Plan Last Rites for Mrs. Thede At New Holstein

New Holstein - Funeral services for Mrs. George Thede, nee Emma Sell, 
78, who died Thursday at St. Elizabeth's hospital at Appleton, will 
be held Monday at 1:30 pm at the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral Home here 
and at 2 pm at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church, the Rev. 
John Seidler officiating. Burial will be made in the New Holstein 
City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from this evening 
until the time of services.
Mrs. Thede was born in the town of New Holstein on Nov. 15, 1867, the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Juergen Sell, and was married on November 5,
1887, to George Thede at New Holstein. Following their marriage, they
resided on a farm in the town of New Holstein.
Her husband passed away Sept. 28, 1941, and since that time she has
made her home with her children, for the past seven months with her
daughter, Mrs. Al Utschig at Appleton. Five children also preceded her
in death, Hubert, Harry, Elvira, Juergen, and Mrs. Ernst {Roma} Funke
of New Holstein.
Survivors are a son, Alex, of Colby; two daughters, Mrs. A. {Hedwig}
Utschig of Appleton and Mrs. Paul [Luella} Langenegger of Alma, Wisc;
six grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a brother, Robert
Sell of Minneapolis; and two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Rickman and Mrs.
Juliana Kindgren of Sioux City, Iowa.
Mrs. Thede was a member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church
of New Holstein.

William Theel Passes Away
William Theel, aged 82, passed away on Saturday morning at the Memorial 
hospital in Sheboygan, after having been confined there since May 24th.
The deceased was born in Germany on November 6, 1862, the son of Mr. and
Mrs. William Theel. He came to this country in 1868 with his parents,
and they immediately settled on a farm near Louis Corners, the place
which is now owned by John Theel.
He was married to Miss Anna Voss on November 22, 1888, and they settled
on the Theel homestead, where they resided until 1915, when they moved
to this city.
Survivors are his wife and eight children: William and Mrs. Herbert
(Erna) Tolksdorf of Milwaukee; John of Louis Corners; Mrs. Armie (Frieda)
Voigt of the town of Schleswig; Mrs. Henry (Amanda) LaButzke and Mrs.
Herman (Annie) Bolle of Sheboygan; Mrs. Ida Koeppe of Waupun, and Mrs.
Walter (Hattie) Gruett of Thiensville. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren
and 12 great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Ernestina Reseburg, resides
in California.
Funeral services were held this Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the
Meiselwitz Funeral Home, and at 2 o'clock at the Trinity Lutheran church,
with the Rev. H. O. Grunwald officiating. Burial was made in the Union
cemetery near Louis Corners.

MRS. WILLIAM THEEL RITES HELD MONDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. William Theel, 82, were held Monday afternoon
from the Zion Lutheran church at Louis Corners. Mrs. Theel died Friday,
at the New Holstein home of her daughter, Mrs. Armie Voigt.
She was born Anna Voss in Schleswig in 1867 and was married to Mr. Theel
in 1888. They located on a farm in Schleswig and in 1916 moved to Kiel.
Mr. Theel died in 1945 since which time Mrs. Theel resided at New
Holstein. She was a member of the Zion church at Louis Corners and the
Ladies Aid society of the congregation.
Survivors are two sons, John of Louis Corners and William of Wauwatosa;
six daughters, Mrs. Armie Voigt of New Holstein, Mrs. H.W. LaButzke of
Milwaukee, Mrs. H.L. Tolksdorf and Mrs. Ida Koepp of Grafton, Mrs. 
Walter Gruett of Thiensville and Mrs. Herman Bolle of Sheboygan; sister,
Mrs. Minnie Meyer of Thorp, two brothers, Fred of Sheboygan, and Charles
of Newton; 24 granchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

FREDERICK THIELE


Frederick Thiele

Fritz was a private in Company H of the 26th Wisconsin. He was discharged 
on June 13, 1865. Discharge was due to the war ending. He had served for 
2 years and 10 months. On July 1, 1863, he received a gunshot sound to the 
right arm at Gettysburg. He died Nov. 21, 1887 and is buried at the "Town 
of Rhine Cemetery".
