Henry Schroeder of New Holstein dies Friday
New Holstein, Wis: Henry Schroeder, 86, of this city, passed away Friday at 
2:30 p.m. at Manitowoc.
Mr. Schroeder was born in Meldorf, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, in 1857, the 
son of Mr. and Mrs. Juergen Schroeder.  He came to America as a young man and 
located in New Holstein where he was employed for six years by John August 
Schroeder.  He later located on a farm a mile southwest of this city and lived 
there until 1910 when he sold his place and moved to this city to live.
Five sisters and two brothers all in Germany, survive him.  They have not been 
heard from for the past two years.  Three cousins reside in New Holstein and 
they are Mrs. William Witt, Mrs. John Lau and Mrs. Peter Holst.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral 
home, the Rev. A. G. Schmid officiating and burial will be made in the New 
Holstein City cemetery.

John H. Schroeder, 90, died Wednesday at the home of his sister, 
Mrs. John Lau, of 1713 Monroe St., New Holstein, after a lingering 
illness. A native of New Holstein, he was born May 27, 1867, the 
son of Mr. and Mrs. John Schroeder. He attended New Holstein public 
schools and farmed in the New Holstein area most of his life. On 
Feb 12, 1889, he married Freda Thede in New Holstein. She died 
several years ago.  
Survivors in addition to his sister, are one son, John of Los Angeles, 
Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Hulda Engman of Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. 
Freda M. Wicht of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Elsie L. Greenwood of Berkley, 
Calif.: nine grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral Home in New 
Holstein.  The Rev. P. Schild of New Holstein will officiate and 
burial will be in New Holstein City Cemetery.
