ALDEN J. DRAB cemetery #32 Alden J. Drab, age 75, of Two Rivers, died Thursday morning, July 17, 1997, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 21, 1997, at Klein and Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers, and 10 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Rev. Larry Seidl will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum. He was born June 18, 1922, at Norman, Kewaunee County, son of the late Joseph F. and Mary Walecka Drab. On June 24, 1944, he married Marcella Zellner at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. The couple celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1994. Al was employed at GTE for 39 years serving in Seymour, Plymouth, Denmark and Two Rivers, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the men of St. Luke, the Two Rivers Senior Center, and was a former member of the Two Rivers Kiwanis Club. Survivors include his wife, Marcella Drab, four sisters and a brother-in-law, a brother and sister-in-law, an additional brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Maynard, five brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Friends may call at Klein and Stangel Funeral Home from 5-8 p:m. Sunday. AUGUST C. DRAGER cemetery #82 Funeral services for August C. Drager, 78, of 523 Fremont St., Kiel, who died Friday night at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton, will be held Tuesday. The Rev. C. L. Reiter, pastor, will officiate at the 1:30 p.m. service at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel. Burial will be in the Kiel Cemetery. JOHANN DRAHEIM cemetery #78 From Der Nord Westen, 19 Nov. 1903: Death Wed. of John Draheim in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gustav Mueller here. The deceased was born 05 Sep. 1819 in Klonia, Kreis Conitz, West Prussia, married Eva Zutz on 24 Mar. 1845, with whom he celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1895. They came to America in 1854 and settled in Reedsville. Following his wife's death he moved in with his daughter, the above named Mrs. Mueller. He is survived by 5 children.

HERMAN DRAKE cemetery #87 Herman Drake, 88, of Kiel, died Sunday evening at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. And Mrs. Carl Lenz, at Louis Corners, where he had been living the past four years. He was born on the Drake homestead farm April 10, 1875, a son of the late William and Fredericka Drake. He received his education at the district school and was married Dec. 7, 1896, to the former Anna Voigt of Kiel. The couple lived on the Drake home farm at Louis Corners, which they operated until their retirement in 1943 when they moved to Kiel. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Louis Corners, and a former elder of the church. The couple observed their 65th wedding anniversary in 1961. Mrs. Drake died in February of 1962. Surviving are two daughters, Miss Norma Drake, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Carl (Orvilla) Lenz, Louis Corners; three sons, Edwin of Kiel, Helmuth of R. 2, Elkhart Lake, and Richard, Milwaukee; nine granchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, Louis Corners. The Rev. Adalbert Schultz will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. MARIE DRASNER cemetery #34 From Der Nord Westen, 02 May 1907: Death in Town Kossuth on Friday of 42-year old Mrs. Joseph Drasner. The deceased, whose death was totally unexpected, is survived by her husband and several children.

OLIVE DRASNER Cemetery #26 (The following from the Manitowoc Herald Times Reporter, 1978) DRASNER Mrs. Olive Drasner, 82, formerly of Route 1, Whitelaw, died Friday evening at the home of a son and daughter-in-law in Minneapolis, Minn. Funeral services will be 9:45 a.m. Tuesday in Saur Funeral Home, and 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Kellnersville. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Alfred Schneider will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Drasner, nee Olive Ledvina, was born March 11, 1896, in Kellnersville, daughter of the late Lawrence and Catherine Rief Ledvina. She was married to Henry Drasner Oct. 26, 1927 in St. Joseph Church. He preceeded her in death April 13, 1965. She was a member of the Rosary Society at St. Joseph. In her early years, she was a piano instructor. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, a daughter and son-in-law. a sister, and four grandchildren. Six brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. Friends may call in Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday until time of services. A wake service will be conducted 7:30 Monday by Msgr. Schneider. The Rosary will be recited by the Rosary Society Monday at 8 p.m.

JOHN DREES cemetery #16 From Der Nord Westen, 30 Nov. 1905: Death Mon. of 82-yr. old John Drees at the home of his son Peter here, from old age debility. The deceased had formerly lived in Town Cooperstown where he operated a farm for 44 yrs. before retiring 4 yrs. ago to come live with his son here. He leaves a widow and several children. The body was taken to Cooperstown and buried there yesterday.

JOHN D. “JACK” DREGER cemetery #89D

John D. “Jack” Dreger, age 79, of Two Rivers, died peacefully Thursday night, Feb. 3, 2005 at the Manitowoc Health Care Center, with his loving family at his side. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Kay S. Richter, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the American Legion and the VFW Post of Two Rivers. Jack was born May 15, 1925 in Two Rivers, a son of the late Robert and Alma (Gesell) Dreger. He attended schools in Two Rivers, graduating from Washington High School with the class of 1943. John served with the United States Navy during WWII, from Oct. 5, 1943 until April 11, 1946. On April 9, 1949, he married the former Betty Bohm. She preceded him in death Dec. 14, 1977. For the past 25 years, Jack was blessed to have enjoyed the companionship of a very dear friend. Jack was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years, retiring as a rural carrier in 1980. He was a longtime member of Calvary Lutheran Church where he served as an usher, and council member, and was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where he also sang with the church choir. He was currently a member of the Two Rivers Senior Center; he was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling and playing cards. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, two daughters and sons-in-law, six grandchildren. He is further survived by a dear friend and companion, one James Dreger, one sister, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Dreger, and an infant granddaughter. Friends may call at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers from 5 until 8 p.m., Monday evening. The deceased resided on St. Clair Street here and was a resident of Manitowoc for the past 28 years. He leaves a widow and 4 children. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon.

