ROBERT JAGEMAN cemetery #43 BABE PASSES AWAY Robert Jageman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jageman, 409 River Drive, died this morning at 7:30, aged eighteen months. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock with services at St. Paul's Catholic church. Burial will be at Calvary. JOSEPH JAGEMANN cemetery #43 Joseph C. Jagemann, 78, of Manitowoc, founder and board chairman of Jagemann Plating Co. there, died of an apparent heart attack at home Wednesday. One of his five daughters is Mrs. Kent B. (Annamae) Logan of Sheboygan Falls. Mr. Jagemann, who founded the plating firm in 1945, was active for 30 years in the American Electroplaters Society. Other survivors are his wife, Agnes; three sons, four daughters, six brothers and three sisters. ADALIA JAGODENSKY cemetery #43 From Der Nord Westen, 15 Oct. 1908: Diphtheria took the life Tuesday of 6-year old Adele Jagodinski, daughter of South 17th Street resident, butcher W. Jagodinski. She is the 3rd child from that family to have died of the disease within the past two weeks.

JOHN P. JAGODENSKY (d. 1945) cemetery #43 John P. Jagodensky of 1318 S. 17th street died Sunday night at the Holy Family hospital where he had been confined for three weeks. Mr. Jagodensky, 83, worked for the Manitowoc Building Supply company until his retirement 15 years ago. A native of the town of Newton, he was born April 23, 1862. Forty nine years ago he was married to Sadie Plotka, who preceded him in death eight years ago. He leaves six daughters, Mrs. Herman Techlaw, Detroit, Mrs. Harry Aregood, Chicago; Mrs. Anton Velchek, Mrs. Frank Calos and Misses Gustie and Clara Jagodensky, all of this city; six sons, Frank, Oshkosh, John, Milwaukee, and Robert, Charles, Frank and Albert of Manitowoc. Twenty three grand- children and four great grandchildren also survive. The body was removed to the Pfeffer funeral home and will lie in state from Tuesday afternoon until the hour of funeral rites. At 8:30 a.m. on Thursday short services at the funeral home will preceded a requiem mass at 9 o'clock at St. Andrew's. The Rev. Henry Letz will be celebrant of the mass, and interment will be in Calvary cemetery. Mr. Jagodensky was a member of the Holy Name society and the Catholic Order of Foresters. VERONICA JAGODENSKY cemetery #43 OLD RESIDENT DIES Sunday Mrs. John Jagodinski (sic) Dies At 76, Rites Wednesday Mrs. John Jagodinski, 76, died Sunday at 3:35 a.m., at her home, 1309 South 19th street. She was a resident of Manitowoc for the last 45 years. The remains were taken to the residence from the Leschke funeral home Monday evening and the funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:30 a.m., from St. Mary's Catholic church. The Rev. J.M. Pociecha will officiate and burial will be at Calvary cemetery. Mrs. Jagodinski's maiden name was Veronica Petroski. She was born in Poland Feb. 14, 1857 and came to Manitowoc 45 years ago. She was married to Mr. Jagodinski 58 years ago. He died two years ago. Survivors are seven children, Mrs. Selma Luzenski of Wisconsin Rapids, Mrs. Frank Goick of Redgranite, Mrs. Frank W. Tomchek and Miss Rose Jagodinski both of Manitowoc, Nick of West Allis, John of this city and Alois of Owen, Wis. There is one brother, John Petroski of the Town of Liberty, and a sister, Mary Banka of Hoffa Park, Wis. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. VALENTINE JAGODINSKI cemetery #43 Valentine J. (Tina) Jagodinski, age 90, of 1112 S. 20th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 17, 2008, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. She was born Oct. 4, 1917, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Joseph B. and Clara (Vnuk) Tadych. Valentine was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, class of 1935. On Jan. 23, 1945, she married Edward C. Jagodinski at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death Jan. 13, 1959. Valentine was a civil service worker at the Liberal Air Force Base at Liberal, Kan. She was then employed at Manitowoc Engineering Co. for 10 years and retired in 1984 from Copps as the department manager. Valentine was a past member of the Rosary and Altar Society of the former St. Mary Catholic Church. She was a member and past president of the Catholic Women's Club and for many years volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul Society. Valentine also was a member of the Newton Birthday Club, Manitowoc Senior Citizens and was a bus tour guide for the baseball tours for the Manitowoc senior citizens. She also was a voracious reader and an avid sports fan. Valentine was a member of St. Francis of Assisi. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) She was preceded in death by two sisters: Frances Tadych and Lorraine Lesperance; two brothers: Joseph Tadych and Rhinert (Red) Tadych; three brothers-in-law: Terry Lesperance, Gregory Jagodinsky, Joseph Rehrauer and a sister-in-law: Lucille (Joseph) Becker. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen. Valentine will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc, from 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, until the time of service at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in her name. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Woodland Clinic and Shady Lane Nursing Care Center for their care and compassion shown toward Valentine and her family. ALEX H. JAGODINSKY cemetery #44 Alex Homer Jagodinsky, 81, of 1337 S. 21st St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Friday morning at the family residence. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Harold Berryman will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Jagodinsky was born Dec. 28, 1896, in Manitowoc, son of the late Jacob and Antoinette Korlesky Jagodinsky. He married Josephine L. Jagodinsky June 14, 1920, in St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Mr. Jagodinsky owned and operated a tavern in Manitowoc until his retirement. He was a 50 year member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 706 of Manitowoc. Survivors include his wife, Josephine, a son and daughter-in-law, (private); a daughter, (private); two brothers, Ben, Adolph and Walter of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Valerie Wells of Milwaukee and two granddaughters, (private). CHARLES JAGODINSKY cemetery #43 Charles Jagodinsky, 69, of 810 S. 19th St., Manitowoc, died just before midnight Monday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he had been removed shorty before after a coronary attack. Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. John S. Landowski will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Jagodinsky was born at Manitowoc, April 5, 1894, son of the late John and Sadie Plotka Jagodinsky. He married Stella Kadow at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Northeim, Sept. 28, 1915, and the couple marked the 48th anniversary of the wedding this year. At the age of 14 he was employed by Mirro Aluminum Co., becoming polishing department foreman when 19, continuing in that capacity until retiring Feb. 29, 1960. He was a member of Mirro Twenty-Five Year Club and Holy Name Society of St. Mary Church. Surviving are his wife, a son, Gregory of Manitowoc; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Becker and Mrs. Joseph Rehrauer of Manitowoc; three brothers, Robert and Frank of Manitowoc and John of Milwaukee; three sisters, Miss Clara and Miss Gustie Jagodinsky of Manitowoc and Mrs. Anna Tecklow of Detroit; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A son, Edward died in 1959 and two brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death. HENRY JAHNKE cemetery #44 Henry Jahnke, 28, Passes Away This Morning At Hospital Henry Jahnke, 28, passed away this morning at 10 o'clock at the hospital. He recently underwent an operation for goitre. He has been a resident of the city for the past three years. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Frazier mortuary, Ninth and Chicago streets, with interment at Evergreen cemetery. Rev. Uetzman will officiate. The deceased was born in the town of Gibson, Dec. 14, 1900 and resided there until he located here, since which time he has been employed at the ship yards here. He was married May 12, 1928 to Anna Uhleres, who survives him together with his mother, Mrs. Ida Jahnke, one sister Mrs. Amanda Witt of this city and a brother, William Jahnke of Tisch Mills. Mrs. Jaklin, nee Augusta Kitzman, was born March 10, 1889, at Winneconne, daughter of the late Gottlieb and Mathilda Kitzman. She was married in 1906 to Edward Tank at Oshkosh. The family moved to Two Rivers in 1922 where her husband died in 1942. She was married at Tish Mills in 1946 to Frank Jaklin and after his death in 1964 she took up residence at Manitowoc. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Leone Ambler, of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Hiller, of Janesville; a son-in-law, O.W. Kaminsky, of Manitowoc, a grandson and four great grandchildren. NICK JAKLIN cemetery #66 Nick Jaklin, 88, of Rt. 1, Denmark, died Sunday evening at the Two Rivers Municipal Hospital. Leonard Woefel will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Jaklin was born Aug. 2, 1883, in the Town of Franklin, Kewaunee County, son of the late Nickolas and Anna Fischer Jaklin. He married Josephine Malechek Oct. 3, 1911. She preceded him in death Nov. 24, 1932. In 1934, he married Mary Koenig. He farmed in the Denmark area all his life and was active with thrashing crews and saw mill work. Mr. Jaklin was a member of St. Mary Church, Tisch Mills. ANTON JAKOUBEK cemetery #89D Anton F. Jakoubek, 72, of 2104 Madison St., Two Rivers, retired plant superintendent at Metal Ware Corp., Two Rivers, died Sunday morning at home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers, the Rev. Robert Rhyner officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Mr. Jakoubek was born Nov. 17, 1899, at Prague, Czechoslovakia, son of the late Frank and Josephine Zobek Jakoubek. When he was four the family brought him to this country, settling at Oconto. In 1915, the family moved to Two Rivers. He was a 42-year employe of the Metal Ware Corp., and for many years until his retirement in 1965 he had been the plant superintendent. He was a member of St. Luke Holy Name Society and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Besides his wife, the former Ella Wotachek, whom he married at Menominee, Mich., May 9, 1924, he leaves two sons (Survivors omitted for privacy.); two sisters, Mrs. Julius P. ANNA JANDA (d. 1921) cemetery #66 A pall hangs over the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel Janda. The angel of Death made a visitation at the home on Thursday evening and took from the family the oldest daughter, Anne, who had been ailing in health for some time. Anne had suffered from an attack of grippe some months ago from which she never fully recovered. Other complications set in and in spite of the attention and care given her by the parents, the daughter passed away. Being in her sixteenth year and just entering the state of womanhood, Anne, with ample and pleasing manners