ANTON BUGLER cemetery #89D Sent in by a researcher/see contributors page. Feature Article Two Rivers Reporter, Two Rivers, WI, July 11, 1924 FARMER HANGS SELF ON WEDNESDAY MORNING Wednesday forenoon, Anton Bugler, a farmer living on the Mishicot road, hanged himself in the ice house on the property of the Two Rivers Fox Co. The body was discovered by the man's twelve year old son, who, with his cousin, a visitor, was seeking his father. Mr. Bugler came into the house during a shower and declared his intention of lying down in the barn. It was suggested that he remain in the house but he persisted, and the last that was seen of him, he took his coat and left the house. This was during the forenoon. Dinner time came, and when Mr. Bugler did not return, a search was begun. It was thought that he might have lain down in the barn and fallen asleep. Accordingly, the barn was scoured thoroughly. This search proving unavailing, Mrs. Bugler sent her twelve year old son, and a little girl, his cousin, to look for her husband about the fox enclosures. Mr. Bugler was employed taking care of the animals, but as it was not feeding time, little belief was entertained that he might actually be there. The two children entered the ice house at 2:30 p.m. in the course of their search and were confronted by the sight of the man, hanging from the beams, and by that time quite dead. A physician was summoned, and he, with the help of men who arrived soon, removed the body. Mr. Bugler was in good health physically, but was of a highly nervous temperament and was much given to worry. He resided in Two Rivers for some time, but then returned to the farm which occupation he had left to go to town. He wished to sell his farm, and had but recently declared his intention of so doing. Deceased was born at the old home on the Tannery Road and lived in this vicinity all his life. He was 52 years of age. He is survived by his widow, and by three sons, Edward, 29 years of age, Anton, 27 years of age, and Albert, age 12. Besides these he leaves three brothers, Charles and John Bugler of this vicinity, and Joseph of Warner, Alberta, Canada. There are also five sisters surviving. Funeral arrangements have not been made.
