Ackerman, 57, of 4102 Lowell St., Two Rivers, a Two Rivers Washington High School instructor in biology, died unexpectedly early Monday morning at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital. Mr. Ackerman was born Sept 4, 1915, at Kaukauna, son of the late Frank V. and Edith Post Ackerman. When he was two the family brought him to Madison where he attended public grade school and was graduated from Madison East High School. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and received his master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He taught for five years at Mishicot High School, at Menasha High School for one year, Mantiowoc County Teachers College for 22 years and was in his third year at the Two Rivers school. He married Elizabeth Johnson June 13, 1942, at Wisconsin Rapids. He was a member of Manitowoc Lodge No. 22, F. & A.M., and Manitowoc Chapter No. 196, Order of Eastern Star, of which he was a past worthy patron. He was also a member of American Federation of Teachers and the Phi Delta Kappa, Sigma Zeta and Sigma Tau Delta fraternities. CINDY M. AHL Cindy M. Ahl (DeBot), age 25, of 3029 County Highway Q, Manitowoc, formerly of Sheboygan, died early Saturday morning, Dec. 10, 2005, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Cindy was born on Jan. 29, 1970 in Manitowoc, daughter of Emma (Jasper) Ahl and the late James E. Ahl. She attended Manitowoc Lincoln High Scoool. Cindy was employed at Coeur Inc. in Sheboygan as an assembler of medical products until October of this year, at which time her illness prevented her from doing the job she loved. KEVIN S. ALBRIGHT Kevin S. Albright, age 24, of 2005 Division St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at St. Mary's Nursing Home, Manitowoc. Kevin was born Dec. 13, 1980 in Green Bay and was a former Two Rivers resident attending Riverview School until the age of 21. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) MELVIN ALLEN Melvin S. (Swampy) Allen, 62, of 2400 Wilson St., Two Rivers, retired marine engineer on Great Lakes freighters and a member of one of the community's earliest families, died Wednesday afternoon at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital. He has been in failing health for several months. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Klein & Angel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, the Rev. Karl F. Koch officiating. Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth. Mr. Allen was born at Two Rivers Dec. 31, 1906, son of the late Edmund Allen and Mrs. Olga Behrendt Allen Goric. His grandfather, the late Andrew Allen, was the first keeper of Rawley (Twin River) Point Light Station, adjoining Point Beach State Forest. Mr. Allen was graduated from Two Rivers Washington High School in 1925 where he starred in all major sports. As a young man he worked on Great Lakes freighters and gained his engineer's license. An employe of the C. Reiss Coal Co. for a number of years, he was engineer on the firm's tugs at Green Bay and Manitowoc, retiring Jan. 1, 1969. He was a member of Green Bay Elks Lodge. He married at Green Bay July 10, 1934. She survives him along with his mother, Mrs. Olga Allen Goric, and his stepfather, Mike Goric, of Sheboygan; two sisters; a half-sister and a step-brother also survive. ROBERT B. ALLING Robert B. Alling, 63, of 1002 E. Crescent Dr., Manitowoc, died Friday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Theodore Vinger will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth. Mr. Alling was born April 21, 1908, at New York City, son of the late Robert and Annie Smith Alling. He attended schools in New York and later attended Columbia University. Following his schooling he was a partner in a Wall Street firm for many years. He entered the U.S. Army in 1942 and was discharged in 1945. He then was employed at the Trade Bank and Trust Co., New York, before coming to Manitowoc in 1954. He married Jean Lenz Feb. 25, 1950, at New York. Mr. Alling was employed as purchasing agent for the Manitowoc Equipment Works until 1959 when he formed the Alling Company Inc., of which he was president. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, the Kiwanis Club of Manitowoc and Eagles Aerie No. 706. Survivors include his wife and a sister, Mrs. Jane Carlton Farrell, of Clearwater, Fla. DEBORAH J. ALTERGOTT Mrs. David (Deborah) Altergott, age 51, of 1020 17th St., Two Rivers, died on Thursday evening, Nov. 29, 2007, at Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc County. Deborah was born on May 12, 1956, in Manitowoc, daughter of Elsie Jean (Donahoo) Kanugh and the late Raymond Joseph Kanugh. She graduated from Two Rivers High School in 1974. LILY (MYERS) ARNEMAN Lily (Myers) Arneman, 89, of Two Rivers, died early Saturday morning, March 30, 1991, at the Two Rivers Community Hospital. The former Lily Myers was born May 16, 1901, in Burrett Township, Ill., daughter of the late John and Caroline Last Myers. She graduated in 1918 from Mishicot High School and also attended the University of Wis.