
EVELYN ALLEN Mrs. Harold Allen, 57, of Tisch Mills, died unexpectedly at her home Thursday evening. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, the Rev. Charles Freuden officiating. Burial will be in Tisch Mills Public Cemetery. Mrs. Allen, nee Evelyn Schreiber, was born in July of 1912 at Horicon, a daughter of the late Otto and Anna Schreiber. She was married in October of 1944 at Juneau to Harold Allen. For the past years the couple had resided at Tisch Mills. January 24, 1970 ANNA AULIK Funeral services for Miss Anna Aulik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aulik, were held from St. Mary's Catholic church at 10 o'clock Monday morning, the Rev. Father Shimek officiating. Interment took place in the adjoining cemetery. Miss Aulik was thirty-five years of age and always made her home with her parents. For some time she had been in ill health but the end came unexpectedly. Besides her parents, six brothers and three sisters survive. They are Louis of Antigo, William of Milwaukee, Frank, John and Dan of Two Rivers and Joseph on the home farm, and Mrs. Wenzel Shebesta, Mrs. John Lambert and Mrs. John Rebitz, all of the community. ANTON AULIK (d. 1929) EXTRA! FARMER DRINKS LYE, IS RUSHED TO HOSPITAL Anton Aulik, 70 Kewaunee Co. Farmer, Despondent, and Drinks Poison Surffing from a nervous breakdown for the past several months, Anton Aulik, 70, farmer, residing in the town of Franklin, Kewaunee county, north of Tisch Mills, drank a quantity of lye yesterday afternoon. He was rushed to the municipal hospital at Two Rivers this noon and is said to be in critcal condition. Aulik's mouth, throat and stomach were badly burned by the lye and when Dr. Skwor of Mishicot, who was summoned, arrived at the farm home, he decided to have Aulik removed to the hospital at once. He is married and has a large family of children. Funeral services of the deceased, who was 70 years of age will be held Saturday morning at nine o'clock from the St. Mary's Catholic church at Tisch Mills with burial in the Tisch Mills cemetery. Aulik has been suffering from a nervous breakdown for some time and while in this condition took the poison. He was brought to the hospital on Tuesday by Dr. Skwor of Mishicot. The deceased is survived by his widow, who was Mary Hallada, three daughters, Mrs. John Rebitz, Mrs. John Lambert, and Mrs. Shebesta, all of Tisch Mills, and six sons, Joseph of Tisch Mills, Ben and Frank of Two Rivers, John and William of Kewaunee and Louis of Antigo. BESSIE AULIK Mrs. Joseph Aulik, 56, of rural route in Carlton, Kewaunee county, died Monday evening at St. Vincent's hospital Green Bay after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the residence and 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic church, Tisch Mills, the Rev. John Rous officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Mrs. Aulik, nee Bessie Zime, was born in Antigo in 1890 and was married to Joseph Aulik in Antigo in 1910. For seven years they resided in that city before moving to the Aulik farm homestead in Carlton where they have since lived. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Kunish of Tisch Mills, Mrs. Frank Siebold and Mrs. Milton Augustine both of Carlton; a sister, Mrs. James Maresh of Two Rivers; two brothers, Frank and Joseph of Antigo; and five grandchildren. DORA AULIK Mrs. Dora Aulik, 75, Tisch Mills, nee Dora Hallada, died Saturday afternoon in the Two Rivers hospital following an illness of several weeks. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., from the home of a daughter, Mrs. John Lambert, Mishicot route, and at 10 a.m., from the St. Mary's church at Tisch Mills. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Aulik was born in August of 1863 in Bohemia. She came to America as a girl and settled near Tisch Mills with her parents. In 1882 she was married to Anton Aulik. The couple lived on a farm near Tisch Mills until nine years ago, when Mr. Aulik died. Since then Mrs. Aulik has lived with her children. She was a member of the Holy Rosry Society of the St. Mary's church. FRANK AULIK A 90 year old resident of the village of Denmark, Frank Aulik, died at the Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, early Sunday after a long illness. Funeral services will be held at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Tisch Mills, at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Joseph Kalisek officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemtery. Mr. Aulik was born in Bohemia in 1861 and immigrated to the United States with his parents at the age of three. He married the former Francis Hlinak in 1885 and settled on a farm in Tisch Mills. He operated the farm until his retirement 30 years ago. It was then that Mr. and Mrs. Aulik moved to Denmark. Mrs. Aulik died in 1947. For the past 14 years Mr. Aulik had been living with his daughter, Mrs. Simon Dufeck, in the village. In addition to Mrs Dufeck, survivors include; two sons, Joseph and John, both of Manitowoc; one sister, Mrs. Tony Blahnik, of Milwaukee; and 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. JOSIE BALOUN Mrs. Joseph Baloun, 81, a Green Bay resident the past nine years, died Sunday. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Angels Church, Green Bay. The Rev. ALAN J. BARTA Alan J. Barta, age 68, of Two Creeks Road, Two Rivers, died unexpectedly Thursday, February 19, 1998. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 23, 1998, at 7:15 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Tisch Mills. Rev. Gerald B. Kempen, 0. Praem, will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery. Alan was born March 29, 1929, in Two Creeks, son of the late Calvin and Leilah (Havlinek) Barta. He was a life-long area resident. Alan was a graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers, with the Class of 1946. He married the former Grace Retzlaff on November 10, 1951, in Vesper, Wis. Mr. Barta operated their homestead farm in Two Creeks until his retirement in 1990, and remained active with his son, on the farm. He also worked at the Two Creeks Garage for many years. He was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Tisch Mills, the Holy Name Society of the church, and served as Director of the men’s choir of the church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4807. Alan played for many polka bands, including the Two Creeks Farm Hands, The Jerry Volker Polka Band, and currently was playing with the Lee Rollin Polka Band. He is survived by his wife, Grace; two daughters and one son-in-law, two sons and daughters-in-law, 11 grandchildren, one brother, two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews. JAMES J. BLAHA James J. Blaha, age 69, of 5204 Two Creeks Road, Two Rivers, entered into eternal rest on Thursday evening, Jan. 31, 2008, at the Aurora Medical Center of Two Rivers, surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born on July 19, 1938, in Two Creeks to the late Victor and Mary (Jisa) Blaha and has been a lifelong Two Creeks resident. He was a graduate of Washington High School in Two Rivers, graduating with the class of 1956. He married the former Lynn Gasche on May 19, 1962, in Pilson. Jim owned and operated the family farm in the town of Two Creeks for many years and later worked for the Crescent Woolen Mills of Two Rivers for 10 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer, Nativity of the BVM Catholic Church, Tisch Mills Site, where he belonged to the Holy Name Society and the Men's Choir. He was also a member of the Mishciot-Tisch Mills Knights of Columbus Council 4807, the Pleasant View Gun Club and served in the U.S. National Guard. He enjoyed playing cards, especially sheepshead, fishing, hunting deer and antelope and taking many hunting trips to Wyoming for more than a 41-year period. (Survivors omitted for privacy. ANTON BOURIL ANTON BOURIL DIES THURSDAY Brother of Former Alderman To Be Buried Sunday Anton Bouril, 75, brother of former Alderman Charles Bouril of this city, died Thursday night at the farm home in the town of Gibson where he had been living a retired life. He had been in failing health for the past three months. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the home in Gibson with interment in the Tisch Mills cemetery. Mr. Bouril was born in the town of Carlton, Kewaunee county, in 1859 and spent most of his life there. He was married there 49 years ago to Mary Jansky and they took up their home on a farm in the town. Seventeen years ago Mr. Bouril retired and moved to the town of Gibson with his wife. PETER J. BROUCHOUD Peter J. Brouchoud, 72, of 1814 22nd St., Two Rivers, retired Hamilton Mfg. Co. employee, died Thursday afternoon at Manitowoc County Hospital. Mr. Brouchoud was born June 9, 1890, in the Town of Gibson, son of the late Camille and Mary Couchenet Brouchoud. He married the former Emma Hrdina [sic] nearly 50 years ago. She died in 1936. He married the former Mrs. Martha Fenske Homeyer Oct. 19, 1940, at Kewaunee. He lived at Two Rivers from 1917 to 1930 when he returned to the Town of Gibson to operate a farm. He returned to Two Rivers in 1939 and worked at Hamilton Mfg. Co until his retirement in 1955. He was a member of the Hamilton Goodfellowship Club. Mrs. Buresh, nee Katherine Sloup, was born July 6, 1887, in Kewaunee County, daughter of the late Mathew and Mary Mack Sloup. She was married to John Buresh Aug. 31, 1909, at Ashland. Following marriage the couple settled in Manitowoc. Her husband preceded her in death in 1925. Survivors include a son, Frank of Manitowoc; three daughters, Mrs. Adolph (Elizabeth) Kempka of Zephyrihills, Fla., and Mrs. Lambert (Lillian) Kempka and Miss Mary J. Buresh of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Edward Swanda of Milwaukee, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A son, a daughter, a brother and two sisters preceded her in death. ALBERT CIHA FARMER DIES AT HIS HOME Albert Ciha, Tisch Mills, Was 73 Years Old Albert Ciha, 73, retired farmer who made his home in the village of Tisch Mills for the past 15 years, died this morning at the home. Death was due to hardening of the arteries. Mr. Ciha had been in failing health for several months. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Konop funeral home and at 10 a.m. from the St. Mary's Catholic church. The deceased was born in Franklin, Kewuanee county, in 1862. He took up farming and after his marriage to Miss Mary Parma purchased a farm in Franklin which he operated until 15 years ago. He and his wife moved to Tisch Mills to reside. MARY CIHA Mrs. Mary Ciha, 88, longtime resident of the Tisch Mills area and who for the past six years resided at St. Mary Home at Manitowoc, died late Wednesday afternoon at the Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where she had been a patient for a short period. Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tisch Mills, the Rev. Joseph Kalisek officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Mrs. Ciha, nee Mary Parma, was born in the Town of Carlton, Kewaunee County, on Nov. 11, 1867, a daughter of the late Matt and Barbara Parma. She was married to Albert Ciha in October of 1883 at Tisch Mills. The family resided on a farm near Tisch Mills for 33 years. In 1920 the couple retired to a home in the village. Mr. Ciha preceded her in death on May 3, 1935. Mrs. Ciha was a member of the Altar Society of St. Mary Church for many years. WENCEL CIHA Wenzel Ciha Dies At Bolt Wenzel Ciha, an old resident of this place, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Senka, Thursday morning. Mr. Ciha was born in this country 67 years ago and spent all his life in this county. His wife preceded him in death ten years ago and since then he turned over his farm to his daughter and moved to Norman, where he lived in retirement. Some time ago he came for a visit with his daughter, and there death occurred unexpectedly. Deceased is survived by two children Mrs. Joseph Senka on the old homestead and a son, John who lives in Norman. NELLIE DOLEZAL In ill health for the past six years, Mrs. Wenzel Dolezal, 77, died late Saturday afternoon at her farm home near Tisch Mills. The body is lying in state at the Konop funeral home in Tisch Mills, where brief rites will be held at 9:30 o'clock Tuesday morning, followed by a requiem mass at St. Mary's Catholic church in the village. MARY O. DWORAK (d. 2007) Mary Olive Dworak, age 85, of Kewaunee, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at the Kewaunee Care Center. She was born Nov. 27, 1921 in Two Rivers. Olive married John Dworak on June 17, 1961 and he preceded her in death April 11, 1990. She was a very active member of St. Mary's Church at Tisch Mills, now St. Isadore the Farmer Parish, serving as a lector and member of the Rosary Society. She enjoyed visiting shut-ins, friends, and baking cookies for them and her family. A big part of her life was going out dancing. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) JOE FICTUM TISCH MILLS NEWS: On Saturday last the late Joseph Fictum of Stangelville was buried in the St. Mary’s cemetery. Rev. Cipin officiated. Mr. Fictum was a native of Bohemia who came to this country and settled on a farm near Stangelville about 65 years ago. He is survived by many relatives and friends who mourn his death. The deceased died Thursday morning and was 94 years old. He died of old age. ******** STANGELVILLE NEWS: Another one of Franklin’s pioneers is dead. Jos. Fictum died at the home of his son, Wenzel, last Thursday after an illness of about a month’s duration. He was 95 years of age. Up to the time of his illness he was hale and hearty and took long walks every day. He is survived by three sons, Wenzel, John and Stephen and one daughter, Mrs. Valenta, all residing in the town of Franklin. Also thirty grandchildren, forty four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. LAWRENCE FINNEL Lawrence Finnel, 23, of Tisch Mills, died Saturday morning at a Green Bay hosptal following injuries suffered as the result of an industrial accident Friday morning at Forest Junction. JOSEPH FORST (d. 1915) After an illness of about two years' duration Joseph Forrest passed away at his home here Thursday evening. Mr. Forrest was a victim of tuberculosis and his demise was not unexpected by his many friends. They lose a worthy friend and neighbor. EMMA FRONK Death called another of Manitowoc county’s residents in the person of Mrs. Wenzel Fronk