EVEN TOLLEFSON Even Tollefson Dies Suddenly WELL KNOWN MAN IS A VICTIM OF HEART FAILURE Topples From Chair And Expires In Few Seconds Seated in the office of the grain warehouses, at his post of duty, a position he occupied for upwards of forty years, Even Tolefson (sic), manager of the O. Torrison grain and feed department toppled from his chair avictim (sic) of heart failure yesterday afternoon shortly before 4 o'clock and expired within a few seconds. With Mr. Tollefson at the time were Louis Christman and Peter Robinson who thought at first that the victim of the attack had fainted. They picked him up from the floor and one of them ran into Dr. Kemper's office and summoned aid. But when the physician arrived he pronounced him dead. The remains were taken to his home at 915 S. Clair street. Mr. Tollefson was seated in a chair and was trying to repair a lock on the outside door, and the end came entirely without warning. He merely slid from the chair onto the floor and never uttered a word thereafter. HAD BEEN AILING For several months Mr. Tollefson had been ailing though there was no direct evidence that the end would come so suddenly. Recently he complained of not feeling well but seemingly well and robust, there was no alarm felt over his condition. A physical examination showed high blood pressure and at the time it was deemed wise to have a number of teeth which had been giving him trouble, extracted. After (remainder of sentence unreadable) better did not lose any time ???? his work. Even Tollefson was a native of this county having been born at Two Rivers, April 12, 1860, his parents removing to this city shortly after. Besides his sorely stricken wife he leaves two sisters and two brothers surviving him. They are Mrs. B. Jacobson of Chicago, Miss Matena Tollefson, a teacher in the local schools and Edward and Walter Tollefson, both of this city. Funeral arrangements have not been made as yet, but it is thought the services will be held on Saturday. Decedent was 61 years of age and had been in the employ of the Torrison company for forty-three years. Industrious, capable and conscientious he had been one of the most faithful of the employes of the big store and his death comes not only as a direct personal loss to the firm but a shock as well, as his long association had endeared him to his employers as well as all with whom he came in contact.
