Carl Greve

Son of Hans and Christina Greve, a brother to Minnie Greve. In the obit 
for Paul Greve (another brother to Minnie), it is mentioned that Carl 
Greve lived in Cottonwood, Idaho. Since a marriage or death record for 
Carl Greve cannot be found, it might be assumed he resided in Idaho.

Helen (Tiedeman) Greve

Helen Tiedeman who married John Greve at Kiel on March 31, 1881 and then 
lived at Abbotsford, Clark County. Her parents were Christian Tiedeman and 
Magdalena Langemak.

Helen (Tiedeman) Greve
/John Greve Family:
John Greve who operated a general merchandise store in the early days,
was born at Kiel on July 7, 1854. Following his marriage to Miss Helen
Tiedeman, who was then living at Kiel, they moved to Lamont's Mill two
and one half miles south of Colby. Here he was employed by August
Lamont, as a sawyer, until 1883, when with his wife and children Ronald
and Cornelia, moved to Coolidge. He was employed for 8 years before
moving to Thorp.
On May 5, 1892, the family moved to Abbotsford...............Here he
engaged in a general merchandise store on the Main street property. Mr.
Greve died in 1907. Mrs. Greve sold her home on Second street to the
Charles Brunner family. .........Mrs. Greve died July 4, 1933 at Rib
Lake. John Greve was one of Abbotsford's most loyal and enterprising
citizens. He served on the village council since the town was
incorporated, and was a member of that body at the time of his death,
July 6, 1907.
Just a mention of some of the business places of Abbotsford - one was
John Greve tavern.

Mrs. Helen Greve was born at Kiel, Sheboygan County (**Manitowoc County), 
Wis., March 26, 1859, and passed away at her home at Rib Lake, Tuesday, 
July 4, 1933. 
She was married to John Greve at Kiel March 31, 1881, who passed away 
July 6, 1907. 
Mr. and Mrs. Greve and children moved to Abbotsford in May 1891, where Mrs. 
Greve resided until about six years ago when she with her daughter Cornelia, 
moved to Rib Lake, which was her home until her death. 
Mrs. Greve was a woman of very quiet disposition was very well liked by the 
many friends she made during her lifetime. She was a member of Abbotsford 
Chapter O. E. S. for many years. 
She is survived by two children, Rhonald E. Greve of Seattle, Wash., and 
Miss Cornelia Greve of Rib Lake; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Brintnall and 
Mrs. Elsie Krupp of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Bertha Higgins of Haines, 
Alaska; also one brother, Herman Tiedemann of Thorp. 
Funeral services were held at Rib Lake Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock 
followed by services in the Presbyterian church in Abbotsford, the Rev. 
Peter Holmes of Rib Lake officiating, with interment in the Colby cemetery. 
The Abbotsford Chapter O. E. S. having charge of services at Abbotsford. 
Many friends from Colby, Owen, Dorchester and the surrounding community 
attended the services here.
