Manitowoc Herald Times, Manitowoc, Wis. September 13, 1972 ******* TWO RIVERS BOY OF 14 PROMISING ART STUDENT Lester Bentley, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Bentley of Two Rivers duplicated his perfomance of last year by winning three prizes with oil paintings which he exhibited at the Manitowoc county fair last week. A marine scene took first prize and two landscapes each won a second place. In all, young Bentley had six pictures entered. Last year he made the startling record of two first and two second prizes on four entries. Lester is fourteen years old and will enter the Two Rivers High School next month, having graduated from the eighth grade of St. Lukes' school last June. It was not till about two years ago that he began to display an uncommon proficiency in the use of brushes and oils. This fact makes his work seem the more wonderful. The fact that his series last week were in competition with professional work shows that the lad possesses unusual talent and should be placed under expert teachers.
