JAMES A. JOAS cemetery #83 James A. Joas, 70, of Calumetville, formerly of Sheboygan, died Sunday, July 27, 2008. He was the son of the late Arthur and Margaret (Merrill) Joas, born June 1, 1938 in Stockbridge. He graduated from Kiel High School in 1956 at which time he joined the Navy, serving on the USS Coney for two years. In his early years James was a car salesman at Elm City Motors and was employed at Tecumseh, prior to joining Wisconsin Public Service for eight years. In 1969 Jim started a business selling snowmobiles which grew into Sheboygan Yamaha Motorsports which he owned and operated for 38 years. Jim sold the business and retired on Feb. 1, 2007. Jim was a charter member of the Lakeshore Two Cylinder Antique Tractor Club and a member of the Calumetville Antique Tractor Club as Jim had a hobby of collecting and showing John Deere tractors and hit-n-miss motors. To satisfy his competitive nature Jim enjoyed participating in antique tractor pulls, and has many trophies to show for his efforts. He was a charter member of the Louis Corners Sno-Birds Snowmobile club as well as a member of the Howard's Grove Snowdrifters and Ranger City Riders Snowmobile Club of Amberg. He enjoyed the sport of snowmobiling and was instrumental in getting the recreation trail along Hwy 28 open for snow- mobiling. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and water sports along with friends and family. He also was a great adventurer and l oved to travel. He was also a member of the Howard's Grove VFW Post #9924. Jim is survived by his two brothers, nephews, nieces, and many, many special friends and relatives. In addition to his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by his son, Dean and nephew, Scott Joas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Jim on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, N10232 CTH G in Marytown. Rev. Joseph H. Coerber will be celebrant. Interment will follow at St Peter and Paul Cemetery in Kiel. LEONORA JOCHIMSEN cemetery #82 Leonora Jochimsen, 94, formerly of 1036 3rd St., Kiel, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 1995 at Willowdale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein, where she resided the past 1 1/2 years. She is the former Leonora Voss, born April 11, 1900 in Kiel, daughter of the late Theodore and Alma Oesau Voss. She attended Kiel Schools. On Feb. 21, 1919 she married Ernst R. Jochimsen. The couple farmed in the Town of Schleswig. Her husband preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 1967. Survivors include one son (private), two granddaughters; and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Meiselwitz-Vollsteadt Funeral Home, Kiel, with the Rev. Raymond C Coombs officiating. Burial will be in the Kiel cemetery. No newspaper named, 1995
ADOLF G. JOCHMANN Adolph(sic) G. Jochmann, aged 68, life-long resident of the town of Schleswig, passed away Sunday afternoon at the Sheboygan Memorial hospital, following a short illness. The deceased was born in the town of Schleswig on April 18, 1882, the son of the late Traugott and Wilhelmina Meyer. On August 2, 1913, he was married to Miss Clara Duerrwaechter of near Kiel, and the couple moved to the present farm two miles north of this city, immediately following their marriage. Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Evelyn, and a son, LeRoy, at home; a brother, Henry Jochmann of this city; two sisters, Mrs. John Peters of Town Rhine, and Mrs. Julius Spitzer of Kenosha. Two sisters and a brother preceded him in death. Mr. Jochmann was a member of the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church, the Men's Brotherhood, and served as an elder and deacon in the church consistory. Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, and at 2 o'clock at the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church with the Rev. E. L. Worthman officiating. Burial was made in the Kiel cemetery. - November 4, 1945
ANITA ANNA JOCHMANN cemetery #82 Anita A. Jochmann, 88, formerly of Kiel, died Monday evening, July 9, 2007 at Willowdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein where she resided the past ten years. She was born September 12, 1918 in Kiel, daughter of the late Henry & Lena Wittrock Jochmann. Anita attended Kiel schools. She was employed as a clerk at Evans Dept. Store in Kiel and was a cook in various restaurants. She also did domestic work in the Kiel area. Anita was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel and a former member of the Royal Neighbors of Kiel, New Holstein Garden Club and the Kiel Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading, cooking and loved gardening. Survivors include numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Elmer. Funeral services will be held at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home with the Rev. David Mercer officiating. Burial will take place in the Kiel City Cemetery. Sheboygan Press, July 12, 2007
