AUGUST HARTEL cemetery #89B August Hartel, a Two Rivers young man, was brought here on the six o'clock train from Green Bay last evening in a precarious condition. It appears that Mr. Hartel is suffering with a severe case of dropsy. He was conveyed in the ambulance from the depot here to his home in Two Rivers. MARY HARTER cemetery #43 Mrs. Frank Harter, 74 of 1418 Madison St., Manitowoc, a lifelong resident of Manitowoc County, died at the Holy Family Hospital Sunday evening after a short illness. Funeral services will be held at the Pfeffer Funeral Home in Manitowoc at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday and at 9 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church. The Rev. Alfred Pritzl will officiate, and burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Mrs. Harter, the former Mary Ellermann, was born in Whitelaw in 1879, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ellermann. She was married to Frank Harter in 1910, and the couple moved to Manitowoc. Survivors include the husband, a brother, John of Manitowoc; and six sisters, Mrs. Herman Klann of Cato, Mrs. Louis Hermann of Branch, Mrs. Frank Stauber of Sturgeon Bay, Mrs. Sylvester Schneider of Sheboygan, Mrs. George Augustine of Port Washington and Mrs. Robert McCabe of St. Paul, Minn. ELIZABETH M. HARTL cemetery #44 Miss Elizabeth M. Hartl, 67, of 1340A Michigan Ave., Manitowoc, died at 12:04 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where she has been a patient since Oct. 21. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and 10 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, the Rev. E.A. Radey officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Miss Hartl was born Oct. 12, 1895, at Seymour, daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Kronsnoble Hartl. She moved to Lena with her family at an early age, attending schools there and at Oconto. She was graduated from Oconto High School, then moved to Manitowoc where she attended Manitowoc County Normal School, from which she was graduated in 1925. She then taught in Manitowoc County rural schools until her retirement in 1955. She taught at Mishicot Grade School for eight years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Manitowoc Homemakers Club. Survivors include six sisters, Mrs. Margaret Baum of Two Rivers, Mrs. Dan Zahorik of Manitowoc, Mrs. Eddie Baum of Santa Anna, Calif., Mrs. Sophie Schipper of Manitowoc, Mrs. Adolph Kirt of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, Mrs. Julia Rowe of Francis Creek and many nieces and nephews. MARY HARTL cemetery #44 Mrs. Jacob Hartl, 79, of 1840 Michigan avenue, died this morning at the Holy Family hospital, following a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Pfeffer funeral home and at 10 o'clock at the Holy Innocents church, the Rev. Kenneth Rodgers officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemettery (sic). Mrs. Hartl, nee Mary Kronsnoble, was born in 1867 at Center, Outagamie county, and in 1891 was married to Mr. Hartl. They located in this city. He died seven years ago. Survivors are seven daughters, Mrs. Dan Zahorik, Elizabeth and Mrs. Albert Schipper of this city, Mrs. Oscar Baum of Two Rivers, Mrs. Edward Baum of Santa Anna, Calif., Mrs. Adolph Kirt of Kossuth and Mrs. Clifford Rowe of Francis Creek; brother John of Stephenson, Mich.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. MARY HARTLAUB cemetery #21 Mrs. Marie Anna Hartlaub died Friday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Math. Niederprim, with whom she made her home. Mrs. Hartlaub, who had been an invalid for five years, had reached the age of 86. Burial took place from St. Gregory's church at 10 o'clock to the adjoining cemetery at which a large number of relatives attended. The Christian Mothers' Society, of which the deceased was a member, attended in a body. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Neiderprim, St. Nazianz, and Mrs. Albert Gnadt of Clarks Mills, and two sons, Alex of Newton, and Peter of Whitelaw. PETER HARTLAUB cemetery #7 Peter A. Hartlaub, 72, of 819 Chicago St., Manitowoc, died Saturday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mittnacht Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. James W. Craanen will officiate and burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Whitelaw. Mr. Hartlaub was born June 17, 1897, at Whitelaw, son of the late Peter and Anna Fischer Hartlaub. He attended St. Michael School, Whitelaw, and was engaged most of his working life in the garage and auto repair service, operating "Pete's Garage" at Whitelaw from 1919 until 1936 and then continuing in the same work at Branch for another seven years. He married Clara T. Grall Aug. 25, 1919, at Whitelaw. Mr. Hartlaub was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., during World War II and until he retired in 1949. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Patrick (Helen) Barnes, of Milwaukee, Mrs. Hugo (Lucille) Kleckner, of Two Rivers and Mrs. Chester J. (Marian) Shedlosky, of Branch; five brothers, Joseph and Alex, of Manitowoc, John, of Chicago, Louis, of Petosky, Mich., and Ted, of Appleton; two sisters, Mrs. Edward Gosz, of Appleton and Mrs. Louis Moser, of Franksville and 28 grand- children. A daughter, two sisters and a brother preceded him in death. Friends may call at the funeral home where a Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock this Monday evening. CAROLINE HARTLICH cemetery #33 Mrs. Caroline Hartlich, age 76, of Two Rivers, died Monday, July 29, 2002 at the Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002 at the Salvation Army Chapel, 415 N. Sixth St., Manitowoc. Major Harry Litherland will officiate with burial of her cremated remains at Knollwood Memorial Gardens. Caroline was born Aug. 21, 1925 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Carl and Helen Reinke Fanslau. She grew up in Two Rivers and attended local schools. On Jan. 1, 1949 she was married to Carl Hartlich at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Two Rivers. Caroline worked for the Mirro Aluminum Co. until 1970. In 1970 the couple began managing the Vets Club in Two Rivers until 1976. In 1984, Carl and Caroline moved to Lakewood, Wis., returning to Two Rivers in 1993. On April 21, 1995 Carl preceded Caroline in death. Caroline was a member of the Salvation Army, VFW Post #1248 Auxiliary of Two Rivers, Two Rivers Senior Citizens and also played in the Kitchen Band at the Senior Center. Caroline was a very active volunteer for the Salvation Army including their annual bell ringing at Christmas. RUDOLPH HARTLICH cemetery #89C Two Rivers Man Drowns in River Funeral services for Rudolph Hartlich, 56, of Two Rivers, who drowned early Saturday in the East Twin river, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran church, the Rev. W.G. Haase officiating. Burial will be in Forest cemetery. The body is at the Klein and Stangel funeral home, where it may be viewed tonight. It will be removed to the church Wednesday morning to lie in state until the services. Mr. Hartlich was fishing from the Two Rivers city dock at the foot of 15th street, according to police, when he suddenly tumbled into the water. A boy fishing in the vicinity called for the coast guard across the river and a crew immediately responded with a surf boat. Dragging operations finally brought the body to the surface after three runs over the area. Coast guardsmen worked over the man for an hour, but were unable to revive him and he was pronounced dead by Dr. Stephen Weld. High School Janitor Mr. Hartlich, a janitor at the Washington high school for the past 10 years, was born in Saxony, Germany in 1890 and served as city clerk in his home town for several years before coming to America in 1913. Upon arrival in this county he went to live with an uncle in North Dakota, later moving to Mellon and then to Ashland. In Ashland he married the former Clara Braunlich, also a native of Germany, on June 1, 1906, and the following January the couple moved to Wausau where Mr. Hartlich took employment in an ice cream plant. In 1916 they came to Two Rivers where he became employed in the rolling mill of the Aluminum Goods Manufacturing company, remaining at that work for about 12 years before joining the maintenance force at the high school. Prominent Musician While in Wausau, the deceased was a member of the 128th infantry of the Wisconsin National Guard and was a prominent musician in the company's band. In Two Rivers he was a member of both the male and mixed choruses at the St. John's Lutheran church, as well as the Freier Saengerbund at Manitowoc, always being highly interested in music. Survivors are his wife, two sons, Carl of Two Rivers and Sgt. Norman, now with the army occupation forces in Japan; one daughter, Cpl. Johanna of the Woman's Army corps. stationed at Biggs Field, Texas; two brothers and one sister in Germany and one brother in Argentina. Manitowoc Herald Times, Manitowoc, Wis. FRANCIS HARTMAN cemetery #43 Francis P. Hartman, age 91, of 1716 Philippen St., Manitowoc, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Francis was born June 6, 1916, in the town of Kossuth, son of the late John and Anna Holschbach Hartman. Francis married the former Ruth Popp on May 15, 1941. She preceded him in death in October 1953. On Dec. 3, 1960, he married the former Pearl Pharris Theodoru at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. She preceded him in death in January 2001. Francis worked for Silver Lake College in the maintenance department for many years until his retirement in 1978. He was a deeply religious man who loved his family and was proud of them. Francis was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Manitowoc, and Florida Eagles Clubs, Florida Elks Club and Moose Lodge. He enjoyed old-time music, gardening, playing cards, spending winters in Florida, traveling, fixing things and visiting with his family and friends. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) He was preceded in death by his first wife: Ruth Popp Hartman; his second wife: Pearl Theodoru Hartman; one daughter: Joanne Hartman; his brothers: Clarence, John and Anthony; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Milton (Eunice) Popp, Harold (Ruth) Popp, George (Margaret) Popp, and Charles, John and William Pharris. PENELOPE "PEARL" HARTMAN cemetery #44 Pearl Hartman, age 85, of 100 S. 18th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday, January 10, 2001, at Holy family Memorial Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2001, at St. Mary's Home Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Thomas Wojciechowski O.F.M., with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Pearl was born February 27, 1915, at Fond du Lac, daughter of the late Alex and Mary Hungas Pharris. She was educated at Fond du Lac and married Alex Theodoru, October 25, 1940, at Fond du Lac. Alex and Pearl owned and operated Coney Island Restaurant Manitowoc. Alex preceded her in death September 23, 1948. Pearl then operated Pearl's Bar at Clover from 1952 to 1956. On December 3, 1960, she was married to Francis P. Hartman at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. From 1976 to 1998 they retired to Florida. They celebrated 40+ years together. Pearl enjoyed her family, many friends, cooking and sewing. Survivors include her husband, Francis; surviving are 9 children, numerous grandchildren a great grandchildren, a brother and sister in law, two sisters in law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Joanne Hartman, a grandchild, Leaha Sue Theodoru; two brothers, Charles and John. The deceased was a son of the late Richard and Anna Spettel Hartmann, born June 11, 1895, in the town of Schleswig. He attended the district school there and later attended a parochial school in St. Nazianz. For the past 19 years he had made his home with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bunge, in the town of New Holstein. AMALIA HARTMANN cemetery #44 From Der Nord Westen, 07 Jan. 1886: Death of Mrs. Amalia Hartmann, wife of Mr. Andreas Hartmann, last Fri.(01 Jan) The deceased came to Manitowoc with her husband about 30 years ago. He set up a saddle business and she began a fashion shop. Later they gave up both businesses and established a store for vegetables, nuts, sweets and toys. The deceased left her husband with two grown children. Burial took place last Sunday.

Kiel. - Mrs. William Hartmann, aged 58, formerly of this vicinity and a resident of Sheboygan for the past three years, died Thursday afternoon at St. Nicholas hospital. The deceased was Miss Augusta Wagner before her marriage. She was born in the town of Centerville on May 3, 1876, and was married to William Hartmann on June 2 1896. The couple settled on a farm in Osman and later moved to a farm in the town of Schleswig where they resided for twelve years. They made their home In Sheboygan for the past three years. The deceased was born in Austria-Hungary on September 16, 1878 as Elizabeth Mueller; she came to Wisconsin in 1910 and was married that November. The couple located on a farm in the town of Rhine, and resided there until Mr. Hartmann's death on February 16, 1942, after which she sold her farm last fall and moved to the Anna M. Reiss Home in Sheboygan, where she had spent the last three months. Surviving is a brother, Michael Mueller of Madison. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, and at 10 o'clock services were held at the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church, with the Rev. F.X. Reiss home in Sheboygan were she had been the past three months. Surviving is a brother, Michael Mueller, of Madison. There were no children. Funeral services were held on Saturday of last week, with burial in the St. Gregory's church cemetery. The Rev. Fintan Holzknecht officiated. The deceased was born in Germany and came to St. Nazianz twenty years ago. She is survived by her husband and one foster child, Mary. FRANK HARTMANN cemetery #21 Frank Hartmann Dies At Hospital Sunday Funeral services were held at St. Gregory's Catholic church in St. Nazianz yesterday, Wednesday for Frank Hartmann, 62, who died at St. Nicholas hospital Sunday. He was born in the town of Schleswig May 4, 1894, on the home farm of his late parents, Henry and Mathilda Spettel Hartmann. He attended St. Gregory school at St. Nazianz. May 29, 1938, he married the former Mary Brieger, who preceded him in death July 25 of this year. The couple lived on the farm homestead six miles southwest of St. Nazianz. Mr. Hartmann was a member of the Holy Name society of the church and of the Catholic Order of Foresters. GEORGE R. HARTMANN cemetery #21 George R. Hartmann, age 80, died unexpectedly Thursday, February 3, 2005 at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. He was born December 30, 1924 in the Town of New Holstein, a son of the late Edward and Elizabeth Dorn Hartmann. George attended St. Ann Catholic School and served in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1950. On June 20, 1970 he married Magdalene "Mutzie" Schwartz at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in St. Nazianz. George was employed with Bremer Manufacturing Inc. in St. Anna until his retirement. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic church in New Holstein and the Holy Name Society. Survivors include his wife Mutzie, a son, four sisters, and six brothers He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Sr. Mary John Hartmann O.S.F. and a brother, Edward Hartmann. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, February 7, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. The Rev. Frank Weber will officiate and burial will be in the St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz. She was born March 19, 1921, at Mt. Calvary, daughter of Albert M. and Rosalia (Mehler) Kohlmann. The family later moved to St. Cloud where she attended the local schools. On June 21, 1941, she was married to Raymond C. Hartmann of Schleswig at the St. Clausius Cathloic Church at St. Cloud. The couple operated the Hartmann homestead farm until 1956 when they moved to Kiel. Mr. Hartmann died on Aug. 12, 1961. She was a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church at Kiel and it's associated Christian Mother's Society. She is survived by her parents and three brothers, and was preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home at Kiel and at 10 a.m. at Ss. Mrs. Hartmann was born in the town of Herman on June 30, 1868, the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Spettel. In May 1889, she was married to John Hartman. The couple located on a farm in the town of Schleswig, but after Mr. Hartman’s death in 1903 she moved to Kiel. Later she lived in New Holstein and Sheboygan, and for the past two and one-half years she has been living in Elkhart Lake. Among the survivors are five sons, Edward of New Holstein, Joseph of Sheboygan, Ted of Chilton, Albin of Marengo, Illinois, and Othmar of Brillion; four brothers, Edward, Henry, John and Jacob Spettel, all of Kiel and vicinity, and a sister, Miss Mary Spettel of Wilmette, Illinois. On June 6, 1921, she married Philip Hartmann at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. The couple moved to Manitowoc in 1962. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1971. RAYMOND HARTMANN cemetery #83 KIEL FARMER KILLED IN FALL Instant death came to a well known Kiel resident, Raymond Hartman, 59, last Saturday when he fell from a tractor pulling a load of hay, and was crushed when run over by the wheels of the hay wagon. The tractor was being driven by a nine year old relative, Richard Schnell and the accident occurred on a town road about three miles northeast of Kiel. Death was attributed to a crushed chest and skull fracture following examination by a physician. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the SS. Peter and Paul church in Kiel with the Rev. George Kiefer officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery. Mr. Hartman was born in the Town of Schleswig, July 10, 1902, the son of Herman and Mary Laures Hartman. He attended SS. RICHARD HARTMANN Richard Hartmann to be Buried in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery Richard Hartmann, 76, passed away at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Bunge in the town of New Holstein, northwest of here. He had been failing in health since last fall. Mr. Hartmann was born November 30, 1861, in the town of Schleswig, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hartmann, and was married to Miss Anna Spettel of the same township on May 6th, 1890. The couple lived on the old Hartmann homestead (now owned by William Collin) near Steinthal. After thirteen years they moved to what is now the Herman Sievert farm a short distance away. There the family lived until 1913, when Mrs. Hartmann passed away. Mr. Hartmann and his children then moved to Kiel, where Mr. Hartmann was employed by the Kiel Wooden Ware Co. After four years he moved to the farm of his son John, where he spent his last years. He is survived by two children, Mrs. John (Rose) Bunge, and Adolph, who makes his home with his sister; two grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Heinzen of St. Nazianz and Mrs. John Pfeifer of Sheboygan. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home and at 9:30 at the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church here. ROSE HARTMANN cemetery #83 Death claimed Mrs. John Hartmann at the hospital in Sheboygan on Sunday afternoon after a brief illness with convulsions. She was taken to the hospital Saturday, where a Caesarian operation was performed on the young woman in an effort to save her life, but in vain. Rosa Schnell was born in Bakersville, Wood county, August 22, 1899, reaching the age of 22 years, 3 months and 19 days. She was united in marriage to John Hartmann in Kiel, August 2 of this year and the couple made their home on Third st. in this city. She leaves her grief-stricken husband, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schnell of Schleswig, one brother and two sisters. The funeral took place on Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock with services at S. THEODORE P. HARTMANN cemetery #83 Theodore P. Hartmann, 72, of 926 Fremont St., Kiel, died Friday evening at St. Nicholas Hospital. Born April 9, 1896 in the Town of Schleswig, Manitowoc County, a son of the late John and