-Milwaukee, graduating with the Class of 1922. On June 27, 1928, she married Elmer Arneman at Two Rivers. He preceded her in death January 14, 1977. The couple farmed in the town of Two Rivers before moving to the city in 1951. Mrs. Arneman was a teacher in the rural schools from 1942-1954 and also a teacher at St. John’s Lutheran School from 1954 until her retirement in 1965. She was a member of the St. Johns Ladies Society, the Quilters and the Afternoon Social Group of St. Johns. RAY L. AUBOL Word was recieved by relatives in Manitowoc County of the death in Branson, Mo., early Saturday of Ray Aubol, 4?, a construction worker who formerly lived in Manitowoc. Mr. Aubol was born Oct. 28, 1915, in Berwick, N.D., and in 1934 married the former Florence Mitcheltree in Manitowoc. NORMAN E. BASKEN Norman E. Basken, age 85, of 6129 Reifs Mills Road, Manitowoc, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc. Norman was born July 21, 1923, in the town of Gibson, son of the late Edward and Lillian Huletz Basken. He married the former Lydia Soukup on May 29, 1946, at Fond du Lac. CLIFFORD J. BEAUPRE Clifford Beaupre Sr., 53, of 3512 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc, died Monday afternoon at University Hospital, Madison, where he had been a patient the past two weeks. After working a number of years as a maintenance man in the city school system Mr. Beaupre and his son went into the building contracting business which they operated the past 10 years. CHARLES L. BEDUHN Charles L. Beduhn, age 76, formerly of Manitowoc, died Thursday, December 28, 2000, at River’s Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc. Charles served in the United States Navy in the Pacific. He married Eloise Arndt on March 20, 1948, in Manitowoc. Charles began his career at Hamilton Industries and served as a corporate officer in various wood manufacturing operations across the country until his retirement in 1990. EUGENE BLAHA Eugene Blaha, 62, of 1203 Victory St., Two Rivers, died Saturday morning at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital where he had been taken a few hours earlier. He married Florence Wagner Aug. 21, 1935, at Waukegan, Ill. He was a member of the Paragon Goodfellowship Club. Survivors include his wife; a daughter and three sons; two sisters, Mrs. Annette Sagers of Chicago, and Mrs. Leona Smith, of San Diego, Calif., and nine grandchildren. WILLIAM BLANCHARD William S. Blanchard Sr., 90, formerly of 910 N. 21st St., Manitowoc, presently of Park Lawn Nursing Home, died Thursday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Phipps Memorial Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. G. J. Zanotti will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth. Mr. Blanchard was born Feb. 8, 1883, at Dubuque, Iowa, son of the late George and Elizabeth Reno Blanchard. He came to Wisconsin in 1903. He married Emma Nemetz Oct. 27, 1908, in the Town of Franklin, Kewaunee County, locating in Two Rivers until 1910, then coming to Manitowoc. He was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., and Manitowoc Equipment Works, retiring when he was 73. Mrs. Blanchard preceded him in death in 1968. He was a member of the Royal League. Survivors include two sons, William Jr., of Orange, Calif., and Edwin C., of Manitowoc; three daughters, Mrs. Simon (Esther) Grenier, of Two Rivers, Mrs. Joseph (Alice)Hutterer, of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, and Mrs. Joseph (Mabel) Kirch, of Shawano, eight grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. JOSEPH V. BLANCHETTE Joseph V. Blanchette, age 75, a former Two Rivers resident, currently residing in Crivitz, died Thursday evening, Nov. 2, 2006, at the Woodland Health Care Center, in Brookfield. He was born Dec. 28, 1930, in Marinette, a son of the late Victor and Sadie (Terriault) Blanchette, and attended school in Marinette. Joseph was a U.S. Veteran, having served with the U.S. Navy. On July 25, 1963, he was married to Anna Marie Krueger, in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death Oct. 17, 1985. Joseph was employed with Fisher Hamilton in Two Rivers, for 32 years, retiring in 1992. After retiring, he then moved to Crivitz, where he enjoyed the outdoors; fly fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling. He was a member of the VFW Post 1248 of Two Rivers, and a former member of the