth, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Laack. On July 24, 1920, he married Melinda Zenk, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. Mr. Rech. The couple lived on the present farm home since their marriage. Mr. Laack is survived by his wife; a son, Allen, at home; two sisters, Mrs. William Manthei of Plymouth and Mrs. Herman Klemme of town Plymouth; and by one niece and one nephew. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Wittkopp funeral home here and at 2 o’clock at the Saron Reformed church in town Sheboygan Falls. The Rev. Henry T. Vriesen and the Rev. Herman G. Schmid will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home from Monday noon until the time of the services. ALLEN H. LAACK cemetery #82 Allen Laack, 45, of 1406 School St., died unexpectedly early today at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack. Born in the Town of Sheboygan Falls on June 16, 1925, he was a son of the late Albert and Malinda Laack. He attended Plymouth High School. On Oct. 30, 1943 he married the former Betty Reinecke. Mr. Laack was a salesman for Continental Baking Co. for 16 years. He was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elks Lodge 299, and the Crystal Lake Sportsmen’s Club of which he was president. Survivors are wife; a daughter, his stepfather, Roy Stine, Sheboygan, and a brother, Roger Stine, Sheboygan. JOSEPH V. LABINSKY cemetery #43 Joseph V. Labinsky, 54, of 1231A S. 17th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Thaddeus J. Koszarek will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Labinsky was born Nov. 25, 1916, at Manitowoc, son of the late John Labinsky and Mrs. Josephine Mrozinski Labinsky. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant in Company E of the 127 Infantry, 32nd Division, from Oct. 15, 1940 to Nov. 29, 1944. He also served oversees in New Guinea. Mr. Labinsky owned and operated a tavern at Newton until 1960 when he moved to Manitowoc where he was presently employed at Red Arrow Products Corp. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Josephine Libinsky, of Manitowoc, two brothers, Leo, of Manitowoc and Andrew, of Milwaukee and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lucy will be remembered here by many of the older residents, as a teacher in the old Third ward school, having resided in this city about thirty five years ago. Besides her son John, she is survived by another son, Carmi of Chicago, and a sister, Mrs. H.D. Smalley of Minneapolis, Minn. The remains will arrive here for interment at Evergreen Cemetery probably about next Monday, it being her request to be laid to rest near her father, the late John Langworthy. PETER T. LACHOWICZ cemetery #89D Peter T. Lachowicz, 85, of 1000-19th St., Two Rivers, died Friday night at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be at 10:45 a.m. Monday at Klein and Stangel, Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, and at 11:15 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. James Stamburski will officiate and burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Mr. Lachowicz was born June 19, 1883, in Poland, son of the late Thomas and Barbara Stanul Lachowicz. He came to the United States and to Two Rivers in 1909. On Jan. 20, 1913, he married Amelia Sienzart at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He was employed at Eggers Plywood Co. for several years and retired from Hamilton Mfg. Co. 15 years ago. He was a member of Sacred Heart Holy Name Society. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Schultz of Two Rivers and Miss Helen, at home; a sister, Mary of Poland; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. ELIZABETH LACOSSE cemetery #44 MRS. LA COSSE DIES AT THE NELSON HOME Former Bessie Nelson, Who Was Born Here, Was Ill 18 Months After an illness of 18 months, Mrs. Bessie Nelson La Cosse, wife of Doctor Albert J. La Cosse, former Manitowoc resident, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Horal Nelson, 432 North Ninth street, Sunday afternoon. Born and reared in Manitowoc, the deceased had a host of friends here who were shocked to learn of her death yesterday. Funeral services for Mrs. La Cosse on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Sacred Heart church will be on the anniversary of her marriage to Mr. La Cosse here in 1909. The deceased, whose maiden name was Bessie Nelson, was born in Manitowoc December 10, 1877. She was graduated from the local grade and north side high school in 1896 and entered the postal service as a clerk under the late Henry Vits and served 12 years. During her last six years in the postoffice (sic) she was assistant postmistress. On August 2, 1909, she was married to Albert J. La Cosse of Kaukauna in this city and they made this city their home for a time. When Dr. La Cosse resumed his practice they moved to Marinette and resided there for three years where Mrs. La Cosse was active in church and music circles and where she numbered a large circle of friends among her acquaintances. Later the family moved to Milwaukee, where they resided until the illness of Mrs. La Cosse. Four children were born, Olive, Robert, Paul and Catherine, the last named dying at the age of three months. The husband, daughter, two sons, parents, and one brother, William Nelson, of this city, survive. Interment will be in Evergreen cemtery following funeral services Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Sacred Heart church. ROBERT PAUL LACOSSE cemetery #44 Beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, Bob La Cosse passed away unexpectedly at home on May 12, 2009. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Bob was born on July 7, 1949 in Sheboygan, Wis., son of the late Paul N. La Cosse and Ellen P. (La Cosse) Fandrick. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1967 and attended Lakeshore Technical College. He worked for Purolator and Emery Delivery Companies. For the last several years Bob was a limousine driver for the stars. He was an excellent storyteller and had many, many wonderful tales about the interesting and famous people he met in his limousine. Bob's varied interests included motorcycles, a wide variety of music (especially Summerfest) and going to baseball, football or basketball games. He loved working out at his favorite gym, smoking a good cigar and sharing a home cooked meal and interesting conversation with family and friends. Bob treasured his nephews and nieces, (private). He is also survived by his sisters, (private); his brothers, (private, and many friends. He was much loved by all. Memorial services will be held at Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S. 14th St., Manitowoc, Sat., June 20, 2009. The service will include an informal gathering beginning at 10 a.m. with the formal service commencing at 11 a.m. A lunch for family and friends to celebrate Bob's life will be held at his cousin's house, following the service. MATHILDA LACROIX cemetery #83 Mrs. Paul LaCroix, 69, of 919 Fremont St., Kiel, died Tuesday afternoon at St. Nicholas Hospital where she had been a patient for two weeks. The former Mathilda Kautzer, was born at St. Nazianz, Feb. 7, 1894, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kautzer, and was married to Paul LaCroix of the Town of Schleswig May 1, 1917, at St. Gregory's Church, St. Nazianz. The couple lived on a farm in the Town of Schleswig for 32 years, retiring in 1949 and moving to Kiel. Mrs. LaCroix was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel, the Christian Mothers Society and the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin. Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Mildred) Modra, R. 3, Manitowoc, and Mrs. Roland (Veronica) Daun, R. 2, New Holstein; two sons, Hugo, R. 1 Newton, and Marvin, Cleveland, Wis.; 13 grandchildren; two sisters, her twin, Mrs. Michael Wimmer, R. 1, Manitowoc, and Mrs. Hugh Jolin, Manitowoc, and a brother, Adolph Kautzer, St. Nazianz. Funeral services will be held at Ss. Peter and Paul Church at 10 a.m. Saturday following brief rites at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, at 9:30. The Rev. PAUL P. LACROIX cemetery #83 Paul P. LaCroix, 81, a retired Town of Schleswig farmer and former Kiel resident, died Monday night at the Villa Loretto, Mount Calvary. Born June 29, 1889, at St. Anna, he was a son of the late William and Elizabeth Dickrell LaCroix. On May 1, 1917, he married the former Mathilda Kautzer of S. Nazianz at St. Gregory Catholic Church. The couple operated a farm in Schleswig for 32 years before retiring and moving to Kiel. For several years he was employed by Kiel Wooden Ware Company. Mrs. LaCroix died October 29, 1963. He later made his home with a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Daun, Route 2, New Holstein. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Parish, Kiel, its Holy Name Society and the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Alvin Modra of Route 3, Manitowoc, and Mrs. Daun; two sons, Hugo of Route 1, Newton, and Marvin in Cleveland; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Schramm of St. Nazianz and Mrs. Ida Schram of Chilton, and a brother, Edward of Rocky Knoll. WILLIAM LACROIX cemetery #83 The death of William LaCroix, aged 78, occurred Tuesday of this week at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Johst here. Tuesday was the 51st anniversary of his wedding. Death was due to the infirmities of old age. The deceased was born Nov. 19, 1851, in Germany. He came to this country at the age of seven years with his parents. Since his marriage Oct. 15, 1878, to Miss Elizabeth Dickrell, he carried on his occupation of farming. Three years ago he and Mrs. LaCroix came to the home of their daughter to live. Surviving him besides his wife are the following: Sons - Paul, on the old homestead in Schleswig, and Edward of Glenbeulah; daughters - Mrs. August (Anna) Zorn, New Holstein; Mrs. John (Susan) Johst, and Mrs. William (Pauline) Siewert, Kiel; and Mrs. Henry (Mary) Schram and Mrs. John (Ida) Schram of Meeme. The following sisters also survive: Mrs. Kathryn Ellenbeck and Mrs. Mary Ellenbeck, St. Anna; and Mrs. Katie Kieson, Winnetka, Ill. JOHN THOMAS LADD cemetery #82 John Thomas Ladd, 80, of 208 Southridge Drive, Kiel, formerly of Big Rapids, Michigan died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001 at Calumet Medical Center, Chilton. He was born August 1, 1921 in Middle Point, Ohio, son of the late Vaughn E. and Jennie Manship Ladd. John received a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio, and a master of science degree in mathematics from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. During World War II he served with the U.S. Army in the 12th Army Air Corps, 57th Bombing in North Africa, Corsica and Italy. He married Ebba Stenvig in Detroit, Michigan on January 31, 1948. John was a professor of mathematics at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan retiring in 1981. The couple moved to Kiel in November of 2000. EDWIN R. LADE cemetery #44 Edwin R. Lade, 67, of 1223 Grand Ave., Manitowoc, died Monday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. The Rev. Paul Blaufuss will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Lade was born Aug. 24, 1903, at Manitowoc, son of the late Richard and Rose Schmidt Lade. He married Rose Bortsky Aug. 2, 1922, at Two Rivers. His wife preceded him in death July 29, 1951. Mr. Lade was a commercial fisherman on Lake Michigan for 50 years. He also owned and operated Lade’s Fish market at Manitowoc. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 706 of Manitowoc. RICHARD LADE cemetery #44 Richard Lade, 84, commercial fisherman at Manitowoc for 60 years, died at 6 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Mr. Lade, who resided at 1223 Grand Ave., Manitowoc, had been hospitalized three weeks. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Paul H. Blaufuss will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Lade was born at Little Suamico, Wis., Dec. 21, 1875, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fehrman Lade. He came to Manitowoc as a young man where March 8, 1898, he married Rose Schmidt. Before retirement five years ago he was a commercial fisherman for more than 60 years. Mrs. Lade died Thanksgiving Day, 1939. While at Little Suamico Mr. Lade gained experience as a fisherman working on rigs operated out of that Oconto County community. He often recalled the huge catches of perch, now a prized food, which were shunned in favor of herring. Three generations of Lades operated the fishing rig out of Manitowoc until he retired. Surviving are a son, Edwin R. of Manitowoc, with whom he resided; two brothers, Henry of Milwaukee and Edward of Green Bay; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Lanso of Baileys Harbor and two grandsons. RICHARD A. LADE cemetery #33 Richard Lade, age 78, formerly of 1508 S. 10th St., Manitowoc, and currently a resident of the Manitowoc County Health Care Center, died early Sunday morning, Feb. 10, 2008, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc. Richard was born July 25, 1929, in Manitowoc, a son of the late Edwin and Rose Boretsky Lade. He grew up in Manitowoc and was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. As a young man, Dick was very involved in sports, especially basketball and baseball. He played basketball with the Reedsville Athletic Club for 17 years and played one year for the Manitowoc Braves semi-pro basketball team. Dick also played baseball in Reedsville for the Haupt's baseball team in Reedsville for three years. On Nov. 15, 1952 Richard was married to the former Bernice Zastrow at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church. Bernice preceded him in death on Oct. 24, 1993. Dick was a commercial fisherman and owner of Lade's Fish and Seafood for 49 years. He was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Vans Athletic Club and the Manitowoc County Old Timers Baseball Club. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) WILFRED LADURON cemetery #89D Wilfred Laduron, 54, of Rt. 1, Mishicot, president of Laduron Builders Inc., and an overseas Army veteran of World War II, died Saturday following surgery at U.S. Veterans Administration Hospital, Wood. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, and at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, the Rev. Earl Brouchoud officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Mr. Laduron was born March 16, 1917, at Two Rivers, son of the late Jule and Catherine Rumf Laduron. He was graduated from Two Rivers Washington High School after which he enlisted in the Army, serving from 1942 to 1945, most of the period in the European theater. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart. A realtor, broker and builder, Mr. Laduron constructed scores of homes in the Mishicot area, starting with a development at what was known as Steiner's Corners, where he had resided. LADWIG cemetery #43 Manitowoc Herald-Times, Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Wednesday, June 12, 1935 Edward Ladwig, Veteran Police Officer: Is Dead 62 Year Old Night Chief Dies While Riding In Bus Last Evening Assistant Police Chief Edward J. Ladwig, member of the department for 28 years, died suddenly of a heat attack early Tuesday evening in a city bus while en-route to the police station to take charge of the night force. He was 62. The assistant chief, who boarded the bus at Wisconsin avenue and North 13th street shortly before 5:30 o'clock, collapsed suddenly in his seat in sight of a number of passengers on the bus. Ivan Schroeder, the driver, stopped the bus at Waldo boulevard and 18th street and Dr. F. E. Turgasen and the city ambulance were summoned. The doctor pronounced Mr. Ladwig dead after a brief examination. Death of Assistant Chief Ladwig occurred within three days of the 29th anniversary of joining the police department. This week Mr. Ladwig and his wife were stopping at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schuette, 933 North 13th street, during their absence from the city. Mrs. Ladwig and Mrs. Schuette are sisters. He left the Schuette residence at the usual hour to catch a bus in order to reach the police station when the night officers reported for duty. Funeral Saturday Funeral services for Assistant Chief Ladwig will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the home, 1319 South 12th street, and at 10 am. from the St. Boniface church. Interment will be at Calvary cemetery. The deceased was born in this city in 1872 and at an early age moved with his parent to Mishicot. Later he returned to this city and took a position as field superintendent for a canning company. On June 14, 1907 he was named a member of the police department and was assigned to night duty. On April 1, 1918 he was named assistant police chief, which position he continued to fill until his death. Except for periods when he was acting chief during the absence from the city of Police Chief Trochoell, Assistant Chief Ladwig served as head of the night force of the department. In addition to membership in the Wisconsin Police Protective association he was also a member of the St. Boniface society and the St. Boniface congregation. Married in 1904 In 1904 the deceased was married at Nordheim, this county, to Josephine Gretz. Survivors are his widow; a son Stanley, city; a daughter, Armela, city; two brothers, Henry, city and August, Milwaukee; a sister, Mrs. Christ Hendries, city; and four grandchildren. The body will be removed to the home on South 12th street Thursday morning from the Pfeffer Funeral home. Fellow members on the police department will act as pallbearers at the funeral services Saturday. Henry Ladwig was born in Germany February 22, 1836, eighty years ago and was married there coming to America a few years afterwards. KAROLINE LADWIG cemetery #44 DIES IN HOUSE WHICH WAS HOME 73 YRS. Mrs. Caroline Ladwig, widow of Christ Ladwig, died at the family home, 1301 South Tenth street, last night at 9:30 after an illness of many months. Last November she suffered a broken hip in a fall at the home and for weeks was a patient at the Holy Family hospital. Later she was returned to her home where death followed last evening. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon with services at the Lutheran church, Eighth and Marshall street, at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Karl Machmiller officiating, and burial will be at Evergreen. Mrs. Ladwig, nee Koebke, was born in the same home where she died and would have been seventy-three at her next birthday, August 2. At the age of eighteen she was married to Christ Ladwig and he died four years ago as the couple were preparing to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. Five children also preceded Mrs. Ladwig in death and she is survived by one daughter, Miss Lillian Ladwig, at home and by seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Always a home body Mrs. Ladwig devoted her life to her family and outside of her church affiliation belonged to no organizations. MARY LADWIG cemetery #82 The victim of a stroke suffered at the home of her father, William Ladwig at 4 o'clock last Tuesday afternoon, Miss Mary Theresa Ladwig, aged 49, passed away on Thursday evening of last week. She had been an invalid for the past nine and a half years. The deceased was born Nov. 27, 1881 in Pomerania, Germany. At the age of two, she came to this country with her parents, settling first in Milwaukee, where they made their home for eleven years. In the summer of 1894 they moved to Kiel, where the family has since resided. Mrs. Ladwig died in December, 1920. Surviving her besides her father are two brothers, Charles of Milwaukee, and Walter of Sturgeon Bay, and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Wetzel and Mrs. Louis Lawrence, both of Kiel. Four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death many years ago. Funeral services were held from the Ladwig home at 525 Broadway street Saturday afternoon at 3:30. The Rev. E. L. Worthman of the St. Peter Reformed church performed the last rites, and burial was in the Kiel cemetery. Pallbearers were: Henry Jochmann, Charles Guetzloe, Jacob Stumpf, Frank Hahnemann, and Edward and John Henschel. Miss Ladwig was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the G. U. G. Germania Verein No. 7 of Kiel, and which society attended the funeral in a body.