ANNA JOCHMANN cemetery #82 Relatives here were notified on Tuesday evening of the death of Anna Jochmann, aged 62, which occurred in the evening of that day at 7:30 at Oshkosh, where the deceased had been the past six weeks. The body was immediately brought to Kiel by the C. J. Meiselwitz Co., and was taken to the John Peters home in the town of Rhine, where she had made her home in recent years. The deceased, the daughter of the late Traugott and Wilhelmina Jochmann, was born Jan. 10, 1879, in the town of Rhine, where she grew to womanhood. She had been an invalid for some years, and death followed a lingering illness. She is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Adolph and Henry Jochmann of Kiel, and Mrs. John Peters of Rhine, and Mrs. Adela Spitzer, Racine. Another brother, Edwin, died two years ago, and a sister, Mrs. Louis Frick, passed away in Rhine three years ago. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 from the Peters home in Rhine, on Friday, with services at the St. Peter Reformed church here at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the local cemetery, and the Rev. E. L. Worthman will conduct the last rites. - 1931
ARTHUR JOCHMANN cemetery #20 Arthur J. Jochmann, 73, of 2225 Monroe St., New Holstein, died early Thursday evening at his home. Mr. Jochmann was born in the Town of Schleswig, Manitowoc County, on Aug. 30, 1893, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gothelf Jochmann, and attended Woodland Park District School. On Nov. 20, 1917, he married Anida Rosenbauer in Bethlehem Church in Schleswig. For 33 years he worked as a machinist for the Lauson Engine Division of Tecumseh Products, in New Holstein. Mr. Jochmann was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and an honorary member of the New Holstein Fire Department. Survivors include his wife; one son, Gordon, Ronton, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Mildred) Kotsch, Marathon, Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Deffke, Brillion; and Mrs. James (Audrey) Steenport, Chilton; 14 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Herman and one sister, Mrs. Charles Schmidt. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John’s United Church of Christ, New Holstein, with the Rev. Charles A. Koch, officiating. CARL F. JOCHMANN cemetery #82 Mr. Carl Friedrich Jochmann Last week Wednesday in Winnebago, Mr. Friedrich Jochmann died at the age of 36 years from pneumonia. The deceased was born in Town Eaton and had lived for the last years with his mother in Kiel, where he worked as a mason last summer. A while ago he went to Sheboygan to work at repairing houses and there he became ill. He was taken to the hospital in Winnebago where he died three weeks later. His mother, one brother and five sisters survive him. The coffin was brought to Kiel and on Sunday afternoon the burial took place at the Kiel Cemetery with Pastor Rech officiating. The Arion Band played as fellow members of the Woodmen and the Beavers escorted him to his final resting place. No newspaper named, Jan. 1915
CHRISTINA JOCHMANN cemetery #20 At the advanced age of almost 94 years, Mrs. Johanna Christina Jochmann, mother of Mr. A. F. Neumann of this city, passed away Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Theodore Keppler, at Wild Rose, about fifty miles west of Oshkosh. Mrs. Jochmann, nee Liske, was born in Schleswig, Germany, May 3, 1837. At the age of 24, while still in Germany, she was married to Carl Jochmann. To the couple, eleven children were born, six of who died in their youth. Her husband preceded her in death 24 years ago, since which time the deceased had made her home with her surviving daughters, who are: Mrs. Henry Breyer of Chicago; Mrs. William Schadel of West Bend; Mrs. Herman Krueger of Sheboygan; Mrs. Keppler at Wild Rose; and Mrs. Neumann here. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held here Monday afternoon at the Neuman home, the Rev. E. L. Worthman conducting the last rites. CLARA JOCHMANN cemetery #82 Mrs. Clara Jochmann, 82, of R. 2, Kiel, in the Town of Schleswig, died at her home Friday night. She was born on Sept. 21, 1886, in the Town of Schleswig, a daughter of the late William and Maria (Staats) Duerrwaechter. She attended public school in Kiel. On Aug. 2, 1913, she was married to Adolph Jochmann at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Kiel. He proceeded her in death on Nov. 4, 1945. She continued to make her home on the family farm in rural Kiel. She was a member of St. Peter’s UCC, and the Frauen Verein of the church. Survivors are one daughter, Evelyn and a son LeRoy, both on the home farm and one brother, Adolph, R. 2, Kiel. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Peter’s UCC, Kiel, with the Rev. John F. Baumann, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Kiel Cemetery. ELMER EDWIN JOCHMANN cemetery #82 Elmer E. Jochmann, 73, of 513 Broadway St., Kiel, died Wednesday morning, Aug. 2, 1995 at Willowdale Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein, where he resided the past seven months. He was born Oct. 19, 1921 in Kiel, son of the late Henry and Lena Wittrock Jochmann. Elmer was employed at Laun Furniture Company, Kiel, for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Kiel; Kiel Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, New Voice Club and a former member of the Kiel Fire Department. Elmer enjoyed gardening, stamp collecting and latch hook work. Survivors include one sister, Anita Jochmann, Kiel and cousins. EVELYN M. JOCHMANN cemetery #82 Evelyn M. Jochmann, 81, formerly of rural Kiel, died Thursday evening. Nov. 15, 2001 at Willowdale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein, where she resided since 1999. She was born on Nov. 27, 1919 in Kiel, a daughter of the late Clara and Adolph Jochmann. She was a 1937 graduate of Kiel High School. Evelyn worked at the former Hanson Glove Factory in Kiel from 1942 to 1962. After her departure from the glove factory, she remained at home to take care of her mother and assist on the farm in the town of Schleswig. She was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Kiel and the Women’s Guild. She enjoyed gardening, embroidering, reading and listening to music. Survivors include one brother, LeRoy Jochamnn, a resident of Willowdale Nursing and Rehab Center and cousins, Anita Jochmann of New Holstein, Mae Stine of Kiel, Pearl (William) Schmidt of New Holstein, Bernice (Robert) Maly of Illinois and George (Mary) Houtkamp of Wauwatosa. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel, with the Rev. GORDON F. JOCHMANN cemetery #20 Gordon F. Jochmann, 66, of 1803 Monroe St., New Holstein died Tuesday, December 21, 1993 at his home. He was born June 24, 1927, in New Holstein, a son of the late Arthur and Anida Rosenbauer Jochmann. On February 10, 1984, he married Rose Ann Hocks in Chilton. Mr. Jochmann served in the United States Navy from October 1943 – April 1946. He then served in the United States Army from May 1947 – April 1966. During this time he saw action in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a current commander of the New Holstein American Legion Post 124. He was the first commander of Al Hertel Post 65, Disabled American Veterans. He was past correspondent of the 40 & 8 and also a member of the Chilton Eagles, Aerie 1288. GOTTHELF JOCHMANN cemetery #82 Lame for about 20 years, Gotthelf Jochmann died at his home on Fourth street last Thursday at 7 a.m. Mr. Jochmann was born in Schlesien, Germany, May 15, 1849. At the age of 16 years he came to America with his parents and settled with them on a farm in Town Herman. Later he worked his way among strangers, working for a time in Iowa. On Jan. 21, 1877 he was married to Miss Mary Deicher and the couple went to live on a farm north of Kiel. Seven children were born to them, two of whom preceded him in death, Emma 27 years ago at the age of 13, and Tena, Mrs. Charles Schmidt, 3 months ago. Mr. Jochmann is survived by his wife; four sons, Herman of Kiel, Fred and August of New Holstein, and Arthur on the homestead; one daughter, Martha at home; one sister, Mrs. John Boeldt (clipping ends) - July 1926
HENRY JOCHMANN cemetery #82 Henry Jochmann Dies Tuesday Morning Death came suddenly early Tuesday morning to Henry Jochmann, 70, whose home was at 517 Broadway. He was a former city marshal of Kiel and retired from a watchman job at the A.A. Laun Furniture Company about a year ago. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church, with the Rev. E.L. Worthman in charge. Burial will be in the Kiel cemetery. He was born in Schleswig township in 1880. He married Lena Wittrock in 1917 and they have made their home in this community since. For many years, Mr. Jochmann was employed as a stone mason and also as a butcher. He butchered two steers the day before his death. He served as city marshal from 1934 to 1946. He is survived by his wife; a son Elmer, and a daughter Anita, and two sisters, Mrs. John Peters of Rhine, and Mrs. Julius Spitzer of Kenosha. He leaves his wife; a daughter, Miss Anita Jochmann, at home; a son, Elmer, at home; and two sisters, Mrs. John Peters, of the town of Rhine and Mrs. Julius Spitzer, of Kenosha. She was married to Mr. Jochmann of Kiel on Oct. 11, 1917, and the couple continued to live in Kiel. Mrs. Jochmann was a member of St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church at Kiel, a member of the G.U.G. Germania Society, and a member of the Kiel branch, Royal Neighbors. LEROY A. JOCHMANN cemetery #82 LeRoy A Jochmann, 79, formerly of rural Kiel and presently a resident of Willowdale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein, since 1999, died Thursday Nov. 29, 2001 at the Calumet Medical Center, Chilton. He was born August 2, 1922 in the town of Schleswig, a son of the late Adolph and Clara Duerrwaechter Jochmann. He was a 1940 graduate of Kiel High School. LeRoy farmed on the family homestead in the town of Schleswig his entire life, retiring in 1994, when he moved to Kiel. He was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Kiel; a member of the Senior Socials and a former bowler. He is