HELMUTH DREWS cemetery #82 Helmuth Drews, 41 year-old former resident of this city, passed away at his home in the town of Newton, near Osman, last Wednesday afternoon following a lingering illness. Mr. Drews was born in Kiel on June 25, 1907, the son of Mr. and (deceased) Mrs. Frank Drews. On Jan. 22, 1938, he was married to Miss Hildegarde Ramminger of Crystal Lake. The couple made their home here for a few years and for some time near Manitowoc. For the past two years they have lived in the town of Newton. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, three sons; his father, Frank Drews, and his grandfather, Julius Drews of here. One son preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at two o’clock at the Meiselwitz Funeral home here, with the Rev. C. E. Stuebbe of Newton officiating. Burial was made in the Kiel cemetery.

MARTHA DREWS cemetery #82 Dies After Siege of Double Pneumonia Mrs. Frank Drews passed away at the St. Nicholas hospital in Sheboygan at about 11 o’clock this Wednesday morning, where she had been confined due to double pneumonia. The deceased, nee Martha Voigt was born in Germany on May 1, 1880, the daughter of Ferdinand Voigt and Mary Ladwig. At the age of three years she came to this country with her parents. On August 25, 1906 she was united in marriage with Frank Drews, and for the past 36 years have resided in this city. Survivors are her husband; one son, Helmuth; one sister, Mrs. Herman Drake of Louis Corners; two brothers, Bernard Voigt of Portland, Oregon, and Richard Voigt of Belgium, and 3 grand- children. Her father passed away in July, 1940; one brother, Ferdinand, died in December, 1939, and two sisters in infancy. Funeral services will be conducted at the Melselwitz Funeral Home at 1:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon, and at the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. E. L. Worthman officiating. Burial will be made in the Kiel cemetery.

STANISLAUS DROBKA cemetery #69 "Aged Pioneer Gone. Stanislaus Drobka Was Well Known in Early Days of City" "Stanislaus Drobka, one of the early pioneers of the county and a long time resident of this city died Sunday at his home at Newton and was buried there, today. Decedent was nearly 80 years of age and in Manitowoc's early history was an employe in the service of Vilas and Barnes, later becoming a workman in the Barnes, Mendlik, and Mulholland establishment, where he remained during a period of nearly thirty years. Being of an industrious and thrifty nature he saved enough of his earnings to buy a piece of property in Newton and conduct a farm there for a considerable length of time. He was one of the leading men in the community where he resided. Henry Mulholland is in attendance at the funeral." ALFRED DROST cemetery #43 From Der Nord Westen, 26 Jan. 1905: Alfred Drost died Mon. from consumption. The deceased had been ill with the disease for about 6 mos., … but it suddenly took a turn for the worst on Sat. On Mon. they wanted to take him to the hospital where he could be better cared for, but he died even as the transport was being arranged. Alfred Drost was born 08 Apr. 1860 in Wesel, Rhineland, and in 1875 came to America with his parents. The family settled in Manitowoc and it was here the deceased has always lived. As a result of a childhood disease he had completely lost his hearing. 22 yrs. ago, together with his father Henry Drost, he established a box factory here which under his direction, grew straight upward and is still operated by H. Drost & Sons. In addition to his sorrowing father, he leaves a brother and a sister. His mother died a few years ago. The funeral will be held this morning from St. Boniface Church.

