Wedding - Louise Backhaus to Otto Dedering
On last week Thursday, Pastor Roeck married Mr. Otto Dedering to Miss
Louise Backhaus at the Reformed Church (St. Peter UCC). After the
wedding, the celebration took place, with the guests receiving wonderful
hospitality at the estate of Mr. Christ. Backhaus. One could amuse
oneself with the fine hospitality until early in the morning. Chivalry
musicians brought many serenades and were freely admitted. The young
couple has taken residence in the apartments of Mr. Chas. Weisskopf.
We wish the newlyweds a happy outcome.

AUGUST DEHN

August Dehn

There was an August Dehn living at Rockville, Town of Schleswig.
He was the son of Albert and Caroline Dehn. On the 1880 Schleswig
census, he was 14 years old (born about 1866). He had a younger
brother Albert, who was age 8 in 1880. On the 1900 Census for
Schleswig, Albert and Caroline are still living in the center of
Rockville but there are no children living with them. To date I
have not found a marriage or death record for August. I will search
for records relating to his parents.