had won the admiration of the people in the community and was especially popular with the younger set of girls. Funeral services were held from St. Mary's Catholic church on Friday morning at ten o'clock, the Rev. Father Shimek officiating. Those who survive her are her parents, three brothers, Edward and Daniel of Manitowoc and Lottie at home; and three sisters, Mayme, Helen and Rose. Mrs. Janda, nee Anna Wranovsky, was born in the Town of Carlton, Kewaunee County, May 30, 1880, daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Nuhlicek Wranovsky. She was married at Tisch Mills Sept. 4, 1899, to Wenzel Janda. The couple settled on a farm just outside Tisch Mills and in 1948 retired to the village. Mr. Janda died Aug. 5, 1958. Mrs. Janda was a member of the Holy Rosary Society of St. Mary Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. May Valentino of Gilroy, Calif., two sons, Edward of Wilsonville, Calif., and Daniel of Milwaukee; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Joseph Kalisek officiating. Internment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Laudy Janda was born on the homestead farm upon which he resided in 1905, a son of Wenzel and Ann Wranovsky Janda. He lived on the farm his entire life. Surviving are his widow, the former Rose Fronk, his parents, who reside in Tisch Mills, a daughter and two sons, all at home, a sister, and two brothers. Jandrey, age 74, Manitowoc, died Friday morning, May 17, 2002 at the Manitowoc Health Care Center after a short battle with lung cancer and congestive heart failure. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2002 at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1033 S. Eighth St., Manitowoc, with the Rev. Bruce Bitter and the Rev. Waldemar Loescher officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Charles was born Sept. 16, 1927 in the town of Cato, Manitowoc County, to the late Charles and Minnie Wunrow Jandrey Sr. He was employed by various building contractors in Milwaukee and Manitowoc. Charles represented the Construction Laborers Union, Local 1067 as secretary/treasurer and business manager from 1965 to 1976. He then was promoted to field representative for the Laborers Local Union 1086 and held that position until his retirement on Jan. 1, 1988. He was married on May 6, 1951 at St. John-St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reedsville. He was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife: three sons and one daughter-in-law: one daughter: two granddaughters, five brothers and sisters-in-law, two sisters. He is further survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Also numerous nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters-in-law: Audrey (Krueger) Jandrey and Josephine (Behnke) Kraus; and three brothers-in-law: Willard Dickert, Howard Zahn and Roland Behnke. Mrs. Janing, nee Augusta Nagel, was born March 26, 1882, in the Town of Liberty, daughter of the late Ludwig and Mathilda Moldenhauer Nagel. She was married to John C. Janning June 9, 1904, at Valders. The couple resided in Newton where Mr. Janing operated a blacksmith business for 51 years. Her husband preceded her in death in 1955. She resided with her daughters until two years ago when she became a resident of Tamarack House, Sheboygan. Mrs. Janing was a member of Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church, Newton, and the Ladies Aid Society of the church. SOPHIA JANSEN cemetery #43 From Der Nord Westen, 19 Aug. 1909: Recently Miss Sophie Jansen, daughter of Bernhard Jansen, had to undergo a cancer operation in Holy Family Hospital. Initially it appeared that the operation was a success, but the patient was so weakened that day by day the weakness increased until death stopped her suffering on Saturday. The deceased, who would have been 20 years old on Monday, is survived by her sorrowing parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Her funeral was held Tuesday morning from St. Boniface Church.

Jansky, age 67, of Wausau, died Tuesday October 2, 2001 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. She was born April 3, 1934 in Racine, daughter of the late Joseph and Ann (Lizdas) Kaupie. On June 11, 1955 she married John P. Jansky at Holy Name Catholic Church in Racine. He survives. Survivors besides her husband John, include 2 daughters, 2 sons, eight grandchildren; and two brothers. Joanne was a former resident of Brookfield for 25 years and was active in the Women’s Club and the Christian Mothers Society of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, wife and homemaker. She was a partner, with her husband, in First Glass Protection, LLP. She managed a ladies boutique in Brookfield from 1980 – 1988 and was Ladies’ Fashion buyer for the store. Additionally she directed style shows and did Tea Room modeling of ladies’ fashions.She was a member of the Marquette University Parents Board from 1981 – 1986. She was a volunteer Board of Director’s member at Wausau Hospital from 1991 – 1997 and Chairman of Wausau Hospital Fund Raising Events in 1991, 1992 and 1993. Joanne had a love and penchant for the game of tennis and it was a part of her life since she was a little girl. As a youngster she enjoyed all kinds of tennis and learned to play the game on red clay courts at the Wisconsin Racquet Club in Racine under the watchful eye of her parents. She became Racine city and county girls champion as a 16 – 18 year old and was ranked #2 in the state of Wisconsin and #4 in the Westerns as an 18 year old. In 1952 she played for the Junior Wightman Cup team. After