
RAYMOND F. NAGEL Raymond F. Nagel, age 90, formerly of 929 Third Street, named Kiel(sic), passed away on Wednesday afternoon, November 22, at Willowdale Nursing Home, New Holstein, where he was a resident for one week. He was born March 11, 1899, at Sheboygan, son of the late Udo and Hertha Trautmann Nagel. He graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1917. He then attended school in Madison where he took a short course in agriculture, graduating in 1922. On March 8, 1924, he married Emma Wegner at St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church, Schwarzwald. After college, he worked for a number of years in Door County as an agricultural business man and at Kohler Company. The couple then farmed in the Town of Herman until retiring in 1963 and moving to Kiel. His wife died in 1981. He was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Kiel, Church’s Senior Social and Kiel Seniors Citizens. He was also on the board of directors of Modern Dairy Co-op of Sheboygan. Survivors include two daughters (private); six grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; and one sister, Marion (Barton) Knoll of Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by one grandson and a brother. No newspaper, November 22, 1989 DANIEL NAUTH (d. 1999) Daniel G. Nauth, 85, of Route 1, Elkhart Lake, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 29, 1999 at his home. He was born Feb. 23, 1914 in the town of Rhine, son of the late Peter and Mathilda Pingel Nauth. He attended Rhine Center Grade School. On Jan. 8, 1938, he married Lenore Kriese. The couple farmed all their married lives in the town of Rhine. His wife preceded him in death on Aug. 10, 1997. Daniel was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Kiel. DANIEL NAUTH, M.D. Dr. Nauth, 90, Kiel Physician, Dies Kiel - Funeral services will be held Thursday for Dr. Daniel F. Nauth, a physician and surgeon here the past 62 years. He was 90. Dr. Nauth, who resided at 501 River Terrace, died Tuesday afternoon at Maple Crest Sanatorium and Hospital, Whitelaw. He practiced medicine in Kiel from 1907 until his hospitization 11 days ago. Services will be held at 3 p.m. at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, with the Rev. John F. Baumann, pastor of St. Peter United Church of Christ, offici- ating. Masonic rites will be conducted at the grave in the Kiel Cemetery. Dr. Nauth was born on March 30, 1879 on a farm about one mile north of Rhine Center, a son of the late George and Phoebe Lite Nauth. He taught school in the Town of Rhine following his graduation from the Plymouth High School to earn money for his medical education. He enrolled at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. in 1899, received his doctor's degree in 1906 and served as an assistant at the Rockford, Ill. City Hospital for a year before starting his practice at Kiel. Dr. Nauth founded Citizens State Bank of Kiel in 1914, serving as its president until a year ago when he became chairman of the board. He also was a director and vice president of the A.A. Laun Furniture Co. He was a member of the Sheboygan County Medical Society and the Medical Society of Wisconsin. He also was a member of F & AM Lodge 336, Kiel; a 32nd Degree Mason; the Tripoli Shrine, Milwaukee, and the Scottish Rite. He was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Kiel, and a charter member of the Kiel Chamber of Commerce. The chamber honored Dr. Nauth at a testimonial dinner in 1958 for his service to the community, and the Kiel Kiwanis Club selected him "Man of the Year" in 1964. Dr. Nauth married the former Lola May Harvey at Rockford, Ill., on Sept. 23, 1907. She died Oct. 3, 1955. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Lois) Weidenfeller of Milwaukee; two grandchildren, and two brothers, George of Kiel and Louis of Peoria, Ill. EMMA NAUTH Miss Emma Nauth, 85, of Kiel, died early today at Good Shepherd Nursing Home here. She had been a resident there for about two years. A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Nauth, she was born in the Town of Rhine, May 13, 1877, moving to Kiel with her parents in 1912. She lived with her parents until the death of her mother in February, 1961. Shortly there- after she came to the local nursing home. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Alvin Kuhn, Milwaukee and three brothers, Dr. D.F. Nauth, Kiel, George, R. 2, Kiel, and Louis, Peoria, Ill. A brother, Peter, also preceded her in death. GEORGE NAUTH (d. 1924) Death claimed George Nauth, 74, at his home in this city on Friday evening at 7 o'clock, after a lingering illness with cholocystitis. Decedent was born in New York City, November 4, 1849. He came to Wisconsin at the age of six years with his parents, who settled in the town of Rhine, Sheboygan county, on the place now known as the Chas. Richter farm. He helped his father clear the land and transform it into a fine farm. The first schoolhouse in that section was built on land donated by Mr. Nauth's father. In 1875 he was married to Phoebe Lite, and the couple settled on the Rummel farm in the town of Rhine, which Mr. Nauth had purchased and which is now owned by his son Peter. Mr. Nauth's first wife died in 1891 and in 1893 he was married for the second time to Katherine Adam, who survives hm. In 1901 he bought the John Stephan farm, also in the town of Rhine, which he disposed of in 1912 to his son George Jr., and came to Kiel, where he has since lived in retirement. The deceased was a man of industrious, thrifty habits. He was anxious to get on in the world and succeeded in his ambition. He was a devoted husband and one of the best fathers, working untiringly in the interest of his family and was rewarded by seeing them all progress in life. Generous hearted and accommodating, he was an ideal neighbor and friend, one who will be missed by his family and also in the community of which he was a part. Besides his widow he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Alvin Kuhn of Milwaukee and Miss Emma Nauth at home; four sons, Dr. D. F. Nauth and Louis Nauth of Kiel, Peter and Geo. Nauth Jr. of Rhine; one brother, Daniel Nauth of Colorado; and two sisters, Mrs. Carl Hecker of Plymouth and Mrs. Carl Schueler of Elkhart Lake. Funeral services took place on Monday afternoon, from the late home, Rev. Zeh of Elkhart Lake officiating. GEORGE G. NAUTH (d. 1974) George G. Nauth, 89, of R. 2, Kiel, a retired Town of Rhine farmer, died Friday night at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient the past month. He was born July 21, 1885 in the Town of Rhine, son of the late George and Phoebe Lite Nauth. He attended district school in the township. On Nov. 9, 1912, he married Mary Spindler at Bethel United Church of Christ in the Town of Herman. The couple farmed in Rhine until 1944 when they moved to Kiel. They have lived at their present home since 1958. They observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1962. Mrs. Nauth died Sept. 18, 1968. Mr. Nauth was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Kiel. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William (Georgine) Pfeiffer of New Holstein; two sons, Howard of Brookfield and Eugene of Kohler; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and a brother, Louis of Peoria, Ill. KATHERINE NAUTH Mrs. George Nauth, Sr., 93, of 1118 Sixth St., Kiel, died at her home Friday night. The former Katherine Adams, she was born in Hessen, Darmstadt, Germany, Nov 17, 1868, a daughter of Jacob and Katherine Becker Adams. When a child of 12 she was brought to America by her parents, who settled in the Town of Rhine. Her marriage to Mr. Nauth took place Jan. 25, 1892, following which the couple farmed in Rhine until moving to Kiel in 1913. Mr. Nauth died in 1924. Surviving are three sons, Dr. Daniel, Kiel, George, R. 2, Kiel, and Louis, Peoria, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Frieda) Kuhn, Milwaukee, and Miss Emma, at home; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. LENORE NAUTH Lenore Nauth, 79, of Elkhart Lake, died unexpectedly Sunday, Aug. 10, 1997 at her home. She is the former Lenore Kriese, born July 11, 1918 in Sheboygan, daughter of the late Gustave and Hatie (Zube) Kriese. On Jan. 8, 1938 she married Daniel Nauth in Sheboygan. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kiel. Survivors include her husband of nearly 60 years; three children (private); six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy and Harold Kriese. Funeral services were held at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home in Kiel with the Rev. Marcia Thomas, pastor, officiating. LOLA NAUTH Mrs. D. F. Nauth Dies at Hospital Monday; Rites Today Mrs. Daniel F. Nauth, 72, died at Memorial hospital in Sheboygan about 7:00 a. m. Monday. She had been hospitalized for about a week. Her death was attributed to a heart attack. Funeral services for Mrs. Nauth will be held this Thursday afternoon, from