CHRISTINA DROST cemetery #43 From Der Nord Westen, 17 July 1902: Death Tues., following a long illness, of 72-yr. old Mrs. Henry Drost in her residence at 1213 South Main St. The deceased, wife of Mr. Henry Drost, the well-known operator of the box and carton factory on 9th St., came to Manitowoc with her husband 27 yrs. ago and has lived here ever since. For many years she operated a successful cleaning shop on Jay St. and was well known and highly thought of in the city of Manitowoc and its environs. In addition to her sorrowing husband, she is survived by 2 sons and a daughter. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning from the Catholic Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church, the Rev. Paul Blaufuss officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Mrs. Drumm, nee Elizabeth Schmidt, was born in this city in 1881 and in 1901 was married to Mr. Drumm. He survives with three sons, Charles, Delmar and Roland of this city; daughter, Mrs. Arnold Albrecht of this city; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Flint, Mrs. Frank LaGesse, Mrs. Leo Brandt of this city, Mrs. Walter Behrens of Kohler; two brothers, Walter and Arthur Schmidt of this city; and seven grandchildren. The body may be viewed at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home after 7 p.m Wednesday and will be moved to the church a 10 a.m. Friday to lie in state until the hour of the services. ELIZABETH DRUMM (Mrs William Drumm) cemetery #44 FUNERAL WILL BE WEDNESDAY Mrs. William Drumm Dies At The Local Hospital Mrs. William Drumm, 64, Manitowoc Route 1, died at Holy Family hospital at 2 a.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home, the Rev. Koeninger of the German Lutheran church officiating. Burial in Evergreen cemetery. The deceased was born Elizabeth Wettencamp, in 1869 in Manitowoc Rapids. On January 21, 1893 she was married to William Drumm, who survives her. The couple have lived on their farm on Route 1, since their marriage. Besides her husband the deceased is survived by a daughter, Mrs. George Scherasky, Manitowoc Rapids; two sons Elmer and Walter of Manitowoc Rapids; four brothers, Frank of Manitowoc Rapids and George, James and Jesse of Manitowoc; a sister Mrs. Arthur Dow of Manitowoc and four grandchildren. FRANK J. DRUMM cemetery #44 Frank J. Drumm, 79, an alderman representing Manitowoc's Fifth Ward for 14 consecutive years before his retirement, died early Monday morning at Park Lawn Home, Sheboygan, following a heart attack. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Paul Blaufuss will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Drumm was born April 8, 1879, in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids, son of the late John and Henrietta Wetenkamp Drumm. He attended schools in Rapids and May 25, 1901, married the former Elizabeth Schmidt in Manitowoc. The couple took up residence in the city where Mr. Drumm became a carpenter- contractor until his retirement in 1944. During this time he served seven consecutive terms as alderman for the Fifth Ward. His wife died 13 years ago. He was a member of the Eagles and of the Odd Fellows. Surviving are two sons, Charles and Delmar of Manitowoc; a daughter, Mrs. Arnold Albrecht of Manitowoc; a brother, Hugo of Whittier, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Peter Goldmann of Chicago; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. FRIEDERIKE DRUMM cemetery #44 From Der Nord Westen, 10 Dec. 1885: A daughter of Mr. Drumm of Town Rapids, was recently sent to the mental ward in Oshkosh. On Tues., her body was returned here. GERALD ‘JERRY’ D. DRUMM cemetery #44 Gerald "Jerry" D. Drumm, age 78, of Manitowoc, died early Friday morning, May 26, 2006, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milawukee. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. The Revs. Robert Kujawski and Waldemar Loescher will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery with military graveside honors accorded by Otto Oas VFW Post #659. Jerry was born Oct. 23, 1927, in Manitowoc, son of the late Elmer and Mabel Raatz Drumm. He was a 1945 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. Jerry was enlisted into the United States Army Air Corps, serving from 1946 until 1947, stationed in Japan. On May 3, 1952, he was married to the former Elaine C. Kraemer at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at Haven. Jerry began farming and logging after high school, and in 1960 he started Jerry’s Sportsmans Lodge Tavern in Northeim. He also worked for the AH Stock company from 1962 until 1964 and worked at Silver Creek Nursery along with running his own custom crop spraying business. In 1980, he began working for the Manitowoc County Highway Department, retiring in 1993. Jerry loved to spend time at his Lakewood cottage, gardening, fishing, hunting and watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. He was a dedicated caretaker of the Richard Drumm Memorial Forest in the town of Gibson that was dedicated to the memory of his late brother. Jerry was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, current secretary of the Manitowoc Chapter #138 of the IWLA-Izaak Walton League of America of which he received the Judge Tobin award and the Rahr Diamond award for his conservation practices, charter member of the Manitowoc Gun Club, lifetime member of the Manitowoc Expo, Otto Oas VFW Post #659 of Manitowoc, National Rifle Association, Shoto Conservation Club, Conservation Education Inc., and current vice-president of Manitowoc Mortgage Holding. Survivors include his wife, his five children, their spouses and their children, step-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister: Marilyn Drumm; two brothers: Richard Drumm and William Drumm; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Louis and Hildegard Kraemer. Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc on Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services. JACOB (JOSEPH) DRUMM (1887 CITY AND COUNTY The funeral of Mr. Joseph Drumm an old and respected citizen of the town of Rapids, occurred last Friday afternoon. JACOB DRUMM (1909) From Der Nord Westen, 25 Mar. 1909: Last week we reported that Jacob Drumm had to go to a local hospital to have a toe amputated. Unfortunately the operation did not have the hoped for result and the patient, who suffered from sugar diabetes, died on Saturday. MARGARET E. DRUMM cemetery #32 Margaret E. Drumm, age 79, of Valders, died early Thursday morning, June 15, 2006, at her daughter’s residence in rural Valders. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church. Revs. Robert Kujawski and Stephen Melso will officiate with entombment to follow at the Knollwood Mausoleum, Highway 310, Manitowoc. The former Margaret Wopp was born June 16, 1926, in Milwaukee, daughter of the late William and Charlotte Puchalski Wopp. In 1945 Margaret worked for the federal government in Washington, D.C., at the Pentagon and later returned home to help her family in the family bakery, Bill’s Home Bakery in Valders. On Jan. 15, 1949, she was married to William E. Drumm at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. The couple farmed in the town of Manitowoc Rapids until their retirement in 1990. Bill preceded Margaret in death on Aug. 10, 2000. Margaret was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, and Ant Hill Motorcycle Club, and the Midwest Old Thrashers. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, going to old tractor and gas engine shows, she loved to bake for everybody and was an avid reader. Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, one daughter and son-in-law, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, three step-great- grandchildren,one brother and sister-in-law, two sisters, one sister-in-law, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by one brother: John Paul Wopp; and three brothers-in-law: Robert Price; Richard Drumm; and Gerald Drumm. MARIA DRUMM cemetery #44 Death called an aged resident of Manitowoc County this morning when the last summons was received by Mrs. Maria Drumm. Deceased resided on the Middle Road, about three miles southwest of the city and had been troubled with the diseases consequent to old age for some time. Saturday she had a bad fall and that was the immediate cause of her demise. The lady was born in Middlestadt, Wurtemburg, on September 22, 1822 and at the age of twenty- four came with her husband to America locating soon after in Manitowoc. Four sons and three daughters were born to the couple all of whom survive. Interment will occur Thursday afternoon. Krummel on Feb. 13, 1960 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Stangelville. He and his wife moved to Two Rivers in 1981. He was an avid Packer fan since the age of 15 and also enjoyed hunting. Ronald is survived by his wife, Sylvia, four brothers and three sisters- in-law, four sisters and three brothers-in-law, a special aunt, special friends. SOPHIE DUEBNER cemetery #73 Sheboygan Press: "Aged Pioneer Of Manitowoc Passes Away Wednesday" 24 Mar 1927 Mrs. Sophie Duebner, 92, a pioneer resident of Manitowoc, and mother of Mrs. Anna Voght, of this city, passed away at the home of her son, Christ Duebner, Route 5, Manitowoc county, at an early hour Wednesday morning. Her death occurred on the farm on which she had lived for seventy-seven years. Mrs. Duebner has seventy-four direct descendants, including four children, twenty-one grandchildren and forty-nine great grandchildren. The deceased was born in Germany on January 20, 1835 and at the age of fifteen came with her parents to America and directly to Manitowoc county. She was married seventy years ago to Christ Duebner, who preceded her in death. Besides the daughter in this city, and the son with whom Mrs. Duebner resided, the survivors include another daughter, Mrs. Lena Kaser, of Manitowoc, and another son, Carl, of Manitowoc. ALMA DUECKER cemetery #82 Mrs. Hubert Duecker Mrs. H. C. Duecker, 74, of 704 Sixth Street, Kiel, died Monday at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for five weeks. The former Alma A. Grunewald was born February 9, 1900 at Wausau, a daughter of the late Frank and Johanna Kroening Grunewald. She graduated from Wausau High School and the former Stevens Point Normal School. On October 20, 1927 she was married to Mr. Duecker at Wausau. The couple lived in Kiel most of their married lives. She was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Kiel, and its Women’s Guild, the Kiel Frauen Verein, GUG Germania Society and the Kiel Study Club. Survivors include her husband; a son of Milwaukee; three grandchildren and a sister of New Holstein. Funeral services were held Wednesday at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Kiel, the Reverend John F. Baumann, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Kiel Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Duecker’s name.