moving to Brookfield in 1965, Joanne started to play tennis at the Brookfield Tennis Club. She played Adult State League Tennis for the club in the late 1970’s. She was Board member of the Brookfield Tennis Club from 1982 – 1985 and President from 1985-1986. She was a member of the Club Relations Committee for the Wisconsin Tennis Association from 1986 – 1996. Joanne served as Vice President 1990 – 1994, President Elect 1994 – 1995 and District President 1996 – 1997 of the Wisconsin Tennis Association. She also served as chairman of the Personnel and Nominating Committees and was a Management Committee member. Joanne received a five year service award from the United States Tennis Association/Midwest Section. She was a member of the USTA/Midwest Section Junior Recreation Committee, Chairman of the Awards Committee and member of the Nominating committee. Jansky, 75, of Mosinee, WI, passed away peacefully at his home on June, 27, 2008. He was born on January 23, 1933 in Manitowoc, WI to John and Anna (Stransky) Jansky. John was married to Joanne Kaupie on June 11, 1955 in Racine, WI. Joanne preceded him in death on October 2, 2001. He remarried on December 20, 2003 at Saint Matthew's Parish in Wausau, WI. John was a Lieutenant in the Navy Reserves and was honorably discharged in 1956. He was very proud of being part of the 1951-1952 Marquette University basketball team which won the National Catholic Invitational and was the first post-season tournament championship for Marquette. John worked for over twenty years at Globe Union in Milwaukee, WI, which later became Johnson Controls. In later years, John served as the Executive Director for the U.S. Tennis Association – Midwest Section. He loved tennis and had a life-long goal of "growing the game." John was passionate about home improvement, particularly gardening and land- scaping and spent countless hours perfecting any project he began. John was a true and loyal friend, always finding ways to lift others up. He was known as an encourager and always helped others to realize their potential. He was a blessing to all who knew him. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. John is survived by his wife Mary Ellen and several children: two daughters, four sons, and several grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his mother and father as well as a brother, Pete Jansky. The memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Wausau. Funeral services will be held from the Edward Jansky home in Tisch Mills Tuesday at 9:30 am and at 10 o’clock from the St. Mary’s Catholic church. The rosary will be recited at the home tonight. Mrs. Jansky, nee Mary Stangel, was born in Tisch Mills January 1, 1865, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Holub Stangel. She married Joseph Jansky more than 60 years ago. He died 13 years ago. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. John Kaiser of the town of Mishicot; six sons, Frank of Manitowoc, Emil of Chicago, Louis of Rockwood, Edward of Tisch Mills, Otto of Pittsburgh and Victory of Manitowoc; two stepsons, Joseph Jansky of Tisch Mills and Peter Jansky of Norma; a sister Mrs. Charles Schleis of Two Rivers, and a brother John Stangel of Manitowoc. MARY A. "MAYME" JANSKY cemetery #43 Mary A. "Mayme" Jansky, age 98, of 1727 28th St., Two Rivers, died on Friday morning, Oct. 17, 2008, at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers, with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 30, 1910, in the town of Franklin, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Menchl) Polifka, and special stepfather, Charles Budweiser. Mary attended school in Manitowoc, and on Nov. 25, 1936, married Wencel A. Jansky at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Edward A. Radey presided at the ceremony. Wencel preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1984. Mary worked at AT&T in Manitowoc for 11 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She was a very good cook and was known for her delicious kolaches, plum dumplings and homemade bread and rolls. Mary was a loving, caring person who always had a smile for everyone, and enjoyed the simple things in life. She enjoyed going shopping in Green Bay and buying things for her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A few of her favorite things were orange roughy fish from Machut's Supper Club, and her annual trip to Door County, the last one being this past summer. Mary was a member of the Two Rivers Senior Center; St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church; the Ladies of St. Peter the Fisherman; and was a charter member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Mary lived with her daughter, (private), who was her main caregiver along with help from (private). (Survivors omitted for privacy.) In addition to her parents, stepfather, and husband, Wencel, she was preceded in death by an infant brother: Tony. Dave Hoffman officiating, with entombment in the mausoleum. Norbert was born Dec. 14, 1916 in Tisch Mills to the late Edward and Clara Shimek Jansky, and has been a lifelong area resident. He worked as an auto mechanic for the Bartz Motor Company for many years, and later became their shop foremen. He then worked for the Manitowoc Ship Building Company as a welder until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the Mishicot-Tisch Mills Knights of Columbus Council #4807 and co-founded the Squeekers Sip Club in Tisch Mills, and served as its first president. He enjoyed flying as a hobby, working at the Manitowoc Airport, and was a member of the Civil