St. Peter’s Evangelical and Reformed church, with Dr. E. L. Worthman in charge. Burial will be made in the Kiel cemetery. Mrs. Nauth was one of the city’s foremost leaders in civic affairs over the past 20 years. She was very active in American Legion auxiliary circles. Mrs. Nauth, the former Lola Harvey, was born May 4, 1883, at Toulona, Illinois, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Harvey. She was graduated from Rockford, Illinois, high school, and Rockford college, and received her nurses’ training at City hospital, Rockford, Illinois. She was married to Dr. Nauth September 23, 1907, and the couple located at Kiel. Was State President A charter member of the auxiliary of the Kasper-Bechle-Wilkens Post No. 99 of Kiel, American Legion, Mrs. Nauth served as its president and past president and also was president of the auxiliary district and the Wisconsin Legion auxiliary. Following her election to that office August 19, 1931, Mrs. Nauth was given a public reception by the citizens of Kiel. She later was national executive committee woman in the auxiliary and represented Wisconsin at national meeting. Early in 1933 Mrs. Nauth was one of nine state women appointed delegates from the American Legion auxiliary to the women’s patriotic conference on national defense at Washington, D.C. Mrs. Nauth was a member and past president of the Daughters of the American Revolution, having three ancestors in the Revolutionary War. She served 15 years as president of the Kiel Municipal Band, which she was instrumental in reorganizing. Other organizations of which she was a member and past president include the Kiel Frauenverein, Dorcas society, and Study club. She served on the Kiel School Board and also was president. Mrs. Nauth was a member of the Women’s Guild of the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church, and the Kiel Garden club. Active for Red Cross Mrs. Nauth directed Red Cross activities in Kiel during World War I and was county chairman of the thrift stamp drives as well as Sixth District committeewoman. Surviving in addition to the husband are a daughter, Mrs. Donald Widenfeller, Whitefish Bay; a brother, Guy Harvey, Corvallis, Oregon, and two grandchildren. A brother and sister preceded her in death. He was born March 6, 1882, in the town of Rhine a son of the late George and Phoebe Lite Nauth. He attended the township school and was married to Mathilda Pingel of the town of Rhine on January 14, 1911. The couple resided in that township. Survivors include his wife; one son, Daniel, on the home farm; two daughters, Mrs. Marvin Sonnenberg, R. 3, Manitowoc, and Mrs. Lester Hennings, R. 1 Elkhart Lake; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild, his stepmother, Mrs. Catherine Nauth, Kiel; three brothers, Dr. D. MATHILDA STRASSMAN NEISENS Mrs. John Neisens, 75 Mrs. John Neisens, aged 75, a resident of Stanley, died at her home there Friday night of last week, according to word received here by relatives. The deceased was the former Miss Mathilda Mueller and was born in Sheboygan. Following her marriage to William Strassmann of the town of Schleswig, the couple resided in that township for several years, and later moved to Stanley. Mr. Strassmann preceded her in death about 15 years ago. Later she was married to John Neisens at Stanley and he died several years ago. The corpse arrived in this city on Monday afternoon for burial. Services were conducted at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Harold O. Grunwald officiating. Burial was made in the Kiel cemetery alongside her first husband. ANKER A. NELSON Anker A. Nelson, 63, of Manitowoc, a former resident of Kiel, died early today in Manitowoc Memorial Hospital. He was born May 18, 1908, near Valders, son of the late Nels and Belle Matson Nelson. He attended Valders area schools and Lincoln High School in Manitowoc. On April 21, 1934, he married Helen Reinertson of Valders in Our Savior Lutheran Church there. The couple farmed east of Valders and later lived in St. Nazianz for eight years, before moving to Kiel in 1949. He was employed at the Manitowoc Shipyards and later at Stoelting Bros., Co. in Kiel. Following the death of his wife in November, 1961, he moved to Los Angeles where he lived for five years, and then returned and lived with his daughter and family. He has resided in Manitowoc for the past year. Mr. Nelson was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel. AGNES NEUMANN Rites Held Monday For Mrs. A. Neumann One of the oldest residents of Kiel died at her home Saturday. She was Mrs. Agnes Neumann, 89. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Meiselwitz Funeral home, with the Rev. E. L. Worthman in charge. She was born in Kaltwasser, Germany, February 6, 1864, and came to Kiel with her parents while still a child. In 1884 she was married to August F. Neumann, pioneer carpenter and contractor in Kiel. She was a charter member of the Kiel Frauenverein which was founded in 1900. She was also a member of the Chilton chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Helmuth Arps of Chilton; one son, Hugo Neumann of this city; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Keppler of Wild Rose, Mrs. Helen Krueger of Sheboygan. AUGUST F. NEUMANN August F. Neumann, aged 81, well-known retired carpenter-contractor, passed away at his home at 1035 North 6th Street on Thursday night at 9:30 o’clock, after a lingering illness. The deceased was born in Germany, May 8, 1858. At the age of 15 years he learned the carpenter’s trade in Berlin and then went from city to city working at his trade. He arrived in New York in 1879, and after working on a farm there he came to Sheboygan County in 1892. He was employed by the late Frederick Griebenow for six years and was a carpenter contractor for 45 years until his retirement in 1932, when he turned over the business to his son, Hugo. He constructed many residences and other buildings in this city, New Holstein, and nearby communities. He was married to Miss Agnes Jochmann, also a native of Germany, on February 14, 1884, near Steinthal, in the town of Schleswig, by the late Rev. Ludwig Zenk. The family resided for 2 years in the Kretsch building, for 20 years in the Vollstedt building, for 25 years at the corner of 7th and St. Paul Streets, the home now owned by his son, Hugo, and nine years ago he erected the present residence. Mr. Neumann was a charter member of the Kiel Maennerchor, organized in 1885, and also of the Kiel Fire Department. Survivors are his wife; two sons, Walter F. Neumann, an architect living in Nashotah, and Hugo of this city; one daughter, Mrs. H. F. (Elsie) Arps of Chilton; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Fritsche of Milwaukee. One daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Elda) Howels, died in 1925. On February 14, 1934, the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Sunday at the family residence, with burial in the city cemetery. The Rev. FREDA M. NEUMANN Freda Neumann, 92, formerly of Kiel, died Thursday, March 17, 1994 at Willowdale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein. She resided there for the past five years. She is the former Freda Meili, born May 22, 1901 in Switzerland, a daughter of the late Otto and Emma Wismer Meili. She came to the United States with her parents in 1905, settling in New Holstein. She was a graduate of New Holstein High School and Milwaukee Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing. On Aug. 25, 1923 she married Hugo Neumann in New Holstein. Her husband Hugo preceded her in death on May 20, 1968. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Kiel, the Kiel American Legion Auxiliary/Kasper-Beckley-Wilkens Unit 99, a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star #281 in Kiel, and the Kiel Historical Society. Survivors include one son (private); one granddaughter (private); one grandson, (private); two great grandchildren, (private). RICHARD H. NEUMANN Three Dead in Crossing Crash at Kiel Chippewa Hits Automobile at Intersection Residents of Kiel and New Holstein are Victims of Accident – Others Injured Kiel – Three young people were killed and one other injured seriously Sunday afternoon at 3:45 o’clock when the automobile in which they were riding was struck by the Chippewa, crack Milwaukee Road train. The accident occurred on Fremont street, the main street of Kiel, and the train was traveling at a rapid pace at the time, as it does not stop at Kiel. The dead are Richard Neumann, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Neumann of 704 St. Paul street, Kiel; Virginia Klapperich, 19, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klapperich of New Holstein, and Miles Moths, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Moths of Kiel. Moths was the driver of the car. Both Richard Neumann and Virginia Klapperich were killed instantly, and Miles Moths died at 11:50 p.m. Sunday at the St. Nicholas hospital, Sheboygan. Critically