LOIS D. DEDERING Find Bodies Of Couple In Parked Auto. Kiel (Special) - A young couple died early today in a car parked in a farm driveway off Highway 149, a half-mile west of here. The victims were identified as Miss Lois D. Dedering, 21, of 704 1st St., Kiel, and James Behnke, 21, of Reedsville. Leroy A. Hughes of Appleton, Calumet County coroner, said the deaths apparently were due to accidental carbon monoxide poisoning. He said he would not make a final ruling on the cause of death pending completion of a laboratory analysis later in the day. The bodies of the young people were found about 6:40 a.m. by Robert Nett of R. 2, Kiel, who investigated when the Behnke car blocked the driveway to the Alvin Nett farm home. He said the bodies were slumped over in the front seat of the car. The engine of the car still was running and the windows were closed. The coroner reported that the couple had been dead for "an hour or two" before the bodies were discovered. A physician who was summoned to the scene notified Calumet County Sheriff C.J. Kosmosky at 7:30. The sheriff ordered the Behnke car to be taken to a garage at Kiel for inspection to determine whether there were any mechanical defects in the car's exhaust system. Mrs. Alvin Nett first noticed the parked car in the driveway when she awakened at 6:10. Her son investigated a half hour later when he was unable to drive past the car on his way to work. Behnke's identity was not determined for several hours. Only identification in the car was a bowling ball on the back seat which bore his name.