AUGUSTA DUECKER cemetery #82 Mrs. Augusta Duecker Dies At Home In Kiel On Monday Kiel, Wis – (Special.) – Mrs. Augusta Duecker, aged 77, widow of the late Charles Duecker, passed away at her home, 1641 N. Sixth street and Calumet Drive at Kiel, Monday afternoon at 2:20 o’clock after having suffered a stroke of apoplexy last Tuesday morning, from which she never fully revived. The deceased, who was before her marriage, Miss Augusta Stecker, a daughter of Joseph and Sophia Stecker, was born November 21, 1859, in the town of Schleswig. She was married to Charles F. Duecker of the town of New Holstein on June 13, 1879. The first year of their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Duecker resided at Brillion; residing on a farm in the town of Chilton for four years and lived on a farm in the town of New Holstein now owned by their son, Hermann, for twenty years. In 1904 the family moved to their present home on N Sixth street, and Calumet Drive, where Mr. Duecker passed away on March 4, 1914. Surviving her are her two sons, Herman of the town of New Holstein, near Kiel, and Arthur of this city, one granddaughter, Mrs. Harry Dawurske, and one brother, William Stecker of Sheboygan; a daughter, Hulda, passed away in infancy. Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the C. J. Meiselwitz Funeral home at Kiel, and at 2 o’clock at the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church. The Rev. E. L. Worthman will officiate, and burial will be made in the Kiel cemetery. The deceased, nee Augusta Stecker, a daughter of the late John and Sophie Stecker, was born in the town of Schleswig November 21, 1859, and on June 13, 1879 she was united in marriage with Charles F. Duecker of the town of New Holstein. Immediately upon their marriage they settled at Brillion, where they resided for one year; then they moved onto the farm now owned by their son Herman. Since 1904 she has made her home where she passed away. The deceased is survived by two sons, Herman, residing just northwest of this city on highway 57, and Arthur, owner of Duecker Oils, and one granddaughter, Mrs. Harry (Helga) Dawurske, and one brother, William Stecker of Sheboygan. EDWIN M. DUECKER cemetery #82 Prominent Kiel Man Passes Away Suddenly While Gardening May 24 Residents of Kiel were shocked early Sunday morning when word spread of the death of Edwin M. Duecker. The shocking news was hard to believe, as many local people had talked to him during the day and evening. After leaving the J. B. Laun office Mr. Duecker worked in his garden for recreation. After dark he failed to come into the home, so a search was made and he was found in the garden by Mrs. Melvin C. Timm, having suffered a sudden heart attack. The deceased was born in this city June 28, 1884, the son of Frederick and Adolphine Griebenow-Duecker. He attended the public schools here and for some time was employed at Racine. Later he attended a business college in Green Bay. For the past 30 years he has been a faithful employee at the J. B. Laun Co. here. He has been the assistant manager there for many years. On Feb. 10, 1916, he was married to Miss Emma Hauser of Melbourne, Iowa, and since their marriage they made their home in this city. Mr. Duecker was a member of the First Presbyterian church, the Kiel Chamber of Commerce, the Equitable Reserve association, and the Odd Fellows. Surviving him besides his wife, are three children, Mrs. Wilbur (Doris) Steiner of Knowles, James of Owen, and Mrs. Arthur (Hazel) Kahl of this city; one grandson; and sister, Miss Eleanor Duecker. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Meiselwitz Funeral home, with the Rev. B. J. Nelson of the First Presbyterian church officiating. EMILIE DUECKER cemetery #82 A GOOD WOMAN CALLED. Mrs. J. M. Duecker, nee Emilie Griebenow, died at her home on Sixth st. on Monday, April 7, of heart failure. She had been confined to her bed for about three weeks. Deceased was bornn Pommerania, Germany, Dec. 11, 1859, and came to this country with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred. Griebenow, in 1870. For one year they lived in Mliwaukee and then came to Kiel, where she has since lived. In 1877 she was united in marriage to J. M. Duecker. She leaves to mourn, her husband, two children; Mrs. Chr. Roeck of Kiel and Hugo C. Duecker of Algoma, three brothers, four sisters, and eight grandchildren. One son Walter died several years ago. Deceased was a woman who was highly respected in the community and her demise is mourned by a host of friends. Mrs. Duecker was a member of the Reformed church Frauenverein, who will attend the obsequies in a body. The funeral will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 p. m., from the home, Rev. W. GUSTAVE DUECKER cemetery #82 GUSTAVE DUECKER CLAIMED BY DEATH WHILE ASLEEP Death claimed Gustave Duecker, aged 88, a pioneer of this city almost his entire life, while he was asleep early Friday morning at the home of his son, Hubert C. Duecker. The deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Duecker, pioneer Calumet county residents. He was born Feb. 24, 1860, on the Duecker homestead farm in the town of New Holstein. June 5, 1889, he was married to Anna Griebenow, and then entered the hardware business in partnership with his brother, John M. Duecker here. The brothers operated the stole here for many years. Mr. Duëcker was a member of the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church, and was active in civic affairs for many years. He at one time served as president of the village of Kiel. Survivors are two sons, Werner of Pelham, N. Y., and Hubert C., of this city, and two grandsons, John of Pelbam and Daniel of this city. His wife preceded him in death Jan. 23, 1946; one daugther died in infancy, and six brothers also have passed away. HERMAN J. DUECKER cemetery #82 Community Shocked to Learn of Death of H. J. Duecker Herman J. Duecker, aged 69, a well-known Calumet county farmer, died suddenly Saturday noon at his home here. Mr. Duecker had gone to Milwaukee on Friday on business, and returning home Saturday morning began to feel as though he were catching a cold, so he stopped in at a local doctor’s office, explaining how he felt, and was given some pills to take. Upon arriving home he told Mrs. Duecker about his condition, and then slumped over. The deceased was born at Brillion, Dec. 4, 1879, the son of the late Charles and Augusta Duecker. The family moved to the homestead farm one mile north of this city in 1883, and Mr. Duecker attended the public schools here. On April 3, 1902, he was united in marriage with Johanan Feile of the town of Schleswig. The couple operated the homestead farm, property of the Duecker family for almost 100 years, until 1942, when they moved to Kiel. Mr. Duecker was active in herd and dairy improvement, having taken a short course in the subject at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and was a long-time member of the Guernsey Breeders’ association. He was a member of the Manitowoc county board of supervisors, a director of the State Bank of Kiel, a member of the Kiel Chamber of Commerce, and a former elder and member of thc Brotherhood of the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church. Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Harry (Helga) Dawurske, and a brother, Arthur K., all of this city. His parents and a sister preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at two o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church, with Rev. E. L. Worthman officiating. Burial was made in the Kiel cemetery. HUBERT C. DUECKER cemetery #82 Funeral services for Hubert C. (Pete) Duecker will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. Mr. Duecker, 78, former City of Kiel clerk, of 704 6th St., Kiel, died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack in his home Monday evening. The Rev. John F. Baumann, pastor of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Kiel, will officiate the funeral service. Cremation will follow services. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. today until the time of services. A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Duecker's name. He was born April 3, 1898, in Kiel, a son of Gustave and Anna Griebenow Duecker. He attended Kiel Public Schools and was graduated from Kiel High School in 1916 and was graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1922. Mr. Duecker was employed at Phoenix Hosiery in Milwaukee and later worked for ?ergens-Woodbury Co. In May 1946, he was appointed clerk of the city of Kiel. He retired in April of 1963. He was a veteran of World War I. Oct. 20, 1927, Mr. Duecker married Alma Grunewald in Wausau. Mrs. Duecker died May 13, 1974. He was a member of the Kiel Historical Society and a former director of the Kiel Savings and Loan. Mr. Duecker is survived by a son and three grandchildren. HUGO C. DUECKER cemetery #82 Hugo C. Duecker, aged 66, former well-known businessman of this city, and the son of the first white child born in Kiel 97 years ago, passed away suddenly in Milwaukee on Wednesday morning of last week at his Milwaukee home. He had been ill for some time. Hugo C. Duecker was born here December 17, 1878, the son of John M. Duecker and Emilie Griebenow. He was baptized by the Rev. Ludwig Zenk, and confirmed by the Rev. John Roeck. He attended the public school and is a graduate of the Kiel high school. For one year he attended the Mission House College. September 19, 1901 he was united in marriage with Clara Koehring. He was affiliated in the hardware business here with his father until 1919, when he moved his family to Algoma, and conducted a similar business. For the past 14 years the family has resided in Milwaukee, and up until the time of his death had been employed for the Koehring Company there. Mr. Duecker is an old musician; he stated playing with the Arion Band at the age of 12 years. Survivors are his wife; three sons, Willard of Milwaukee, and Howard and John with the armed forces stationed overseas; a sister, Mrs. Christ. Roeck; one grandson, Thomas. A brother, Walter, died February 10, 1919. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, where the body had arrived the preceding evening. Rev. E. L. Worthman conducted the services, and a quartette consisting of Melvin C. Timm, Alfred J. Thiessen, Roland A. Griebenow and Edgar Thiessen rendered several selections. Burial was not made until Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Pallbearers were William Ree, Herman Roehr, Edwin Fluhr, Frank Klaeser, Gustave Stoelting and F. A. Steinhardt. The body was held over pending the arrival of his son, John Duecker, who arrived Sunday afternoon after flying to New York from his overseas post, was grounded in Philadelphia, and had to take the train from there. JOHN M. DUECKER DEATH SUMMONS JOHN M. DUECKER Well-Known Former Business Man of Kiel Dies Monday Morning. John M. Duecker, a well-known former business man of Kiel, was called to his reward at 1:30 a. m., on Monday, at thc home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Chr. Roeck, after a few weeke illness with lagrippe. This disease affected his heart, ending in heart failure, which was the immediate cause of death. Thee news of Mr. Duecker’s unexpected demise was received with surprise and sincere regret by his many friends and acquaintances in Kiel and vicinity, as no one hearing of his illness a few days before thought that it might terminate fatally as Mr. Duecker had always enjoyed good health despite his advanced age of 72 years. John Martin Duecker was born October 16, 1852, and enjoyed the distinction of being the first white child born in Kiel. After he grew to manhood he went to Iowa, where he worked a few years as clerk in several stores. Returning to his home here, he worked as cheesemaker in his father’s factory, the first one established in this vicinity. Mr. Duecker was married in 1877 to Emilie Griebenow, and shortly afterward he formed a partnership with his cousin Fred. Duecker and established a hardware store on the corner of Fremont and Sixth streets. The latters interests were purchased in 1885 by his brother Gustave A. Duecker, and the business was conducted under the name of J. M. Duecker & Co. until 1910, when the J. M. Duecker Hardware Co. was incorporated, Mr. Duecker being elected president. He retired from active business when the company sold out to A. A. Paulsen in 1919. During his long business career in Kiel he had dealings with many people in this vicinity, and by unswerving honesty won and held their confidence and deep respect. He was a strong factor in the community life, taking part in all movements tending to improve local business and enhance the growth of the city. He filled a number of positions of trust and honor, serving as village president and trustee years ago. In 1923 he was elected city alderman of the second ward and served until he moved to the home of his son-in-law, Chr. Roeck last spring, after the death of his wife, which occurred in April of this year. He was also a director of the State Bank of Kiel. The survivors are two children, H. C. Duecker of Algoma and Mrs. Chr. Roeck of Kiel. A son, Walter, died in 1919. He also leaves two brothers Gustave and William, both of Kiel, and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock, at the home of C. A. Duecker, and burial will be made in the Kiel cemetery, Rev. W. Rech of the Reformed church officiating. MARY DUECKER cemetery #82 Mary Duecker, 104, of Kiel, died Sunday morning at Willowdale Nursing Home, New Holstein, where she had been a resident for the past seven years. The former Mary Roeck was born Feb. 1, 1881, in Buffalo, N.Y., a daughter of the late Rev. John and Anna Herman Roeck. She moved to Kiel as a young girl, and attended Kiel schools. On Dec. 31, 1903, she married Walter Duecker. He died in 1918. She was employed as a sales clerk in several Kiel stores, and later was a dry goods, children and women clothing buyer for Christel Department Store, Kiel. Mrs Duecker was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Kiel, and was a former member of the Frauen Verein. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Griebenow, of Kiel; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Mathilda Kazmeier, of Kiel. She was preceded in death by a son. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. The Rev. John Bauman, pastor of St. Peter UCC, will officiate. Burial will be in Kiel Cemetery. WALTER DUECKER cemetery #82 WALTER DUECKER IS NO MORE Wellknown Business Man of Kiel Answers Final Summons On Monday evening at eleven o’clock Walter Duecker passed away at his home, after a lingering illness of tuberculosis of the lungs. The deceased, a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Duecker, was born in Kiel, March 19th, 1881, and after completing the local school, he entered the employ of his father as plumber and tinner, having taken a course of instruction in plumbing, later becoming a partner in the business when the J. M. Duecker (? ) Co. was organized. He was united in marriage to Mary Roeck, Dec. 31, 1903. The union was blessed with one son and one daughter. About a year ago Mr. Duecker was compelled to give up his work on account of illness and since last July he was confined to his bed with pulmonary disease, his condition becoming gradually worse, until he finally succumbed. He leaves his wife, two children, his parents, one brother, one sister and other relatives, and many friends who mourn his death. He was a member of the fire department, the maennerchor, turners, E. F. U., Red Men and Beavers. The funeral will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at two o’clock, from the home, Rev. Rech officiating. Interment will be made in the Kiel cemetery. Feb. 13, 1919

