Former Resident Of New Holstein Is Laid To Rest 
New Holstein, Wis (Special) Mr. and Mrs. 0 R Mueller, Mrs. Henry 
Olmsted the Thies Schaar attended the funeral services for their 
aunt and sister, Mrs. Otto Bruhn, which were conducted last 
Saturday at the Lutheran church in Marshfield, Wis. Interment was 
in the Marshfield cemetery. She was a member of the Frauenverein 
of the Marshfield church. 
Deceased, nee Margareta Schaar, was born Feb. 10, 1862, in 
Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. When she was five years of age, 
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Boie Schaar, came to America and located 
in this city. The family lived on a farm south of New Holstein, 
now owned by Claus Bosma where, on April 16, 1882, she was 
united in marriage to Otto Bruhn. The couple lived for several years 
on the farm north of this city now owned by Louis Henschel, later 
moving to Marshfield. Mr. Bruhn passed away in March 1927, and 
since that time his widow made her home with her son and daughter. 
She had been ill for the past three months, having suffered several 
strokes. She passed away at 3 a.m. last Thursday. 
Survivors include the daughter, Miss Lynda Bruhn of Auburndale, Wis., 
a son, Edmund Bruhn, of Marshfield; five grandchildren; two great 
grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Catherine Schoen, and two brothers, 
Diederich and Thiess Schaar, all of New Holstein.

John Bruns Dies Friday
Was Father of Local Business Man; Funeral Monday
John Bruns, father of Henry Bruns of this city, passed away Friday at his
home in Sheboygan, having reached the age of 78. He was a former New Holstein
resident.
The deceased was born Feb. 14, 1854, and at the age of 28 years came to New
Holstein, where he made his home. He was married May 16, 1885, to Miss Bertha
Hagemann, who survives him. Surviving children besides Henry of this city are
Adolph of New Holstein, Mrs. Kurt Weber of Chicago, Mrs. Frank Pasket of
Sheboygan, Mrs. Erwin Stiller of Plymouth and Miss Bertha at home. One child
preceded him in death. A brother, of Peoria, Ill., and a sister, Mrs. Fred
Sass of Plymouth, also survive him.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Sheboygan, and burial was in
the New Holstein cemetery.
