NORBERT 0. JANSKY Norbert 0. Jansky, age 87, formerly of Manitowoc, entered into eternal life on Monday, Oct. 25, 2004 at the North Ridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004 at the Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Highway 310 in Manitowoc, with the Rev. Dave Hoffman officiating, with entombment in the mausoleum. Norbert was born Dec. 14, 1916 in Tisch Mills to the late Edward and Clara Shimek Jansky, and has been a lifelong area resident. He worked as an auto mechanic for the Bartz Motor Company for many years, and later became their shop foremen. He then worked for the Manitowoc Ship Building Company as a welder until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the Mishicot-Tisch Mills Knights of Columbus Council #4807 and co-founded the Squeekers Sip Club in Tisch Mills, and served as its first president. He enjoyed flying as a hobby, working at the Manitowoc Airport, and was a member of the Civil Air Corps. (Survivors omitted for privacy) He was also preceded in death by one brother, Vernon Jansky. JOSEPH R. JIMENEZ Joseph R. Jimenez, age 86, of Two Rivers, was received by the Lord early Monday morning, Feb. 13, 2006, at his residence. Joseph was born Nov. 24, 1919 in Belmont, Ohio, son of the late Julian and Sophia (Sievert) Jimenez. He graduated from Washington High School, Two Rivers, with the class of 1938. Joe served as a sergeant in the Army Air Corps as an instructor in engine operation. After his time in service, he was employed at Hamilton Industries, where he worked as a foreman and later in the engineering department as a detailer. Joe also served as president of the Hamilton Foreman’s Club until his retirement in June of 1983. He was charter member of Holy Redeemer Parish and a member of the Holy Name Society, as well as being an usher and scout master. Joe belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Mother of Hope Council 1957 of Two Rivers, where he served as Grand Knight of the Third Degree and Faithful Navigator of the Fourth Degree. He was also the manager of the Knights of Columbus Club for 16 years. Joe was a proud member of the American Legion and the Green Bay Musicians Union. He enjoyed playing the bass drum with the Hamilton/Two Rivers Municipal Band, where he formed and enjoyed many special friendships. Joe was proud to receive his patch for over 60 years of participation in the band. His hobbies also included flying model aircraft as a member of the Manitou Flyers. Joe married the former Millicent Tome at St. Luke’s Catholic Church on May 24, 1941. Millie was his best friend for 64 years. Funeral services for Joe will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William O’Brien. Military rites will be accorded by the Two Rivers American Legion and VFW Posts. Entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum, Manitowoc. The family will greet relatives and friends from 9 a.m. until the Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Peter the Fisherman Church. MARIE A. JONAS Marie A. Jonas, age 78, of Two Rivers, died Thursday evening, January 18, 2001, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2001, at Our Saviors Ev. Lutheran Church Two Rivers. Rev. Louis Sievert will officiate and entombment will follow at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth Marie was born April 24, 1922, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late William F. and Meta Wenholtz Blum. She married Fred W. Jonas, on October 8, 1938, in the town of Gibson. He preceded her in death on May 26, 1978. She was a homemaker and was formerly employed by Mirro Aluminum for many years and then in the housekeeping department at Holy Family Memorial Hospital for a number of years. She was a long time member of Our Savior Ev. Lutheran Church. Marie volunteered her services to many people in need. KARL W. KAHLENBERG Karl W. Kahlenberg, age 66, of Two Rivers, died Friday afternoon, February 4, 2000, at his residence, following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2000, (TODAY) at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ, Two Rivers. Rev. Kim Henning will officiate at the service. Entombment will be in Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth. Karl was born October 29, 1933, in Two Rivers, son of the late William J. and Cecelia Marling Kahlenberg. He was a graduate of Lake Forest Academy High School in Lake Forest, Ill, and a 1952 graduate of Denison University, Granville, Ohio. He then served with the United States Army from 1956 until 1958. Mr. Kahlenberg was employed at Kahlenberg Bros. for over 40 years, currently serving as president. On September 29, 1984, he was married to Janice (Loehner) Kappelmann at Las Vegas, Nev. Karl was currently an active member of the Two Rivers Elks Lodge #1380, where he was a past exalted ruler and trustee, a proud member of the Two Rivers Kiwanis Club, where he was a past president, past Lt. governor and a state board member and was also the recipient of the Hixson Award. He was past chairman of the Board of Directors of Roger’s Street Fishing Village, he served on the Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society, was a past president of the Chamber of Commerce, and an active member and advisor to the Wisconsin Maritime Museum. He was also a member of the Manitowoc Yacht Club, Two Rivers Shrine Club, the Door County Maritime Museum, the Society of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineers, and a charter member of the Healthcare Coalition. Mr. Kahlenberg was a second degree mason. The Chamber of Commerce through several nominations recently awarded Karl with the 1999 Joseph P. Schmitt Speak Up Award. Karl was a member of Branch River Country Club. