GEORGE DIEM

George Diem (son of Fred Diem)

This baby is the eldest child of Fredrick Diem and his wife Rosa Barbara Mutz.
His name is George Diem. He was born Dec. 20, 1886. He married Anna Bushman
on Oct. 19, 1913 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Riverside, California. He
died on April 26, 1950 and is buried at Olivewood Cemetery in Riverside,
California. His wife, Anna Bushman, is a daughter of John Bushman and Rosina
Schnell (both of whom are buried at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery at School
Hill, Town of Meeme). She was born May 30, 1892 at School Hill, Town of Meeme
and died on Jan. 6, 1971. She is also buried at Olivewood Cemetery in
Riverside, California.
The story on George and his wife Anna is that Anna's brother (with his family)
moved to California. At age 18, Anna moved from School Hill to California to
live with her brother. She had been the girlfriend of George Diem. George then
moved to California to be with Anna. They then married in California. George
was killed by a car while walking along a roadside in California.

JOHN DOOLEY

John Dooley - Calumet

The following obit is for the ONLY John Dooley I have been able to locate
in the 4 county area. Although he is buried in the City of Manitowoc
(and thus a bit out of the normal area of the Schubert people), he was born
at the proper time for people in the photos. Also he lived in the City of
Manitowoc only since about 1890. Perhaps, before then, he lived closer to
Kiel. He is buried in Evergreen.
His wife Minnie married Peter Van Zon in 1906 in Manitowoc and is buried
on the same lot in Evergreen with John Dooley and listed in the cemetery
as Van Zon.
