CHRISTOPHER SHAUN BRUCKSCHEN (sent in by his father) At the base of the stone of Fred & Adelia Riemer you will find a very small stone -- actually I guess you would call it a ground plaque -- for a Christopher Bruckschen. Fred & Adelia were his great grandparents. Pastor Hoppe suggested that we were a young couple struggling to get on our feet that instead of buying a separate plot for Christopher that we instead see if there were any room on my grandparent's plot for burial. It was then that we learned that both of my grandparents caskets had shifted just far enough apart to fit in a little baby's casket. And that is the story of how a little baby boy came to the same resting place as his great grandparents. Christopher's full name was Christopher Shaun Bruckschen. His date of birth was March 12th in the year of 1987 and his death occured 2 days later on March 14th. When he was born he was born with only half of his internal organs. Half a heart -- half a liver -- half a kidney and so on. We had him transferred to Children's Hospital where I spent the most part of the next 48 hours only taken a few hours here and there to be with my wife and trying to make sure she was holding up emotionally. Christopher died in my arms. That is the whole life story of Christopher Shaun Bruckschen. My father William R. Bruckschen died the day after Thanksgiving 2 years ago after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was a good man and a great father and I can only hope to be half the husband and father that he was. Jim.