Two Rivers Eagles Club. ETHEL A. BOHM Ethel A. Bohm, age 91, a resident of the Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers, died early Friday morning, November 5, 1999, at the home. FERN G. BRUECHERT Fern G. Bruechert, age 87, of Two Rivers, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, April 30, 2005 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. The Rev. Fern was born April 12, 1918, in the town of Two Rivers, a daughter of the late Joseph and Sybil (Koller) Levy. She was educated in the Kewaunee School District, and was a graduate of Kewaunee High School. On Oct. 8, 1938, she married Harold Bruechert in Two Rivers, and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1990. Following her marriage, Fern worked for the Hamilton family for a number of years, and also for Sauve’s Grocery Store. She later worked at Machut’s Supper Club for several years until her retirement. She was a member of the Two Rivers Senior Center, and in her spare time enjoyed gardening, canning, knitting and crocheting, and in her younger days enjoyed playing golf. TERRY M. CHALOUPKA Terry "TC" Chaloupka, age 56, of 2315 Cherney Road, Two Rivers, died unexpectantly Sunday afternoon, Jan. 21, 2007, at the Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers. TC was born April 13, 1950 in Manitowoc, to the late William and Lucille Radey Chaloupka and has been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of the Mishicot High School graduating with the class of 1968. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Viet Nam. On July 15, 1972, he married the former Johanna Bitto at St. Annes Catholic Church in Francis Creek. He was employed as a bean sampler for Lakeside Foods. She was born January 12, 1907, in Freeborn, Minn., daughter of the late Claude D. and Alma Durn Howard. She attended schools in Minnesota and also attended the Stout University. She married Anton Chermak, August 18, 1928, in Wells, Minn. The couple came to Manitowoc some time later. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star. ANTON S. CHERMAK Anton S. Chermak, 83, of 912 N. 11th Street, Manitowoc, died Monday, November 7, 1988, at North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Phipps Memorial Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. Rev. William Plank will officiate with cremation having taken place and burial at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth. Mr. Chermak was born May 6, 1905, at Manitowoc, son of the late Anton and Emma Krainik Chermak. He attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated from Stout University in 1923. Following his graduation he taught and coached sports at Wadena, Minnesota from 1926-1936. He married Agnes Howard on August 18, 1928, at Wells, Minnesota, and the couple returned to Wadena. In 1936 the couple came to Manitowoc where they resided the rest of their lives. Mr. Chermak taught at Woodrow Wilson Junior High in the Industrial Arts Department and coached all sports for many years. Following his retirement at Woodrow, he then coached basketball and was the first coach of the University of Extension at the Vocational School. Mr. Chermak was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a past Elder and Deacon. He was very interested in the Boy Scouts and held the Eagle and Silver Beaver award. He was instrumental in building Camp Sinawa. He was also a Dad in DeMoly. Mr. Chermak was a member of the Manitowoc Masonic Lodge, Manitowoc Chapter, and was a past Commander of the Manitowoc Commandery. He was a life member and past worthy patron of Order of Eastern Star No. 196, past commander of Manitowoc Knight Templars No. 45, member of Manitowoc Elks No. 687, former member of Manitowoc Harbor Commission and a member of Cedar Lake Improvement Association. KJELMAR CHRISTIANSEN Kjelmar Christiansen, 63, of 1410 S. 36th St., Manitowoc, died Monday at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield. NORMA CHRISTOFFEL Mrs. Luke Christoffel, 51, of 2814 Memorial Drive, Two Rivers, died unexpectedly of a heart attack in her sleep at the home at 5 a.m. Saturday. She had previously been in good health. Interment will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth. Mrs. Christoffel, nee Norma Nickisch, was born Oct. 1, 1903 at Manitowoc, a daughter of the late Frank and Amelia Bartz Nickisch. She attended the public schools at Manitowoc and for 35 years was employed at the Aluminum Specialty Co. at Manitowoc. She was married to Luke Christoffel at Manitowoc on Jan. 2, 1943, and her death occurred on her 17th wedding anniversary. She was a member of Our Savior Church and its Ladies Aid Society. Surviving are her husband, a sister, Mrs. Raymond Stern of Brillion; a brother, Arnold