The deceased had come here from Germany 52 yrs. ago. He worked for many years in the local shipyard as a machinist, then later took a position as a night watchman, a post he held until about 5 yrs. ago when he was forced to give it up because of advancing age. He leaves a widow and 8 children. The funeral was held Tues. afternoon at the city cemetery.

She was the wife of August Duenow, was 36 years old, and had been ill for a long time. She leaves her husband and five children, of which the eldest is 13 and the youngest 3, two boys and three girls. Burial took place yesterday afternoon with Pastor Craig delivering the funeral sermon.

CHRISTIAN DUERRWAECHTER cemetery #84 Called By Death. Christian Duerwaechter, a well known and old-time resident of Kiel, passed away at the home of his son Otto last Saturday, at the advanced age of 81 years, 5 months and 7 days. Death was due to the infirmities of old age. Decedent was born in Swabia, Germany, Sept. 21, 1838, and came to America in 1857 with his parents, who located at South Germantown. In 1860 Mr. Duerwaechter purchased a piece of land north of Kiel, and in 1863 he was united in marriage to Maria Mahlich, the couple making their home on the above land, which they transformed into a nice farm. His first wife died in 1880, leaving him with 11 children, the youngest being four weeks old. In 1881 he entered a second marriage with Magdalena Soemer; she preceded him in death after 25 years of wedded life in 1906, since when Mr. Duerwaechter has made his home in Kiel, with his son Otto. He had always enjoyed good health up to last New Year, when he began to fail and was since confined to the house. He is survived by 5 sons, 2 daughters, 22 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Also one brother, Philip, of South Gemantown, and one sister, Mrs. Philip Schilling, of Schleswig. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Ref. church; interment in the family lot in the Rockville cemetery. Rev. W. Rech officiated.