Air Corps. (Survivors omitted for privacy) He was also preceded in death by one brother, Vernon Jansky. He attended St. Mary's College in Winona, MN and Hohenschu College in St. Louis, MO, graduating as a Funeral Director and Embalmer. Paul worked in that profession for many years. He later associated with the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company and Whitehouse Milk Company in Manitowoc as a laboratory chemist and technician. Paul was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church, Manitowoc. Paul was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #710, Manitowoc. He was also a member of the YMCA. WALTER JANTZ KILLED IN MASON CITY IOWA Was Killed by Train in Railway Yards at That Place Word was received here today that Walter Jantz, former Reedsville man, was killed in Mason City, Ia., on Sunday. The message announcing the death of the young man, gave no particulars other that he had been killed by a train in the railway yards there. Jantz was not a railway man by occupation and some mystery attaches to the circumstances. Jantz, who was about 20 years of age, was a son of Daniel Jantz of Reedsville and the message came as a distinct shock. Members of the family have gone to Mason City to bring back the body. The deceased, who has been in failing health for the past year became critically ill a week ago and failed rapidly until the end came at seven Monday evening. Her death proved a shock to her husband, they having been together in a span of over half a century. They have lived retired lives for the past eleven years at their North Eighth street home. Burial of Mrs. Jarchow will take place Thursday afternoon at two o'clock from the home on North Eighth street, with Rev. Menke of the First Reformed church officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen. Born in this City The deceased, whose maiden name was Mary George, was born in Manitowoc in 1854, in the building on Washington street, just east of Eighth street. She was married to Mr. Jarchow here in 1879 and two years ago the couple observed quietly their golden wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Jarchow resided on Washington street between Ninth and Tenth streets, for some forty years, where Mr. Jarchow was engaged in the wagon and carriage business. In 1920 he retired and they located in a new home which Mr. Jarchow erected on North Eighth street. HERMANN H. JARR cemetery #44 DIED In Milwaukee, on Tuesday the 22d inst. Capt. Hermann II Jarr, aged 43 years. Capt. Jarr has been a resident of this County some ten or twelve years, and during most of the time has sailed on the lakes. At the time of his death he was Captain and part owner of the Schooner Jane Louisia. At the close of navigation he laid up his vessel and remained in Milwaukee for the benefit of medical aid, for a disease from which he had suffered serious inconvenience during the greater part of the past year. The news of his death came very unexpectedly to his wife, who had no idea that a fatal termination was so near. He leaves but one child, a boy about ten years old, who was with him in Milwaukee. Jaschob. 84, formerly of 1736 S. 14th Street Sheboygan, died Wednesday morning, October 5, at Willowdale Nursing Home, New Holstein, where he was a resident for one year. He was born November 26, 1903 in Kiel, the son of the late Herman and Mary Pasch Jaschob. He attended Kiel schools. On May 5, 1934 he married Lydia Rupple in Kiel. He was a mechanic at the former Hingiss Garage in Kiel and Verifine Dairy in Sheboygan for approximately 20 years before retiring. He belonged to Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Sheboygan, and was a life-time member of the Kiel Redmen. Survivors include his wife, Lydia, at the Manitowoc Health Care Center; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. The deceased was born Aug. 25, 1883, at Stolp, Pommern, Germany, the daughter of August and Bertha Pasch-Jaschob. A year after her birth the family moved to this city, immediately settling in Kiel. On Aug. 13, 1904, she was united in marriage with Carl Jaschob by the late Rev. John Roeck. She was a member of the Frauenverein and the Missionary Society of the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church. ANNA JASCHOB (d. 1975) cemetery #82 Mrs. Anna Jaschob, 89, a resident of Sunny Ridge since 1966, died there Tuesday evening following a brief illness. The former Anna DeBuhr, she was born in Calumet County on Jan. 6, 1886, a daughter of Tonjes and Janje DeBuhr. She attended school in Calumet County. On September 24, 1907, she married Paul Jaschob at the Reformed church in New Holstein. Prior to her marriage she was a seamstress. Mr. Jaschob was a partner in the operation of the Millhome feed mill before the couple moved to Sheboygan in 1940, residing at 2754 Calumet Drive for many years. He died in July, 1954. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and its Ladies Aid Society. Surviving are a son, Gordon, of Sheboygan; one daughter, Mrs. Milton Schneider of Route 1, Cleveland; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers, Diedrich DeBuhr of West Bend and Alfred of Lancaster, and one sister, Mrs. Delia Huettmann of Port Washington. He was born October 27, 1914 in Kiel, son of the late Frank and Lena Strassburger Jaschob. On February 25, 1941 he married Helen Bancroft in Chilton. The couple celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. Athniel served with the US Army, 689th Field Artillery Battalion, European Theatre from February 1943 to December 1945. “Addie” was employed for approximately 10 years at AA Laun Furniture Company, Kiel. In 1980 he retired after working 25 years at Arps Corp. New Holstein. He was a life-long member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Kiel, a member of the Kiel VFW Post #6707. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, music, building things and playing the accordion. Addie was a devoted father who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and his many friends. AUGUST HERMAN JASCHOB cemetery #82 Aug. Jaschob Aged 74, Dies at Home Here End Comes After Illness of Two Years; Funeral is Saturday A resident of Kiel for 46 years, August Herman Jaschob, aged 74, passed away at his home here shortly before six o'clock Wednesday evening of last week. He had been ailing for the past two years. Mr. Jaschob was born in Pomerania, Germany, on April 16, 1857. He grew to manhood in Germany, and while still there he was united in marriage to Miss Bertha Pasch, on December 1, 1882. Three years later, in 1885, the couple left for America, coming directly to Kiel. On his arrival here he took employment with the Kiel Wooden Ware Company, remaining there for 18 years, after which he worked as the section crew for four years. he then entered the employ of the Kiel Furniture Company, working there until his recent illness caused him to give up. During his life here Mr. Jaschob always took an active part in civic affairs. He was one of the founders of the St. Peter Reformed, serving as elder for 18 years, and was a trustee of the cemetery board. He was also a charter member of the Kiel Fire Department, which organi- zation attended the funeral in a body and escorted the corpse to his last resting place, and was a member of the Kiel Krieger Verein, in which organization he served as secretary. He is servived by one brother, Herman, and a sister, Mrs. Pauline Kanske of this city, and one sister Mrs. Johanna Paschelke of Pomerania, Germany. Three children survive: Mrs. Carl (Anna) Jaschob of here, Mrs. George (Mary) Quehl of Milwaukee, and Arthur of Appleton. There are a (word gone) grandchildren.
BERTHA W. JASCHOB cemetery #82 After a lingering illness, Mrs. August H. Jaschob passed away at her home at 716 Third street at 4 a.m. on Tuesday. She had reached the age of 74 years. She was born March 6, 1858, in Pomerania, Germany, her name before marriage being Bertha Wilhelmina Pasch. On December 1, 1882, she was married to Mr. Jaschob. The couple left Germany in 1885, coming directly to Kiel, where they lived for the remainder of their lives. Mr. Jaschob preceded her in death December 30 of last year. To the couple three children were born; Mrs. George (Mary) Quehl, Milwaukee; Mrs. Carl (Anna) Jaschob, Kiel, and Arthur of Appleton. Two brothers also survive; Frank Pasch of Milwaukee and August Pasch of Ottowa, Ontario, Canada. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church. The Rev. E. L. Worthman officiating and burial was in the Kiel cemetery. Jaschob was born in Pommerania, Germany, February 4, 1879, the son of the late Carl and Wilhelmina Jaschob. He came to America with his parents in 1888, directly to Kiel. August 14, 1904, he married Anna Jaschob. She passed away in 1947. For 13 years he was employed by the Kiel Wooden Ware company and for 38 years by the Laun Furniture company. He retired eight years ago. Surviving are six sons, Harvey, Hubert, Calvin, Clarence and Carl jr. of Kiel, and Harold of New Holstein; a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Forbes of Kiel; three brothers, Frank and Otto of Kiel, and Herman of Marshfield, and 15 grandchildren. CARL JASCHOB, SR. cemetery #82 The death of Carl Jaschob, 75, occurred at his home here Thursday evening, after he had been in poor health for some time. The deceased was born in Wusaken, Pommerania, Germany, October 3, 1852. In 1875 he was united in marriage to Miss Wilhelmina Grummisch, setting with his bride in Wittbeck, Germany. Here they made their home until in March, 1888, when they left for the United States. Upon their arrival here Mr. Jaschob was employed by the Kiel Woodenware Co., remaining until 1910, when he purchased a farm near Rockville. This farm he conducted until 1915, when he moved to Kiel and retired from active life. The couple had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in January, 1925. Nine children were born to them, two of whom died in infancy. Surviving children are Carl, Frank, and Otto, of Kiel, Paul of Millhome, and Herman of Suring, and Mrs. Robert Casper and Mrs. Werner Kanske of Kiel. Two sisters survive him, Mrs. Johanna Paschke of Stolp, Germany, and Mrs. Pauline Kanske of Kiel. Two surviving brothers are August and Herman of Kiel. Mr. Jaschob was a devoted member of the St. Peter Reformed church. Funeral services were held from the home Monday at 1:30, and from the St. Peters Refomed church at two o'clock, with interment in the Kiel cemetery. The Rev. Mr. Jaschob worked in the packing department at the A. A. Laun Furniture Company in Kiel for 35 years. He married Marion Fromm. EDGAR A. JASCHOB cemetery #82 Edgar Jaschob Passes Away After Illness Was Graduate of Local School; Services Held On Monday Following an illness of two years’ duration, Edgar H. A. Jaschob, 20, passed away on Friday at 1 p. m. The deceased; practically a lifelong resident of this city, was well-known and well—liked here. He was born Dec. 24, 1905, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Jaschob. His mother, nee Mary Pasch, preceded him in death Oct. 5, 1916. He was both baptized and confirmed by the Rev. William Rech in the St. Peter