who passed away at the St. Vincent hospital at Green Bay Friday, following an illness of about three months duration. JERRY W. FRONK Jerry W. Fronk, age 53, of 520 E. Reed Ave., Manitowoc, died on Wednesday evening, Dec. 12, 2007, at Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Jerry was born on June 6, 1954, in Two Rivers, son of Bernard and Elizabeth (Reidy) Fronk. He was a graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers, class of 1972. Jerry continued his education at Lakeshore Technical Institute for electronics, and then graduated from North West Technical College, Green Bay, as an auto mechanic, with high honors. He was employed at Federal Mogul, and most recently at Manitowoc Machine, Manitowoc. He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Jerry enjoyed hunting with his dad, friends and their beagles, and was an avid Packers fan. He had an interest in photography, model trains, and a natural talent for car repair. JOS. HOLETZ TISCH MILLS NEWS: Joseph Holetz gave a very interesting talk about the civil war and some of his anecdotes in its connection. Mr. Holetz is an old civil war veteran, having fought through the whole four years under Sherman and Sheridan. Mr. Holetz described the conditions of the people in the south and the treatment which the union men received. He also told about various battles in which he fought. JEANETTE HOLLY Jeanette Holly, 15-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Holly of Tisch Mills, died Saturday in St. Joseph's hospital, Milwaukee. She submitted to an operation earlier in the week. VACLAV HULETZ From Der Nord Westen, 24 May 1900: Farmer Wenzel Hulit, who resides near Tisch Mills, visited Two Rivers Sat., and on the way home, as he was approaching the Two Rivers Cemetery, he fell from his wagon and suffered fatal injuries. The horse waited alongside the unconscious man. When he was eventually found he was taken to the residence of a Two Rivers relative, Wenzel Schedivy, where he died without regaining consciousness.
NICK JAKLIN Nick Jaklin, 88, of Rt. 1, Denmark, died Sunday evening at the Two Rivers Municipal Hospital. ANNA JANDA (d. 1921) A pall hangs over the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel Janda. The angel of Death made a visitation at the home on Thursday evening and took from the family the oldest daughter, Anne, who had been ailing in health for some time. Anne had suffered from an attack of grippe some months ago from which she never fully recovered. Other complications set in and in spite of the attention and care given her by the parents, the daughter passed away. Being in her sixteenth year and just entering the state of womanhood, Anne, with ample and pleasing manners had won the admiration of the people in the community and was especially popular with the younger set of girls. Funeral services were held from St. Mary's Catholic church on Friday morning at ten o'clock, the Rev. Father Shimek officiating. Those who survive her are her parents, three brothers, Edward and Daniel of Manitowoc and Lottie at home; and three sisters, Mayme, Helen and Rose. Mrs. Janda, nee Anna Wranovsky, was born in the Town of Carlton, Kewaunee County, May 30, 1880, daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Nuhlicek Wranovsky. She was married at Tisch Mills Sept. 4, 1899, to Wenzel Janda. The couple settled on a farm just outside Tisch Mills and in 1948 retired to the village. Mr. Janda died Aug. 5, 1958. Mrs. Janda was a member of the Holy Rosary Society of St. Mary Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. May Valentino of Gilroy, Calif., two sons, Edward of Wilsonville, Calif., and Daniel of Milwaukee; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. LAUDY JANDA Funeral services for Laudy Janda, 45, town of Mishicot farmer who was killed when his car was struck by a Chicago & North Western train at the Rockwood crossing Saturday morning will be held at 9 o’clock Tuesday morning at St. Mary Catholic Church at Tisch Mills, the Rev. Joseph Kalisek officiating. Internment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Laudy Janda was born on the homestead farm upon which he resided in 1905, a son of Wenzel and Ann Wranovsky Janda. EDWARD JANSKY Edward Jansky, 80, of Tisch Mills, died Wednesday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tisch Mills. The Rev. Leonard Woelfel will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Mr. Jansky was born Jan. 9, 1892, at Tisch Mills, son of the late Joseph and Mary Stangel Jansky. He married Clara Shimek Nov. 3, 1915, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Norman. He was a lifetime area farmer. MARY JANSKY Mrs. Mary Jansky, 78, widow of Joseph Jansky of Tisch Mills, died at the home of her son, Edward, Saturday afternoon. Funeral services will be held from the Edward Jansky home in Tisch Mills Tuesday at 9:30 am and at 10 o’clock from the St. Mary’s Catholic church. The rosary will be recited at the home tonight. Mrs. Jansky, nee Mary Stangel, was born in Tisch Mills January 1, 1865, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Holub Stangel. She married Joseph Jansky more than 60 years ago. He died 13 years ago. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. John Kaiser of the town of Mishicot; six sons, Frank of Manitowoc, Emil of Chicago, Louis of Rockwood, Edward of Tisch Mills, Otto of Pittsburgh and Victory of Manitowoc; two stepsons, Joseph Jansky of Tisch Mills and Peter Jansky of Norma; a sister Mrs. Charles Schleis of Two Rivers, and a brother John Stangel of Manitowoc. EUGENE J. JOHANEK Eugene J. Johanek, age 77, a resident of Tisch Mills, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at the Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers. Eugene was born March 30, 1924 in Kewaunee County to the late Jacob and Emily Pilzak Johanek and has been a lifelong area resident. He married the former Dorothy Roidt, June 21, 1947 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Tisch Mills. She preceded him in death on May 13, 1999. He served in the United States Army during WWII in Japan and the Philippines. Mr. Johanek was employed by the Hamilton Manufacturing Company for over 40 years. He played for several bands, including the Joe Karmen Band, Bill Siebold Band, the Two Creeks Farm Hands, and the Mark Jirkovec Band. He was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, the Czechs of Norman and the Carlton American Legion Post #538. EDWARD A. KAKES, SR. Mr. Edward A. Kakes Sr., age 101, of 15735 Saxonburg Road, Mishicot, died on Wednesday evening, Feb. 13, 2008, at the Hamilton Memorial Home in Two Rivers. He was born on Oct. 26, 1906, in Mishicot, son of the late Thomas and Anna (Dushek) Kakes Sr., and has been a life-long area resident. He attended the Mishicot schools. Edward married the former Loretta Wollenberg on Nov. 22, 1939, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in De Pere. She preceded him in death on Dec. 19, 1988. He and his wife farmed their entire working lives in the town of Mishicot. He was also employed at Eggers Industries. In 1924, he helped build the homestead barn. He loved music, and in 1935, he started a three-piece band with his brother, Dan. They played for many weddings. Every Christmas, he would cut Christmas trees, and sell them to his many customers. ADAM KLIMESH Adam Klimesh, 63, of Kellnersville, a retired Town of Carlton, Kewaunee County farmer, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at his home late Sunday night. DONALD KOBES Denmark Boy County's 2nd Traffic Death Two Rivers - Injuries received in a single car crash about one mile northwest of this city on Highway 147 Monday afternoon proved fatal early Wednesday morning to 16-year old Donald Kobes of Rt. 1 Denmark. The death of the Denmark youth and that of a Shorewood man, who also died as the result of injuries suffered in an accident, raised the state highway toll for the year to 177 - 52 ahead of last year's all-time record pace. Internal Injuries The Kobes boy died of internal injuries at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital. He was the second person to die in a traffic accident in Manitowoc County so far this year. The county toll was also two deaths at this time in 1967. Manitowoc County Police said the Kobes boy was riding in a 1959 model vehicle driven by his brother, same address, which failed to negotiate a curve and struck a tree off Highway 147. His brother escaped with minor injuries and was treated as an outpatient at the hospital. The accident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Police listed the car as a total wreck. Died on Birthday The Kobes boy was born March 13, 1952, and died on his 16th birthday. He was the son of Edward and Delores Koenig Kobes and was a native of Zander, Town of Gibson. He attended the Zander district school and was a sophomore at Mishicot Community High School. He was a member of St. Mary parish at Tisch Mills. Besides his parents, he leaves a sister, and two brothers. The maternal grandmother, Mrs. Nicholas Jaklin, of Rt. 1 Denmark, and the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Kobes, of Kewaunee. NORBERT F. KOENIG Norbert F. Koenig, age 84, of 719 Columbus St., Two Rivers, and a former Tisch Mills resident, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, morning March 26, 2008, at the Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers. Norbert was born in 1924 in Black Creek, town of Montpelier, to the late Frank and Mary (Duckart) Koenig. With his father being a cheesemaker, his family moved a lot. He served in the U.S. Army in War World II from 1944 to 1946. After the service he purchased a farm in the Two Creeks area. On Sept. 27, 1950, he married the love of his life, the former Florence Kulhanek of Pilsen, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in 2007 with their family. In addition to farming, he also worked for the Mirro Corporation for more than 27 years, retiring in 1989. In 2002, they sold their farm and moved to Two Rivers. Norbert was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed polka music, traveling, sheepshead, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He will especially be missed for his great sense of humor. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) JOSEPH T. KONOP Final tribute was paid to the late Joseph T. Konop, 49, prominent Tisch Mills business man and bank director at St. Mary's church in Tisch Mills Monday morning. The Rev. Hodek officiated. Burial was at the church cemetery. Members of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary's church and the Z.C.B.J. Bohemian lodge of which the late Mr. Konop was an active worker, marched in the funeral procession, while old band mates of Mr. Konop rendered a number of selections at the church and at the home. JOHN KOPETSKY Manitowoc Herald Times, March 30, 1946 issue John Kopetsky, 68, of route 1, Two Rivers, died early today at the farm home in Two Creeks. He had been seriously ill for only a week. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic church in Tisch Mills at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery there. The body is at the Klein & Stangel Inc. funeral home, Two Rivers, and may be viewed there from 7 o'clock this evening. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home Monday evening. Born on his parents' farm in the town of Two Creeks in 1878, the deceased was the son of John and Anna Mancel Kopetsky. Following his schooling in the town he assisted his father on the farm until 21 years of age when he went to Minnesota, remaining five years. While in Minnesota he married Mathilda Srnsky of Tabor, Minn at East Grand Forks in 1903. The couple remained there until 1905 when they returned to Mr. Kopetsky's former home in Two Creeks. They have remained to operate the farm there ever since. Mr. Kopetsky was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Mary's church, Tisch Mills. Surviving are the wife, fours sons, Frank and Stanley of Two Rivers, Wenzel and Leo both of route 1, Two Rivers; one daughter, Mrs. Norbert Kimmes of Two Rivers. There are 12 grandchildren. MATHILDA KOPETSKY Mrs. Mathilda Kopetsky, 93, of Rt 2, Mishicot, died Sunday evening at Family Heritage Nursing Home, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tisch Mills. The Rev. Joseph P. Lutheran will officiate with burial at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Kopetsky was born March 13, 1883, in the Town of Bohemia, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anton Srnsky. She was married to John Kopetsky in 1903 at East Grand Forks, Minn. They farmed in the town of Two Creeks until Mr. Kopetsky died in 1946. She was a member of the Rosary Society at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Dies Monday Morning at Home of His Mother at Krok Had Been Employed in Factory at Two Rivers A little over a year ago the Grim Reaper took the husband and father from the family of Mrs. Mary Kostka in West Kewaunee and left the home desolate with the wife and four sons to struggle on alone. On Monday morning at 5:30 o’clock death again entered the home and claimed Edward, the third of the family, after an illness of only one week with blood poisoning. The young man, only twenty years of age, was crippled from the same disease when a young lad and had a deformed leg. A week ago an infection started in his left arm and although everything was done to spare his young life, he died suffering the most intense pain and death was a relief to him as well as to those who had to witness his suffering. Edward Kostka was born on a farm near Tisch mills on Sept. 4, 1902 and was in his twenty-first year. He had been employed by the Aluminum Goods Company at Two Rivers off and on for about a year and until he was taken sick. His health was never of the best and with his disability, made it impossible for him to keep at work steadily. Surviving the deceased are his mother and three brothers, Frank of this city and Joseph and Daniel at home besides numerous other relatives. The funeral took place Wednesday from the late home at Krok and services were conducted at St. Mary’s Catholic church at Tisch Mills, Rev. Shimek officiating and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery there besides those of his late father. A large number of relatives and friends followed the body to its last resting place. The sympathy of the community goes out to this family in their great sorrow.