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, hunter and bridge player and enjoyed bird watching. DALE J. KASBAUM Dale J. Kasbaum, age 44, a Manitowoc resident, died Thursday evening, July 29, 2004, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. He was born Oct. 27, 1959, in Manitowoc, son of Oridella J. Ayotte Kasbaum and the late Earl J. Kasbaum. Dale was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, class of 1978. EARL J. KASBAUM Earl J. Kasbaum, age 78, of 515 N. 44th Street, Manitowoc, died early Thursday morning, Feb. 12, 2004, at University Hospital — Madison. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Alan Boeldt with burial at Knollwood Memorial Park & Chapel Mausoleum, Highway 310, Manitowoc. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by VFW Otto Oas Post #659. He was born May 16, 1925, in Oconto, son of the late John and Mary Causse Kasbaum. Earl was a veteran of the U.S. Army — Air Force, receiving his honorable discharge on July 26, 1946. On July 26, 1952, he married the former Oridella Ayotte at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. For 19 years, Earl was employed at Fricke Block Company of Manitowoc and then at Kelvinator Commerical Products. He was also employed for 20 years with Manitowoc Engineering until his retirement. MARGARET “MARGE” L. KILEY Margaret “Marge” L. Kiley, age 83, of Two Rivers, died Sunday, May 21, 2006, at Aurora BayCare, Green Bay. Marge was born Nov. 1, 1922 in Rock Hill, S.C., daughter of the late Silas Sistar and Loma (Carter) Sistar. On Aug. 18, 1945, Marge married Harold Kiley in South Carolina. She was employed with Hamilton Manufacturing as a Printing Press Operator, Baldwin’s as a seamstress tailor, made costumes and dresses for Jean Wolfmeyer Dance Studio, and drove for Meals on Wheels for the Two Rivers Senior Center. ALFRED H. KIRCHMAN Alfred H. Kirchman, age 98, a resident of the Hamilton Memorial Home, formerly of Two Rivers, died Monday morning, March 10, 1997, at Hamilton Memorial Home. Alfred was born October 17, 1898, at Rio Creek, Wis., son of the late Herman and Bertha Marquardt Kirchman, where he attended the Lincoln Town School. He was employed for a number of years at Eggers Industries in Two Rivers and later at Hamilton Manufacturing Company until his retirement. GENEVIEVE E. KIRCHMAN cemetery #32 Genevieve E. Kirchman, age 92, a resident of the Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers, died Tuesday night, December 8, 1998, at the Hamilton Memorial Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, December 11, 1998, at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Larry Seidl. Entombment will follow in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, town of Kossuth. She was born January 4, 1906, in the town of Lincoln, Kewaunee County, daughter of the late Frank and Selina Junio Culligan. She attended school at the Lincoln Town School house. On May 27, 1924, she married Alfred Kirchman at Lincoln, Wis. Together the couple enjoyed going dancing and playing cards. Gen was an Avon representative in Two Rivers for over 42 years and enjoyed visiting and talking with her customers. She was a long time member of St. Luke parish, Ladies of St. Luke, and the Two Rivers Senior Center. FRIEDA W. KITZEROW Frieda W. Kitzerow, age 108, of Manitowoc, died Saturday Nov. 12, 2005, at North Ridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc. Frieda was born on Nov. 2, 1897, daughter of the late Charles and Ottelia (Boettcher) Haese, in Berlin. On Sept. 3, 1922 she married Reinhard P. Kitzerow at St. John-St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. He preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 1986. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Cato area until 1945 when they moved to Manitowoc. Frieda was employed as a seamstress by Normington Laundry for 29 years and by Globe Laundry for three years until her retirement at the age of 76. She was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid. Herald Times Reporter Nov. 14, 2005 ******** Frieda spent most of her school years in Medford although she was born in Berlin (WI) on November 2, 1897. After grade school, Frieda worked in Milwaukee as a housekeeper. In 1922, she married Reinhold Kitzerow and moved to a farm near Cato. While vacations were unheard of, Frieda recalls “card parties with neighbors.” When the children were grown, Frieda and Reiny sold the farm. He then worked in a paper factory and she as a seamstress. About her first Maytag wringer washer: “I spent days looking at it before I had the courage to use it. After I did, I never went back to the washboard.” Since her husband died in 1986, Frieda lives quietly, enjoying visits from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. FLORENCE E. KLEIN Florence E. Klein, age 76, of Two Rivers, died Tuesday afternoon, June 6, 2000, at her residence. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2000, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be Rev. David Scherbarth with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth. Florence was born February 3, 1924, in Brussels, Wis., daughter of the late Albert and Elinda Eickelberg. She attended Tornado Grade School and graduated from Brussels High School with the class of 1941. She graduated from the Manitowoc Business College in 1942. Florence was then employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company for a few years. She married Marvin C. Klein on September 16, 1944, at Emanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Brussels. He preceded her in death on January 14, 1991. Florence was a member of the Ladies Aid Society and also regularly attended Bible Class at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church. Florence was also a charter member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary serving as secretary for many years. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2001, at St. Mark Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. She was born May 23, 1908, on the family farm in the town of Manitowoc Rapids, daughter of the late Henry and Lillian Meyer Zunker. She married Edward M. Koch, August 16, 1930, in Two Rivers. He preceded her in death September 29, 1992. Anita was a long time member of St. Mark Catholic Church and the Ladies of St. Mark. She was active in Club Scouting years ago and was an excellent seamstress. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, two daughters and a son-in-law, seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great great grand-daughter. She is further survived by three sisters, one brother, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Gary Koch; three sisters and one brother. David Beaudry with entombment to follow at the Knollwood Mausoleum. He was born November 16, 1912, in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late Matthew and Sophie Kerscher Koch. He married the former Josephine Stanul on August 14, 1937, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Mr. Koch was employed with the Mirro Aluminum Company of Two Rivers for 34 years until his retirement in 1978. Survivors include his wife, Josephine R. Koch, Two Rivers; a son and daughter-in-law, two grandchildren, two brothers and sisters-in-law, a sister and brother-in-law. Nieces, nephews other relatives and friends also survive. EDWARD M. KOCH (sent in by researcher/see contributors page) Edward M. Koch, age 84, of 2205-11th St., Two Rivers, died Tuesday afternoon, September 29, 1992, at his residence. Funeral services will be 5:30 p.m. Thursday, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Two Rivers, Rev. David Beaudry officiating, entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum. He was born May 31, 1908 in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late Mathias and Sophia Kerschner Koch. He attended St. Luke parochial school. On August 16, 1930 he was married to the former Anita Zunker in Two Rivers. He had been employed as a welder at the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Yards and at Smalleys. For many years he operated his own ornamental iron works. Surviving is his wife, two sons and a daughter-in-law, two daughters and a son-in-law, three brothers, a sister, seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. VIOLA M. KRAINIK Viola (Herman) Krainik, a.k.a. Krajnik, age 95, a Francis Creek resident, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2005, at Aurora Medical Center, Manitowoc County. Viola was born Oct. 10, 1909 near Branch, in the town of Kossuth (Route 5), daughter of the late Luke and Emma (Hessel) Herman. The family moved to Mishicot in 1915 and then to Francis Creek in 1922. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School class of 1927. Viola was employed at Hessel Music House for several years, then at Korzinek Music Shop until her retirement in 1965. On Sept. 28, 1957, Viola married Joseph Krainik at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. After their marriage, they lived at Polifka Corners from 1957 until 1974 when they moved to Francis Creek. Viola was a member of St. Anne Catholic Parish, Francis Creek and St. Anne Altar Society. She was a long time member of the Kubale-O’Connell VFW Auxiliary Post 6179, Kellnersville having served as president, secretary and treasurer. She was honored as auxiliary president at the VFW state convention in West Allis. Viola was an active participant in the Francis Creek-Rockwood Senior Citizens where she served as secretary for eight years. She also enjoyed belonging to the Kellnersville Senior Citizens. Viola went home to the Lord on Sept. 26, 2005. She was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph, on Sept. 24, 1986; her parents; two brothers: Luke Herman Jr. and Carl (Webber) Herman; two sisters: Beatrice Benish and an infant sister, Mary; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Survivors include nephews, nieces; brother-in-law: Ernest Krajnik, Francis Creek and nieces and nephews of the Krajnik family. A special family, the Neilitz family, is also included. Other relatives and friends will miss Viola. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Rev. META L. LARSEN Meta L Larsen, age 96, of Manitowoc, died Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 7, 2005, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 916 Pine St., Manitowoc. The former Meta Levenhagen was born Sept. 16, 1909, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Fred and Meta Brey Levenhagen. She was a 1927 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. Prior to her marriage Meta worked for the Manitowoc Seed Company. On July 13, 1946, Meta was married to Paul A. Larsen at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 1999. Meta was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Ladies of Immanuel. She enjoyed her card and sewing clubs. HARVEY JOSEPH LEONARD Harvey Joseph Leonard, age 90, of Kiel, died Thursday, September 14, 2000, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in rural Fond du Lac County. Funeral Services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, September 18, 2000, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel. Rev. David Laabs will officiate with burial in the Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Manitowoc. He was born October 5, 1909, in Louis Corners, son of the late George Leonard and Ida Wilhelmine Pauline Strade. Harvey was a 3rd generation American of German descent, his great grandparents, George Leonard and Elisabeth Urban having immigrated to the United States as pioneers in 1852, settling in the Rhine Township of Sheboygan County. He attended the Rockville Grade School and the Kiel High School. On February 3, 1934, he married Irene Lydia Huhn at St. John & St. Peter Lutheran Church in Cleveland. The couple has resided in the Kiel area since their marriage and celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this year. Harvey was employed by Stoelting Inc. in Kiel as a shop worker making cheese vats from 1939 to 1944, and then again from 1946 until his retirement in 1974. Harvey also farmed 60 acres on the outskirts of Kiel with his wife and family, and was well known in the community for the potatoes he grew and sold from his home for over 25 years. After retirement, he was actively engaged in his hobbies of fishing, collecting and restoring antique tractors, gasoline engines and cash registers. He was a member of the Wisconsin Steam & Antique Engine Club. Harvey was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kiel. He was affectionately known by his many grandchildren and great grand- children as "Papa" and will be greatly missed by his entire family. Survivors include his wife, one son, two daughters, three sisters, 11 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; and four step great grand- children. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Everett Leonard and Roy Leonard; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild. NORBERT J. LIEBERGEN Norbert J. Liebergen, 89, of Brillion died on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003 at his home. He was born March 2, 1914 in Wrightstown, son of the late Martin and Anna (Baeten) Liebergen. On Jan. 23, 1937 he married Adele Eichhorst at Morrison. Norbert farmed in the Town of Maple Grove for 30 years, and worked at Larson Canning Co. in Brillion until his retirement. He also served on the Wayside Phone Co. board of directors for 29 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Wayside and served on the church board and school board. CLIFFORD D. MEYER Clifford D. Meyer, 62, of 1316 N 9th st, Manitowoc, died early Monday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Schmitt will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Meyer was born May 30, 1914 at Manitowoc, son of the late Walter C. and Theresa Schrimpf Meyer. He attended Manitowoc schools and resided in Manitowoc all his life. He married Irene Einberger April 29, 1950 at Manitowoc and was employed by Manitowoc Cemetery and Parks Dept for 30 years, retiring in March of 1977, due to illness. IRENE K. MEYER Irene K. Meyer, age 90, a resident of the Manitowoc Health Care Center, died Monday, May 14, 2001, at the center. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2001 at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum. Officiating at the memorial service will be Deacon Paul Kieffer with entombment of the cremated remains at Knollwood ,ausoleum, Town of Kossuth. She was born June 13, 1910, in Reedsville, daughter of the late John and Ida Dietrich Einberger. Irene graduated from the Wisconsin School of the Deaf in Delavan as Secretary of her senior class in 1931. On April 19, 1950, she married Clifford Meyer at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death in 1977. Irene was employed for many years with the Mirro Company until her retirement. She was an active member of the deaf community of Pope John in Green Bay and served as their secretary for many years. She was also a member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church. Survivors include a special friend, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy and Robert Einberger and a sister, Marian Barr. RALPH T. MEYER Ralph T. Meyer, age 92, formerly of Kiel and a resident of Calumet Homestead Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein died Monday evening. He was born November 13, 1913 in the town of Centerville, son of the late Charles R. & Mary V. Schneider Meyer. He was a graduate of SS Peter & Paul Grade School. On June 30, 1942 he married Sylvia R. Schwoerer at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. She preceded him in death after 56 years of marriage on December 1, 1998. On December 