ERNEST P. DUERRWAECHTER cemetery #82 Ernst P. Duerrwaechter, 80, of Howards Grove, retired meat market operator and former treasurer of the town of Herman, died early this morning after an illness of several months. Mr. Duerrwaechter was born in the town of Schleswig, Manitowoc County, Dec. 22, 1876, a son of William and Mary Staats Duerraechter, and attended district school in that township. He was marrièd Sept. 10, 1903, to Miss Lydia Berg of the town, of Schleswig. A carpenter by trade, Mr. Duerrwaechter worked at that trade in Kiel after he was married, operated a farm in the town of Schleswig for a time, then moved to Sheboygàn and worked as a carpenter again until 1928. From 1928 to 1934 when he retired he operated a meat market at Howards Grove. He was a member of Faith Evangelical and Reformed Church, town of Sheboygan Falls, and for nine years served as treasurer of the town of Herman. (Survivors omitted for privacy) One son, Erwin, died in 1956, and a brother and two sisters also preceded Mr. Duerrwaechter in death. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Faith Evangelical and Reformed Church. The Rev. Daniel Schowalter, pastor, will conduct the services and burial will be in Kiel Cemetery. MARIA DUERRWAECHTER cemetery #84 Mrs. Mary Duerwaechter, nee Staats, aged 81 years, died of hardening of the arteries at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo Kuhn in the city on Friday evening. She had been ill since July. The deceased was born in the state of Pennsylvania on Feb. 26, 1845. When two years old she came to Germantown with her parents, where she lived up to the time of her marriage to Wm. Duerwaechter on June 5, on a farm one mile north of Kiel. Her husband died in 1909, and Mrs. Duerwaechter remained on the homestead with her son, Adolph, until a few weeks before her death, when she was taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kuhn. She is survived by two sons, Adolph, and Ernst of near Sheboygan, three daughters, Mrs. Herm. Vogel, Mrs. Ad. Jochmann, living near Kiel, and Mrs. Geo Kuhn, 12 grand- children and 3 great-grandchildren, 1 brother and 2 sisters. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, at 1:30 from the Kuhn residence and at 2 o’clock at the Reformed church, the Rev. Wm Rech officiating. Burial was made in the Rockville cemetery. - 1926

OTTO A. DUERRWAECHTER cemetery #82 Otto A. Duerwaechter(sic), 72, well-known painter and decorator of Kiel for the past 42 years, died this morning at the St. Nicholas hospital. A life-long resident of Kiel, he was born July 13, 1875, in the town of Schleswig, the son of Christian and Marie Mahlich Duerwaechter. On July 12, 1905, he was married to Louise Dessloch of the town of Rhine by the late Rev. William of Kiel. Survivors are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. George (Caroline) Davis of Madison and Mrs. Florence Greve of Kiel; a son Roy, of Kiel; five grandchildren; a brother, Ben, of Germantown. A son, Clifford, two sisters and five brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Duerwaechter was a member of the Kiel Redmen and a charter member of the Kiel Fire department which he served as treasurer for 20 years. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the St. Peter and St. Paul Evangelical and Reformed church of Kiel of which he was a life member and belonged to the Senior choir for many years. The Rev. E. L. Worthman will officiate and burial will be made in the Kiel cemetery. Lutheran Church, Two Rivers, where she attended St. John’s School and was confirmed. Before her marriage to Louis R. Dufano on September 23, 1922, she worked as an industrial nurse at the former Aluminum Goods Manufacturing Company. All of her life, she loved flowers and for many years she used these talents to beautify the altar Of St. John’s under the guidance and blessing of her good friend, Pastor Walter Haase. After her husband’s retirement, she spent many happy hours as a flower designer at Hansen the Florist. She and her husband enjoyed traveling. Their most cherished memories came after Louis was appointed as a consultant with the International Executive Service Corps. and they received two long term assignments to San Salvador and Medellin. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, two granddaughters and a grandson-in-law. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends especially from the Hamilton Home. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and seven sisters. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels and at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, Two Rivers, the Rev. George Beth officiating. Mr. Dufano, a World War I veteran, was born Oct. 27, 1896, at Oconto, son of the late Louis J. and Catherine Prucha Dufano. He attended Oconto public schools and shortly before World War I the family came to Two Rivers. He entered the Army in World War I and after his discharge he became an orchestra leader in the Iron River, Mich., area, where he married the former Doris Richards July 2, 1929. The same year they moved to Two Rivers where they resided since. He conducted his own orchestra more than 30 years in this area and was a drummer and xylophonist with both the Marine Band at Manitowoc and the former Hamilton Band at Two Rivers. During World War II he was employed at Manitowoc Ship Building Inc., and from 1944 until his retirement in 1961 he was employed at Gaterman Mfg. Co., Manitowoc. He had been a part-time employe at Consumers Steel Co., Manitowoc, where he took ill Monday. A member of the Robert E. Burns Post, the World War I Veterans, Barracks No. 2565, and St. Mark Holy Name Society, he was also affiliated with Owls of Two Rivers, Sea Gulls of Manitowoc, Squeeker Sip Club of Tisch Mills and was also an honorary member of the American Federation of Musicians, Local No. 95, AFL-CIO. Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, three sons, three sisters, three brothers, and 11 grandchildren. Anthony V. Dufek, age 83, of Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening, April 13, 2004, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2004 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Concelebrating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Ronald Reimer and the Rev. He was born April 5, 1921, in Manitowoc, son of the late Anton and Lillian Krcma Dufek. Tony was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, class of 1939. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from July 22, 1942 to March 15, 1946. He served as a 2nd lieutenant overseas in Europe, England, France, Belgium and Germany, receiving four bronze battle stars. On Dec. 27, 1943, he married the former Elaine E. Klackner at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1993. Tony was employed at Chicago & Northwestern Railroad from 1946 to 1973. He then became mayor for the city of Manitowoc from 1973 to 1989. He was a member of the Manitowoc School Board of Education from 1986 to 2001 and was past chairman and member of the Manitowoc County Board of Supervisors from 1966 to 1973 and from 1990 to 2004, serving as chairman from 1970 to 1973. Tony was author of the weekly Lakeshore Update, which was published in The Lakeshore Chronicle beginning in 1989. He also produced a radio show called Lakeshore Comments, which aired on WCUB for 30 years. He was also a member of the Manitowoc 4th degree Knights of Columbus, Elks BPOE #687, Eagles Aerie #706, VFW Otto Oas Post #659, American Legion Drews Bleser Post #88 and the AMVETS Post #99. Survivors include his wife: Elaine Dufek, Manitowoc; three sons and two daughters-in-law: two grandchildren: and a brother and sister-in-law. GEORGE DUSOLD cemetery #43 From Der Nord Westen, 14 Apr. 1904: George Dusold died Mon. noon. The death of the old gentleman occurred quite suddenly as he had been seen just a few days ago meandering about the streets of our city, but he fell ill with bronchitis on Fri. which quickly turned into pneumonia. He died on Mon. after lying unconscious with a fever for many hours. George Dusold was born 20 Jan. 1817 in Roschlaub, Bavaria. He came to America in 1845 and settled in Manitowoc Rapids, at that time our county seat. In 1846 he married Anna Wolf in Milwaukee and soon moved to Manitowoc where he has lived ever since. He established a guest house here on the south side when it was just a wilderness and contained only a half dozen residences. He also worked as a shoemaker which he had learned in Germany. He was naturalized in 1850 following his Declaration of Intent to become a citizen in 1846. His naturalization document is dated 07 Oct. 1850 and is signed by P.P. Smith, the then Court Clerk. His life partner died in 1897. There were 12 children and Mr. Dusold is survived by 9 of them, namely, Mrs. M. Pankratz here, Mrs. W. Schultz in Ozaukee County, and Mrs. P. Riederer, August, Alex, George, Lhelm, Edward and Oliver. The funeral will be held this morning from St. Boniface Church.