He has been a healthy man his entire life, until six weeks ago, when he overlifted himself and strained his kidneys, thus causing a poison system which caused his death. The deceased was born at Casco forty-five years ago, where he lived for about twenty years. On February 7, 1899, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Stangel at Cooperstown. For two years they made their home at Tisch Mills, from there they moved to the farm on which he lived until he was taken sick. Mr. Koska was one of the most influential citizens of the town, and enjoyed a wide acquaintance, not only in his home community, but through the western part of the county. Manifesting a deep interest in all matters which tended toward the advancement of the town, and welfare of its people. He was an honest character and respected by all. He is survived by his wife and four children, Frank, Edward, Joseph and Daniel, all living on the farm. Four sisters, Mrs. Jos. Pavlish, Mrs. Frank Hlinak and Mrs. Chas. Musil of this city, and Mrs. Tom Blahnik and Mrs. John Houdek of Casco. Two brothers Wencil of Casco, and Anton of this city. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 22, from the Tisch Mills Catholic church, and internment was in the cemetery adjoining, Rev. Shimek officiating.
MARY KOSTKA (the following was sent in by a family researcher/see contributors page) Mary (Stangel) Kostka, b.12 May 1878, d.13 Nov 1953/Daughter of Joseph W. and Anna (Aulik) Stangel/Wife of Frank Joseph Kostka, Sr. OBITUARY - Two Rivers Reporter, Two Rivers, WI., Nov. 14, 1953 KOSTKA Mrs. Mary Kostka, 75, 1621 19th St., Two Rivers, a native of Kewaunee County and a resident of Two Rivers for nearly 30 years, died at the Two Rivers Municipal hospital Friday afternoon, where she had been a patient only a few days. Funeral services will be held Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the Klein & Stangel funeral home, Two Rivers, and at 9 a.m. at St. Luke’s Catholic church, Two Rivers. Internment will be in St. Mary cemetery, Tisch Mills. Mrs. Kostka, nee Mary Stangel, was born in the town of Franklin, Kewaunee County in 1878, a daughter of Joseph Stangel and Anna Aulik Stangel. She was married in 1899 to Frank Kostka at Tisch Mills, who died there over 30 years ago. After her husband’s death, she made her home in Two Rivers. Surviving Mrs. Kostka are three sons, Frank and Joseph of Two Rivers and Daniel Kostka, Two Rivers, a sister, Mrs. Anna Brahm of Milwaukee, nine grand children and seven great grandchildren. For many years she was a member of St. Luke’s Altar Society in Two Rivers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m., Sunday until the time of services. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7:45 p.m. Sunday.
FRANK KOWALSKI Frank Kowalski, 85, of Rt. 1, Mishicot, Town of Gibson, died Friday morning at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital following a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tisch Mills. The Rev. Leonard Woelfel will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Kowalski was born April 29, 1886, in Poland. He came to the United States at the age of 20. He married Anna Wrubleski in 1923 at Two Rivers. The couple settled on a farm in the Town of Gibson. Mr. Kowalski was a member of St. Mary Church, Tisch Mills. Survivors include his wife, a son, two daughters, and 11 grandchildren. JAN KRALOVEC From Der Nord Westen, 21 Mar. 1907: On Tuesday last week the body of farmer John Kralevetz was found dead in the yard of his Town Gibson farm. A heart attack had ended the life of the 70-year old man. The funeral was held Friday in Tisch Mills.

JOSEPH KROFTA Joseph G. Krofta, 49, of Beverly Shores, Ind. died Friday morning at Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Carlisle Funeral Home, Michigan City, Ind. and at 9 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, Beverly Shores. The Rev. JOSEPH KUGLE Joseph Kugle, 78, of St. Mary Home, Manitowoc, died Tuesday at the home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Reedsville Funeral Home. The Rev. John Neuser will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Tisch Mills. Mr. Kugle was born April 14, 1893, in the Town of Franklin, Kewaunee County, son of the late Michael and Caroline Forst Kugle. He farmed in the Town of Franklin, Kewaunee County, until his retirement in 1960. Survivors include nieces and nephews. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