LaFave, 65, of 2112 Jefferson ST., Two Rivers, retired Two Rivers businessman and a past vice president of the state unit of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employers, died Saturday night at Manitowoc County Hospital. Military Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Klein & Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, and at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, the Rev. Earl Brouchoud officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Mr. LaFave was born at Oconto May 9, 1904, a son of the late Arthur and Ella Meneau LaFave. When he was 16 he came to Two Rivers from Oconto and was employed at Plant No. 1 of the Mirro Aluminum Co. He was employed for 26 1/2 years by the Two Rivers municipal electric utility and was line foreman when he established a salvage, battery and lead firm which he operated for nearly 17 years on Two Rivers' east side. Mr. LaFarve entered the Navy in 1942 and served with the Seabees in the Pacific theater, reaching the rank of petty officer when he was mustered out in 1945. When his son entered the Navy, he and his father became the first father and son servicemen from Two Rivers in World War II. Long active in the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employes, he was its business agent at Two Rivers for several years, and later became state vice president of the organization. For 10 years he was president of the Two Rivers Central Trades and Labor Council. He was a longtime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion posts of Two Rivers, and the county chapter of the Disabled American Veterans. Surviving are his wife, the former Ida Sincere, whom he married at St. Luke Church Aug. 23, 1923; a daughter, Mrs. John (Helen Mae) Bauknecht of Webster, N.Y.; a son, three sisters, Mrs. Robert Donlevy of Union Grove, Wis., Mrs. Charles (Lucille) Martell of Duluth, Minn., and Mrs. Raymond (Catherine) Gypp of Hialiah, Fla.; six brothers, Joseph of Racine, Arthur Jr. of Schofield, Clarence of Green Bay, Atty. He had been a helpless invalid for years, being afflicted sorely with trembling palsy, and death brought to him welcome relief. He was born in Montreal, July 7, 1828. Came to this city in 1849 and made it his home most of his life. He served in the Union Army during the last year of the war, part of the time being in the 3d Wis. JOHN LAFOND cemetery #89D John F. LaFond, 72, of 2110-12th St., Two Rivers, Two Rivers commercial artist and the last member of a commercial fishing family at Two Rivers dating back to 1852, died early Thursday morning at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels and at 10 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The Rev. Michael Koch will officiate and burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Mr. LaFond was born April 2, 1900, at Two Rivers, son of the late Mitchell and Elide Fontaine LaFond. He attended St. Luke Parochial School and was graduated from Two Rivers High School with the class of 1919 where he participated in basketball. Later he became one of the outstanding billiard players in the area. His grandfather, Michel LaFond, with his wife, Mary, migrated to Two Rivers from Quebec, Canada, in 1852 and entered the commercial fishing enterprise, pursued by three generations of the family. Mr. LaFond attended the Academy of Fine Arts and the Chicago Art Institute. He established his own studio, bearing his name, in 1925, at Two Rivers, retiring five years ago. He married Vivian Baker at St. Mark Church June 16, 1927. He was a member of Mother of Hope Council 1957, Knights of Columbus, and the Senior Citizens of St. Mark Parish. Besides his wife he leaves a son, and a daughter, and eight grandchildren. LEONARD LA FRENIERE cemetery #89D Leonard LaFreniere, 57, of 909-21st St., Two Rivers, a foreman at Hamilton Mfg. Co., Two Rivers, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at home early Friday morning. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Klein and Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, and at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, the Rev. H.J. Schmitz officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Leonard LaFreniere was born Feb. 17, 1907, at Wilson, Mich., son of the late David and Minnie Ranguette La Freniere. When he was a child the family brought him to Goodman, Wis. In 1929, he came to Two Rivers and had been employed by the Hamilton firm since. He was a member of Hamilton Management Club and also of the firm's Goodfellowship Club. Surviving are his wife, the former Marcella Ruelle, whom he married at Two Rivers Oct. 15, 1938; two sisters, Mrs. Neal Ramsay, of Goodman and Mrs. Sam Hovanesan, of Milwaukee; a brother, Wilfred, and a half-brother, Leon Montpas, of Goodman.