Nickisch of Manitowoc, and a number of nieces and nephews. A sister and a brother preceded her in death. NANCY COHAN Mrs. John (Nancy A.) Cohan, age 66, of 237 Hoover St., Whitelaw, died on Sunday morning, Dec. 9, 2007, at her residence. The former Nancy Fritsch was born on June 18, 1941, in the town of Cato, daughter of Florence (Schambureck) Fritsch and the late William Fritsch. Nancy was a 1959 graduate of Reedsville High School. On Sept. 12, 1964, Nancy was married to John R. Cohan at St. Michael Catholic Church in Whitelaw. CHARLIE L. DONAHOO Charlie Donahoo, 70, of 2602 Forest Ave, Two Rivers, died Tuesday morning at University Hospital, Madison. ANN MARIE DONDLINGER Truck Kills Girl; Darted Into Road Head Injury Proves Fatal MANITOWOC-Manitowoc's second traffic fatality occurred at 3:40 p.m Friday when five-year-old Ann Marie Dondlinger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. (private), ran in front of a truck 12 feet from the crosswalk, was struck an died almost immediately of severe head injuries. Stanley J. Horak of 513 First St., Kewaunee, driving a soft drink truck, told police that he was driving east on New York Avenue, stopped for the arterial at the N. 11th Street one-way street and then crossed the intersection. He said he saw nobody but heard a thump and looked in the rear-view mirror where he saw the child laying in the street. Was Behind Tree Witnesses said the child had been behind a tree about 10 or 12 feet from the cross walk and had started north across New York Avenue in the direction of a baker shop on the corner. They said she ran directly into the path of the oncoming truck. She was taken to Memorial Hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead on arrival. The death was the second due to traffic accidents this year. Previously Dennis Duprey, 81, of 214 Jess Dr., was instantly killed at 10:52 p.m. June 10 when he was struck by a passing auto while attempting to cross Memorial Drive. Ann Marie was born at Manitowoc June 20, 1958, daughter of (private). SHARON DROBNACK Sharon (Wisnowski) Drobnack has gone to be with our Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ, as He called her home suddenly on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007. Our beloved Sharon was born on Aug. 7, 1980, to adoring parents and four loving brothers, and was the light of our lives for all of her 27 years. Sharon touched us all with caring and love, as she exhibited her generous heart and selflessness, caring for and ministering to others with her beautiful smile and lively personality, bringing kindness and joy to all who knew her. Sharon served with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office for several years, and she was a volunteer at Sacred Heart Children's Hospital. The youngest of five children, Sharon's life is celebrated as she is profoundly missed by all in her family. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) ADOLPH C. EISENMANN Adolph (Nic) Eisenmann, 83, of Rt. 2, Mishicot, died unexpectedly early Friday morning at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Zion United Methodist Church, Mishicot, the Rev. Robert A. Boettcher officiating. Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth. Mr. Eisenmann was born June 14, 1887, at Harrold, S.D., a son of the late Fred and Julia Kannewurf Eisenmann. When he was 15, the family brought him to the Town of Mishicot where it became engaged in farming. He remained in farming in the Town of Mishicot until retiring in 1958. He married the former Alice Mueller at Two Rivers, Oct. 26, 1915. She preceded him in death in June of 1960. A longtime member of Zion church he was its trustee for 26 years. He was a past treasurer of the former Kettle Range District School Board and the Saxonburg District School Board. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Pauline) Weiss of Rt. 2, Mishicot; three sons, Federick and Franklin of Rt. 2, Mishicot, and Kenneth of White River, Ontario, Canada; seven sisters, Mrs. Chester (Amanda) Mueller and Miss Emma Eisenmann of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Sophia Wallin and Miss Margaret Eisenmann of Seal Beach, Calif., Mrs. Antoinette Turek of Green Valley, Ariz., Mrs. Lucy Leigh of Libby, Mont., and Miss Rosetta Eisenmann of Milwaukee; and a brother, Ben Eisenmann of Maribel. Schultz will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth. Mr. Ewald was born May 30, 1911, at Manitowoc, son of the late Ferdinand and Ella Ludwig Ewald. He married Harriet Hansen May 30, 1931, at Manitowoc, and the couple located at Manitowoc. He had been self-employed as a mason contractor. Mr. Ewald was a member of the U.C.T. and the Mason's Local No. 12 of Manitowoc.
