DONALD E. KRISH Donald E. Krish, age 70, of 4402 S. Union Road, Manitowoc, died early Wednesday morning, April 26, 2000, at his residence, after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2000, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Ronald Reimer with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Donald was born February 28, 1930, in Manitowoc, son of the late Edwin and Tillie Sladkey Krish. He was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1948. On July 2, 1949, he married the former Barbara Paprocki at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in July of 1999. Don began his employment at the French Slipper Shop in Manitowoc when he was a junior in high school. In 1962, Don purchased the store which he owned and operated until it was sold in 1985. Don then worked part-time as a security guard with Burger Boat of Manitowoc until his retirement in 1991. Don was a member of the Manitowoc Eagles Aerie #706 since 1963. He was a charter member of the Northeastern Wisconsin Great Lakes Sport Fisherman and the Seagulls Club. Survivors include his wife, Barbara, Manitowoc; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Keith Krish and his special friend, Anna Mae Maresch, Kurt Krish and his special friend, Joann Konkle, Ken and Cheryl Krish, all of Manitowoc; three daughters and one son-in-law, Karen and Doug Witczak, Fond du Lac, Karleen Herdina and her special friend, Greg Lambert, Manitowoc, Kim Skattebo, Valders; eight grandchildren, Kelilyn Krish, Josh and Rachel Krish, Aaron Krish, Pam Steiner, Jason Witczak, Robert Herdina Jr., Randy Herdina; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Mariah Steiner; one brother and sister-in-law, Harvey and Grace Krish, Manitowoc; a special aunt, Molly Krish, Kellnersville. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Albert and Helen Paprocki; and one sister, Mildred Strauss. EDWIN V. KRISH Edwin V. Krish, 75, of 1036 N. 14th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Chruch, Manitowoc. The Rev. Leo Schmitt will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. There will be military graveside rites by the American Legion. Mr. Kirsh was born Nov. 20, 1896, at Cooperstown, Wis., son of the late Wencel and Mary Marshek Krish. He married Tillie Sladkey June 5, 1923, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Green Street. He was employed at Robert Eisner Contractors for 40 years, retiring in 1962. He was veteran of World War I, serving in Company E., 314 Division, from Aug. 8, 1918 to June 5, 1919. He also served overseas in Germany. He was a member of American Legion Drews- Bleser Post No. 88 and Holy Name Society of Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Survivors include his wife, two sons, a daughter, two brothers, Wencel, of Manitowoc, and Edward, of Maribel; and nine grandchildren. Two sisters preceded him in death. ELIZABETH KRISH While not unexpected the death of Mrs. Joseph Krish at the family home in the town of Cooperstown Sunday morning at 6:30 after an illness of three months came as a shock to a wide circle of relatives and friends. The funeral will be held from the home at 10 o’clock Wednesday morning, the Rev. Tepley of Melnik officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen. Mrs. Elizabeth Krish, nee Hollay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hollay, was born in Bohemia September 21, 1865 and came to this country with her parents at the age of fourteen. The family settled in Cooperstown and it was here she was married February 3, 1892, to Joseph Krish. She continued to make her home in Cooperstown until her death. Surviving her are the husband, one son and six daughters, Joseph Jr., Mrs. Emil Krejci and Mrs. Edward Bohacek of this city, Mrs. Elmer Arndt of Milwaukee, Mrs. Anton Decker of Powers, Mich., Mrs. Joseph Bohacek of Melnik and Miss Victoria at home. HELEN E. KRISH Mrs. Helen E. Krish, 84, a Manitowoc resident, who resided at St. Mary Home, Manitowoc, died Friday evening, Sept. 28, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. She was married to Wencel B. Krish, in 1927, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Her husband preceded her in death Aug. 15, 1980. JOSEPH KRISH (d. 1953) Joseph Krish, 91, former county resident, died Tuesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Arndt, in Milwaukee. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm. JOSEPH R. KRISH (d. 1973) Joseph R. Krish, 81, of Rt. 4, Manitowoc, died late Sunday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Gervase J. Zanotti will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Krish was born July 23, 1892, in the Town of Cooperstown, Manitowoc County, son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Holly Krish. He married Victoria Meyer Oct. 18, 1913, in Manitowoc County. He was a carpenter all his life. In 1945, they moved to Denmark, where he was the owner of the Uptown Bar, moving back to Manitowoc in 1949. His wife preceded him in death Dec. 28, 1967. VICTORIA KRISH Mrs. Joseph R. Krish, 73, of Rt. 4, Manitowoc, Highway 141, died Thursday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, after a brief illness. Mrs. Krish, the former Victoria M. Meyer, was born Nov. 22, 1894, at Chicago, and was married to Mr. Krish Oct. 18, 1913, at Larrabee. WENCEL B. KRISH Wencel B. Krish, 84, of 1708 Michigan Ave., Manitowoc, died Friday, Aug. 15, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. GEORGE KRIZ Dr. G.A. Kriz Dies; Rites Thursday Dr. George Allen Kriz, 54 died yesterday at his home, 1226 N. 14th St. For a number of years he had been with the Arizona State Health Department. Dr. Kriz was born in Wisconsin and came to Phoenix from Elm Grove, Wis. He was a graduate of St. John's Military Academy at Delafield, Wis., the University of Wisconsin, and the University of Pennsylvania. He was a member of the American Society of the Practice of Medicine, the Phoenix Lodge of Elks and the First Congregational Church. He had been elected to Whos' Who in Medicine. JOSEF KRIZ Death Saturday of Joseph Krietz (sic), well-known resident of our city, in Holy Family Hospital during a cancer operation. Joseph Krietz, a cabinet-maker, was 63 years old and leaves a widow and 4 children. Der Nord Westen, 01 Nov. 1906 ******** Joseph Kriz (sic), aged sixty-three, died at 4 o'clock Tuesday morning, Oct. 30, at the family residence on Eleventh street, after an illness extending over a period of six months, death resulting from the effects of an operation he had undergone for cancer of the bowels on Saturday, Oct. 27. Mr. Kriz is survived by a wife and four children. He was a carpenter by trade, and worked at his trade until the time when the fatal disease mentioned fastened itself upon him. The funeral was held last Thursday afternoon. The carpenters' union, local No. 840, attended the obsequies in a body. LAURA G. KRIZ Laura Gaterman Kriz of Loveland, Colorado, a homemaker, departed peacefully on July 1, 1989 at North Shore Manor. She was born May 22, 1904, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin and graduated from Manitowoc high School and the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art Education. Her father was the founder of the Gaterman manufacturing Company. She belonged to Kappa Delta Sorority. She was later a Teacher and Art Supervisor in Lansing, Michigan. In 1930 she married George Alan Kriz, M.D. they lived together in Elm Grove, Wisconsin, where their home and gardens were the site for many public garden tours. After they moved to Arizona she was a member of First Congregational Church in Phoeniz. Her artistic talents were expressed through music, painting, sculpture and photography. She was a member of the Phoenix Camera club and the Photographic Society of America which awarded her its highest "Five Star Award" for achieving 288 nature slide acceptances in international competition. Her color wildlife photographs were printed in Arizona Highways and National Wildlife publications. Throughout her life she found beauty in the simplest of natural forms and fully appreciated the richness of such simplicity. She is survived by a daughter, Carol Amey of Loveland, Colorado; a sister, Freda Born of Tucson, Arizona and two grandchildren, John and Catherine Amey. A private memorial service will be conducted at Sunrise Ranch. Her cremated remains will be interred with loved ones in Manitowoc. ALEX KRIZAN Tumble Down Stairs Is Fatal Accidental death was the official ruling Monday on the mishap Saturday which took the life of Alexander Krizan, 53, of N. Fourth St. Krizan died at the Memorial Hospital of a skull fracture he received in a fall down a flight of stairs shortly before 3 p.m. Saturday. Police said Krizan was found at the bottom of the stairs in the Barn tavern, 705 Chicago St. Dr. Theodore Teitgen, Manitowoc County coroner, ruled Monday that Krizan’s death was accidental. Krizan, a worker at the Hamilton Manufacturing Company in Two Rivers, entered the tavern an hour before the accident, police were told. He was on his way to the basement rest room when he apparently tripped and fell down a flight of 11 steps. Police said he was taken to the Memorial Hospital by city ambulance, and died there about two hours later. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Dr. C. H. YARMILLA KRIZAN Mrs. Alexander Krizan, 65, of 1236 S. 31st St., Manitowoc, died Sunday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, after a lingering illness. Mrs. Krizan, nee Yarmilla Dushek, was born Sept. 17, 1904, in the Town of Gibson, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Miloslv and Carrie Schenian Dushek. She was married to Eugene Price in 1936. He died in 1944. In 1947, she was married to Alexander Krizan. He preceded her in death in 1954. Mrs. Krizan was graduated from the old Washington High School in 1911 and in 1924 from Manitowoc Business College. She was employed at Johnson Electric Co. and Mirro Aluminum Co. LILLIAN E. KRIZANOWSKI Mrs. William Krizanowski, 76, of 1515 Washington St., Manitowoc, died early Wednesday morning at Maple Crest Sanitarium, Whitelaw. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church Chapel, Manitowoc, with the Rev. Vernon Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. She was born Lillian Miller Jan. 31, 1885, at Jacksonport, Wis., daughter of the late Julius and Mary Brandt Miller. She was married to William Krizanowski Aug. 1, 1903, at Chicago. The couple resided there until coming to Manitowoc 53 years ago. They at one time operated Chili Bill’s Lodge at Rt. 2, Manitowoc. She was a member of Pythian Sisters and Golden Age Club. Her husband preceded her in death June 19, 1946. LUCILLE KRIZANOWSKI Lucille M. Krizanowski, age 91, formerly of 1625 S. 14th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center. Private family funeral services will be held on Monday, June 27, 2005, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church Chapel. The Rev. Steven Olson will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Lucille was born Sept. 16, 1913, in the town of Kossuth, daughter of the late Charles and Thresa Rhode Hampke. She attended Rockwood School. On June 20, 1931, Lucille married William Krizanowski. He preceded her in death Nov. 1, 1867. The couple owned and operated Chili Bill’s Lodge. She worked at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center from 1972 until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of First Lutheran Church. WILLIAM E. KRIZANOWSKI (d. 1967) City Council Resolution Whereas, the citizens of the City of Manitowoc, were grieved to learn of the death of William E. Krizanowski, a former alderman of the fifth ward of this city. Whereas, the late William Krizanowski was alderman for the fifth ward of the City of Manitowoc from April, 1948 to April, 1952, during which time he headed the Legislation Committee and the Markets and Public Welfare Committee of the Common Council, and Whereas, the late Mr. Krizanowski was very active during his tenure as alderman in promoting the expansion of the present airport and spent many hours alerting the resident of the area in the plans of the City of Manitowoc and the need for additional land and Whereas the late Mr. Krizanowski was very active in musical circles of Manitowoc County, being an accomplished musician and Whereas, the late Mr. Krizanowski was employed as a bridgetender for the City of Manitowoc since Nov. 12, 1955, Now, therefore, Be it resolved by the Mayor and Common Council that we pause in our deliberations to pay our respects to the late Mr. Kriznowski for the fine work he did for the community during his lifetime. Be it further resolved by the Mayor and Common Council that this resolution be kept in the files of the Clerk of the City of Manitowoc and that a copy be sent to the family of the late William Krizanowski. WILLIAM R. KRIZANOWSKI (d. 1946) William R. Krizanowski, 67 (photo), former owner-operator of Chili Bill’s lodge, northwest of the city on route 2, Manitowoc, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home adjoining the lodge last night. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Krizanowski was born in Chicago in 1879 and in 1903 married Miss Lillian Miller. He was engaged in the printing business in Chicago, moving here in 1906, and was with the Brandt Printing and Binding company until 1909, when he took over Chili Bill’s lodge on the town line road. In 1915 he took over the Addison House in this city, which he operated until 1921, when he operated the Manitowoc parlors at Washington and Tenth streets. In 1927 Mr. Krizanowski, in company with his son, William Jr., returned to the lodge, retiring from active business in 1944. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias. Survivors are his wife; son, William Jr., of this city; daughter, Mrs. Walter Eulert of Chicago; two brothers, Julius of Chicago, Frank of Barrington, Ill.; sister, Mrs. T. F. ANNIE KRIZEK Mrs. Joseph (Annie) Krizek, 83, a resident of Park Lawn Nursing Home, Manitowoc, formerly of 908 Chicago St., died Saturday afternoon, at Park Lawn Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Mrs. Krizek was born Sept. 5, 1900, in the Country of Czechoslovakia, daughter of the late Wencel and Anna Kouba. She came to the United States as a child, settling in the Township of Gibson. Later she moved to the Kellnersville area and then in 1961 she moved to Manitowoc. She married Joseph Krizek Sr., Nov. 15, 1921, at Kellnersville. He preceded her in death Jan. 22, 1972. CHARLES F. KRIZEK Charles F. Krizek, age 71, of 820 Woodlawn Drive, Manitowoc, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at his residence. Charles was born Feb. 20, 1936, in the town of Kossuth, son of the late Joseph and Anna Kouba Krizek. He married the former Joyce Taylor on Oct. 27, 1956, in Manitowoc. He owned and operated C and J Aluminum, retiring in 1998. Charles was a member of St. James Episcopal Church. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) STANLEY H. KROGSTAD Stanley H. Krogstad, age 96, of 1315 New Hork Ave., Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at the family residence. Stanley was born on Nov. 13, 1914, in Elk Horn, Iowa. He was the son of the late Edwin and Lenora Petersen Krogstad. Stanley was a graduate of Elk Horn High School with the class of 1933. He served with the United States Army overseas during World War II in Germany and France. After being honorably discharged, he became employed in Omaha, Neb., for several years. Stanley then re-enlisted entering the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. Once honorably discharged from the Air Force, he came to Manitowoc and was employed with Safe Way Coach Company for 18 years. Stanley then became employed as a security guard at the Foley Company until he retired in 1987. On Nov. 7, 1964, he married Mary Kirkpatrick in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Stanley enjoyed playing his trumpet and while in the military he was the staff bugler. FRED KROHN FRED KROHN IS INJURED HERE Falls From Roof of Garage He Was Shingling A possible fracture of the spine, causing paralysis below the waist, was the injury sustained by Fred W. Krohn, Sr., in a 15 foot fall from the roof of a garage at his home on South Tenth street this morning. Krohn was shingling the roof when he lost his balance and fell to the ground. He thought he landed on his feet but it is believed that he landed squarely on his back. The city ambulance was called and Krohn was removed to the hospital where an x-ray picture will be taken to determine the extent of his injuries. Krohn is about 60 years old. His condition is considered serious. His injury was diagnosed as fractured vertebrae. While engaged in shingling the roof of the garage, Mr. Krohn lost his balance and fell about 15 feet, landing on his back. Mr. Krohn was born in Germany. With his parents he came to this country as a boy. The family settled at Kewaunee but at the age of 14 Fred Krohn came to Manitowoc where he had resided ever since. He married Emma Vogt 38 years ago. JOHN KROHN Sgt. John Krohn Dies In France Staff Sgt. John (Jack) Krohn, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund W. Krohn of 2133 South 10th street, has been killed in action while fighting