WALTER DUSOLD cemetery #44 From Der Nord Westen, 25 Aug. 1887: Death of Walter R. Dusold, three month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Dusold. Mr. Dusold was returning from an encampment at Beaver Dam where he served as a Lt. in Co. A, 2nd Regt., when the child fell suddenly ill and died on Sun. at noon.

HELEN DUVENECK cemetery #43 Helen M. Duveneck, age 88, formerly of 3819 Clover Rd., Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening, September 30, 1998, at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m., Saturday, October 3, 1998, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Northeim. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. David Beaudry, with entombment at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc. She was born July 20, 1910, in Newton, daughter of the late John and Antonia Murzyn Kadow. On July 20, 1926, she married Ulrich Duveneck at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Northeim. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 20, 1976. He preceded her in death June 28, 1987. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, two daughters and sons-in-law, 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, four great- great-grandchildren, and two sisters. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by four brothers, four sisters and a great granddaughter, Tracie Ann Nack. Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 5-8 p.m. Friday, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. by Deacon William Klein. The family extends a special thank you to Fr. Robert C. Duveneck, age 65, died early Friday morning, October 22, 1999, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, October 25, 1999, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, and 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Camillus Janas O.F.M., with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc. He was born September 21, 1934, in Manitowoc, son of the late Ulrich and Helen Kadow Duveneck. Bob attended Manitowoc Lincoln High School and then entered the United States Army where he received his G.E.D. On May 20, 1982, he married the former Luanne Rugowski in Manitowoc. Bob was employed as a police officer with the city of Manitowoc for 27 years, retiring with the rank of Sergeant in 1993. He was a life member of the Manitowoc Gun Club and a past member of the Ducks Unlimited. Survivors include his wife, four daughters and sons-in-law, one son and his special friend, six granchildren, one brother and sister-in-law, two sisters and brothers-in-law. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The children followed the mother in death. The deceased was only 19 yrs. of age. The funeral took place Sun. in Newton.

KATERINA DVORAK cemetery #63 From Der Nord Westen, 10 Oct. 1907: (From the correspondent in Mishicott, 08 Oct.) Death last Friday morning in her home here of Mrs. Jos. Dworak from stomach cancer. She had been ill for a year and death came as a release… She leaves her husband, 4 daughters and one son, all grown. Three of the daughters are married. The funeral was held Monday morning from the local Catholic Church with a large number of mourners.

ANNA (MARX) DYZBALYS cemetery #21 Mrs. John Dyzbalys, 56, passed away last Wednesday at the farm home, three miles northeast of School Hill, following a lingering illness. Mrs. Dyzbalys suffered a stroke in August, 1935, and had been confined to her bed since. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock from St. Gregory's Catholic church of St. Nazianz, with interment in the adjoining church cemetery. The deceased, nee Anna Marx, was born in Superior in 1879 and married Mr. Dyzbalys in 1898 at Sheboygan. They located on the homestead farm in Liberty. Following are the survivors: Her husband; three sons, John, Frank and Edward, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Peter Ahl of Meeme, and Mrs. Lena Bennett of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, Jacob Marx of St. Louis, Mo., and two grandchildren. JOHN DYZBALYS cemetery #21 John Dyzbalys, aged 71, was found dead in bed at his home near Pigeon Lake, in Liberty township, Manitowoc county, on Thursday morning of last week by members of his family. While not in the best of health for some time, his condition was not alarming, as he had spent Wednesday in the village of St. Nazianz, visiting with relatives. The deceased was born in Lithuania July 29, 1869, and came to this county in 1896, settling in Sheboygan, where he was employed by the Phoenix Chair Company. In 1898 he was married to Miss Anna Marx of St. Nazianz, and the couple then took over the Marx homestead farm, where he passed away. His wife preceded him in death in March, 1936, and a son Joseph, died in April, 1930. Survivors are three sons, John, Jr., Frank and Edward, all at home, one sister; four brothers, and three grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Gregory's church, St. Nazianz, with the Rev. Fintan Holzknecht officiating.