7, 1942 he was drafted into the Army. Ralph was a member of the 101st airborne 327th Glider Infantry Regiment. In September of 1943 he embarked to England for advanced training. He landed in France as part of the Normandy Invasion. He received 3 Bronze Stars for battles he fought in. On September 19, 1944 as part of the Market Garden Operation in Holland the glider that he was in was hit by enemy fire. The pilot was killed causing the glider to crash into a tree. Injured from the crash, he was captured by German soldiers and transported in a railroad box car to Moosburg, Germany (Stalig 7-A). He was liberated from the prison camp on April 30th, 1945. On October 1st, 1945, after attaining the rank of Corporal he was discharged from Camp McCoy. Ralph worked for AA Laun Furniture Factory, Kiel in the finishing department for over 40 years. He was a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Kiel and a former member of the church choir. He was also a charter member of the Kiel VFW Post 6707 and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Ralph was an avid Cubs & Packer fan. Survivors include his children, and one son-in-law. He is further survived by 14 grandchildren & one step-grandchild. Survivors also include two sisters, two brothers, two brothers-in-law, & a sister-in-law. He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, Brenda Schweitzer, one brother, Henry Meyer, four sisters, Florence Seichter, Sr. Alice Meyer, Gertie Muehlbauer, Romilda Stemper, one grandson, Jacob Shackleton and one great grandson, Samuel Kraus. CECILIA NAGLE Cecilia Nagle, age 84, formerly of Reedsville, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2000 at Shady Lane Nursing Home in Manitowoc. She was born Nov. 21, 1915 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Thomas & Agnes (Mrotek) Korbol. She married John Nagle Sept. 2, 1950. She accompanied her husband to Key West, FL and Charleston, NC while he completed his Navy career. In 1965 they moved to Milwaukee and in 1984 they moved to Reedsville. She was a member of the Wives of the U.S. Submarine Veterans of WWII Manitowoc Chapter, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Underage Military Service. She was also a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Reedsville. She worked at Lakeside Packing, the Mirro Company and the Tinsel factory and the condesery. Her hobbies included bowling, swimming, fishing, dancing, sheepshead and gardening. She is survived by a daughter and son in law,3 grandsons, 2 sisters and a brother in law. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 daughters, 1 grand daughter, 4 sisters and 5 brothers. Rapids Road, River Wood Estates, Manitowoc, died Friday evening, April 20, 2007, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Cyrilla was born Aug. 18, 1914, in Catharine, Kan., daughter of the late Wendelin and Louisa (Leikam) Walters. She moved to Manitowoc as a young child and was educated at Sacred Heart Catholic School, Manitowoc. Cyrilla married Alois Rozmarynowski on March 4, 1933 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1985. Cyrilla was employed in the housekeeping department of Holy Family Hospital for 15 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of St. Mary's Rosary & Altar Society and Manitowoc senior citizens. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law; 16 grandchildren; 30 great- grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and four sisters-in-law. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Earl Brouchoud will officiate and entombment will be in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth. Mr. Schetter was born June 3, 1903, in the Town of Mishicot, son of the late John and Mary Trossen Schetter. He married Marie Schesniak Aug. 10, 1930 at Spruce, Wis., and spent his entire lifetime on the homestead farm before moving to Mishicot in 1971. He was employed at Mirro Corporation from 1956 to 1968, and was a member of Holy Cross Church and Holy Name Society. WIERSIG OBITUARY, Herald Times Reporter, Manitowoc, WI, 06 Apr 2005 Ray Wiersig, age 85, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, formerly of 3207 Adams St. Two Rivers, died early Sunday, April 3, 2005 at Shady Lane Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2005 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Kay S. Richter, with entombment to follow in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc. Ray was born July 27, 1919 at Colby, Wis., a son of the late Walter and Amelia (Dins) Wiersig. He was a 1937 graduate of Colby High School, and furthered his education at the Stevens Point State Teachers College, where he earned a degree in education in 1940. On Nov. 5, 1946, he married Mary W. Wertheimer in Watertown. She preceded him in death Feb. 11, 1998. Mr. Wiersig was well known as a coach of high school sports. His first coaching positions coming as head basketball coach at Argonne and Pardeeville. In 1943, he became head football, basketball and baseball coach at Sparta High School, where he coached for two years, until accepting the head coaching positions of the same sports at Algoma High School in 1945. In the fall of 1947, he became head football coach of the Two Rivers Raiders. Along with football coaching, Ray also coached the baseball team, tennis team and freshman basketball. Mr. Wiersig also taught mathematics at Pardeeville, Algoma, and Two Rivers High School. In 1952, he left the teaching and coaching staff, and purchased the C. Schlei Dray Line of Manitowoc, which he operated until retiring in 1983. Ray was an avid baseball player and played minor league ball for a short time. He also refereed both football and basketball for many years. He was an avid golfer and one of the founding members of Branch River Country Club, as well as past president of the country club. He also enjoyed traveling, fishing, watching all sports and was an avid CUBS fan. He was a longtime Packer backer and season ticket holder; longtime member of the Two Rivers Elks Lodge #1380; and past member of the Board of Directors for the Bank of Two Rivers, presently, U.S. Bank. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: one daughter and son-in-law: and four grandchildren: He is further survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law: one sister: nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife; one brother: Art Wiersig; and one sister: Evelyn Kobs. Relatives and friends may call at Calvary Lutheran Church after 10 a.m. on Friday until the time of service at 11 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation. LESTER A. WILDA From the Herald Times Reporter, May 6, 1996 Living people have been omitted. Lester A. Wilda, age 77, of Manitowoc, died Saturday, May 4, 1996, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Private Family Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 7, 1996, at Knollwood Mausoleum Chapel, town of Kossuth, Rev. Robert Simensen will officiate with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum. Lester was born September 5, 1918 at Francis Creek, son of the late Adolph and Mayme Kubsch Wilda. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc. During World War II he served in the Pacific Theatre of War with the United States Navy. The ship he served on was the U.S.S. Pickaway. On June 23, 1941, he married Mercedes M. Skubal in Two Rivers. In 1980 Lester retired from the Mirro Corporation as a general forman(sic). He worked at Mirro Corp. for 35 years. He was a member of Amvet's Post #99, Traveler's Protective Association, and St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Lester was an avid fisherman. Survivors include his wife, five children, a sister, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-granchildren; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Joyce Wilda. Memorials would be appreciated to St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

CORA E. WINKEL Cora E. Winkel, 93, formerly of School Hill, died Thursday morning, Jan. 16, 2003, at the Calumet Homestead Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein, where she resided the past three and one-half years. She is the former Cora Thieleke, born Dec. 13, 1909, in the Town of Meeme, daughter of the late Rudolph and Minnie Schneider Thieleke. She attended Louis Corners School. On June 15, 1929, Cora married her husband of 64 years, Harry Winkel, at First Presbyterian Church, Kiel. He preceded her in death on April 28, 1993. Cora worked for various canning companies in the area, the Osthoff Resort and Laun Furniture. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Kiel; Presbyterian Women; and a former member of the G.U.G. Germania. Cora enjoyed crocheting, sewing, knitting, gardening and playing cards with her friends. Survivors include her three children, seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Melvin (June) Thieleke of Randolph; and one sister, Edna Garlieb of rural Kiel. She is further survived by one sister-in-law, one brother and sister-in-law, nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her stepfather Fred Rupnow, one brother, Allen Thieleke; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edwin Garlieb, Roland and Cledonia Winkel, Arvin and Margaret Winkel, and John and Beatrice Winkel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Meiselwitz- Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 Sixth St., Kiel, with the Rev. Marcia Thomas officiating. Entombment will take place in Knollwood Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. HARRY WINKEL Harry Winkel, 90, of 231 South Liberty Street, Valders, formerly of New Holstein and School Hill, died Wednesday evening, April 28, 1993 at his home after a lingering illness. He was born May 17, 1902 in the Town of Schleswig, son of the late Frank and Louise Balz Winkel. He attended the former Fountain Park School in the Town of Schleswig. On June 15, 1929, he married Cora Thieleke at First Presbyterian Church, Kiel. He was employed with Manitowoc County Highway Department for 37 years, retiring in 1967. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1989. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Kiel. Survivors include his wife, Cora; one son, two daughters, seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one brother. He was preceded in death by three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, at First Presbyterian Church, Kiel, with the Rev. Maxine Hall officiating. Entombment will be at Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth. Friends may call at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, from 4 to 8;30 p.m., Friday, (TODAY), and at the CHURCH, on Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