as a member of a unit in General Patton's army, in eastern France, according to a message received this morning from the War department by his parents. Krohn, prominent in athletics while attending Lincoln high school, is the 87th war casualty of World War II in Manitowoc county. GEORGE E. KROLL Word has been received of the death of George E. Kroll, 52, at Honolulu, Hawaii, where he had been residing at a hotel. Death was unexpected. Mr. Kroll was born at Manitowoc Sept. 1, 1907, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anton J. Kroll. He attended St. Mary Parochial School and after graduation went to Chicago where he was employed by Chicago Bridge and Iron Works. In 1936, he moved to California and worked for Richfield Oil Co. aboard the U.S.A. Augie World in ocean going oil transport. During World War II, he served in the merchant marines, transporting oil. One of his ships was sunk in combat and he spent 24 hours in a life boat before being rescued. After the war he continued sailing for several concerns and at the time of his death was attached to the S.S. Valiant Hope. He concluded more than 25 years of sailing with the rank of third assistant engineer. Mr. Kroll never married. Surviving are three brothers, Frank of Long Beach, Calif., Leon of Milwaukee and Anton, a twin brother, of Manitowoc; and two sisters, Mrs. Marie Siebel of Long Beach and Mrs. James B. EDWARD C. KRONBERG (d. 1996) Edward C. Kronberg, age 73, of 1114 S. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Thursday morning, March 14, 1996, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. LORRAINE KROUSE Lorraine E. Krouse, age 97, a Shady Lane resident in Manitowoc, passed away on February 12, 2014. Lorraine, the daughter of Charles and Louise (Henschel) Boeldt, was born March 3, 1916 in Sheboygan County. On March 30, 1937, she married Hilmer K. Krouse. Hilmer preceded her in death in 1979. Lorraine was a stay-at-home mom until her children started school. She then began working at Schuette Bros. grocery and then moved to the ready-to-wear department. She retired from Schuette Bros. at the age of 78. After Lorraine's retirement, she kept busy traveling, reading and shopping. She is survived by her daughters: Sandra Rogness (James), Barbara Wallace and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Krouse. She is further survived by 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Roger L. Krouse, her son-in-law William Wallace (Barbara); her three brothers Lester, Wilbert and Karl Boeldt, her sister and brother-in-law Leona and Paul Voss, sister-in-law Gladys and her husband Al Dembski, and brother-in-law Lester Krouse. Gladys was born on Dec. 17, 1922, in to the town of Franklin, Kewaunee County. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Clara Schneider DeWane, Gladys was a graduate of Denmark High School with the class of 1939. She continued her education at the Manitowoc Business College. Gladys was employed as a clerk at the City Dairy in Manitowoc and later she became employed as a nurse’s aid at Shady Lane Home in Manitowoc. CONRAD KRUCK Conrad E. Kruck, 70, (photo) of 1209 New York avenue, who retired a year ago last February after being employed for 39 years at the Manitowoc Ship Building company, died in his sleep early today at his home. Mr. Kruck suffered a stroke some time ago but was able to be about. He was out of the yard at his home Monday. Funeral plans are incomplete, awaiting word from a son, Edward, in Canada. Mr. Kruck was born in this city in 1875 and in 1894 married Miss Henrietta Balk, in New Orleans. They made their home in that city for 10 years Mr. Kruck being employed in railroad work there. Then they came to Manitowoc, and Mr. Kruck took employment at the ship yards. He retired in February, 1944. ERNEST E. KRUCK (d. 1946) Ernst E. Kruck, 61, a native of Manitowoc and veteran Soo Line engineer, died Tuesday night at a Fond du Lac hospital. He had made his home in that city for years. ERNEST H. KRUCK (d. 1964) Ernest Kruck, Printer, Dies Ernest H. Kruck, 58, of 401 Cleveland Ave., veteran employe of the Manitowoc Herald-Times, died unexpectedly at Holy Family Hospital after a coronary attack at 7:15 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Kruck, a native of Manitowoc, was composing room superintendent of The Herald- Times and was completing his 35th year of employment with the publishers of the daily newspaper. He was born July 25, 1905, son of the late Conrad and Henrietta Kruck. He married Irene Cavanaugh Oct. 16, 1931. Mr. Kruck was a member of Printers Local No. 431, International Typographical Union, AFL-CIO, Holy Name Society of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Eagles Aerie 706. FRANCES BYRNS (RITCHIE) KRUCK Frances Byrns (Ritchie) Kruck, age 97, of 407 Park St., Manitowoc, died Thursday, July 13, 2006, at Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2006, at the First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Dr. Matthew L. Sauer will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Frances was born July 21, 1908, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Robert A. and Daisy Bailey Ritchie. She was educated in the Manitowoc Public Schools and was a 1926 graduate of Lincoln High School. She received her Bachelors of Education degree from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in 1930. She attended the University of Iowa and received her masters degree from New York University in 1940. Frances taught physical education in the Baraboo Public Schools and at Woodrow Wilson Jr. High School and Manitowoc Lincoln High School for 40 years, retiring in 1970 as a counselor and dean of girls at Lincoln High School. She married Raymond M. Kruck on Aug. 15, 1982, at First Presbyterian Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1995. Frances has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since March 24, 1921. She served on the Board of Deacons and Member the Sessions of the church and the Crafty Ladies of First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Delta Psi Kappa (National Honorary Professional Physical Education Sorority), Kappa Delta Pi (Honorary Scholastic Fraternity), former member of Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, former member of the Eastern Star, Elks Ladies past presidents, volunteer at Park Lawn Home, president of the Manitowoc County Retired Teachers Association, Wisconsin Education Association, Wisconsin Retired Teachers Association, Alumni Association of the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, National Retired Teachers Association, Northeastern Wisconsin Education Association, Manitowoc County Historical Society, Wisconsin Maritime Museum, Woodland Dunes and the Shrine Auxiliary. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Herbert and Olga Boldt and Ernest and Irene Kruck, all of Manitowoc. HENRIETTA KRUCK Mrs. Conrad E. Kruck, 82 (photo) died this morning at the home of her son, Roy, of 702 Huron street, with whom she resided. She had been in failing health several weeks. Funeral plans are incomplete, awaiting arrival of two sons from away, and will be announced Thursday. The body is at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home. Mrs. Kruck, nee Henrietta Balk??, was born in New Orleans, La., in 1865. In 1894 she was married to Mr. Kruck, a native of this city, who was at that time employed as a railway inspector in New Orleans. Forty-two years ago they came to this city, and Mr. Kruck was employed at the Manitowoc Ship Building company. He retired in 1938. Mr. and Mrs. Kruck observed their golden wedding anniversary with a family gathering in this city, Feb. 17, 1944. Mr. Kruck died April 10, 1945. Mrs. Kruck was a member of the First Lutheran church and for years was active in the Ladies Aid society of the congregation. HERMAN KRUCK HERMAN KRUCK, CITY PIONEER, DIES, AGED 75 After an illness of several months, suffering from infirmities incident to old age, Herman Kruck, well known ship carpenter, passed away at the Holy Family Hospital this morning. The decedent was born in Germany seventy-five years ago and came to this country fifty-five years ago, locating in this city, and was employed at the local yards ever since. Three sons and two daughters survive him. She continued her education at Manitowoc County Teachers College and then Milwaukee Teaches College where she graduated with a degree in education. She married Ernest H. Kruck on Oct. 15, 1932. He preceded her in death Feb. 15, 1964. Irene was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. JAY C. KRUCK Jay C. Kruck, age 82, a Two Rivers resident, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Meadowview Assisted Living Center, Two Rivers. Jay was born on September 6, 1933 in Manitowoc, son of the late Ernie and Irene (Cavanaugh) Kruck. He was a graduate of St. Mary Central High in Menasha. Jay served with the United States Army Paratroopers. On July 29, 1955 he married the former Lois I. Boldt. She preceded him in death on March 8, 2011. He was the owner and operator of Jay's Y-Inn Supper Club in Door County and loved vacationing in Jamaica with Lois and his family. Jay was also a Packers and Brewers fan. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Jayne and James Schermerhorn, Neenah; one son and daughter-in-law: Brian and Linda Kruck, Two Rivers; one daughter-in-law: Sharon Kruck, Sturgeon Bay; eight grandchildren: Michael, David and Andrew Schermerhorn, Amanda Kruck, David Kruck, Sandra (Robert) Sitte, Cynthia Kruck and Christopher Kruck; two great grandchildren: Logan and Landon. LOIS I. KRUCK Lois I. Kruck, 75, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on March 8, 2011 at Ministry Door County Medical Center. She was born on April 21, 1935 in Manitowoc to Herbert and Olga (Wegner) Boldt. On July 29, 1955 she married Jay Kruck at St. Mary's Church in Menasha. Lois attended Manitowoc Schools and Prospect Hall in Milwaukee. She and Jay built and developed the fourth Jellystone Park in Fort Atkinson. Later, they opened Jay's Y-Inn, south of Sturgeon Bay. Lois was a Certified Hotel Administrator and managed the King's Inn Motel in Sturgeon Bay. For several years she was the Cash Officer at Yonkers in Sturgeon Bay. She enjoyed playing tennis, gardening, and traveling. Survivors include her husband, Jay; two children, Jayne (James) Schermerhorn, Neenah; Brian T. (Linda) Kruck, Two Rivers; eight grandchildren, David Kruck, Neenah; Sandra (Robert) Sitte, Sister Bay; Cynthia Kruck, Tampa, FL; Christopher Kruck, Sturgeon Bay; Amanda Kruck, Two Rivers; Michael, David, and Andrew Schermerhorn, Neenah; one great-grandson, Landon Sitte; a daughter in law, Sharon Kruck, Sturgeon Bay; sister-in-law, Jenny Boldt, Minneapolis, MN; and beloved dog, Hannah. MICHAEL ROY KRUCK M. Roy Kruck, 81, of 1121 S. Eighth St., Manitowoc, died Sunday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Mr. Kruck was born Sept. 24, 1895, at New Orleans, La., son of the late Conrad and Henrietta Galt Kruck, coming to Manitowoc as a young lad with his parents in 1904, attending Manitowoc schools. Following his education in Manitowoc he attended the Coster School of Advertising and Window Trimming in Chicago, Ill., and then was employed at John Hills at Wisconsin Rapids. He married Nora Dorpat Nov. 12, 1919, at Marshfield, coming to Manitowoc in 1941, where they resided and he was employed at Schuette Bros. Dept. Store for 20 years, retiring in 1961. He then worked at Herald-Times Reporter in the advertising department a number of years. Mr. Kruck was a veteran of World War I, serving as a corporal in France and had been a Sunday School teacher for more than 25 years. Survivors include his wife, a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Donna R. RAYMOND M. KRUCK Raymond M. Kruck, age 86, of 407 Park St., Manitowoc, died Friday evening March 3, 1995, at the North Ridge Care Center. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday March 7, 1995, at the First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Steve Olson will officiate with burial at Evergreen Cemetery. He was born April 17, 1908, in Manitowoc, son of the late Conrade and Henreitta Balk Kruck. He attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1926. He was employed with the Two Rivers Reporter and Manitowoc Herald Times for 39 years and was the Classified Ad Manager for 26 years. He enlisted into the Armed Forces in April of 1942 and was discharged in November, 1945, as a Staff Sgt. serving in the Army Medical Corp in Iran, France and Germany during World War II. He married Sylvia Krieg June 8, 1932, in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death in March, 1961. He then married Evelyn Luther on May 2, 1964. She preceded him in death in January, 1982. He then married Frances Ritchie August 15, 1982. He was a member of Edwin G. Nash Chapter Order of DeMolay-1926, served as master council-1929, also was a member of advisory council from 1931-1958. He received the DeMolay Legion of Honor on June 6, 1931. Kruck was the first to receive this degree in Manitowoc. The Legion of Honor is the highest honor one can achieve in the Demolay (sic). He was also a member of Manitowoc Lodge F. and A.M. #65; Manitowoc Chapter Royal Arch Masons #16; Manitowoc Council Royal and Select Masons #18; Manitowoc Comandaery Knights Templar #45, served as commander from 1958-1959; Ancient Arabic Order Mystic Shrine, Tripoli Temple, Milwaukee; Tripoli Temple Legion of Honor, Milwaukee; Two Rivers/Manitowoc Shrine Club; Tall Cedars of Lebanon. He is also a member of Mississippi Valley Classified Adertising Manager Association, president of the Board of Directors in 1965; the American Legion Post #88; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #659. ADOLPH H. KRUEGER (d. 1956) Adolph H. Krueger, 71, died unexpectedly of a heart attack early Friday morning at his farm home on Rt. 1, Manitowoc. The lifetime Manitowoc County resident had been in good health. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. ALMA H. KRUEGER (d. 1978) Mrs. Alma Krueger, 85, formerly of 1126 S. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning in Park Lawn Nursing Home, Manitowoc. Mrs. Krueger, nee Alma Ottelien was born April 9, 1893 in Reedsville, daughter of the late August and Amelia Sorge Ottelien. She was married to Ervin Krueger September 30, 1914 in Reedsville, moving to Manitowoc where they owned and operated a grocery store for many years. Mr. Krueger preceded her in death in 1966. A very pretty wedding took place Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm when at the Friedens church in our village, Rev.  Weichelt plighted the marriage vows of Mr. Ervin Krueger and Miss Alma Ottelein. The bride, who is one of Reedsville's fairest and most popular young ladies, a graduate of local school and a accomplished musician was becomingly gowned in white crepe du chein, with chiffon overdress, carried a shower bouquet of pink roses and maiden hair ferns, wore becoming wreath and veil and was attended by her sister, Esther. Miss Clara Krueger, a sister of the groom, both gowned in white messaline. The groom's attendants were Arthur Ottelein, brother of the bride, Oscar Krueger, brother of the groom.  After the ceremony, a wedding supper was served at the home of the bride's parents to relatives of the happy couple. The dining room was prettily decorated in white and pink for the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Krueger will make their future home in Manitowoc where the groom holds a position in the mercantile line at the Hy. Esch & Sons store. Both young people are popular and have a host of friends who wish them good luck and Godspeed in their matrimonial life.

ARTHUR KRUEGER Arthur L. Krueger, 75, of 1706 Pitcher St., Neilsville, Wis., died Sunday at Neilsville Memorial Hospital. AUGUST KRUEGER (d. 1921) AUGUST KRUEGER, NEWTON PIONEER, IS CALLED TO REST August Krueger, one of the best known residents of the town of Newton is dead at his home there after an illness of only nine days, due to bronchial pneumonia. Mr. Krueger's death occurred yesterday and the funeral will be held Sunday afternoon from the home in Newton at 1:30 with burial at Evergreen. News of the death of Mr. Krueger will come as a shock to friends as he had enjoyed robust health up to his fatal illness. He was born at Daberkob, Germany, 66 years ago and came to Manitowoc county as a boy of eight, the family locating on a farm in Liberty. Mr. Krueger was married in 1881 to Marie Hoeffner who with five children, survive. They are Paul and Charles of Rapids, Edwin, who is teller at the Savings bank in this city, Adolph and Dora in Newton. AUGUST C. KRUEGER (d. 1962) August Carl Krueger, 88, of 936 N. Ninth St., Manitowoc, died early Saturday morning at Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for the last nine days. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church Chapel, Manitowoc, the Rev. Vernon Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Krueger was born March 4, 1873, at Sogges Corners, Manitowoc, son of the late John and Marie Medaus Krueger. He married Lillian Bishop June 8, 1920, at Seymour and the couple made its home at Manitowoc where it celebrated its 50th wedding anniversary in 1960. Mr. Krueger was a pioneer well-driller in Manitowoc County and a member of First Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife; a son, Leroy of Wyman, Ia.; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Wellner of Rt. 2, Manitowoc and Mrs. Edward Wier of Green Bay and eight grandchildren. AUGUSTA KRUEGER (d. 1924) MRS. KRUEGER, OLD RESIDENT, PASSES AWAY Mrs. Augusta Krueger, pioneer resident of the county, known to pioneers and friends as “Grandma” Krueger, died at the home of her son Ernst Krueger Saturday night, aged 87, death being due to infirmities of age. Mr. Kreuger preceded her in death seventeen years ago and for the past five years she had made her home with her son here. Mrs. Krueger was born in Germany August 24, 1837 and came to this state when a young girl. She was married to Mr. Krueger in 1859 and the family resided in the town of Newton for many years before removing to the city. Ten children survive being William, of Minneapolis, Ferdinand and Carl of Newton, Julius and Mrs. Mary Gennrich, this city, Mrs. A. Weinburg, Appleton, Herman of Romulus, Mich., Henry of Newton and Fred of Wausau and Ernst in this city. Sixteen grandchildren and one great grand-child also survive. DEAN W. KRUEGER (d. 1971) Military funeral services for Lt. Dean Wilbur Krueger, 25, of Rt. 2, Reedsville, who died March 26 in Southeast Asia while piloting an A-37 aircraft on a strike mission, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Gervase J. Zanotti will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Krueger was born Oct. 13, 1945, at Manitowoc, son of Wilber L. and Edith Grace Goldie Krueger. He was graduated in 1963 from Valders High School and in 1967 from Wisconsin State University-Platteville with high honors. In May of 1968 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and took basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He volunteered as an experimental subject in the field of Aerospace Medicine in a 13 weeks program. He was a distinguished graduate of Lackland on March 31, 1969. On April 11, 1970, he received his wings with honors at Laughlin Air Force Base, Del Rio, Texas. He was commissioned a first lieutenant Sept. 1, 1970, at England Air Force Base, Alexandria, La. He went to Vietnam Jan. 18, 1971. Mr. Krueger was a member of the Cato Future Farmers 4-H Club, the Valders FFA and First Presybterian Church, Manitowoc. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) EDITH G. KRUEGER (d. 2000) Edith G. Krueger, 85, formerly of 334 Johnston St., Denmark, and currently a resident of the Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers, died November 26, 2000, at Hamilton Memorial Home. Edith was born January 25, 1915, in the township of Newton, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late George S. Goldie and Iona (Stewart) Goldie. She married Wilbur L. Krueger on March 16, 1935. Edith was a 1931 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School and a 1932 graduate of Manitowoc County Teachers College. She taught in rural schools in Manitowoc County and Brown County. After her family was grown, she returned to college, graduating in 1970 from Wisconsin State University, Oshkosh, where she also obtained numerous graduate credits. Edith retired in 1983 after sixteen years of teaching in the Denmark School District. She had been Chairman of the Manitwooc County Farm Bureau Women, Co-advisor with her husband of the Manitowoc County Rural Youth, Secretary of the Valders PTA, and co-founder with Mrs, Irving Maney of the Plainview Homemaker's Club. Edith belonged to the Brown County Teacher's Association, the Wisconsin Education Association, and the National Education Association. She was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, Denmark, and member of the United Methodist Women and the Church Board of the United Methodist Church. Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Grace and Loren Maruga, Two Rivers, a son, Russell and his special friend, Linda Diamantides, of Glendale, AZ, two grandsons, Douglas Meneau and Daniel Meneau and his wife, Cindy, all of Shoto, and a step-grandson, Kevin Maruga and his wife, Bridget, of Anamosa, IA. EDWARD C. KRUEGER (d. 1953) Edward C. Krueger, 69 (above), of 1614 South Tenth St., Manitowoc, lifelong resident of the city, died early Thursday at the Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wesley Methodist Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. John Walker will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Krueger was born in Manitowoc in 1884 and in 1913 married Miss Julia Braasch. He entered the employ of the North Western Railroad as a clerk in the freight office in 1904 where he continued until his retirement in 1949, a 40 year span. He was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church and served on the trustee board for several years and was also a member of the Brotherhood of Railway and Steamship Clerks. Mr. Krueger was an ardent baseball fan, following Manitowoc teams down through the years and rarely missed a home game. Mrs. Krueger died in 1944. ELSIE KRUEGER (d. 1938) Mrs. Fred Z. Krueger, 52, former resident of this city, died yesterday at a hospital in Kenosha, following a long illness. ERNEST KRUEGER (d. 1942) Ernest Krueger, 64, a resident of this city until three years ago when he took over operation of a filling station at Shoto, died Sunday noon at Shoto. The couple came to Manitowoc shortly after marriage and Mr. Krueger owned and operated a grocery store on S. 10th Street for 25 years and was an insurance salesman for Northwestern Mutual Insurance and Milwaukee Auto Companies for 25 years. He was a member of Manitowoc Eagles Aerie 706. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Ione) Beernsten and Mrs. James (LaVerne) Parkin of Manitowoc; a son, Russell of Manitowoc; four brothers, Clarence of Manitowoc, Oscar of Plymouth, Ben of Luxemburg and George of Valders and five grandchildren. A very pretty wedding took place Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm when at the Friedens church in our village, Rev.  Weichelt plighted the marriage vows of Mr. Ervin Krueger and Miss Alma Ottelein. The bride, who is one of Reedsville's fairest and most popular young ladies, a graduate of local school and a accomplished musician was becomingly gowned in white crepe du chein, with chiffon overdress, carried a shower bouquet of pink roses and maiden hair ferns, wore becoming wreath and veil and was attended by her sister, Esther. Miss Clara Krueger, a sister of the groom, both gowned in white messaline. The groom's attendants were Arthur Ottelein, brother of the bride, Oscar Krueger, brother of the groom.  After the ceremony, a wedding supper was served at the home of the bride's parents to relatives of the happy couple. The dining room was prettily decorated in white and pink for the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Krueger will make their future home in Manitowoc where the groom holds a position in the mercantile line at the Hy. Esch & Sons store. Both young people are popular and have a host of friends who wish them good luck and Godspeed in their matrimonial life.

FERDINAND KRUEGER (d. 1935) NEWTON MAN DIES SUNDAY Ferdinand Krueger, 73, Dies of Sudden Heart Attack Ferdinand Krueger, 73, life-long resident of this county, died late last night of a sudden heart attack at his home in Newton on Highway 42. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 from the home and at 2 o’clock at the Newtonburg church with the Rev. E. Kionka officiating. Burial will take place at Evergreen cemetery. The deceased was born on March 2, 1862 in the town of Newton. He was a farmer the greater part of his life and he came to his last place of residence seven years ago. He married Albertina Busse Schrank in 1886. She survives with 3 step- sons, William and Gustave Schrank of Newton, and Julius Schrank of this city. Five brothers, Carl and Henry Krueger of this city, Fred Krueger of Kenosha, Herman Krueger of Detroit and Ernst Krueger, city, and two sisters, Mrs. August Genrich, city, and Mrs. A. FLORENCE KRUEGER Florence W. Krueger, age 91, a resident of Riverwood Estates, died on Thursday morning, July 26, 2012 at Riverwood Estates. She was born on March 3, 1921, daughter of the late Louis and Angeline (Christel) Pankratz in Valders. Florence was a graduate of Valders High School. On September 6, 1941 she married Joseph W. Krueger. Florence is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law: Vicki Simon, Albuquerque, NM and Cindy and Dick Herrmann, Waukesha, WI; a son: Rich Krueger, Manitowoc; three granddaughters and their husbands: Portia (Jim) Perdue, Albuquerque, NM, Christel (Matt) Reynolds, Albuquerque, NM and Melissa (Cameron) VanDyck, OR; nine great grandchildren: Zane, Larkin, Sage, Mason, Alleaya, Dane, Landon, Caleb and Mathias. She is further survived by six sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph, son: Jim Krueger; grandson: Christopher Herrmann and nine siblings. Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc and the family will host a private memorial service at a later date. Witak on June 21, 1958, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. He was engaged in farmed (sic) all his adult life and resided on the Krueger Centennial Farm in the Town of Newton. Mr. Krueger was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church Parish, Alverno and a past member of Newton Volunteer Fire Department and the Manitowoc County Farm Bureau. Survivors include his wife, Bernice Krueger; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Adolph and Alice Witak of Manitowoc, uncles, aunts and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepbrother, Helen Lena Pfefferkorn Krueger and his mother-in-law, Viola Soukup Witak. Krueger, a resident of the city and county for more than sixty years and far past the usual three score and ten allotted to man, found death which came to him at his home 842 North Twelfth street last night, a welcome relief from suffering. Ill since December, he grew steadily weaker and appeared to know the end was coming as he made a request that because he had always so thoroughly enjoyed flowers in their natural state friends should please omit them at his funeral. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 from the home with services at 2 o’clock at the Wesley M.E. church, Rev. A.R. E. Schreiber officiating and burial will be at Evergreen. Served on Cemetery Force. Born in Hohenhausen, Germany, August 15, 1841 Mr. Krueger was past eighty- six years of age and up to the time of his last illness had always been in good health and very active. He served for many years as a member of Edward Pasewalk’s force at Evergreen, being in charge of the shrubberies and flowers. He came to this country at the age of twenty-five in 1866 and three years later was married to Martha Samm, the family taking up its home on the Lake Shore road near Silver Creek park. Fourteen years ago the wife died and the family came into the city to live and have since made their home on North Twelfth street where a daughter, Mary, kept house for him. During the earlier years Mr. Krueger, who prided himself on the fact that he became an American citizen as soon as it was possible after his arrival, often served in the capacity of preacher at the German M.E. church. Peals of wedding bells at 7:30 o'clock pm heralded the approach of another June bridal procession. The participants of this ceremony being Wm Krueger and Miss Frieda Buboltz, both of this village, Rev. Koch using the double ring Lutheran marriage rites pronounced the happy couple man and wife while admiring friends commented upon the beauty of the scene. Gowned in white messaline with lace and pearl trimming wearing customary bridal veil and wreath artistically arranged and carrying a bouquet of white and pink carnations, the bride attended by Misses Hilda Krueger and Mayme Krizenesky gowned in pink crepe presented a charming appearance. The grooms attendants were his brother, Walter Krueger and a brother of the bride, John Buboltz. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Buboltz to relatives nd friends of the bridal couple.

GOTTLIEB KRUEGER (d. 1924) G. KRUEGER, CIVIL WAR VET, IS SUMMONED Taps have sounded for another of the few remaining civil war veterans in Manitowoc county, Gottfried Krueger, who served with Co. B Ninth Wisconsin, passing away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward Stehula, 1736 So. Ninth street Sunday. The funeral will be held Tuesday morning from the Stehula home, with interment at Evergreen. Mr. Krueger, who was 87 years of age, came to Manitowoc county with his parents from Germany when a boy and for many years resided at Reedsville. He had made his home here with his daughter during his declining years. Mr. Krueger is survived by seven children, William, Mrs. Emma Timm, Mrs. Martha Metzger, Frank and Mrs. Bertha Stehula, of this city; David of Wayside and Charles of Reedsville. HARLAND L. KRUEGER Harland L. Krueger, 80, of 615 S. 31st Street, Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, December 19, 1987 at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Newtonburg. Rev. Timothy J. Ehlers will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Krueger was born January 17, 1907 in the Township of Newton, Manitowoc County, son of the late Gottfried and Ottilla Herwig Krueger. He grew up and was educated in the Township of Newton. He attended Manitowoc Business College. Mr. Krueger was a dairy farmer in Manitowoc County all of his life. After his retirement in 1973, they moved to Manitowoc. Mr. Krueger also worked as a part time custodian at Manitowoc Lincoln High School. He married Marie Larson on February 25, 1933 at Valders. Mr. Krueger was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Newtonburg and a member of the Manitowoc Historical Society. Survivors include his wife, Marie; a daughter and son-in-law, June and Richard Gospodarek of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Alma Carstens of Manitowoc; five grandchildren, Lynn Gospodarek of San Bernardino, California, Donna and her husband, Kent Langman of Manitowoc, Debra and her husband, Tom Meineke of Mukwonago, Wisconsin, Alan and wife Gina Gospodarek of Manitowoc and Anthony Gospodarek of Chanute Air Force Base, Illinois; five great grandchildren, Greg and Owen Langman, Stephanie and Jennifer Meineke, and Matthew Gospodarek; nieces, nephews and other relatives. HENRIETTA KRUEGER DEATH DUE TO AGE Mrs. Henrietta Kreuger's(sic) Life Covered Nearly Four Score Years Mrs. Henrietta Kreuger, a pioneer settler of the city, died early today at the home of her son, August Becker, 1013 So. Twentieth street, her demise being due to old age of 79 years and two months. For some years she had made her home with her son, who is one of four children surviving, the others being Charles Brandt, Mrs. Augusta Boehringer, this city and Mrs. J. F. Pate, of Fond du Lac. The funeral will be held Friday at 1:45 to St. John's church, Marshal and 16th streets, Rev. Grauer officiating. HENRY C. KRUEGER 1955 Henry C. Krueger, Sr., 84, of 1420 Division St., Manitowoc, died Friday after- noon at the Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. L. H. Koeninger will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. He was born in Manitowoc in 1870 and in 1899 married Miss Martha Schultz. They located on a farm in Newton and two years later came to Manitowoc. He was employed by the North Western Railroad and later for a 30 year span was employed by the Spindler Co. He retired in 1940. His wife died in 1953. HENRY F. KRUEGER (d. 1924) TO BRING BODY FORMER LOCAL MAN BACK HERE Word was received here of the death at a St. Paul hospital of Henry F. Krueger, a former resident. Mr. Krueger had been ill for months and had been a patient at the hospital for two weeks. The death was not unexpected. William Strothoff and Edward Krueger left today for St. Paul to bring the body here for burial and the funeral announcement will be made later. Mr. Krueger was sixty-seven, having been born in Germany April 5, 1867. He came to this country at the age of six and for twenty-one years made his home in this city, removing forty years ago. He was employed for a number of years in the railroad shops at Hudson. Mr. Krueger was never married and is survived by only one sister, Mrs. Herman Strothoff of this city and by several nieces and nephews. Krueger Jr., 66, of 1700 Grand Ave., Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening of a coronary attack while he and his wife were working on their cottage on Horseshoe Lake in the Town of Meeme. He was dead on arrival at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Mr. Krueger was born Aug. 12, 1900, at Manitowoc, son of the late Henry and Martha Schult Krueger Sr. He married Nina Christensen in 1927 at Manitowoc and she died in 1953. On April 21, 1962, he married Gertrude Karnopp at Manitowoc. He was employed 50 years by the Manitowoc Engineering Corp. HERBERT KRUEGER (d. 1961) Herbert Krueger, 59, of 1110 Park Row Blvd., Manitowoc, died late Wednesday afternoon at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, where he was entered as a patient shortly before his death. He had been in ill health since September, 1960. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. Max M. Herrmann officiating. JAMES J. KRUEGER (d. 1993) Jim (Bruiser) Krueger, age 43, a Manitowoc resident, died suddenly after a brief illness on Monday afternoon, March 29, 1993, at the Two Rivers Community Hospital, Two Rivers. A Memorial Mass will e held at 12 noon on Thursday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating will be the Rev. William Zimmer and cremation will have taken place. He was born September 24, 1949, in Manitowoc, son of Joseph and Florence Pankratz Krueger. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, and Lincoln High School, graduating in 1967. He attended College at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. He took correspondence courses through the Gerklee School of Music in Boston, Mass. He was well known in this area performing with the musical group known as Grease. In 1972 he went to California where he recorded with many famous artists such as Tim Weisberg, Jeff Beck, Les Paul, Stephen Stills, Todd Rundgren, Ted Nugent, Etta James, The Band, Paul Butterfield, Vince Gill, and Mike Finnegan. From 1974 to the present he played with Dave Mason. He is most famous for the song he wrote, “We Just Disagree” which became one of the classic songs performed by Dave Mason. This song now is a current hit by country star Billy Dean. He had his own solo album with Columbia Records known as “Sweet Salvation.” He also did a solo album with Dudek, Finnegan, and the Krueger Band. He was currently with the band known as Jim Krueger and Normal Adults and also the Happy Schnapps Combo. He was born 08 Aug. 1818 in Mecklenburg-Schwerin and came with his wife to Manitowoc in 1864, acquiring the house in which he just died. The old gentleman had not been feeling well for several days, but no one believed that the end was so near. A heart attack brought his life to an end. His aged widow and two children - Mrs. Hermann Strodthof here, and Henry Krueger in North Hudson - mourn his death. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 3, 1999, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc, with Rev. William Zimmer officiating. Cremation will have taken place with burial of his cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery. He was born December 23, 1915, at Reedsville, Wis., son of the late Walter and Mary Krizenesky Krueger. He grew up and was educated in Reedsville graduating with the class of 1934 from Reedsville High School. He was married to Florence Pankratz on September 6, 1941, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Joe was the owner and operator of Krueger's Paint & Floor Covering store in Manitowoc for over 30 years, retiring in 1980. He served with the United States Army during World War II from 1943 to 1945, and he was a prisoner of war for eight months. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc, the Golden "K" Kiwanis Club, Manitowoc, the Knights of Columbus Council #710 of Manitowoc, the Manitowoc County Historical Society, the Capitol Civic Center, and the Northeast Wisconsin Ex-prisoners of War. JULIUS KRUEGER FORMER CITY BRIDGE TENDER DIES, AGED 64 Julius Krueger, native born pioneer resident of the county and for several years employed as a bridge tender for the city, died at the Holy Family hospital at noon today, aged 64. Mr. Krueger had been in ill health for a year and failed to survive the shock of an operation which he underwent. He was born in Newton July 7, 1865 and had made his home in the county all of his life. Funeral services will be held on Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the First German Lutheran church with burial at the Evergreen cemetery. Six brothers and two sisters survive: Ernest of Manitowoc; Fred of Kenosha, Herman of Detroit and Henry, Carl and Ferdinand of Newton and Mrs. August Gennrich, Manitowoc and Mrs. Weyenberg of Appleton. LILA KRUEGER (d. 1922) PNEUMONIA CAUSES DEATH OF LILA KRUEGER Lila __, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Krueger, 1411 Hamilton street, died at the Holy Family hospital yesterday morning following an illness of six weeks. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon from St. John’s Evangelical church, Marshall street, where she was a regular attendant and the Rev. Howe of Milwaukee; will probably officiate at the services. Burial will be made at Evergreen. Miss Krueger was 16 years of age and was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Krueger. She was a student at Washington High school here, she was member of the Freshman class. Taken ill six weeks ago she was removed to the hospital where she underwent an operation for appendicitis but pneumonia set in and in her weakened condition she was unable to withstand the attack. Besides her parents she is survived by four sisters, Erna, Anita, Jeanette and Eleanor. LINDA KRUEGER (d. 1927) MOTHER GIVES LIFE THAT SON MIGHT LIVE Mrs. Adolph Krueger, nee Meisner, passed away at the Holy Family hospital today, death following closely on the heels of the birth of a son to Mr. and Mrs. Krueger two weeks ago. Mrs. Krueger at no time recovered fully from the effects and her condition weakened slowly, failing to rally at any time. The news of her death is a shock to the wide circle of county and city friends and relatives who had held hope for her recovery. Mrs. Krueger, who was Linda Meisner before her marriage to Adolph Krueger three years ago, was born in the Town of Newton and lived there all her life. The son for whom she gave her life is the only child. She is survived by her grieved husband and three brothers, Hubert, Otto and Fred, all of whom lived at Newton. Her father, Fred Meisner, passed away less than two months ago. Funeral arrangements have not been made, and will probably be held at the home at Newton, Monday. She attended schools in Manitowoc and was married to Reuben Krueger Sept. 4, 1922, at Manitowoc. Following their marriage they farmed from 1922 to 1951, when they moved to Manitowoc to reside. Mrs. Krueger had been employed for 10 years at Rathsack Hardware, retiring in 1968. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Mr. Krueger preceded her in death in 1958. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Philip (Mary Lou) Herchefske, of Manitowoc and Mrs. Clifford (Dorothy) Meyers, of Oshkosh, five grandchildren, two great grand- children, cousin, nieces and nephews. MARIE C. KRUEGER (d. 2002) Marie C. Krueger, age 90, a resident of St. Mary’s Home, Manitowoc, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Headrick with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Marie was born on March 26, 1911, in the township of Cato, daughter of the late Oscar and Inga Hanson Larson. She graduated from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, with the class of 1929. On Feb. 25, 1933 Marie married Harland L. Krueger in Valders. He preceded her in death in December 1987. The couple owned and operated their farm in the town of Meeme until their retirement. Marie enjoyed playing cards with her friends and was a member of the Manitowoc Historical society. MARTHA KRUEGER (d. 1953) Mrs. Henry Krueger Sr., 74, of 1420A Division St., Manitowoc, died Monday morning of a hert attack while aboard a Milwaukee Road train en route from Portage. She and Mr. Krueger had been visiting with a son in law and daughter who were preparing to move to Markesan. It was on the return trip that Mrs. Krueger suffered the heart seizure. MARY KRUEGER (d. 1947) Mrs. August Krueger, 84, nee Mary Hoeffner, of the town of Newton, died this morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Otto Tittl, 1011 South 16th Street, city, where she had been making her home since 1943. Born in Newton in 1863, the deceased was married to the late Mr. Krueger in 1881. The couple farmed in the township until the husband's death in 1921. She was one of the oldest members of the St. John congregation. Surviving in addition to Mrs. Tittl, are four sons, Charles and Edwin of this city, Adolph of Newton and Paul of Kiel; two brothers, Ernst and Charles Hoeffner and a sister, Mrs. Herman Vetting, six grandchildren, all of Manitowoc. MILTON C. KRUEGER Milton C. Krueger, age 87, formerly of 1710 Grand Ave., Manitowoc, presently residing at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, died early Thursday morning, Jan. 25, 2007, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. He was born Jan. 1, 1920, son of the late Charles and Esther (Mueller) Krueger. Milton was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc. He served during World War II in the Army Air Corp. from 1942 until his discharge in 1945. On