Reformed church here. He attended the Kiel public school and the St. Peter Reformed Sunday school and was also a staunch and faithful member of the church. Following his public school education, he worked for several years for the Kiel Furniture Co. here, and one year at the Sheboygan Fruit Box Co. factory, which work he was forced to give up because of his ill health. Seven years ago he had enjoyed a six month vacation in California. Surviving him are his father; three brothers - Edwin of near Millhome, William of Kiel, and Alvin of Rio Vista, Calif., who visited three weeks this winter, returning Feb. 16; and four sisters - Mrs. Emil ( Emma ) Fischer of Sheboygan, Mrs. Calvin (Lorena) Arpke of Franklin, Mrs. Martin (Anita) Mahloch of near Kiel, and Mrs. Arvin (Vera) Semph of near Ada. The last sad rites were held here Monday afternoon, with services at 1:30 at the home of his father at 1032 North Seventh street, and at 2 o’clock at the St. Peter Reformed church, the Rev. E. L. Worthman officiating. Interment was in the Kiel cemetery. The local Redmen lodge, of which he was a member, attended the services in a body. Pallbearers were: Roy Duerwaechter, Leonard Kraft, Eldred Voland, Clarence Weiskopf, Alfred Greve and Harvey Boeselager. EDWARD F. JASCHOB cemetery #84 Edward F. Jaschob, 83, R. 2, Kiel, a retired Town of Schleswig farmer, died early today at home. Born on April 4, 1891 in Kiel, he was a son of the late Herman and Mary Pasch Jaschob. He attended Kiel Public School. A World War I veteran, he served with the U.S. Army from March, 1918, until May, 1919. On April 7, 1923 he married Norma Backhaus in the Town of Rhine. The couple lived in Kiel before moving to Schleswig in 1931. He was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Kiel; Manitowoc Tribe 49, Improved Order of Redmen and the 24-Hour club of the lodge. FRANK F. JASCHOB cemetery #82 Funeral services were held Wednesday for Frank F. Jaschob, 80, of 312 St. Paul Street, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ with the Rev. John Baumann officiating. Burial was in the Kiel cemetery. Born June 6, 1887, in Germany he was a son of the late Carl and Wilhelmina Jaschob. He came to the United States with his parents as a young man, locating on a farm near Rockville. The family later moved to Kiel. He married Lena Stassburger of the Town of Schleswig at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Kiel, October 8, 1913. The couple lived in Kiel since their marriage. Mrs. Jaschob died in May, 1955. Mr. Jaschob was employed at the A. A. Laun Furniture Company, where he was a machinist and foreman for 50 years before retiring in 1952. He was a member of St. Peter’s church, the Men’s Brotherhood of the church and a former member of the church consistory. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Everett Buss of Sheboygan and Mrs. Paul Stecker of Route 4, Manitowoc; three sons, Athneil and Marvin, both of Kiel, and Ralph of West Bend; 18 grandchildren and five great-grand- children and two brothers, Herman of De Pere and Otto of Kiel. HARVEY JASCHOB cemetery #82 Harvey Jaschob, 63, of 218 Fremont St. Kiel, died unexpectedly at his home Monday afternoon, the victim of an apparent heart attack. He was born Jan. 31, 1906, in Kiel, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl Jaschob. He attended Kiel elementary and high schools. Mr. Jaschob was employed at the A. A. Laun Furniture Co., retiring early in 1968. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Peter's UCC. HELEN JASCHOB cemetery #82 Helen V. Jaschob, 81, of 307 North St. Kiel, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999 at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. She is the former Helen Bancroft, born Nov. 14, 1917 in Chilton, daughter of the late Trubert and Ethel Town Bancroft. She was a graduate of Chilton High School. On Feb. 25, 1941 she married Athniel “Addie Jaschob in Chilton. The couple celebrated their 57 wedding anniversary. He preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 1998. She was a longtime member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Kiel and the Women’s Guild and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Kiel. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, bird watching and baseball. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and her many friends. Survivors include her children (private), six grandsons, one great grandson, and one great granddaughter; two brothers, Roy (Marge) Bancroft and Harold (Marlene) Bancroft; three sisters, Ruth (Norval) Hunt, Peg (Ellsworth) Schuette and Bernice Jost; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, neighbors and close friends. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ray Kornetzke, and a brother-in-law, Gerald Jost. Funeral services were held at St. Peter United Church of Christ in Kiel with the Rev. Raymond C. He had been ill for more than a year. He was born Sept. 30, 1862, in Germany, and came to America at the age of 21. He married Miss Mary Pasch and together they operated a farm in the town of Rhine. In 1917 he moved to Kiel and for the past 11 years he lived with his daughter and son-in-law. Jaschob was the son of the late Ernst and Caroline Birr Jaschob. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Emil (Emma) Fischer, Sheboygan; Mrs. Calvin (Lorena) Arpke, Franklin; Mrs. Martin (Anita) Mahloch, Kiel; three sons, Eddie of Millhome; William of Kiel; and Alvin of Sheboygan; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1916, a son Edgar in 1932, and a daughter, Mrs. Arwin Semph, in 1949. She is the former Hilda Popp, born May 16, 1904 in the Town of New Holstein, daughter of the late Herman and Emilia Voss Popp. She attended school in rural New Holstein. On Feb. 17, 1923 she married William Jaschob. Her husband preceded her in death in 1967. She was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Kiel and the Women’s Guild. Survivors include nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Florence; one sister and two brothers. The deceased was born Maria Augusta Karoline Pasch on August 23, 1866 in Rambow, Pomerania, Germany and had reached the age of 50 years, 1 month and 7 days. She came to America with her parents in 1883, and they settled in Rockville. In 1888 she married Mr. Herman Jaschob, who survives her, and the couple lived in Kiel until 1910 moving to a farm near Millhome where she died. The marriage was blessed with nine children of whom eight are still living, namely Mrs. Emil Fischer in Sheboygan, Mrs. Calvin Arpke in Franklin, Anita, Vera, Eddie, William, Alvin and Edgar who are all at home. She is further survived by her aged mother, one sister Mrs. August Jaschob in Kiel and three brothers, Frank Pasch in Milwaukee, August in Canada and Carl in Germany. Jaschob, 92, a former Kiel resident and a resident of Willowdale Nursing Home in New Holstein for five years, died Sunday morning at St. Nicholas Hospital where he had been a patient for four days. He was born September 4, 1890, in Kiel, son of Carl and Wilhelmina Grummisch Jaschob. He attended school in Kiel. Mr. Jaschob served with the US Army in Europe during World War I. He married Erna Wendling on May 9, 1925, in Kiel, where the couple resided following marriage. Mrs. Jaschob died in 1979. Mr. Jaschob was employed at AA Laun Furniture Co. in Kiel until his retirement in 1956. He was a member of St. Peter UCC in Kiel. Mr. Jaschob is survived by nieces and nephews. PAUL H. JASCHOB cemetery #82 Paul H. Jaschob, 72, of 2754 Calumet Dr., a retired Millhome flour mill operator, died late Monday night at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness. Born Nov. 23, 1881, at Witbeck, Germany, he came to the United States with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Jaschob, in 1887, settling at Kiel, Wis. Mr. Jaschob worked at the Kiel Flour Mills until 1918 and at Appleton for two years before joining in partnership with Arwin Eickhoff in the operation of a flour mill at Millhome in 1920. Since his retirement in 1940, he had made his home in Sheboygan. On Sept. 24, 1907, he was married to Anna DeBuhr at New Holstein. Active in music circles in the Kiel area for many years, Mr. Jaschob was a former director of the Kiel Mannerchor and formerly directed the choirs of the Kiel Reformed Church and the Bethel Reformed Church at Ada. Survivors are his wife; a son, Gordon, Sheboygan; one daughter, Mrs. Milton Schneider, town of Meeme; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary Kanske, Sheboygan, and four brothers, Carl, Frank and Otto, of Kiel, and Herman, of Marshfield, Wis. A son, Ermin, died June 4, 1911. Two sisters and a brother also preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Zion Reformed Church with the Rev. Clarence Koehler, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Kiel Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels from 3 p.m. Wednesday until 11 a.m. Thursday, and at the church from Thursday noon until the hour of services.
RALPH L. JASCHOB cemetery #84 Ralph L. Jaschob, age 75 of Kiel, died Saturday morning, April 23, 1994, at his home. He was born May 17, 1918, in Kiel, Wis., son of the late Frank and Lena Strassburger Jaschob. He graduated from Kiel High School. He first married the former Margaret Spetta. She died in 1976. On June 14, 1980, he married the former Dorothy Goebel at St. Peter UCC, Kiel. He was employed at Briggs and Stratton Co. in Milwaukee until his retirement. WILHELMINA JASCHOB cemetery #82 Mrs. Wilhelmina Jaschob, aged 87, nee Grommisch, passed away at the home of her son, Otto, 319 Paine street in this city Saturday morning at 9:30 o’clock, following an illness of six weeks. The deceased was born April 20, 1853 in Kleingarte, Grosgarte, Pommerania, Germany. She was married there to Carl Jaschob on January 9, 1874, and in the spring of 1888 in April the Jaschob family came directly to Kiel where they have always resided. Mr. Jaschob passed away on February 16, 1928. Nine children were born to them of whom a son Alfred and a daughter Minnie have preceded their parents in death many years ago. Since the death of her husband she has always made her home with her son Otto. Survivors are seven children as follows: Mrs. Robert (Augusta) Casper of this city, Mrs. Werner (Mary) Kanske of Sheboygan, Carl, Frank, and Otto of Kiel, Paul of Sheboygan, and Herman of Suring. He attended Kiel public school. On February 17, 1923 he was married to Hilda Popp of the Town of New Holstein and the couple made their home in Kiel. He was a painter and also was employed at the Kiel wooden Ware company and as a high school custodian. A World War I veteran, Mr. Jaschob served with the 332nd Field Artillery, Black Hawk Division. He was a life-long member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ; Manitowoc Tribe No. 49 of the Improved Order of Redmen; and 24 Hour Club of the lodge; and Wolf-Olson Post 1230, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Sheboygan. Surviving are his wife; two sisters; Mrs. Lorena Arpke and Mrs. Anita Mahloch, both of Howards Grove-Millersville; and two brothers, Edward, Route 2, Kiel and Alvin, Sheboygan.