Hurt Critically injured is Betty Jane Schwantes, 19, of New Holstein, who suffered a fractured skull. Miss Schwantes was unconscious throughout the night. Three others in the car, less seriously hurt, were Elmer Buchmann, Delhart Freis and Jerome Wilkens, 19, all of Kiel. The five injured persons were taken to the St. Nicholas hospital in Sheboygan. The body of Miss Klapperich was taken to the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral home at New Holstein and the body of Richard Neumann was taken to the Meiselwitz Funeral home at Kiel. Other Injuries The Freis boy sustained cuts about the face; Wilkens suffered cuts, bruises and shock and Buchmann also sustained cuts and bruises. The car was a complete wreck. Richard H. Neumann, who would have been 18 years old next Sunday, Feb. 13, is the son of Hugo and Frieda Meile Neumann. He was born in New Holstein on Feb. 13, 1926, and attended the public schools at Kiel and graduated from the Kiel High school last spring. He was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian church of Kiel. Richard enlisted in the Army Air Corps Reserve on Aug. 9, 1943, and would have been inducted next March 1. Survivors are his parents; a brother, Donald; his grandmothers, Mrs. Agnes Neumann and Mrs. Emma Meile of Kiel. The tragedy occurred on the 80th birthday of his grandmother, Mrs. Agnes Neumann. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Meiselwitz Funeral home and at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian church. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 4 p.m., Tuesday. Virginia Klapperich, 19, was born Jan. 31, 1925, in New Holstein, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klapperich, and graduated last Spring from the New Holstein High school. She has since been employed at the Leverenz Shoe Co. at New Holstein. Rites Thursday She was an only child and survivors are her parents and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Simon Boehlein of New Holstein. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral home and at 9:30 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic church, the Rev. Alfred Pritzl officiating. Miles William Moths, 18, son of Oliver and Clara Yahr Moths, was born Feb. 28, 1925, at Silver Creek, town Sherman, Sheboygan county. He attended the Harrison school in town Rhine and later attended the Kiel schools, graduating from the Kiel High school in 1942. He took an aircraft engine course in Racine and was employed at the Freis Feed and Elevator Co., at Kiel. Survivors are the parents; a sister, Mae, and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Yahr, Sr., of Waubeka. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Meiselwitz Funeral home at Kiel, and at 2 p.m. at the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church, the Rev. E. L. Worthman officiating. ALMA NINMER Funeral services for Mrs. Herman Ninmer, who died early Monday morning at the St. Nicholas hospital, were held Wednesday at the St. Peter’s Evangelical and Reformed church with the Rev. Vernon E. Jaberg officiating. The burial was in the Kiel cemetery. Born December 30, 1884, in the Town of Schleswig, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Gensch, received her education in the district school and was married to Herman Ninmer of Schleswig, December 19, 1922. She was a member of the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church in Kiel and also the Women’s Guild of the church. Survivors are one sister, Mrs. George Kreimann of rural Kiel and nine nieces and nephews. Her husband died in May, 1950. Three brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death. HERMAN NINMER Funeral services for Herman A. Ninmer, 69, where held from the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Ninmer died at his home early Thursday morning after a lingering illness. Born August 13, 1880, in the town of Schleswig, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ninmer, he was married to Miss Alma Gensch of Town Schleswig on December 19, 1922. The couple made their home in Kiel since 1923. Mr. Ninmer was employed as a mason contractor for many years, and prior to his retirement in 1946, was an employee of the Stoelting Brothers Co. FRIEDA NOTTKE Funeral services for Mrs. Paul Nottke, 59, were held at St. Peter’s Evangelical and Reformed church, with burial in the Kiel cemetery. The former Frieda Schultz was born March 1, 1896, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emil