June 20, 1968, he married the former Estelle Repitz in Manitowoc. Milton was a lifelong employee of Manitowoc Public Utilities, where he retired as plant supervisor. Survivors include his wife: Estelle Krueger, Manitowoc; and a sister-in-law: Anna Brusky, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law: Sylvia Seidl, and her husband: Arthur; Lillian Smidel, and her husband: Charles; and a brother-in0law: John Brusky. NINA KRUEGER (d. 1953) Mrs. Henry F. Krueger, 51, of 1824 Rankin St., Manitowoc, died Sunday at the Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a lingering illness. She was born Nina Christensen in Manitowoc in 1901, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Christensen. In 1927 she was married to Krueger. PAUL KRUEGER (d. 1931) Diamond Ball Player Dies On His Birthday Diamond ball fans of the city learned with sorrow last night of the death, at Rochester, Minn., yesterday of Paul Krueger, 22, who played left field all season with the Southside Hardwares of the American league. He was taken to the Mayo clinic when his condition, due to an abscess in the head, became critical. Young Krueger passed away on his twenty-second birthday. The remains have been brought here for burial. He was a loyal member of the Hardware squad and was always on hand on the scheduled dates when his team played. He was employed as an apprentice at the shipyards and resided on South Fifteenth street. Manitowoc Herald News, September 2, 1931 P. 5 (Sports Page) ******** PAUL KRUEGER DIES TUESDAY Local Man’s Death at Rochester Hospital A last hope proved futile in the case of Paul Krueger who was rushed to the Mayo clinic at Rochester, Minn., a few days ago in the hope that an abscess formed on the brain might be successfully treated by an operation. Death came at the Rochester hospital at 8 o’clock Tuesday afternoon. The body will be returned here and the funeral will be held Friday afternoon with service at the home, 726 South Fifteenth street, at 1:30 and at the Lutheran church, Eighth and Marshall street, at 2 o’clock, Rev. Koenninger officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen. Paul Krueger was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Krueger and was born in this city September 1, 1909. He died on his twenty-second birthday. Since leaving school he had been serving as an apprentice steamfitter at the ship yards. Besides his parents he is survived by his brother, Henry, and six sisters, Mrs. Harry Muetzel, Two Rivers, Mrs. Otto Bathke, Mrs. William Keery, Mrs. Arnold Lettenberger, Gertrude and Marie, all of this city. PAUL C. KRUEGER (d. 1955) Paul C. Krueger, 58, of Rt. 2, Kiel, died early Friday morning at Memorial Hoepital, Sheboygan, following a short illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel, the Rev. E. G. Behm officiating, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Krueger was born in Newton on April 2, 1897, son of the late August and Mary Hoefner Krueger. He married the former Esther Free on April 24, 1920. The couple settled on a farm in Manitowoc Rapids, remaining there there 16 years before coming to the Kiel route 1? years ago. REUBEN J. KRUEGER (d. 1958) Ruben (sic) J. Krueger, 61, of 514 S. 31st, Manitowoc, died Friday evening at his home following a lingering illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Wesley Methodist Church, the Rev. Donald T. Stannard officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. He was born Nov. 12, 1897, at Reedsville, son of the late Henry and Anna Weisner Krueger. He married the former Margaret Wiltgen in 1922 at Manitowoc. The couple operated a farm in the Town of Schleswig until 1951, then moving to Manitowoc. Until the time of his illness, he was employed by Aluminum Specialty Co. He was a member of the Men’s Brotherhood of the Bethel Methodist Church in the Town of Schleswig and a member of the Wesley Methodist Church of Manitowoc. Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Clifford Meyer of Oshkosh and Mrs. Philip Kechefski of Manitowoc; five brothers, Ervin and Clarence of Manitowoc, Oscar of Plymouth, Benjamin of Luxemberg and George of Valders; and a sister, Mrs. Leland Kaufmann of Chicago. A daughter, Karen, preceded him in death in 1951. WILBUR L. KRUEGER Wilbur Krueger, 69, of 334 Johnston St., Denmark, died Wednesday evening, August 19, at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. William Plank will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Krueger was born April 10, 1912, at Reedsville, son of the late Walter and Martha Rohrbach Krueger. He was graduated from Reedsville High School and Manitowoc County Teachers College. He married Edith Goldie March 18, 1935. Mr. Krueger taught in rural Manitowoc County schools and later farmed in the Town of Cato, where he was active in community affairs. He retired in 1971. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Presbyterian Men's Club of Manitowoc. Survivors include his wife, a son, Russell Krueger of Stevens Point; a daughter and son-in-law, Grace K.M. and Loren Maruga of Two Rivers; two grandsons, Douglas Meneau and Danny Meneau and his wife, Cindy; a step-grandson, Kevin Maruga; three sisters- in-law, Dorothy Tomachek of Green Bay, Elaine Krueter of Reedsville and Jean Larson of Manitowoc and nieces and nephews. WILFRED D. KRUEGER (d. 1981) Wilfred D. (Bud) Krueger, 51, of 1355 Hazelwood Dr., Manitowoc, died Saturday, Dec. 12, at his residence. Mr. Krueger was born Oct 9, 1930, in the Town of Eaton, son of Myrtle Erickson Krueger and the late Clarence Krueger. He attended schools in Valders and graduated in 1948. Mr. Krueger was co-owner of Berkedal and Shimek for 27 years. He married Barbara J. Berkedal, June 21, 1952, at Manitowoc. The couple resided in Manitowoc all their lives. Mr. Krueger was a member of First Lutheran Church, Kiwanis Club, Manitowoc Elks Club No. 687, Boy Scouts of America, Travelers Protective Association and National Association of Tobacco Distributors. Survivors include his wife, Barbara, three sons, Robert and Steven of Green Bay and Dennis of Dillon, Colo.; a daughter, Ann, at home; his mother, Myrtle Krueger; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Violet and Raphael Rusch of Collins and Harriet and Wendel Knapp of Manitowoc; nieces and nephews. KRUEGER RITES FRIDAY 25-Year-Man At Goods Dies Today At His Home William Krueger, 62, a 25-year-man at the Aluminum Goods plant in this city, died early today at the home, 2408 Marshall street . He had been ill for nearly three months. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the home and at 2 p.m. from the St. John’s Evangelical church, 15th and Marshall streets. Interment will be at Evergreen cemetery. The deceased was born in Maple Grove in 1871 and spent his early life there where he was employed by the railroads. He was married there to Mary Robinson in 1904? and 29 years ago he removed to this city and ____ ___ ___ the ___ Goods company as a millwright. He continued with this post until forced to retire because of ill health. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Avenue at Ridge Road, Green Bay. The Rev. Robert Christman will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Krueger was born June 20, 1889, at Manitowoc, son of the late Henry and Mathilda Boettcher Krueger. He married Frieda Bubolz June 2, 1914, at Reedsville. She preceded him in death in June of 1974. He was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company and Huebner Corporation, moving to Green Bay in 1960. Mr. Krueger was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local No. 949. Survivors include two sons, Norman and Milray of Green Bay; two daughters, Mrs. LaVerne (Leola) Froelich and Mrs. Mildre Kirikovec of Green Bay; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Peals of wedding bells at 7:30 o'clock pm heralded the approach of another June bridal procession. The participants of this ceremony being Wm Krueger and Miss Frieda Buboltz, both of this village, Rev. Koch using the double ring Lutheran marriage rites pronounced the happy couple man and wife while admiring friends commented upon the beauty of the scene. Gowned in white messaline with lace and pearl trimming wearing customary bridal veil and wreath artistically arranged and carrying a bouquet of white and pink carnations, the bride attended by Misses Hilda Krueger and Mayme Krizenesky gowned in pink crepe presented a charming appearance. The grooms attendants were his brother, Walter Krueger and a brother of the bride, John Buboltz. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Buboltz to relatives nd friends of the bridal couple.