survived by numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Jochmann on Nov. 15, 2001. Funeral services will be held at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home in Kiel with the Rev. Raymond C. Coombs officiating. MARY JOCHMANN cemetery #82 Mary Jochmann, 72, Dies Tuesday The death of Mrs. Mary Jochmann, nee Deicher, occurred Tuesday evening at 8:30 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Schmidt here. Mrs. Jochmann had reached the age of 72 years. Death was attributed to infection of a goitre. The deceased was born April 29, 1845, in the town of Rhine, where she lived with her family until the time of her marriage on January 21, 1877, when she moved with her husband to a farm in Schleswig. Here the couple lived until 1917, when Mr. and Mrs. Jochmann came here to live. Her husband died one year ago. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Charles Schmidt; four sons, Merman of Kiel; and Fred, August, and Arthur, of New Holstein; four brothers, Adam, Phillip, Dr. Henry, and Herman Deicher, of Plymouth; three sisters, Mrs. John Luth and Mrs. Arthur Pfiel of Glenbeulah, and Mrs. Albert Smith of Milwaukee; and six grandchildren. Two children preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held from the home Friday at 1:30, and from the Reformed church at 2 o’clock, with interment in the Kiel cemetery. TRAUGOTT JOCHMANN cemetery #82 AGED PIONEER OF KIEL PASSES AWAY SUNDAY Kiel—T. Jochmann, aged 89, one of the pioneer settlers of this section of Wisconsin, died at the home of his son, Adolph, near Kiel, Sunday. Mr. Jochmann was born in Schleswig, Germany, on Nov. 30, 1847. He came to the United States with his parents when he was sixteen years old. The family settled on a farm near Howards Grove. On March 3, 1878, he was married to Miss Wilhelmina Heuer, and they moved to a farm near Kiel, where they lived until 1915. Then they moved to Kiel. Mrs. Jochmann died ten years ago. For the last two years, Mr. Jochmann, resided with his son, Adolph. Six children, all of whom survive, were born to Mr. and Mrs. Jochmann. They are Miss Anna Jochmann, town of Rhine; Henry Jochman of Kiel; Adolph Jochmann, town of Schleswig; Edwin Jochmann, Kenosha; Mrs. John Peters and Mrs. Julius Spitzer, Kenosha. He is also survived by one brother, John Jochmann, and one sister, Mrs. Anna Boeldt, Kenosha, and ten grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the home Thursday and in St. Peter’s Reformed Church. The Rev. Arthur Seawert will officiate. Interment will be made in the Kiel cemetery. She was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, where she taught C.C.D. EUGENE J. JOHANEK cemetery #66 Eugene J. Johanek, age 77, a resident of Tisch Mills, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at the Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon Friday, May 4, 2001 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Tisch Mills, with the Reverend Joseph Praem, officiating. Eugene was born March 30, 1924 in Kewaunee County to the late Jacob and Emily Pilzak Johanek and has been a lifelong area resident. He married the former Dorothy Roidt, June 21, 1947 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Tisch Mills. She preceded him in death on May 13, 1999. He served in the United States Army during WWII in Japan and the Philippines. Mr. Johanek was employed by the Hamilton Manufacturing Company for over 40 years. He played for several bands, including the Joe Karmen Band, Bill Siebold Band, the Two Creeks Farm Hands, and the Mark Jirkovec Band. He was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, the Czechs of Norman and the Carlton American Legion Post #538. She was born on April 30, 1920, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Hjalmar "John" and Ellen (Johnson) Newlin. Dorothy attended Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, graduating with the class of 1938. On Jan. 16, 1942, she married the late Roy Hjalmar Johnson in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death on June 14, 1994. Dorothy was employed at Lapcor Plastics and Mirro Aluminum until her retirement. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Manitowoc Senior Center, and the St. Paul United Methodist Women. Dorothy enjoyed her flowers and her many friends. Mr. Johnson was for years owner of a sailing craft on the lake and later engaged in the grocery business on Buffalo street. JOHNSON RESIDENT HERE FOR 66 YEARS Pioneer Whose Death Occurred Saturday, One of Oldest Here FUNERAL WILL BE HELD TOMORROW George Johnson, a brief notice of whose death appeared in Saturday's Herald, was a resident of Manitowoc for sixty-six years. He was born at Farson, Norway, January 1st, 1827 and in his youth was a "deep water" sailor on Norwegian ships. He came to America in 1845, settling in Chicago. Five years later he moved with his wife to Manitowoc where he has resided ever since. For thirty years he carried on an extensive shipping business on the Great Lakes, owning five vessels at different times. At the age of forty-nine, he left the shipping business and opened up a grocery and crockery store on Buffalo Street and continued in this for twenty-seven years. In 1903, poor health compelled him to retire from business. Since then he has been gradually failing in health. He passed away last Friday at 6:30 A.M. at the family residence on New York Avenue. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife and nine children, fourteen grand children and three great grandchildren. The children are Mrs. C.B. Stange and Mr. M.W. Heil, Chicago; Mrs. H.C. Wuife, Erie, Penn.; Mrs. L.F. Rahr, Elkhorn,; Mrs. Floyd D. Jones, Chicago; Mrs. R.E. Mau??, Missou?, Mont.; Mrs. W.H. Williamson, Rockford, Ill.; M.O. Johnson, Chicago, and Gus. A. GURINA JOHNSON cemetery #2 The Angel of Death has again entered in the midst of our community. At 6 o’clock Sunday evening Mrs. Gurina Johnson, aged 84, widow of the late J.P. Johnson and a pioneer resident of this county, answered the summons of death due to infirmities of old age. Up to her last illness, which was a duration of but three weeks, she has enjoyed robust health. The decedent was a devoted Christian and although death was not unexpected, her absence will be deeply deplored in this community. Mrs. Johnson was born in Gjerpen, Norway, April 4, 1831, and with her parents came to America at the age of 15. Two years later she was married to J.P. Johnson and with her husband made their home at Milwaukee for several years, and later settled on a farm in Manitowoc Rapids, where she resided up to a few years ago. Mr. Johnson, a civil war veteran, has been dead for the past forty years. Besides two daughters, Mathilda and Mrs. O.P. Hansen, widow of the late O.P. Hanson, one brother, Thor Larson of the state of Washington, and two sisters, Mrs. Anne Balstad of Madsen Station and Mrs. Lars Erickson of Chicago, survive. Six grandchildren also survive, being Oscar, Isabell, Amanda, Elma, Albert and Alvin Hanson, all of whom besides the children, were at the bedside when she breathed her last. L.J. Anderson, George Anderson and County Treasurer Theodore Anderson, all of this city, are nephews of the deceased. The funeral will be held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. O.P. Johnson, Jr., 47, of 623 Seventh St., Kiel, manager of the Lake to Lake Dairy Co-operative plant, died Tuesday at St. Nicholas Hospital where he had been a patient four weeks. Born on Feb. 29, 1924 at Fair Water (Fond du Lac County), he was a son of Henry and Jennie Hogle Johnson. He was a graduate of Brandon High School and received a degree in dairy science at the University of Wisconsin in 1949. Mr. Johnson was employed by the Lake to Lake Dairy Co-operative for 20 years, the past 12 years as plant manager at Kiel. On Aug. 21, 1948 he married the former Joyce Tenpas of Vesper. He was an Air Force pilot during World War II. Mr. Johnson was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Kiel, the Kiel Area Chamber of Commerce and the Masonic Lodge of Waupun. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, his parents, Fair Water, and a brother, Norman, of Palmyra. HERBERT A. JOHNSON cemetery #33 Herbert A. Johnson, age 82, of 2256 Knuell St., Manitowoc, died on Thursday morning, Jan. 17, 2008, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. He was born on May 20, 1925, in Escanaba, Mich., son of the late Daniel Anton and Christine (Johansson) Johnson. He attended Lincoln High School in Duluth, Minn. On Oct. 19, 1943, he joined the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Hornet, and was a member of A40 MM gun crew from Nov. 29, 1943, to Jan. 1, 1946, in the South Pacific. On March 4, 1967, he married the former Rena May Vallroy in Bessemer, Mich. Herb and his wife, Rena, resided in Duluth, Mich., where he was employed for many years. Herb joined the Electricians Union, and has been a member from 1947, until the present. During his career, he was employed as an electrician in the upper and lower peninsula of Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Nevada. Herb worked in the mines, paper mills, power plants, commercial business sector, private homes and the Nevada test site. In Manitowoc, Herb worked for Crafts Electric and Anderson Electric, retiring in 1990. Herb and Rena relocated from Las Vegas, Nev., to Manitowoc on March 4, 2001. Mr. Johnson was quite active in the VFW. He joined the organization in 1944, in Escanaba, Mich., VFW Post 2998 where he served as post district commander, post quarter master in Escanaba, Mich., and 8th district commander in Michigan. He then transferred to the Manitowoc VFW Otto Oas Post 659 where he served as post commander and was a member of the house committee. He also joined the Cooties and served as Seam Squirrel of the Pup Tent 34 of Manitowoc. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at Knollwood Memorial Chapel, town of Kossuth. Officiating at the service will be David Mason, LLM, with burial at Knollwood Memorial Gardens. Graveside military rites will be accorded by VFW Otto Oas Post 659.