Margaret Spettel Hartmann, he attended the district school. On Nov. 10, 1925, he was married to Florentine Casper of the Town of Liberty at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in St. Nazianz. They farmed in the Towns of Liberty, Schleswig and Chilton before moving to Kiel in 1956. He was employed at the A.A. Laun Furniture Co. in Kiel for 11 years before his retirement in 1961. Mr. Hartmann served with the U.S. Army during World War I, with Co. B, 56th Infantry from July, 1918, to July, 1919, serving overseas for nine months. He was a member of Tri-County VFW Post 6707 of Kiel, and Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Parish, Kiel. Survivors are his wife; one daughter, (name omitted for privacy); four grandchildren, and four brothers, Edward of Manitowoc, Joseph of Sheboygan, Albin of Marengo Ill, and Othmar of Brillion. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. George (Marion) Christel, in August, 1966. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. at Ss. William Hartmann, 1529 Oakland avenue, former resident of Kiel, passed away at 1:45 a. m. today at St. Nicholas hospital. He had been making his home with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Schilling, and was a resident of Sheboygan for the past 13 years. Mr. Hartman was born April 13, 1871, in the town of Schleswig, and was married to Augusta Wagner on June 2, 1896, the couple settling on a farm near Osmanand later moving to a farm in town Schleswig, where they resided for 12 years. They came to Sheboygan in 1929. His wife passed away on June 7, 1934, and a daughter, Mrs. Ed. (Anna) Hoefler, passed away in March of this year. Survivors are eight children, Mrs. William (Adelheit) Nettling, Mrs. John (Mathilda) Nettling, Mrs. Reuben (Lena) Schilling, John and Bernhard of Sheboygan, Mrs. William (Erma) Willihnganz of Wauwatosa, Mrs. Clarence (Agnes) Weiskopf of Kiel, and Albert of Meggers; one brother, Anton Hartmann, of Oshkosh; 31grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:30 a. m. at the Reuben Schilling residence and at 9 a. rn. at St. Peter Claver Catholic church. PAUL HARTSWORM cemetery #43 Paul Hartsworm, 67, of 2705 Clark St., Manitowoc, died Thursday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a lingering illness. Funeral services will be at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Clement Kern officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Hartsworm was born March 24, 1895, in the Town of Ellington, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Hartsworm. He married Mary Bonin June 20, 1918, at Cooperstown and the family resided for a time at Denmark. He was employed for 49 1/2 years by the Chicago and North Western Railroad, Lakeshore Division and was station agent at Maribel for 18 years, operator at Shawano for six years and moved to Manitowoc in 1949 when he became telegrapher. He was a member of Order of Railroad Telegraphers, Holy Name Society of his church, Eagles Aerie 706 and Perpetual Adoration Society. Among survivors are his wife; a son, Keith, of Appleton; a daughter, Mrs. James Frechette, of Winnabago, Neb.; two sisters, Mrs. Adeline Grady, of Appleton and Mrs. Cora Nelson, of Waterford, Mich., and five grandchildren. F.P. Keicher of Chilton to have charge of the services. Interment will be at Evergreen cemetery. Mrs. Hartung, nee Juliette Bean, is well remembered in this city and news of her death at Chicago came as a complete surprise to friends and relatives here. Mrs. Hartung was a native of Manitowoc having been born here May 13, 1855 but for the past forty years she had made her home in Chicago. Mrs. Hartung has kept in close touch with the affairs of the city however, coming here for an extended visit every year. Decedent is survived by her husband A.J. Hartung of Chicago, one son C.B. ROBERT F. HARTUNG cemetery #44 TWO RIVERS MAN DIES AT LOS ANGELES TWO RIVERS, Sept. 1-Word was received in Manitowoc yesterday of the death of Robert F. Hartung of Chicago who pased (sic) away Thursday night at 11:20 at Los Angeles where he had been visiting his brother- in-law Henry Towsley. Mr. Hartung had been ill only two weeks and the news of his death was recived here with surprise. Born at Two Rivers in 1862, Mr. Hartung spent the greater part of his lift (sic) at Chicago, where he did carpenter work. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Matilda Hartung, a former Manitowoc woman and a daughter, Mrs. Emil Fehring of Chicago. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. William Schuetze of this city, Mrs. Stelzer of Mishicot and a brother, August Hartung of Chicago. The wife of August Hartung is critically ill at her home at Chicago and doubt is expressed for her recovery. Her sister, Mrs. Mary Ryan, Washington street, Manitowoc is with her. The body of Mr. Hartung was shipped from Los Angeles last night and the funeral will be held at Manitowoc upon its arrival with burial to be in Evergreen cemetery. Although details of the funeral have not been completd (sic), it will probably be held from Mrs. Ryan's home, Mrs. Ryan being a sister-in-law of Mr. Hartung.
