MAGGIE BELGUM From Der Nord Westen, 12 Sep. 1907: (From the correspondent in Mishicott, 10 Sep.) News was circulated last Friday that Mrs. E. Belgom, a local resident, had disappeared from her home during the night and could not be found despite the efforts of her husband and neighbors. Mrs. Belgom appears to be mentally disturbed. A few months ago she wandered away from home but was returned by neighbors. She is the mother of 4 children of whom the youngest is 5 years old. A brother of Mrs. Belgom, Mr. F. Ploekelmann, lives in Menominee, Michigan, and it is possible that she was attempting to go there. ************ From Der Nord Westen, 19 Sep. 1907: The missing Mrs. Belgom of Mishicott still has not been found. A $45 reward has been posted. ************ From Der Nord Westen, 03 Oct. 1907: (From the correspondent in Mishicott, 01 Oct.) Mrs. W. Belgom, who has been missing from her home for the past three weeks, was found dead in Joseph Beresch’s bushes on Sunday by Messrs. J. Stelzer and Engeland while they were rabbit hunting Medical examination established that she has only been dead for a few days, and it is surmised that she had hidden herself in the bushes the entire time and eventually died of exhaustion. The body was taken to the Belgom residence from where her funeral will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Norwegian Church. ************** (From the Gibson Evang.