Schultz, Sr. She was educated in the Kiel public schools and was married to Paul Nottke June 24, 1922. She had been employed by the Hansen Glove company of Kiel since it located in this city. Mrs. Nottke was a member of the General Arts Homemakers club and the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church. Survivors include her husband; five sisters, Mrs. Albert Wagner and Mrs. Henry Gebhardt, Kiel; Mrs. Otto Strade and Mrs. Reinhold Horst, Millhome, and Mrs. Louise Bauman, Mobile, Alabama; and four brothers, Ferdinand, Sheboygan Falls, Emil of Kiel, Oscar of Glenbeulah, and Richard of Sheboygan. HENRY NOTTKE From Der Nord Westen, 05 Apr. 1906: Death in Kiel on 23 March of Heinrich Nottke, after having undergone a hernia operation on Tuesday. The deceased first saw the light of day in Soggov, Kreis Stolp, lower Pomerania, Germany, on 09 December 1853. He married Johanna Kanzke in 1878, and in 1893 came to America and immediately went to Kiel where he has lived ever since. The marriage produced 12 children of whom 2 still live.
JOHANNA NOTTKE Called By Death After an illness of a few months of diabetes, Mrs. Johanna Nottke died at her home on Third street, Sunday afternoon. Hanna Kanske was born in Germany, March 6, 1856, and 1878 was married to Henry Nottke. Twelve children were born to them of whom eight died in Germany. In 1893 they came to America, directly to Kiel. Here two other children died in early childhood. Mr. Nottke died thirteen years ago. She is survived by one daughter Marie, who is employed in the office of the Record: and one son Paul, employed at the Kiel Mercantile Association; two sisters, Mrs. A. Timreck of Kiel, and Mrs. Henrietta Graeber of New York; and two brothers, August and Werner Kanske of Kiel. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, Rev. PAUL H. NOTTKE Paul H. Nottke, 77, of 511 North St., Kiel, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday. He was a retired machinist with Kiel Wooden Ware Co. The son of the late Henry and Johanna Kanske Nottke was born on April 24, 1893 in Germany. He and his parents emigrated to the U.S. when he was a youth, and the family settled in Kiel. On June 24, 1922 he married Frieda Schultz of Kiel, where the couple lived until her death on Sept. 16, 1955. Only immediate survivor is a sister, Mrs. Frederick Fruchner of Milwaukee. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Melselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, the Rev. Newton Barrett, associate pastor of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Kiel, officiating. KATIE OELHOFF Death Comes at Age of 68; Lived With Son The victim of peritonitis, Mrs. Katie Oelhoff, 68, died at the home of her son William at 853-34th street at Milwaukee at 3 p.m. April 1. News of the death was telephoned to the Record several hours later by Mr. Oelhoff from Milwaukee. Funeral services will be held at Milwaukee and also at Kiel, where burial will be made. Complete arrangements had not been made when Mr. Oelhoff telephoned, but he thought that burial would probably be made on Friday here. The deceased, nee Lawrence, was born May 3, 1862 at Hayton. She was married June 2, 1880, the couple making their home in Kiel. Her husband preceded her in death May 25, 1917. Two children were born to the couple - a son, William, and a daughter, Miss Eleanor, who are residing in Milwaukee, and with whom she had made her home for the past ten years. A grandson, Howard, also survives. Her passing is also mourned by two sisters, Mrs. Anna Krackenberger of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Emma Hart of Seattle, Wash., and two brothers, Warren Lawrence of Collins and Seldon Lawrence until recently of Kiel, and a half brother, Will Evers, who resides at Dorchester.
ALBERT H. OEMICHEN Following several heart strokes the past week Albert Oemichen, aged 66, passed away at his home here on Sunday at 1:30 a.m. Mr. Oehmichen had been in ailing health for several years. The deceased was born on a farm in the town of Meeme, November 6, 1869, the son of the late Adolph and Christina Oemichen. On April 2, 1891 he was married to Miss Sarah Dudley of Antigo, where they resided three years. For five years they resided in the town of Meeme, six years on a farm in Millhome, and for the past twenty-two years have been residents of this city. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Oemichen, of whom two have passed away in infancy, and a daughter, Mrs. Lydia Ninmer passed away on August 20th, 1922. Survivors are: His widow; two daughters, Mrs. George (Edna) Pfingsten of Cashton, and Mrs. Alvin (Olive) Fritzemeier of Milwaukee; 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Edwin Langenhahn of the town of Meeme, and one brother, Reinhold Oemichen of Manitowoc. SARAH OEMICHEN Former Kiel Resident Dies at Cashton Tuesday Mrs. Sara Oemichen, 83, former Kiel resident, died Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edna Pfingsten at Cashton. She was the former Sara Dudley, born March 15, 1871. Her marriage to Albeit Oemichen took place in the town of Meeme. In 1918 the couple moved to Kiel where Mr. Oemichen died in October 1936. For the past three years she has been living with her daughter. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Edna Pfingsten, Cashton, and Mrs. Olive Fritzemeier, Phoenix, Arizona; 10 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Walter Ninmer died in August, 1922, and their daughter June (Mrs. Arno Platz) made her home with Mrs. Oemichen. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:30 o'clock at the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church, with the Rev. E.L. Worthman officiating. Burial will be made in the Kiel cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 p.m. Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday when the body will be taken to the church.

Mr. Oesau had reached the age of 69. Mr. Oesau had suffered a stroke of apoplexy on Saturday, October 8th. He was born on a farm east of New Holstein on April 10th, 1863, and farming has been his occupation all his life. Mr. Oesau was married to Kathryn Reichert of Marshfield, who passed away July 4, 1925. He is survived by one daughter, Clara of this city, one brother, Arthur of Manitowoc, and three sisters Mrs. Fred Borck and Mrs. Margaret Laurent of Thorp, and Mrs. Theodore Oesau. Funeral services took place at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Meiselwitz Undertaking Parlor, and burial was made in the Kiel cemetery, with Emil Meinardus officiating. The pallbearers were: John Boege, Carl Wittrock, Henry Burkhardt, Albert Maurer, William Buchholz and Rudolph Feile. Mr. Oesau was a charter member of the New Holstein Turnverein. GRACE K. OLM Grace K. Olm, 77, of 837 Eighth St., Kiel, died Friday afternoon, May 26, 2000 at Calumet Medical Center, Chilton. She is the former Grace Karsteadt, born April 30, 1923 in the town of Newton, a daughter of the late Edward and Lydia Heckman Karstaedt. On Nov. 1, 1941, she married LeRoy Olm at St. James United Church of Christ, Spring Valley. He preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 1987. Grace was employed at C. J. Meiselwitz Funiture Store in the gift shop for many years. She was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Kiel and the Womens Guild. Grace was a very active member of her church. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2000 at St. Peter United Church of Christ in Kiel with the Rev. Raymond C. Coombs officiating. Burial will be in Kiel City Cemetery. EARL A. OTTO Earl A. Otto, 69, of 105 2nd Ave. St. Nazianz died peacefully Friday afternoon January 19, 2007 at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 21, 1937 in DePere son of the late Alfred and Wilma (Kuchenbecker) Otto. Earl attended Reedsville High School. He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1957 until 1959. Earl was married to the former Kathleen Polster. On April 30, 2005 he married Lola Greunke at St. Peter's UCC in Kiel. Earl was an auctioneer, a real estate broker and appraiser since 1962. He owned and operated Earl A. Otto Realty and Auction Service. Currently Earl and his wife Lola own and operate the Tom Cat Lounge in St. Nazianz. He was a member of St. Peter's UCC in Kiel where he served on the consistory. Earl was very active in the St. Nazianz community, he was past President of the St. Nazianz Lions Club, a Past President of the Calumet County Board of Realtors. Earl donated his auctioneering services for many organizations including, the Kiel Fish and Game, Roncalli High School, Between the Lakes Ducks Unlimited and the Manitowoc Fish and Game. He enjoyed playing sheepshead, shaking dice at the Tom Cat, driving through the countryside, and was an avid Packers fan. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday January 23, 2007 at St. Peter's UCC, 424 Fremont St. Kiel with Rev. Judine Duerwaechter and Rev. David Mercer officiating.
